Texas de Brazil is a churrascaria or Brazilian steakhouse chain that has several dozen locations across the U.S. and other countries. This restaurant in Pittsburgh offers dining in, to-go, and catering. As of May 2026, the prices are $58 for a churrascaria dinner, $34 for a salad dinner, $37 for a churrascaria lunch, and $24 for a salad lunch. Desserts and beverages cost extra. For many years, Texas de Brazil has been one of our favorite chain restaurants, and my husband and I have eaten many meals here. For our most recent visit, we ate dinner. The gauchos brought meats to our table before we flipped our cards from red to green, and later they were slow in bringing other meats. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our favorite salad-bar foods--potatoes au gratin, jasmine rice, feijoada black beans, and lobster bisque--and our favorite meats--picanha, flank steak, filet mignon, and beef ribs--as well as the cheese bread. They also served chicken, lamb, pork, etcetera. I would prefer that we have been given more choice over how cooked the meats were. Money-saving advice: We purchased a $100 Texas de Brazil gift card off Costco for $80, and it covered much of the cost of our meal. read more

Second time dining at Texas de Brazil. I went for lunch. Nice variety of meats to choose from (steaks, pork, chicken, sausage, lamb, etc) all with that perfect wood fired char. I'd recommend the picanha, garlic sirloin, and the flank steak. The buffet is solid as well... plenty of options to suit different palates. Service is amazing, my water was consistently refilled. Very nice staff. They take good care of you here. Overall, great spot. You will walk out of this place feeling stuffed. read more

We are a frequent diner here at least 4 times a year. We typically go for happy hour and enjoy the drinks offered on special. Service is always attentive, we are always asked if everything is ok and if anyone needs or wants something. The gauchos come around multiple times with different selections and if you want something specific and cooked a certain way just ask. I prefer the salad bar here as it is excellent. We booked a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Each cut of meat was amazing especially the filet mignon and the barbecue chicken. However, the pork was very tough and difficult to eat. This is a more casual restaurant as it was more chaotic and noisy in the inside. This was our 1st time here, it was pretty interesting and they throw A LOT of food at you. The first plate you see if from their unlimited food bar; au gratin potatoes, beans, asparagus, couscous and sautéed mushrooms. The amount of time I went back just for the couscous is unreal, I loved the sweetness that the raisins brought to it. I couldn't even begin to tell you about all the meat but I remembered to snag a picture of the ribs (meh.) and the spicy cubed steak(my favorite). Not pictured is their mashed potatoes, special cheese bread and plantains. All of which were unbelievable. We did end up getting a reservation pretty late in the evening. Seating -- even with reservations -- on a weekend was a cluster. We waited for 20 minutes beyond our seating time. Once we got past that, the experience was mostly great. The service was slow -- long waits for drinks and for proteins to be delivered to the table, but the food was delicious. It's probably not a location I would choose for a quiet dinner because the noise level was quite high, but if you're willing to endure the noise and the long wait times, it's very good. read more

The last time I was here was 3 years ago. In between that time we also went to fogo de chao. Our experience was definitely not ideal and I don't think I will be back. We had a larger group and we came hungry- as it's a buffet. Our waitress was great- very great- personable and she was new! The salad bar is impressive but the au gratin potatoes were flavorless and just covered in bland cheese. The taboleh was good as we remembered. We went on a Saturday between 6-8- why so long? Because there were over 30 min intervals where our cards were green but not a single meat was brought to our table. Our waitress had to ask the gauchos numerous times to go to our table. They were also very grumpy- when they got to our table they would just say "spicy" or "garlic" but wouldn't say what the actual meat was. One of the gauchos dropped the meat on the table- missing our plate and immediately walked away- acting like he didn't do anything wrong. Eventually we got so tired of waiting for meat that we turned our cards red because nothing was coming our way. I'm guessing that's how they do it now to kick you out. We got multiple SUPER RARE cuts of meat- one flank steak and garlic piccana- so rare that it was actually cold. We obviously didn't eat it. Multiple times the cuts of meat we got were merely shavings- and not pieces. We got the fam gift cards for helping with our wedding planning and it turned out to be a negative experience. They had 20$ off coupon from the website and the manager denied them as "it's not valid on Saturdays" which isn't true as last time we used a coupon on a Saturday. I think there's a lot of room for improvement here. When you charge 60$ a plate, you expect to be severed adequately. At the end of the night I estimate we MAYBE had 15$ worth of food total. read more

Booked a holiday dinner a month in advance - they charged over $200 deposit, called to confirm, etc. We showed up 10 minutes early and were told to stand outside in the cold because our table wasn't ready. A couple of us went to the tiny bar in the back where the bartender didn't know any cocktails, so we ordered a couple of Old Fashioned's - gack - absolutely THE WORST Old Fashioned in Pittsburgh, slapped down rudely. "I'm not a bartender," snapped the guy, "I'm a manager." Terrible drinks served with a bad attitude. We were seated one hour and five minutes after our reservation (I checked). Another overweight middle aged white guy came to the table. "Oh, no, I can't help you order anything. I'm a manager." He comped our table of 14 a single disgustingly sweet pitcher of their 'Sangria,' which we sent to the end of the table with the young people. People had said good things about the crab bisque. It was merely okay. Then the clown show of the 'gauchos.' As with all these places, they bring the cheapest cuts first, a scrawny chicken leg, a bite of sausage. The gauchos wandered aimlessly, looking overwhelmed and distressed. The younger folks at one end of the table discovered that by shouting and waving their arms, they could get a slice of gristly, under-cooked meat. Classy place. The end of the table with the top managers hardly ever got served and after an hour and a half left HUNGRY (and fuming). The managers never applied the deposit to our bill and it took a month of pestering 'corporate' to get the deposit refunded. Cold, fatty, gristly, under-cooked meat, like salty rubber, terrible service, dishonest management. We will never return. I wonder if they will post a 'we appreciate your comments' response. Curious to see if the managers take responsibility and offer to resign so that they can learn how to operate a restaurant. read more

We requested our meats as medium rare & was served as medium well in addition we asked the waitress for horseradish & mayonnaise & was told they don't have mayonnaise only for her to bring mayonnaise at the end of our meal then we asked to speak with a manager and he had an attitude and attempted to kick us out we're not happy with this outcome if you're able to provide a voucher for the 2 of us for another return that would be welcomed if not I doubt we'll return very disappointing read more

Heard about this spot from the uber driver and he said it was similar to Fogo de Chão. I'm a fan of buffets, so had to try this spot. Went for a date night thinking it would be quiet and nice, but oh boy. This place was PACKED for a Saturday night. We had reservations but still had to wait about 20mins to get seated, guessing the people at the place didn't want to leave lol. But anywho, since the place was in chaos it felt like we didn't get much service overall. We got a seat next to the kitchen and the servers would totally ignore us half the time when they went to serve tables, so not sure if that was on purpose or it was specially made for others ? Since it's a buffet one would think everyone would get a share of all the meats. All the meats were rare, they didn't have one that was towards medium even. They boasted about lamb and chicken and we didn't get either till the end and the chicken was not fully cooked and the lamb was cold. The food was decent, but I thought it would be more cooked atleast. The desserts looked good, but we were ready to get out of there. The salad bar was nice and had a lot of options. There were no menus per se as we had to ask for a drink menu. Hopefully next time we have a better experience maybe ? read more

My husband and I were visiting Pittsburgh for a competition weekend and, after looking around at restaurants including this one, I thought this would be a great place for my after-show meal. I looked at their brochure of offerings and it sounded perfect We have a similar place in Florida that is incredible so I was hoping this would be of the same caliber. Unfortunately it did not live up to what was listed on the brochure nor our expectations. We did not have a reservation but the hostess said to have a seat and a table should be ready in about 5 minutes- give or take. We sat in the waiting area and within 20 minutes time we watched about 5 tables clear and were cleaned and ready. As I approached the hostess she was in her phone and I asked her if a table was ready. She put her phone down, picked up some menus and lead us to one of the many open tables. We put our things down at our table and walked over to the salad bar to begin there. As we ate our salad the waitress came by and explained their format and asked what temp of meat we would like. We said medium. We ate and finished our salads and finally one of the servers came by with steak that was well done. Then another. That was it. No one else came to our table. I walked up to the manager and explained what happened and that no one was coming over to our table after the last 2 servers came by. He apologized and said he would take care of it for us. We waited a bit longer and finally another 2 servers came to our table with medium temp steak and we were able to eat. That was it. Once again no one else came to our table yet the menu brochure lists about 12+ items to choose from. Eventually 2 other servers came by with other selections but they were not something that we eat. For the cost per person and what we were actually served, this restaurant by far was a big disappointment. I understand this is a franchise but your standards should always be on point when expecting a patron to pay for this type of meal. The place itself was and is beautiful and well kept. This was the first time though that my group of 6 felt like an inconvenience and we were cut off after 45 minutes of servers rotating through the meats and some of us sadly left hungry. Every time we were asked if we were waiting for something, it felt like an inconvenience. They came around 1 more time for those that wanted a sausage link and 1 more time for steak. Its been a while since my husband and I have been to this location. There have been nothing but improvements, the last time we went the vibe was a little off but this time the employees were laughing and having what seemed to be an enjoyable experience at works and that makes a huge difference for customers. This location is a little more casual (based on what the other guests were wearing etc.) than others but I like that because of the amount of food I consume I want to be comfortable. We went here for my stepdaughter's birthday last night and when I tell you the service was the best I've ever had at a Brazilian restaurant like this, I am not lying. Normally I don't feel like the servers pay much attention because it is mostly buffet style. Our server gave us a rundown of the buffet food and sides, the drink menu and how the meats are prepared. He even brought special medium well meats for my husband and stepdaughter since they don't like medium rare. He told her multiple times he is here to make her birthday special and that she enjoys her food. I was ecstatic that he went out of his way to make her feel special on her birthday! If the service wasn't enough, the food was so good and we literally ate until we couldn't any more. We will definitely come back! read more

It's good it's fattening. We ate there: Everybody eats there who wants to devour meat. Everything is meat. Nice sausages, very nice Prime rib. They bring it to you. I don't like the bacon-wrapped filet mignon (or the chicken, for that matter): it's stupid and makes great steak taste only like bacon. The salad bar is great, although you could pretend to just get by on just that you are lying to yourself and should just pay for the full monty. It's really good to take the potato salad and put some of that vegetable salsa on it. Lots of great salads and sides. Try to pick a less busy time, the place becomes a zoo. We sat close to the kitchen and we actually enjoyed that because we could watch the servers bringing out the meats. It was definitely a different than normal restaurant experience. Visited this evening to celebrate my husband's birthday with our family and I thought the experience was unique! We all tried the salad bar and the meats. It was interesting to try something new, but I would not go out of my way to be back. The things I liked: - The salad bar really was impressive! Plenty of veggie options which were perfect to balance the rich meat. I particularly enjoyed the kale salad, beets in honey, and green beans. - The meat portions are a really good size! We left having definitely eaten more than enough, and didn't feel like we didn't get enough meat. - The decor is fun! There's a lot of room around the salad bar to move around and a ton of seating. We made reservations and got a good spot next to the salad bar. Things that were just okay: - There wasn't that much variety in the flavor of the meats. Cut to cut it all tasted the same for the most part. The char on the meat wasn't particularly flavorful. This is where trying the different sauces at the salad bar came in handy to spice things up. - They give you a ton of dishes at the table (cheese bread, mashed potatoes, French fries, fried bananas) and frankly they just kind of took up space and were just fine flavor wise. Things I didn't love: - The staff simply would not leave us be and the service was a little overbearing. Way too many times did the waitress interrupt our conversations to ask if we were doing okay. She was very friendly, but we never needed anything and at a certain point just wanted to enjoy our meal with our family who we don't see often. The men serving the meat came up to us every time they passed, even when our coasters were red. A man who I assume is the manager also came up to talk to us more than once. It was very consistent. - This isn't a big deal, but I thought that there would be a birthday treat involved, or someone asking if we wanted dessert one of the times we were checked in on. They asked if we were there celebrating something and we told them it was for a birthday, but nothing came of it. Certainly not a deal breaker, but would have made it more special, especially given that this was not a cheap meal. Overall, it was just okay. I think the vibe just wasn't for me. I would have loved a little more time left alone, especially when our cards were red. I don't think that the meal was particularly worth the price. The price is around 15-20 dollars cheaper. There are two cold meat options included in the salad bar. Our waitress was so sweet and kind. She offered many different drink options for the two of us that she thought we would like, and she was correct! Our drinks were very good. If you're a serious carnivore like I am, you must go in person (for the whole experience once covid improves) or order takeout (it's just as delicious) from TX de Brazil. It's an almost religious experience. We've gone many times in person either around holidays or for family birthdays. What better way to celebrate a birthday than a boat load of meat? Yes please! They have a very nice salad bar, but I never bother with it too much because I want to leave room for as much meat as possible. Everything on it is very good. If someone in your party is not big on meat, they can just have the salad bar for a lesser price. When you go in person, you can see all the different types of meats the men bring around on swords. It's also fun to try all different kinds of meats and take their recommendations. The pao de queijo or cheese bread is one of the best parts of the experience. They are delicious. I want a million of them. The mashed potatoes are just ok and not worth space in my stomach with all those meat options. The sweet plantains are very good. I love them as dessert. We did takeout recently because we wanted something special. It was still very good. You can choose the different types of meat you want. We choose picanha which is by far the best. We had the filet which was amazing. I normally like the sirloin in person but it wasn't as good in takeout. We also got my cheese breads which were sooooooo good. I've ate here twice now, and I have had fine experiences both times. Each time I had a reservation and our parties were seated within five minutes of arrival. I LOVE the salad bar! Next time I come, I will probably just get that. I'm not a huge red meat eater, but I was suprised at how good a lot of the meat was. However, at both of my times here, we have been seated in an unideal location- where the servers go back into the kitchen with empty meat skewers. We saw a lot of things come out that we might try but then they were empty by the time they got around to us. read more
