Perfectly consistent! The beef tallow candle for dipping bread was a delicious and creative addition. The service, food, and atmosphere are among our downtown favorites!

It's a gorgeous room inside Meat and Potatoes dedicated to serve only prime ribs. Go there if you love prime rib because it's one of the best you can find anywhere. The service was amazing. Nice, friendly, attentive, and timely. The food was scrumptious. In addition to the prime rib, we ordered bone marrow and fries. I especially recommend not to forget the dessert. It's so tasty. Overall, we enjoyed dining in such a beautiful place with great service and amazing food. The price was very high but it was worth it.

Rib Room is a secret restaurant inside Meat and Potatoes in downtown Pittsburgh. It specializes only in prime rib. If you don't like prime rib you should not go to the Rib Room. With that being said, this might be the best prime rib I've ever had. My family and I started with a wedge salad and Caesar salad. They were fine, but generally a waste of time. We asked for the sourdough, which come to find out we didn't need because popovers were coming. However, the sourdough was excellent. Like I stated above, two of us had the prime rib and it was a 10/10. One of us isn't a prime rib fan and got the rigatoni alla vodka. They said it good, but do not get if you don't like a spicy/hot taste. We didn't get dessert, but the baked Alaska seemed to be a crowd pleasure. For the sides we had truffle fries and mashed potatoes, both of which we enjoyed but weren't mind blowing. The service was excellent and on point, but be warned this is an extremely expensive restaurant and should really be for a special occasion.

Literally the best prime rib I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I had the "queen" size shown here (husband got a king cut). The restaurant is located directly behind the bar at Meat & Potatoes, which is sooo cozy (it gives speakeasy vibes). There are only 16 chairs, so it fills up quickly. Drinks are pretty pricey, but it's a whole experience here and well worth it. Most of the apps were also meat, which we thought was a bit much given what our entrees were, so we opted in for the fries as an appetizer and I SWEAR they are the best fries in the city (salty crispy shoestring!). We didn't have room for dessert, but it looked fab (baked Alaska). Can't wait to go back!

This place was awesome! Brought my husband here for a date night / delayed birthday celebrating. The exclusivity of the Rib Room is awesome and feels like such an intimate experience. We have nothing but great things to say - the service was excellent, we loved the food, and the atmosphere. Definitely will be back! Excited to try Meat and Potatoes next time as well.

I've been to rib room now 4 times, each one special and just as good, if not better than the last. The coolest little speakeasy vibe of a space with some amazing food. The service is impeccable and you better save room for that baked Alaska. It's SO good! The rigatoni - has my heart. I love everything about this space, especially for a special occasion with someone you love!

Finally!! In a city full of steak places, can't believe it took so long to create a prime rib restaurant. This small space is located in the back of meat and potatoes, and only has a few tables. Definitely worth checking out if you're a prime rib fan, perfectly cooked to medium rare with yummy horseradish, and au jus. Probably skip this if you're not a beef eater or prefer your beef well done, as this is a one entree menu. They do offer some of the best appetizers from the meat and potato menu, like the beef carpaccio, which has a nice Southeast Asian flair to it. If the lobster Thermidor is available definitely try it, recommend going on the earlier seating for your first experience to try this dish as they do sometimes sell out.

Totally lives up to the hype! Took my best friend to Rib Room to celebrate her birthday on a Thursday evening (be sure to have a reservation). The space itself is quaint and intimate. We started with the bone marrow, crab Louie, and a bottle of Cabernet. Both apps were incredibly flavorful and the portions were good. We split the King's Cut and the lobster mac for our main course. The beef was perfectly cooked, and the lobster Mac was delicious. We ended our meal with the Baked Alaska which was a delight from start to finish. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu (and hoping they bring back the Lobster Thermidor)!

Sometimes the wait is worth it, other times not so much. We've anticipated our RR reservation for over 2 months. The space sits only 16 people, so reservations are few and far between (though half of the space was vacant at our 8:00pm reservation). When walking in through Meat and Potatoes, I immediately regretted our dinner decision. The RR is isolated in the back of the restaurant without the typical hustle and bustle of M&P. Something that may be great for a business dinner or when using the full space, but not what I am looking for on a date night. Ordering cocktails took a while, but we settled on the RR old fashioned for him and a dirty martini for me. We decided to split everything: Caesar salad, spicy rigatoni, queen cut, collard greens, and truffle fries. Both the Caesar salad and the spicy rigatoni came split, which was appreciated. With our main course, I opted for a Super Tuscan wine, which I typically love but this one fell short. The Caesar, rigatoni, and truffle fries were standouts, while the prime rib was a bit over-hyped (along with the whole experience). When it came time to order dessert, something I was originally very excited for, we were just ready to leave. The ambiance may be what some like, but I would much rather be in a M&P setting than the RR setting.

Returned to RR after several friends raved about it and I'm delighted to say that the prime rib was everything it wasn't when we first visited. And my husband was also able to get an end cut, which they didn't offer before. The beef was perfectly seasoned, served nice and warm, the au jus was a real jus, not a thickened gravy, and the horseradish sauce was perfect with none of the odd sweetness from before. Hooray!

    Where's the meat?????

I'm Torn... the prime rib was just bait... not all that good...seriously tho, I liked the experience, but I was resentful towards the prime rib... and then, after being placed into the back room of meat and potatoes for 2 hours, I learned things... which made this feel like more of a social experiment than a dining room. You're isolated and desensitized and hopefully you came there with some friends because you will be graced with personal insight... hopefully you do not judge yourself too harshly and embrace the time you have in that BOX::: Everyone will have a different experience and inconsistency needs to be embraced here

Bottom line- you're paying a lot of money for very good food. To me, there are exceptional restaurants in the Pittsburgh area at a fraction of the price that dollar for dollar are much more worth it. We started with cocktails which again were very good but for $16 a piece, it seems overkill. Next was the foie gras and the wagyu carpaccio. Both were exceptional. Very well done! The foie gras was rich and delicate with a phenomenal taste. The carpaccio was sliced perfectly. Crunch and spice accompanied every bite as well. As a side, we had the Brussels which were decent. Nothing special at all about them in taste but I was surprised at the generous serving size. The feature item- prime rib. The queens cut. While the presentation totally lacked, literally the slab of meat on the plate, the taste was there. Seasoning was great on the outside and it's cooked perfectly. The jus had a smooth consistency yet rich in flavor. The highlight might have been was the horseradish sauce. I have never been a horseradish guy but I almost licked the serving clean. Yorkshire pudding was forgettable- no real comment. Not for me. Outside of the food, being in the back room there with 6 tables total was sort of weird. Oddly quiet and forcibly intimate, I prefer a more casual ambiance. I felt like I had to whisper. Man. All in all, I probably won't be back because it's not something I typically budget for. But it was a nice treat. It's a meal I'll remember but I can't rate it 5 stars because it cost so, so much. I have a hard time believing the market cost of the items is anywhere close to what they push on the customer. Margin must be out of this world. My concern was paying this much and leaving hungry but that wasn't the case. I don't know, as I'm typing this it's probably 4.5 stars if I could do that. Go try it for a special occasion.

Upon entering the restaurant, there are crystal chandeliers, bright colors, French posters, and a lively atmosphere. The restaurant had a lot of potential until we experienced the service and cuisine. I brought my Supper Club here, and we had a group of 8 of us. There was also a very large group at the restaurant. We were neglected on several occasions, and it took us 2 HOURS just to get our food order. That's not an exaggeration. Our waitress was rather snippy with us, and ended up apologizing at the end but it did make for an unpleasant experience. When we finally received our bread, we were so hungry that we scarfed it down despite it being not so great sour dough bread. Every dish was flavorless and left us wanting more. I had to send back the steak on two occasions: once for being undercooked and once for being overcooked. I ended up getting my meal for free. The Coquilles St. Jacques had the smallest scallops without the lovely scallop shell its usually served in. The shrimp cocktail tasted like anything you could get at the grocery store. The Nicoise Salad was just sad and flavorless. The porkchop and escargot had the most flavor. I will definitely not be back to this establishment. Our group did enjoy each other's company, and it created a very memorable experience even though it was an overall bad experience!

It's cute but crowded with plush seating. I can't imagine being here on a busy night, it must feel like there's no breathing room. Service was fine. Our order was correct and servers were friendly. The best part about this place is the cocktails but don't expect them to be strong. My drink was absolutely delicious but with the mood effects of a mocktail, meaning nothing. I ordered two because why is this almost $20 with no buzz in sight, are we not a lounge? The menu was plentiful though I think the chef may be a little off about the origins of some of the menu items- just be Greek, friend, it'll be okay. I didn't try the pizza, which is almost half of the menu because I wasn't impressed by the small plates. How can you get pickled cauliflower wrong in Pittsburgh. That should be a sin. The hummus was okay but could use a little more ancient influence... like maybe 4,000 years worth, idk. Overall, I wouldn't be back and wouldn't recommend. It's trendy in it's ambience but doesn't deliver anything better than 25 other spots along the same street. AVVA in Aspinwall is a better option. I came here based on reviews by Elite's and this place was incredibly misrepresented.

LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!"
