We've been to Speer's Steakhouse a few times now, so I can feel confident writing a good review for them and recommending them! The food and cocktails are delicious, the staff is friendly, and the ambiance is elevated casual. This is located on Rt 228 in Cranberry Township/Seven Fields area about 30 minutes north of Pittsburgh. The bar area is really cool also. I've attached pictures of the amazing food and beautiful interior.

4 stars. A classic steakhouse experience with amazing and genuinely sweet servers who make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The food is solid and satisfying, and the service really makes the visit memorable.

This is over about 3-4 times we went here starting with our anniversary July 3, 2025. Their "Happy Hour" menu is really good. The French Dip is pretty good but needs more flavor to Au Jus, so I added some S&P and better. Crabcakes are really good as well as the Potatoes Gratin. The Raw Oysters were OK, but they were not cut from the bottom shell Did not like the Crab Risotto at all, and Lobster mac N Cheese was ok. Drinks are pretty good as wife loved the Royal Martini and another drink that was Italian and can't remember name but was really good. The Chocolate Mousse was not really good as left that heavy film taste in my mouth, maybe gelatin... Overall the few times we went here were good so will be back for particular items

The worst hamburger and grease soaked fries I have ever had. Disgusting

Fellow Yelpers and Foodies.... This is all I have to say about Speer's Steakhouse. Absolutely the WORST hamburger I have ever had. I couldn't even finish my wine because the grease from both the fries and burger coated my mouth. I think even the server knew I was very displeased with the food. He kind of just kept his head down. This review pains me that I haven't wrote a review for over a year and lost my Elite Status because of it. The Hungry Hardhat has come out of retirement and can only say... So let it be written... So let it be CLOSED!!!!

We had such a great evening here! Beautiful interior - chic, classy, and tasteful. Such a beautiful restaurant. We had excellent service too! For food, we had focaccia, which was excellent! The seasoned oil it came with was a flavor bomb. Spice, heat, and yumminess on some fantastic; airy focaccia. We also had meatballs, which came with a sweet and sour sauce. And, wow, were these good. I didn't expect the sauce, and it was a nice change from red sauce. There was a slight heat that had me wanting to keep eating the sauce. The bacon tasting is a fun experience. We enjoyed all the flavors from sweet to mustard. The bacon was thick and cooked well. For entrees, I had a filet. It was cooked to perfection. Nice sear on the outside and the center melted away. A remarkable cook on my steak. My wife loved her chicken. So much garlic and she raved about it (and I did, too!!). I had roasted carrots for a side, and they were divine. Nice sweet glaze and a plentiful side! This is a great spot for a date night, and we will be back!

Beautiful. & cozy atmosphere . Nice wine list and delicious cocktails - Magee was our bartender and he was professional, friendly & made a smooth dry martini . We sat at the bar and had the meatball, grilled oysters and bacon appetizers . We really liked the glaze on the meatballs - reminded us of tender meatloaf. Bacon was crispy and meaty and we enjoyed all 3 styles (mustard , creamy blue cheese and a sweet maple) we would order both again . I forgot until it was too late to snap a photo of the grilled oysters. They were good and fresh , but I personally just prefer a Parmesan crust , so I wouldn't order them again . Over all great experience . Only negative was $22 for a martini was way over priced .

Me and my husband went to Speers for lunch today, we had French onion soup which was amazing. The steak salad was great and reasonably priced for lunch! My husband had the prime dip sandwich and loved it. Great cocktails as well! We have also been there for dinner and brunch before and have loved everything we have tried!

We went to Speer's for lunch today specifically for the lobster grilled cheese, the only such sandwich available for 100 miles around. It was very good, as were the accompanying fries. Service was professional, but the wait time for the food was a little longer than expected, especially since it was lunch and the restaurant was not crowded. Overall it was a good experience and we'll return for lunch.

Wonderful service, lovely ambiance, and delicious food. The steak tartare was okay, as well as the chopped salad. We loved the mussels and prime rib. Highly recommend.

Definitely worth trying! The remodel of this building is fantastic - absolutely beautiful! The staff is extremely pleasant and attentive. The food is really good with a few exceptions. The wine list has a nice variety of price points and some classic selections. The menu is pretty typical of a steakhouse with a few exceptions. Biscuits were brought to our table and they were definitely unique and tasty. We started with the mussels and the sauce on them was tasty but unexpected- curry was the overwhelming flavor. They were definitely good and unlike any mussels I've had before. The focaccia that was served with them was dry - so it definitely needed the sauce to make it worth eating. We pretty much skipped it. Next was the Caesar salad created and served table side - delicious! Don't change a thing! For our main course we shared a filet with mushrooms and au poivre sauce, gnocchi carbonara, and creamed spinach (which is my favorite steakhouse side). The filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the mushrooms were very good, and the au poivre sauce had a unique spin in flavor but very tasty. The creamed spinach was spot on delicious. If we would have stopped with those the meal would have been pretty perfect. But, we also had ordered the gnocchi carbonara too. The presentation was terrible - sadly it had no attempt to even make it look nice. It looked like a plate of scrambled eggs with gray dumplings. We attempted to try it and it was definitely not worth eating. There were chunks of egg instead of a sauce - not at all what carbonara should be. The eggs and cheese should be added to the pasta to create the carbonara sauce - not become scrambled eggs on the pasta. Overall, this was a great experience. I cannot wait to try other things! Next time I will stick to the steakhouse classics as that seems to be spot on with some welcome twists.

Their lent menu is a little more trimmed down than their regular food truck menu I have seen before. I got the fish sandwich, hush puppies, and a large side of lobster mac and cheese. It was a little pricey, $31. The lobster mac and cheese was as much as the sandwich for a container the size of a to-go soup bowl which seemed like a little much. There weren't that many lobster pieces for the price, like 3 or 4 decent-sized chunks, and the mac and cheese itself was pretty bland. The fish sandwich was the best part but I still wasn't wow-ed; I was also charged $1 for one slice of american cheese. I'm fine with paying extra for things, that just seemed excessive. The hush puppies and fries were clearly just frozen, and the fries were cold. For the price, I wouldn't come back here during lent but may visit the food truck at a different time to see the bigger menu.

The slaw was good too, but overall I'm just not that big of a fan of slaw. The fish and chips came with 4 decently sized pieces of haddock and a bunch of fries. Honestly, this could be a meal for 2 people if you're not extremely hungry. It was kind of expensive, but worth it in my opinion due to the quality and the amount of food. I would go again. I'm interested in trying their lobster rolls after lent is over!

Examples of menu items are appetizers (e.g., shrimp cocktail and nachos), soups, salads, wings, burgers, flatbreads, entrees (e.g., pasta primavera, chicken, duck, pork chop, swordfish, and A-5 wagyu), desserts (e.g., limoncello and cheesecake), and drinks (e.g., mocktails, cocktails, wines, whiskeys, and beers). My husband and I have eaten here twice--once for lunch last year and once for dinner this year. Both times, we enjoyed the employees' service and the foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Passionfruit-Paloma Mocktail - 4 stars - sour. Spring Sangria - 4.5 stars - slightly fruity. Jumbo Pretzel - 5 stars - huge size with beer cheese and mustard sauce. French Onion Soup - 5 stars - This soup had a rich broth, onions, and cheese. Ybor Cuban sandwich - 4.5 stars - nicely crunchy toast with tasty pork, ham, and Swiss cheese and a side of crispy onion rings. Salmon - 5 stars - I ordered this entree both times. The salmon was perfectly cooked and came with flavorful farro grains, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. Filet Mignon - 5 stars - This 8-ounce steak was cooked mid-rare as my husband prefers. It came with whipped potatoes and his choice of au poivre style (black pepper crusted with bourbon cream).

Owned by longtime locals John and Melanie Dober, it positions itself as a warm, community-focused spot blending upscale comfort food with a welcoming vibe--think handcrafted sandwiches, premium Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood, flatbreads, and daily specials, all with thoughtful wine and bourbon selections. We were excited for what promised to be a polished neighborhood gem, and in many ways, it delivered. The food was genuinely great and the clear highlight. Our dishes were flavorful, well-executed, and creative without being fussy--fresh ingredients shone through, portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated. It's easy to see why so many reviewers rave about the crab cakes, steaks, and chef specials; the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. This is elevated American fare that feels special yet approachable, and we'd happily return just for the meals. That said, a few aspects fell short and left us feeling the overall experience wasn't quite as seamless as the food deserved. First and foremost, the billing transparency issue was disappointing. They add a 3% bank/credit card processing fee to the check (which adds up quickly on a family dinner), but this isn't disclosed on the menu, at the table, or in any obvious way during the ordering process. There's only a small sign posted outside the restaurant. We only noticed it when the bill arrived, and it felt like an afterthought rather than a clear policy. In an era where many restaurants are upfront about surcharges (or absorb them), this lack of disclosure came across as sneaky and detracted from the otherwise positive value perception. The atmosphere was another mixed bag. The space itself is attractive--soft lighting, comfortable seating, and that friendly "upscale brew pub" energy the owners aim for. However, it was noticeably noisy during our evening visit. Conversations required raised voices, especially as the dining room filled up, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal fully. OpenTable rates the noise as "moderate," but on our night it tipped louder than that, possibly due to the layout or lack of sufficient sound absorption. A bit more attention to acoustics could make a big difference. Service was mostly attentive and efficient, but the management interaction stood out in a negative way. When we politely mentioned the surprise fee at the end of the meal, the response was an apology that felt scripted and insincere--like it had been delivered many times before without real follow-through or ownership. It didn't leave us feeling heard or valued as guests. On a brighter note, the owners John and Melanie genuinely come across as lovely people. The restaurant has that personal, homegrown touch you can sense even when they're not physically present, and locals speak highly of them. They were absent during our nighttime visit, though, which is understandable for owners juggling a busy operation--but their warmth is missed when the front-of-house team is handling everything solo. In summary, Wexford Public excels where it matters most: the food is consistently excellent and worth the trip on its own. The family-owned charm and diverse menu make it a strong neighborhood choice for special occasions, casual dinners, or even happy hour in the cocktail bar. However, clearer communication about the credit card fee (ideally on the menu or bill upfront), better noise management, and more authentic handling of guest concerns would elevate it from very good to outstanding. We'll likely go back for the cuisine, but with tempered expectations on the finer details. If you're in the Wexford area and prioritize great American plates, it's still a solid recommendation--just check the small print before you pay.

While I can recommend dining inside, and we will likely do so again in the future (far future), I cannot recommend carry-out at all.
