Vibe/ambiance: clean, large space Service: attentive and nice! Reservation: no Items ordered: - AYCE (~$25) great variety of sushi rolls and they didn't overdo the rice to filling ratio. not amazing quality, but it does the job. pretty generous on the fish. pass on the spicy edamame (regular is standard), and pass on the udon

I went there for our company celebration. It is a high-end all-you-can-eat sushi place. It is very clean, and the crew are super friendly. I was very impressed by the quality of the raw food they provided. If you like more well-cooked stuff, they have that as well, especially eels. Overall, it was a fantastic experience visiting the place. I would definitely want to come back if I visit Austin again.

Pretty good variety of the menu, and the server was very attentive and helpful. The raw appetizer dishes are is pretty good. My favorites were Salmon Tataki and Chili Yellowtail. The sauce was tasty. However, the sushi/sashimi and rolls were honestly unrelenting. The rolls seriously lack in flavor, and I wish they were smaller cause they were too filling after one order. The Steak hibachi was okay but a little too salty, and the fried rice was too blend.

Phenomenal experience eating here for dinner on a Saturday evening. Easy to find parking in the shared parking lot with Fast Eddie's next door. Quickly seated after walking in and given menus. This place is AYCE, with drinks extra. Drink prices are lower than other restaurants of similar caliber. Drinks came out fast, and were delicious. Food also came out fast, about 5 minutes after ordering. This place was packed full, yet service remained quick throughout our time there. Excellent portion sizes and very tasty as well. Each sashimi was sliced about 3/4 cm thick. There's a limit of 20 sashimi pieces per order, but you can order multiple times during your two-hour limit. Interior decor comes across as upscale, with the elevator music not blaring loud. A couple of TV's in the bar area kept our time there interesting. This place has the best value for sushi and drinks in Austin. We felt like we got our money's worth even when each adult runs $36. Much better experience here than Sushi Bang Bang nearby.

Excellent new spot! There was plenty of seating on a weeknight and the layout and decor was built out nicely. The sashimi was top tier. The sushi rolls were pretty tasty although many contain fried ingredients. My only concern was the two special items I got were not good.. I'd want to deduct a star but the service deserved 6 stars alone so I will keep it at 5. Our server was Lauren and she was the best server we've ever had! She assured us about our food allergy concerns and was over all amazing. Definitely wanted to make this our new go to spot for her alone, buuuttttt she let us know she was moving on to something else because she's almost finished with school. Lauren did assure us she was trained by the best and that everyone else there is amazing like her. Definitely going back soon!

I kept seeing Oumi on social media, so my friend and I decided to meet there for lunch. They technically had only soft opened and the grand opening wasn't for another week or so, so I called ahead of time just to make sure they were open. Parking is free and easy in the shared lot out front. I got a spot close to the front of the restaurant and then headed inside. The inside of the restaurant is very impressive and well done. Lots of boots and tables and the decor is really well presented. Everything looks very clean, as well. The employees are also right there as soon as you walk in the door, and they are all friendly. The rolls for me were a bit of a miss, because every one of the special rolls had tempura. The quality of the fish was ok, but none of the rolls really stood out to me. I don't typically like tempura and usually gravitate toward non-tempura rolls, but that wasn't really possible here unless you wanted regular rolls (California Roll, Alaska Roll, Boston Roll, etc) or nigiri (which we got a few pieces of). The lunch prices are definitely solid ($23 per adult) and the sushi was fine, so based on price alone I do think it's worth it. However, now that I have tried it, I don't think I'll make the trick all the way out there again, unfortunately!

My wife and I came here for my birthday in late February and I really had a great time. I took the day off in order to get the lunch prices because the dinner prices are a bit much. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed at which the sushi came out, the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the place, and of course the sushi. I did venture in having the tempura from the appetizer menu, but if you're here for the sushi just focus on that because some of them are extremely heavy due to being deep fried. These things all together made me love this place a lot. I know that Sushi Bang Bang is a few minutes drive away from here, but I think there was a lot more to offer and experience at this restaurant than over there. One last thing: My wife and I were completely surprised that this place actually existed since there was nothing in that spot for some time and then it seemed like in no time at all OUMI was open to the public. So if you were like us and missed this palce, please go give this restaurant a try.

Thienan T.

All the fish was so fresh, crab Rangoon wasn't filled enough. Service was so quick but with four people, we just kept eating as they were bringing it out hahah. The place was spacious and the vibes were good. Decoration was nice and tasteful.

3.8/5 This is a solid all-you-can-eat sushi spot and a good option if you're craving sushi without breaking the bank. The salmon nigiri and sashimi were a bit fishy, but still acceptable for the price point. Most of the rolls didn't really stand out, though the Black Dragon roll was my favorite since eel is hard to mess up. I also enjoyed the double salmon roll, especially with the sriracha sauce, which added a nice kick. The other fried rolls weren't very memorable and felt more average compared to the rest of the menu. One of the highlights was the atmosphere. The interior is beautiful, modern, and very spacious, making it a great place for birthdays, celebrations, or dining with a larger group. On top of that, the service was excellent. Our server was incredibly sweet and friendly, and even though she was clearly very busy, she still made the effort to check in on us and keep the experience pleasant with fun conversation.

Loved this new AYCE spot that's close by our home in the NW ATX/Lakeline vicinity! We stopped by Oumi on New Year's for lunch and were very impressed and pleased with the attentive server and staff welcoming us, price point was right for a lunch spot and the offerings for food were order and they'd bring out and explain the dishes being coursed out. I loved our special rolls we got along with the sashimi appetizers, would def get these again! My picky kiddo got an order of fried rice and some chicken nuggets which helped and we also appreciated that they were very much good about picking up our dishes and asking if we wanted to put in our next round. Interior was clean, and aesthetic of the decor and bathrooms were very nice, well lit and maintained. For a spot that just opened, you can certainly tell they've worked to ensure it's on its game for grand opening galore! I'd come back and also very much liked the parking situation, which makes me always appreciative of eating without the stress of something else to think thru!

Philip C.

The ambiance and decor is clean and stellar! You walk in and everything is well lit to the perfect Sushi Eating Mood and the staff is very hospitable! The floors are clean. The Bathrooms are clean and the space is quite inviting. The Service was very quick and quite friendly. The Food. You have a 2 hour time limit adults are only $35 Appetizers: Crab Rangoon: of all the buffets AYCE in Austin area these are one of the best Crab Rangoons 10/10 Oumi Tempura: This is a modified Crab Rangoon no shell just seaweed and deep fried. Delicious! 10/10 Shumai: Okay but not great. 3/10 Mains- Sashimi- All Fresh! But Very Limited Selection Yellow Tail: Very Good 8/10 Salmon: Inconsistent Fatty content, but very good 7/10 Eel: Yummy: 8/10 actually warm! Tuna: Above Standard 8/10 Tamago: very Good! 9/10 perfect sweetness , Great consistency! Other food Shrimp Tempura- nice Coating, Fresh, one of the best in an all you can eat. 10/10 Rolls: Spicy Tuna: Way too unbalanced. Too Spicy (and I love Spice), I assume this was older tuna masked with spicy sauce. Was not my favorite. Also it's a traditional roll and should be served seaweed outside. 4/10 Yellowtail Roll: The yellow tail was not as fresh in this roll, but good balance of rice to fish, seaweed still crunchy! 7/10 Bronco Roll- filet log on, crab and cheese deep fried and asparagus. Sounds weird huh? I was super skeptical but oddly enough it was my favorite roll! Not too much rice if any, mean steak everything. The sauce was just perfect 12/10 it's that good. I'd honestly come here for this. For desert you have tempura banana and ice cream. They're all decently good 7/10.

Angela B.

Went for lunch today for their soft opening and their all-you-can-eat sushi. Seating- Checking in was chaotic, as some people had numbers to wait to be seated and some people were waiting to check-in, but when some people (I'm talking to my bald headed friend in flip flops who acted rude when I asked him if he was waiting to check-in) in the check-in line are standing there not committing to either side, it doesn't help. There is a lot of seating in this restaurant, and they even have room for larger parties. Service- The young lady who waited on me was really nice, but it did take her about 5-10 minutes to get to my table to get my drink order, and she only had one other table to serve, so not sure if there was something else going on, and she did apologize for the wait. Food- I ordered the following, and my hot take on each dish - House Salad: More watery than dressing. Needs more dressing and the lettuce needs to be cut up better, as I got a lot of the lettuce chunks, and water was not properly drained off. - Kani Salad: Pretty good, but spicy. - Clear Soup: Tasted more like water than the broth - Miso Soup: Also, tasted more like water than the miso. - Tuna Roll: Pretty good. Would order again - Maguro (Tuna Sushi): The rice was pretty hard, and I couldn't really taste the rice vinegar in the rice. I eat a lot of white long-grain rice and sushi, and I can tell you that the rice was underwhelming. - Wasabe: Pretty chunky and not as pasty as it should be Also, good luck getting cell phone reception in the restaurant. I was trying to add more pictures of the food, but because the reception was not great here, and there is no free wifi to be found nearby, I couldn't post immediate photos of my experience. They also let you pay at the table, but if the reception is not working, then this might be a problem. Final Verdict: I know this was the restaurant's first day, so all the bugs have not been worked out yet, and I hope they eventually will get it worked out. I will probably give them another chance in a month to see if the bugs have been worked out. I would say give it a try, but do as I did, and try at lunch when it is a little cheaper, so you can judge the place for yourself. High points are the really nice staff and a very clean restaurant. Low points are the things I mentioned about the food or just being better organized with the seating and the wait time for drink orders.

I'm not really sure the high reviews are. Lots of sushi options in the area this is very forgettable. And for sure not the best all you can eat options. Better off going to a à la carte option with better sushi. $100 plus after tip 1 adult and 2 kids. Absolutely not. Everything was very forgettable. I think people are blinded by the shiny lights. read more

The lunch AYCE special is a good deal. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but when I'm in Austin my standards are a lower. I've had a lot of sushi in Austin that's much worse than this, and I'm pretty sure this is the best you can get for this price point. The raw fish can be kind of hit or miss depending on the day, but the smoked salmon nigiri and shaggy dog roll are consistently good. I also liked the old town roll. The red dragon was ok, and also spicier than spicy crab meat usually is. I also really like the vegetable tempura (but mostly the sweet potato one). read more

Today, my daughter, her boyfriend, and I visited Oumi Sushi All You Can Eat, a newly opened restaurant. The setting was beautifully arranged, clean, and had a pleasant atmosphere. Our server, May, was exceptionally friendly and attentive, guiding us through the menu since it was our first visit. We began with edamame and crab ragoon. For sushi, we chose the Hollywood and Angry Lobster rolls, both of which were delicious and well-balanced. We primarily ordered sashimi, and I particularly enjoyed the pepper tuna. To conclude our meal, my daughter and I savored their green tea ice cream. I highly recommend Oumi Sushi All You Can Eat to my family and friends. read more

We saw someone post about this online. Of course we had to give it a try! It was pretty far north (especially since we live in the south), but this is worth the drive! Lots of seating, lots of space. Luckily we went on a week night, not sure how busy they get on the weekend. Service was friendly. Food was great. Lots of options on the menu! We'll be back! read more

I had high hopes.....and I was not disappointed! I could tell you about how well done the interior is, but who really cares as long as the food is good and cheap! And it is. We had at least 5 orders of the Chili Yellowtail, my absolute favorite, edamame , an order of Crab Rangoon, which was too much for one person (my date is GF), I also really enjoyed the Austin roll, which at any other sushi place would have been $23 alone! We had endless food for the same cost. We enjoyed it all. Ended with some green tea ice cream, also included. You absolutely can not beat this place for the quality, price and service. We'll be back for sure. read more

This place is delicious. I have never had anything bad on their menu. Premium sushi rolls are included on the lunch menu and their prices are very reasonable. Service can be a little slow but they are very friendly and helpful. They are currently hiring so I am sure it will improve. The place is brand new and looks like a high end establishment. Everything is marble or polished wood. It's clear they put a lot of work into it. I highly recommend it. The food was be a good value at twice the price but it's amazing for the lunch costs. It's on my rotation for sure. read more

My first time coming here for lunch!! What an awesome place! For all you can eat... I love that I don't have to wait in a line or get my food. You order from the menu and they will bring your food to your table. I started with their miso soup that was great! Then I had some spicy edamame... it had a sticky hot sauce on it I didn't like but I am sure some would like it. The seaweed salad was tasty... the California roll was decorated so nice and it was perfect! The nigiri was done perfect as well... I had some smoked salmon, tuna, masago, yellowtail and pepper tuna. All tasty! I have to say the ginger and wasabi were so good!! Yes!! And I had ordered a steak & chicken teriyaki... I got those which were tasty and I also got - chicken tempura (which I didn't order) but I tried that and I'm glad I did cause that was yummy!! I ended with the green tea ice cream!! It came with whipped cream and some chocolate drizzle!! Soo yummy!!The service was great! They are friendly and attentive. I'm definitely coming back with my friends!! read more

If you want a real review here it is. As someone who eats AYCE Sushi at minimum once per week (yes I know it's a lot) Oumi is top of the line! I have eaten at every single AYCE sushi place in the greater Austin area, and Oumi is our current #1. The Sashimi my main go to, is fresh, thick beautifully colored cuts on any of the options. The appetizers themselves have a great selection and the rolls are what you would expect at any AYCE but that is good! I want what I want! The hand rolls are LARGE and 10/10! Included one in my picture below! The ambience is a mix of high end sushi and sports tvs but hey this is Texas, I enjoyed it! The staff was friendly, attentive, and a great great time! TLDR, #1 in Austin at the moment, will try them again soon to make sure the quality stays up! read more

I went in Opening day so take my review with a grain of salt. Obviously the staff is still figuring out their rhythm but our server was super sweet. Rolls and cooked dishes were slow to come out. The nigiri pieces leave much to be desired. I got the spicy tuna and shrimp tempura hand rolls. I am confused as to way they are so big; it was hard to eat. Spicy tuna hand rolls quality was low. The chili hamachi was surprisingly good. If AYCE dish is up your alley, I'd recommend this place. It's clean and has a nice ambiance and I'm sure they'll work out their service. read more

A friend and I visited Oumi Sushi and had a pretty mixed experience. On the positive side, we were seated immediately with no wait, which was great. The restaurant itself was super clean and had a really nice vibe. The food was honestly really good--definitely the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. We weren't greeted when we first sat down, and the bartender didn't check in much throughout our time there. I ordered a beer and after finishing it, I was never asked if I wanted another drink or anything else. At one point, an older gentleman sat next to us and was taking his time ordering, and the bartender seemed visibly annoyed based on her facial expressions, which kind of took away from the overall atmosphere. Overall, the food was great and the place looks nice, but the service--specifically from the bartender--could definitely use some improvement. read more

Solid sushi spot! Went with a large group of friends (about 20) to celebrate a birthday and they were able to fit us comfortably. Ambience feels clean and elevated, making it a great spot for a special occasion. All the food we ordered was really good, from the raw appetizers to the hibachi to the sashimi to the rolls. The salmon sashimi pieces were fresh, fatty & slices were surprisingly generous. Other fan favorites were were the chili yellowtail, salmon tataki, and salmon mango apps. The servers are great...but they are so busy and way under-staffed that for the price I was paying, totally not worth it when the apps continue to be served warm at best. When I went, the cashier had to come help as well and again, I think I saw 2 servers the entire time...but they were great as they kept apologizing. I asked if this was normal and they said yes...so they are making good money as it is pricy but will keep us away. Plus, charging dinner prices all weekend for lunch....this is why when I went by a few weeks ago, very few folks attending...and few cars in lot. We were looking forward to trying a few different drinks, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, the bartender wasn't welcoming and seemed more inconvenienced than interested in helping us. I asked about an advertised special and was told they were out. I then asked if they had a whiskey list so I could see what was available for an Old Fashioned, but was initially told no because they were "redoing the pricing." I had to clarify that I wasn't asking about prices, I simply wanted to know what whiskeys they carried. Instead of providing any guidance, we were told to look at the bottles behind the bar and choose from those. After ordering, we were informed they were out of oranges and asked if we wanted a lemon slice instead. At a bar that specializes in whiskey, not having oranges for one of the most classic whiskey cocktails was surprising. We declined the lemon, and the Old Fashioneds themselves were below average, especially considering the price. To make matters worse, another employee came over while we were sitting there and began loudly complaining about how slow business was, using profanity within earshot of customers. It came across as unprofessional and only added to the poor overall experience. The bar wasn't busy, there were multiple bartenders and only a handful of customers, so it was disappointing that the service still felt inattentive and unwelcoming. We had planned on spending the evening there and trying more than one drink, but after our first round we decided to leave and go somewhere else. The food is good, service is great! Perfect for family and friends gatherings. We had an absolutely incredible experience at this all-you-can-eat sushi spot! Soto consistently delivers beyond fresh sushi and straight from Japan specialties. Want to mix some meat with your sushi? Then go for their imported Wagyu beef. It will melt in your mouth. The prices are certainly not on the "all you can eat" sushi restaurant scale, but you are paying premium for premium. On this visit, we arrived during their happy hour. Do check out their HH menu; it is more than generous. I'm not going to bore you with our selections, but the sushi is so tender and fresh that you are insulting the chef and the fish by adding soy sauce and wasabi! When I walked in, I was prepared to order a couple of sushi rolls, but I was immediately greeted by an amazing server who explained how everything worked. He let me know this wasn't the typical all-you-can-eat experience and explained that, during lunch, anything on the menu that wasn't highlighted in red was included. He made the whole process easy to understand and was incredibly attentive throughout my meal. Every time I marked something else I wanted to try on the order sheet, it was promptly picked up and brought to my table. Now, let's talk about the food. The absolute standout was the Garlic Tuna Nigiri. You HAVE to try it. The sauce was unbelievable! So flavorful that my mouth is watering just thinking about it. On a scale of 1 to 10, it's honestly a 20 out of 10. The tuna roll was fresh and tasty. It wasn't anything particularly unique, but it was well made. The shrimp tempura appetizer was crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the dipping sauce. The only item I probably wouldn't order again was the Red Dragon Roll. I think if you enjoy cooked sushi, you'll probably like it, but it just wasn't for me. Since it's all-you-can-eat, I wanted to order responsibly and make sure I finished everything I requested, so I powered through it rather than letting it go to waste. The Rainbow Roll was delicious, and the Spicy Tuna Roll was another favorite that I'd happily order again. Overall, I'd give the experience a 10/10. The food quality, especially for an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, was a solid 8/10, with the obvious exception of the Garlic Tuna Nigiri, which deserves its own category. I can already see myself coming back very soon! I'm just hoping they never decide to put that Garlic Tuna Nigiri in red lettering, because I'd probably order plate after plate of it!
