We were seated right away, and they promptly brought out water and fresh bread and the bread was delicious. I ordered a glass of cab, and we split the fig pizza. Everything was flavorful and well done. I also really enjoyed their outdoor space. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially to try their pasta next time.

Our waitress was attentive, polite, and offered great suggestions, which we appreciated. We started with the meatballs and calamari. The calamari came with both a white and red sauce -- the white sauce was a standout and really delicious, though the red sauce wasn't quite to my taste. For dinner, we ordered the fig pizza, which came out perfectly cooked and was absolutely delicious -- definitely something I would order again. One of my friends had the chicken Alfredo and said it was well-seasoned with a good amount of sauce. Her only note was that the full cloves of garlic were a bit overpowering, and she would have preferred them sliced or minced instead. My husband ordered the steak and said it was perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly how he wanted it. I had the branzino, which was good, but I felt it could have used a bit more sauce and salt to really bring out the flavors. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return -- I'd just be interested in trying a different dish next time.

Aric kept checking on us to make sure we were okay and was quite accomodating and didn't mind us ladies being moved into an inside table. Plus, I didn't want to deal with the typical muggy weather anymore. I ordered a frozen Benny Bellini - Peach Bellini to help support a worker who has cancer. The food was surprisingly served fast despite the restaurant focusing mainly on their wedding party guests from their patio. For dinner, I shared bruschetta. Ordered bruschetta for my dinner. Italian Sausage, Roasted Red Pepper, and Goat Cheese Bruschetta; For my 2nd bruschetta: Apple, Fig, Chutney & Brie Bruschetta. My third Bruschetta was House Smoked Salmon and Herbed Cream Cheese Bruschetta. Thankfully, they DON'T skimp out on their ingredients on top of their bruschetta!! Besides the bruschetta, my friend Tina offered me a slice of her Mediterranean Pizza. Thanks so much for the top notch quality food and service!!! Also, thanks so much for checking me into my reservation at Open Table so I can ensure I get more points to maintain my status.

My friends had glasses of white wine and I tried their holiday gin cocktail which was perfect for me as it was not too sweet. The server helped guide me to that drink choice. My friends had bruschetta, tuna salad, and grilled cheese with soup. We were able to walk in and easily get a table for 4 as it wasn't too busy. However, it started to fill up and it seemed like our server had many other tables because we wouldn't see her for a while and had to wait a bit for some follow up items. Overall a consistent, good time, and they can do separate checks which is great for a party of friends ordering different things!

This was actually a very delightful little place tucked away in a hidden hotel in The Domain. I…read moreguess this is technically a hotel lobby bar, but I thought the food and drinks were way better than the average hotel. The Margaritas are strong and boozy , making it one of the strongest in North Austin in taste. They ran out of a beer we wanted so they suggested another local brew. It was so great that we went to the brewery a couple days later. Kudos to the great service! As for the food, it was a pretty big menu and everything was good. I thought my country fried steak was a little on the salty side, but everything, especially the potatoes, was nice and hot! My buddy got a good looking burger. Add the live music and the chill outdoor vibes, I am very much interested in coming back and maybe staying at the hotel.

She persuaded me to see a live band at the Water Trough (my first time there). Reluctantly, I agreed to do so (went coughing and screaming...literally and figuratively). We got to the Water Trough about 8:30 pm and she ordered a drink. The band sounded down home and soulful. She thought they would play until 11 pm. Unfortunately, that was not the case. They played until 9 pm and ended their set. Our server came over and told us that the kitchen had closed at 8:30 pm and she was not aware when she gave us menus. Our server was very nice, but seemed extremely tired. Therefore, my friend cancelled her drink. We decided to find another restaurant in the domain that had good food. The Water Trough is a funky, eclectic restaurant and bar in the Lone Star hotel at the Domain (directly across the street from Dillard's and Maggiano's). It has indoor outdoor seating which is seamless between the two. The wooden ceiling is high and intricate...really a piece of art. The Water Trough overlooks a pool at the Lone Star hotel. Very cool place...will definitely be back.
