I don't usually write reviews but I enjoy a good pizza once in a while; for us it's a special treat, so I want it to be very good. Otto's fits the bill. We've ordered online a few times since the Exeter store opened and have never been disappointed but rather very pleased. It's cooked to our specification and the ingredients are fresh and delicious. The food was ok. The mashed potato, bacon, and scallion pizza was very good, even though it wasn't what we ordered. The pulled pork and scallion pizza was very spicy and didn't have much pork on it. This location seems to be run by the teenage waitstaff. I would guess there was no owner or manager on site. Our waitress was nice, but didn't know the menu and brought us a different pizza than we ordered. She didn't come back to our table for a long time, so we just ate it. When we told her later, she said she would have replaced it. Later we realized they charged us for a soda refill. It's a fairly new location, so hopefully they can work out their service issues soon. Maybe if you're just doing takeout it will be fine, but there are many other pizza places in Exeter for takeout. read more

The service is honestly horrendous here which makes it heartbreaking to say for the first time ever I'm going to pass on an Otto location. Have gone three times since this location opened, and none have been good. Last time was refused tap water. Bought smart water for my kids to drink and was refused cups and straws despite seeing teenagers working there drinking from plenty of cups and straws. Was told in order to get water or cups I had to "dine in" meaning the other side of the restaurant despite there being more tables in the takeout area than the dine in area, and despite already having bought a bottled water. After 35 frustrating minutes with toddlers, bottled water, and no pizza, I asked a different teenager and finally received cups and straws. Ended up buying a slice of pizza for the kids to eat while we waited even longer for the pies we ordered for takeout. Legit this slice had to have been sitting the ENTIRE day on the rack. It was desiccated like a pepperoni pizza had become a sun dried tomato. Honestly, if I wasn't at my wits end on a Wednesday night I would have asked for my money back. Nothing but good things to say about Otto in Maine. Nothing but bad things to say here. Oh yeah, when the pizza finally came out, another one of the teenagers handed a greasy hot box to my 4 year old. I can't make this up! Oh! And my pizza was wrong! read more

If you haven't tried the new OTTO restaurant in Exeter you definitely need to! The pizza is delicious. We have ordered takeout a few times opting to "build your own pizza" which gives you the option of choosing from a variety of toppings and it is amazing. Pick up is easy and the staff is courteous and friendly. Highly recommend! read more

Last week I would have given Otto 4 stars but this week I reordered the spinach, Kalamata olive and garlic pizza. It wasn't even close to last week's pizza which was an abundance of spinach, good sprinkling of olives and a little bit of the garlic. Tonight's pizza had barely any spinach and each piece was LOADED with garlic to the point it was just gross. No one, even this garlic lover, would eat that much. I was super disappointed. Otto needs to teach their cooks what it means to balance flavor. I'm not sure I'll waste money ordering from here again. read more

If you're looking for great pizza, look no further. Love the crispy thin crust and the toppings, of course. The four cheese, white pizza is amazing! But so is everything we've had from Otto. We visited a good friend in Exeter last weekend. She couldn't wait to try Otto. I checked the Yelp reviews, and wasn't expecting much. This was their first Friday open for dinner. We walk in, and the host/greeter was about 16 years old. Not a good sign. But, my error! This young guy was a total pro, and very mature. We were seated shortly. Good menu. Good wine selection by the glass. Honest pour. Our server was excellent. Friendly, smiling, and informed. Waiting for our pizza, I watched the busboy (also about 16) carefully wipe down two empty tables. When completed, he even made eye contact with the teen host, letting him know the table was ready. I love these two young employees! Pizza was great. Large with 1/2 pepperoni, and 1/2 basil& mushrooms. Small pizza bianco. Really good! Tirami su for dessert was just a packaged thing. Would go back in a heartbeat. I have no affiliation with this place. I live 500 miles away. No family member works here. Actually, I never heard of Otto's. So, employees, keep it going! read more

Horrible Service and Customer Experience! It's pizza that is also marketed and sold frozen in the grocery store and the Exeter Otto location staff are about as bad as buying a frozen pie although the grocery store worker probably has better manners. We were greated at the door with a nasty look on a Saturday afternoon at 130PM. Four hungry kids and the woman glared at us and simply said "We don't have anything available for you for at least a half hour. As we stood there contemplating our next move , the manager came over and said "Even though it looks like we have tables available we don't!" In disbelief we simply exited the building and will never go back again. We are Exeter residents and will simply scratch this place off our list. No reason to be rude when your getting a $150 lunch group in, but hey their pizzas are $25 each and Exeter Otto won't last long here anyway. I just hope the next restaurant takes a better approach to customers. Station 19 didn't make it in this location and neither will this sad excuse for a restaurant. Back to Flatbread....don't waste your time with this pizza....Beware! read more

If I wrote this review a month ago, 5 stars. But despite having amazing pizza, they just keep failing over and over. I've actually been 4 separate times since my initial experience, and left hungry and empty handed each time despite having a pocket full of money to spend. Once I was told the kitchen closed a little early, bummer but understandable. Another time I went for slices and saw them all out in the open, not under a light and clearly not fresh. That one was a bummer. And finally, two separate trips looking for a dessert item. The first time they were out, again a bummer but things happen. Then I was told exactly when to come back because it would for sure be there, only to be left disappointed again. There have just been to many let downs, oops, I'm sorry, golly gee mister situations for the pizza to overcome. One word really: Bummer. read more

This is the second time I have taken out from Otto. Both times I was very happy with the taste of the pizzas. The crust is great! The toppings have been generous. The staff has been friendly. Got a Pizza here here soon after opening that was mediocre at best, but thought that I would give it another try to check out some of the the non-traditional toppings. 'Built my own' pizza, then tried using a virtual credit card to pay. Got a message stating "There is not enough time today to prepare your order. It requires 23 minutes to prepare". This was at about 4:15 in the afternoon. After clearing this error and trying to place the order, another popup appeared with a spinning wheel that, after 3 minutes was still spinning. Tried two more times with the same result. Finally decided to try a second credit card and was able to get past the spinning wheel which lasted only a few seconds, and without the 'prepare error'. This time got a popup telling me that my pizza would be ready at 5:11. Drove to Otto, arriving at 5:10 only to be told that my order was not in the system and had not been started. The guy at the counter asked if I had been charged for the pizza - he was fine no problems with his service - and at that point I told him that I would find out and make see that it was removed if I had, then walked out. I will not be back. P. Went home and ordered from a place in the next town over. picked it up 15 minutes later, and it was one of the best pizzas that I have ever eaten. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch. We shared a small Spicy Pulled Pork, Pepperoni, Bacon & Sausage pizza, which was just right for two and as good as pizza gets. A house salad was crisp and the dressing perfect. The service was cheerful and prompt. As it was late on a Monday, we were the only customers, so it's hard to judge how it would have been with a crowd or what the noise level would have been. Tried them for the first time Thursday night and absolutely loved them! We ordered 3 small pizzas for takeout because we wanted to try a variety of flavors, and boy are we glad we did! We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower, the mushroom/bacon/onion, and the pineapple/bacon/hot honey - I couldn't choose a favorite if I tried! The flavors were awesome, the toppings were plentiful but not overwhelming, and the thin crust had a nice crunch to it! I am in walking distance and have already been to Otto's in Exeter about 7 times since they opened around two months ago. I absolutely love the crust and the end crust - so fresh and chewy and devoid of chemical taste. My first try was a regular cheese pizza with the mushroom mixture and basil - it was so incredibly delicious that I hard a hard time trying anything else. I have reserved my experiments with slices - I have tried multiple types, and when I tried the sausage and onion I absolutely loved the sausage and I am not a big sausage fan. I tried a small pizza with sausage and basil and that was to die for. Flavor to die for. Great service and ambience. And the cookies at the register aren't bad either! I have become addicted and am spreading the word - it's a must try. read more

After a great day out in Exter, we went to the local Pizza restaurant to unwind and enjoy a slice of pizza. We were welcomed by two underaged girls who informed us the wait was 30 minutes. Understanding this we were told that we could go to the take out side and order right now instead of waiting. Great we thought. We were welcomed by unhappy employees who weren't doing much. We ordered 2 pizza, salad, bread, and meatballs. When we asked if they could turn off the two fans we were informed that the pizza machine causes smoke and the fans need to stay on to push the smoke out the open window. Keep in mind it's 45 degrees. When we went to move to a new table a random employee comes over and tells us "no, you can't sit here. We made a mess and aren't cleaning it up tonight." Then we were ushered back to the main area and sat COLD, upset, and confused by this customer service. As we waited we tried to push the feeling that we had made a mistake away- until 10 minutes later we get a call that they have a table ready for us. We then sat for 30 minutes wondering why our food was taking so long. When I asked about an update the underage girl made me spell the simple name (5 letters) for reference. Then we asked for three cups of water - which this is the kicker for me- WAS TOLD THAT WE NEED TO BUY WATER BOTTLES SINCE WE SAT ON THIS END. We were not allowed tap water since we order on the take out side. Let's remember this side is filled of tables and booths. It's not a take out side it's an extension (rethink your business). Stunned by this we looked wide eyed at this girl by her comment. Customer serve is key to any business and I'll say these two young girls who are either the owners kids working don't have it. Please hire someone older and willing to understand that customers are important. Otto take out section isn't just take out- please rethink your business model for the extension of the restaurant because you lost customers tonight. read more
