I had a craving for an Italian meatball sub so ordered one to pick up a couple nights ago. I picked it up and brought it home. It looked great as expected. I was unpleasantly surprised that it was just luke warm. I bit into it and was so taken aback from it's flavor. It had the strangest weird flavor I have ever experienced when having a meatball or eggplant sub. It was a powerful flavor that made it so unappealing. I figured out it was Cinnamon and a whole lot of cinnamon. I thought I was eating pastry with meatballs. Terrible! I called and spoke to owner or manager and He explained that he had new younger cooks in training. He said sorry about that.. That is fine but he could have offered to replace it with a normal flavored one that too much cinnamon was dumped into. I paid for a threw out a sub that I'd be embarrassed to serve. A professional establishment would have offered to replace the one they messed up. I will be going elsewhere from now on. read more

We now make this our Friday night dinner weekly. We aren't alone because the place is jumping but they move fast. We call in our pizza and salad and Zoila , when we arrive it comes out. Delicious. The salads are why I am posting. The Greek salad is fantastic. I use my own dressing at home but I get TWO DAYS from the salads and they have a mix of lettuce that makes me so happy. Badger's Island Pizzeria makes decent pizza and it's a cute little place. The slices seemed a little small but the fact that you can order pizza by the slice is a big plus. Toppings are fresh & my guess is that all slices start off as cheese pizza and are then made to order with whatever topping you want. My wife thought they skimped on the sauce but I didn't notice. One of the cool things about this pizzeria is the location. They're across the street from Hebert Brothers, which is one of the best local spots to pick up some seafood. Although I wasn't blown away by the pizza, it's hard to seriously judge the place based on a couple of reheated slices so I'll be back. Maybe next time I'll go for a chicken parm sub or some linguini with meatballs. And they're open for breakfast. Until 11AM, you can get the usual omelets, pancakes, french toast, etc. If you're hungry while traveling between Portsmouth and the Kittery outlet malls, you'll probably get the best deal at Badger's Island Pizza. read more

The pizza is really, really good. They are not skimpy with the topping add-ons, either. However we order delivery from them frequently and something seems to be wrong every time. Last time we ordered a steak bomb..it was literally a soggy sub roll with JUST steak..no other toppings. They kindly offered to bring a new one, or to give us a 1/2 credit for the item (ehh). We ended up calling for take out the following evening, and they gave us a different dinner order for free instead. Hence the 4 stars for customer service. I would not recommend anything besides the pizza at Badgers island. We have tried various dinner choices there and they have always been sub-par. read more

This place has it all (including lobster rolls)! Calzones are filled with a ton of meat and cheese. The salads are made fresh with grilled chicken. The sandwiches and wraps are a great choice for lunch. The only downside of Badger's Island Pizza is the fact that they don't have desserts. You would think with a menu as diverse as theirs, they would at least have cookies or brownies. Delivery is pretty fast and the staff is always friendly. But friendly if curious looks from the faces of the locals on break kept me company while I waited a few minutes for my order. (What, is he out catching the lobstah himself?) No. Making up a nicely sized side of fresh battered fries (enough to feel like I ate something, but not to fill me up but not too much to enjoy the roll) I wasn't expecting for the price. The lobster was sweet, fresh, & enough, garnished w/iceberg & chopped tomatoes. Small location close to the memorial bridge and downtown Portsmouth. Staff was managing a large amount of to-go's when I arrived but greeted me quickly and took my order. Although it took some time to get my food out the staff was appologetic and made me feel welcome. If youre there at the right time there may even be some free samples to be had! The delivery people are real nice but I have to say something about my orders being messed up every other time. I don't usually complain but I got bacon in my calzone that was not edible.They even admitted it and said they replaced it with good bacon.That's fine but you would think they would offer to make it right but all I got was a "sorry about that". It was much better when the Greeks owned it but my kids still enjoy it so we go here. Tonight we ordered food to go so we could head over to the play in the park- we ordered 2 pizzas, a sub, garlic bread and a Greek Salad- No onions as I am highly allergic and will go into anaphylactic shock. A friend of mine waited while we left to go get seats at the park. When we sorted all the food my salad had onions under neath the purple cabbage which I could not eat due to my allergy--- and the loaded steak and cheese sub (onions and peppers for him) had nothing on it but steak and a little cheese- my garlic bread which I asked for cheese on came soaked in garlic oil and No cheese. The pizzas were fine. When I called and asked for the manager Kellie Huddleston, she was extremely rude, in a condescending manner asked me what I wanted her to do about it. I said just credit the sub as I will not be returning to the establishment because of her rude response and tone with me. She said great that's fine and then proceeded to harass me and go as far as saying I lived on 6 Cutts road and threw onion rings at her driver. First off everyone in Kittery who knows me or my family knows I've never lived on cutts road-just to belittle a person like that and be so condescending when I could have ended up in the hospital for your mistake had I eaten it; then I can assure you - you would not have gotten a phone call or Yelp review- it would have been a phone call from my attorney. Calzone's are very good. They really do take up half a pizza pan. I've had their pizza many times, which is good, but this was the first time I tried a calzone. I recommend the meat calzone. Price for small calzone was $9 but I got 2 meals from it. read more

Good food. Substantial portions for the price. Wife got a "small" calzone that took up half of a large pizza pan. I got the lasagna, which was a bit different than normal lasagna. They used thick fettucinni noodles rather than the large lasagna noodles. OWNER IS RUDE! Food was gross!! I ordered a chicken parm sub toasted w/extra cheese. When it finally arrived over an hour later, it was soggy & had a wad of melted cheese at the bottom....totally gross. I called to ask for a refund of my $16 (including tip & a salad) & the person who answered kept talking over me & wouldn't really listen to what I had to say. They called to owner to ask about the refund. He called me back & w/a stern voice told me that I told his employee to shut up(I did not) & that he wasn't going to "allow a customer to speak to his employee like that". He wouldn't listen to my side of the story, refused to refund me & told me never to order from his store again! Who does that? Such horrible customer service & yucky food! read more

Its your typical house of pizza, parking can be tough, Quality has been slipping last few times I have been my items have been put together real sloppy (think McDonalds when they are busy).
