Ordered 1 pizza, 2 salads, were told it would be delivered in 1 hour, 1 hr 20 mins later when we called to check in, we were told it's on its way, 30 mins after that when we called- were told it hadn't even been made yet. You shouldn't accept orders if you are this behind. I understand that understaffing happens, but this is absolutely absurd. When we asked for a refund we were hung up on. What kind of customer service is this?!? Shouldn't you have apologized?! We are a family of 4 with 2 kids, it's late at night and our kids need to eat dinner. My husband and I have been stopping here for several months now.After years of never trying it ...we found a gem.I love LOVE their onion rings and french fries ...alllll verieties of those delectable fries (plain..spicey..sweet potato).And dont even get me started about the juicy, Huge, freshly fried chicken fingers...Sooo Good! When I order food, first and foremost I expect it to be HOT, and when you get a delivery time I believe it should be delivered at that time not 20 minutes after. I ordered the chipotle chicken sub the large size and that was very impressed. I was a little worried looking at the other reviews but you always have to give it your own try. The place is really small but they do have parking on the side. The staff was very friendly and helped me pick something that is good on the menu. So I decided for the chipotle chicken sub and it was delicious. It was a little bit spicy, but I like spicy and if you're into that too then I would highly suggest this. I will definitely be returning and probably getting a pizza next time. So maybe I'll review them again on their Pizza, who knows. Highly recommended if you're in the area looking for a quick lunch spot. Side Note: My friends did order the buffalo chicken bites which came with blue cheese. They liked the chicken, however they would've liked for the bites to come with carrots or celery. It seemed like that was a additional charge when they don't think it should be. I thought the food here was fantastic. My colleagues order here regularly, and today invited me to order with them. I went on yelp to see " what was good", and became trepidatious when I saw so many negative reviews. No idea what those are about. I ordered the Cobb salad- terrific value for the amount of food. Bacon was cooked perfectly, finely chopped lettuce, cukes cut thin, avocado was epic, and it came with a huge portion of dressing. Chicken was flavorful and tender. The other meals in our order were all perfectly cooked and this place is my new go to. I'm told the Asian salad and the California wrap are fan faves, but I have my eye on a calzone for next time. Also, to the psycho path that complained about the noise of the delivery cars- get a life, and get out of downtown! Great job, Breadbox team! read more

Hi Foodie Fam, ordered Fried Ravioli's and A Meatball sub. From the get go the order taker over the phone made me feel like I was right beside him, fast, accurate, polite, confirmed order, delivery time was a lot earlier then told!!!!!!! My food was perfect, the Ravioli's had a very nice crisp to them without being hard, the dipping sauce was on point as well. My Meatball sub, oh my gosh, lightly toasted, plenty of Cheese and Meatballs and sauce, the sub roll was soooooo fresh and every bite was delightful. My only regret was I was unable to take pictures. Take & Bake Pizza - Awesome!! Got a large grilled chicken, broccoli, diced tomatoes and garlic T&B tonight and it was FAN-tastic!! This is the only place I know that does this, in Portsmouth or anywhere, and they do a great job of it. The broccoli florets were petite and plentiful, the tomatoes nicely diced, the chicken chunky and again, plentiful, and the garlic, just the right amount and well-spread around. Take it home and bake it just right to your desired degree of done-ness (I happen to like mine a bit on the well-cooked side, more than many pizza places tend to cook them), and it can't be served any hotter than when it comes out of your own oven! this place has gone down hill. i use to go here all the time and the sandwiches were great. my friend wanted to go to dominos and I honestly wish we did. i got a Italian sub and buffalo chicken tenders. the tenders were soggy with zero crunch and the Italian sub had no veggies I ordered all the veggies and hots and mayo and I opened the sand which up and the sliver of lettuce and one or two chopped tomatoes were a joke and I'm not exaggerating the amount of veggies were laughable. honestly this sub was the worst. don't waste the calories. read more

The Bread Box gets worse and worse every time. I try to give this place the benefit of the doubt because they're close so it's a little convenient but every time I get my take order, it reminds me why I am not a fan. The salads are all lettuce with a couple of tomatoes and a couple of cucumbers underneath the pound of lettuce and then some stale croutons. The wraps come with soggy warm lettuce and completely falling apart. Something is always wrong with your order, and the quality is just terrible. The wings are good and tonight I was looking forward to the crispy wings with sauce on the side. Well after waiting 35 minutes for our food, the wings were covered in sauce, soggy and not what or how we ordered. Once again not impressed. I've got to agree with Zoe on this. My first Bread Box pizza was pretty average. We were in the mood for pizza at work yesterday and really wanted delivery. But Bread Box said it would be at least an hour, so we picked it up. This may not be a fair test of the place because we got a veggie pizza (and a plain pizza really tells you if they know what they're doing), but that's what we got. There were some huge chunks of broccoli on the pizza, but the crust, sauce, and cheese were average. I've heard so many good things about the Bread Box that I think we'll have to give them another shot. Something must have been wrong because I know some offices in town that live on Bread Box. I want to try a plain pizza, a cheese steak, a chicken parm sub, and a calzone. Maybe not all at once, though. I'll update this after another try and we'll see how it goes. One last thing about Bread Box, it's a bit far from downtown if you want to walk there. No problem if you're driving or getting delivery, but it's about a half mile walk from downtown and I think there's better pizza downtown. read more

*edit* I've now gone there twice in the last month and both times my sub has been made incorrect, once I asked for extra oil (they don't put much) and pickles with tomatoes for veggie, got home no pickles and saturated in oil. Went back to get a new one. A few weeks later got the same sub as last time only I figured not to ask for extra oil, got home missing the tomatoes, no oil and hardly any pickles. It would probably get made correctly if they were actually paying attention and looking at their tickets to what they are making instead of chatting up a storm. I probably won't be back. For what your paying you should get quality product. While they have good food sometimes the service can be slower and if you call and ask for delivery (like the advertise) they don't deliver to more than 3/4 of the town so as much as their food is good their slower in store service and their lack of areas they deliver to makes me look to other places. My husband is from the Boston area and has his favorite sub shop in Lynnfield MA. I am from San Francisco and hardly ever order a sub. People from the west coast don't call a sandwich a sub and we hardly EVER have a sandwich unless it's on a sour dough roll. We ordered two subs from The Bread Box and both were amazing.
