The one time I went there I got a buffalo chicken sub. Now this wasn't on the menu, but the guy behind the counter was really nice and said he could make it anyway. I would give the sub an A for effort but a C for taste. The lettuce was all yellowy n old tasting. Chicken was alright, kinda dry even though there was buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing on it. I probably wouldn't go back. I've heard their calzones are pretty good but haven't tried them... Maybe if I go back I would get one of those, but probably not a sub. read more

I ordered a large pizza with spinach, onions and extra sauce. I also asked for the pizza to be cooked well done. What I received was an undercooked, cold, mushy pie with barely any spinach or onions. I'm not trying to be unkind but this pizza was un edible and had to be discarded. The sauce they use tastes like spaghetti sauce, not pizza sauce. The box was soaked through. It was truly awful. Village Pizza is one of my go-to restaurants on campus. Probably because I have a meal plan, but also because I think they have great portions for their prices. I often get the chicken or steak tip salads, and find that their meat may sometimes be cooked a little off. It's either great or just meh. But it must be okay if I continue to get them every weekend. Meal plan is def worth it if you live on campus and are into sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and subs. read more

Village Pizza has a really good steak bomb sub. For me, that is their claim to fame, or what they have done best from all of what I have ordered there. You have to eat it hot and with extra cheese, the sub is really good. It is only a few miles down the road which is nice. The parking in the area is such a pain, but that is a college and campus challenge for you. Thank goodness that I don't park on the UNH campus for other reasons. Currently, that is likely my favorite eatery in Durham, NH. read more

There are three local, independent pizza joints in Durham. I almost feel Dominos might be better than the lot, but that's for another time. while DHOP and Wildcat can generate a semi-competant pie on a good night, I've had VP twice and.... meh. too much cheese, toppings not that tasty or fresh (?) and a boring crust. Add a huge pile of grease that you need to sponge off w/ like 5 paper towels and count me out. Honestly, if there weren't a huge supply of customers at UNH who are chronically wasted and nearly broke, I'm not sure they'd stay in business. For a decent local pizza joint, try wandering down 108 to Panzanella's or Jeremy's in Newmarket. read more

We order from here all the time and usually love the pizza. Tonight we had a lg xtra cheese n pepperoni that was so gross noone would eat iI bc the sauce tasted like watered down tomato paste and alot of sugar.....when I called I was told they couldn't do anything about it bc "no one else had had a problem with the sauce today" I am so angry, who tells a customer they wont even try to make it right. read more

Not bad, but not great, either. I went on a quiet night when the university was not in session, and the place was not busy. I had a chicken salad, and it was decidedly average. The beverage selection was kind of poor as well, and it's all bottled drinks - no fountain. Restaurant is connected to and operated by the same organization as Scorpion's, and you can hear the louder music being played at Scorpion's in the pizza restaurant. Also found out that you cannot order food from Scorpion's on the pizza side and enjoy it on the quieter pizza side. read more

Just kind of sucked. The food seemed all frozen and the pizza itself resembled the classic DiGorno frozen pizza which I would gladly pick over this "pie". The chicken Caesar wrap was a disgrace with brow lettuce and some rubbery a** chicken. The fries tasted like old oil was used to fry then. The wings...eh. I think Village Pizza is the best pizza on campus. The buffalo chicken pizza is especially great. I would take this over DHOP any day.
