We visit York every year and stay at a place with a kitchen. Our neighbor comment how much they like this place so we decided to give it a try. I got the lobster ravioli and the shrimp scampi ravioli and a container of lobster sauce. My only regret is we have never tried this place sooner! I heated the sauce up first and I couldn't stop tasting it. It was like pasta sauce and lobster chowder had a baby. I could literally eat it as a soup. The ravioli cooked up amazing! The pasta is nice and thick (in a good way!). We mix them together and poured the sauce over. Oh. My. Goodness. Seriously probably the best pasta I have ever had. The filling of both were amazing. The shrimp has a nice lemon flavor and the lobster was rich and savory. And the sauce was the perfect compliment. It even had chunks of lobster in it. I highly recommend this place of you have a stove and a pan. 10/10 will eat again! read more

I have come here two times before work. First time here, I ordered pretty much everything they had in their display case and everything I ate was great. I especially like the Cipollini onions, caprese salad, and the brussel sprouts. The guy working there also made me a chicken parmesan sandwich which was also good. The next time I came, I called ahead and asked for a couple of slices of lasagna to be heated up prior to me getting there. They did it for after a little confusion on the phone. The lasagna was not exactly what i was used to but it was tasty. Everything I have tried here has been really good and I hope to try other things they offer. read more

This is as good as it gets for delicious and ready to eat Italian food in the Kittery area. This area doesn't have much selection for good food, but this is definitely the spot to go. I love the ready to bake pizzas, the chicken and the eggplant parmigiana are super good as well. This is a place I'll be talking about to my friends, family and anyone visiting looking for a good place for fresh pasta and a grab and go lunch. My friend and I walked in and we were immediately greeted by Eric and he asked us if we've ever been here and etc. He told us a little about the store, and all his products. He was very knowledge and especially proud of his products. I am not sure if he is the owner, but he made it a place I would want to come back to time and again. He took the time to show us what kinds of pasta/ravioli they have, how it is made and with what ingredients. He also took the time to show us what just came out of the oven, and he encouraged us to sample the daily soups, and to taste the oil. This place will not be disappointed in the varieties of pasta or sauce choices. You will not be disappointed by the service. There are so many different kinds of ravioli, pasta and sauce! While we were about to pay for or pasta and ravioli, Eric was kind enough to give both my friend and me a complimentary bag of fresh pasta. We first said no, because we were not in it for free anything. We wanted to pay for our items, but he absolutely insisted and even helped us pick what kind of pasta would be suitable for our palette. The wild mushroom ravioli is AMAZING. No seriously, this is the best tasting ravioli I've ever had... and it was frozen! I still have the plum tomato and mozz to taste. read more

We have been shopping regularly here for years. Have spent a lot of money. Today I went to stock up--fresh pasta, several sauces, fresh soft cheeses, a quart of soup. Went to the counter with my eye on the deli case where as usual I was about to pick up several items like risotto cakes, tortellini salad; looked up and saw a girl (yes, I would normally say young woman, but she acted like a rude GIRL) with NO MASK. What? You're up against the counter waiting on customers and you have NO MASK? You do know you could be spreading the virus, right? So I asked. And she said there was NO MANDATE. I guess customer service and respect has to be mandated, too. I said that shouldn't matter...that I was wearing one. She SHRUGGED and said, "Until someone MAKES me I'm not wearing one." So I told her that I was no longer shopping there and left my stuff. The other employees cooking heard me. Maybe management? Nobody came out to my car to apologize so I guess it was okay with them. Must not need customers. I know it's hard to find good help these days but you should at least make them wear masks AND teach them how to treat customers. Here's another store in Kittery that I've been going to for a few years, and I've never had anything from Terra Cotta that I didn't love. They make their own Ravioli stuffed with all kinds of things, pasta, gnocchi, etc. There are a variety of deli-ish salads, and balsamic vinegar that comes in big containers and you refill your own bottle. The only problem I've ever had was that after I took my selection out of their freezer, it felt like it took forever to get rung up because only one person was working. The wait really wasn't bad but I wanted to get the frozen stuff home while it was still frozen, and I had a ten minute drive ahead of me. Now I just tell them what I'm buying and take it out of the freezer after I pay for it. Go here, then cross the street and go to Beach Pea, Golden Harvest, and Carl's. Your shopping is now done and you'll eat like royalty. read more

The staff was very friendly, the location is great, and the variety of options to choose from are many. If in the area and looking a a quick item to throw in the microwave for lunch, stop in. I loved how they had hot soups and other lunch items that do not have to be prepared at home. We took home a pre-packed seafood lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs. However-The spaghetti and meat were not as tasty as we had hoped for the price. However, considering the over all experience I would give them four stars-with the hopes of just a bad batch of pasta! read more

Fantastic little gem that I randomly ran into driving through Kittery. I had the Eggplant Napoleon and a Crab Cake and they were both fantastic. The chocolate chip cookie was the perfect follow up. Terra Cotta is one of our "go to" stops when you want to pick up dinner that will be easy to prepare and tasty. We always start with the cold case...the eggplant napoleon is my wife's favorite. I love the mushroom raviolis and their sauce. We've tried numerous heat n serve dinners from the fridge & their flatbreads are great. They always have great ideas and are always willing to help with cooking directions etc. it's pretty much a takeaway place. No dining room. Living in Portsmouth, I have heard great things about Terra Cotta Pasta, so I recently purchased the lobster ravioli's with the champagne cream sauce. I decided to add additional fresh lobster meat since I have a slight obsession with the succulent crustaceans. For the amount of money that I spent on this meal it was a complete let down. There was no flavor or substance to the champagne sauce and the ravioli tasted like something I could have picked up in the freezer section at Market Basket. We're new to the area, and so are in the process of checking out all the local digs. The owner at Terra Cotta once again reminded us of how much we love living in this little town. We got to sample the excellent, sweet balsamic that they offer in refillable containers, and were sent home with free dessert. The asparagus/mozz ravioli was excellent in the suggested olive and sun-dried tomato sauce. We braved traffic and ran across the road for a baguette at Beach Pea Bakery and had an excellent dinner for two for around 10 bucks. read more

All of the were fabulous - sundried tomato with olives, lemon and artichoke, and traditional basil. Clearly quality products for the home cook who is in a hurry. One of my favorite food shops, so lucky that it is close by.

I was swooning in this place from the minute I walked in. The options are almost overwhelming (especially when hungry). We thought there was a place to sit down and eat the amazing flatbreads, lasagne, and other enticing prepared foods, but that is true only in the summer. So as we sampled about 20 different cheeses, pastas, spreads, crackers, and vinegars, we selected frozen ravioli and linguine to take home, along with several of the amazing sauces available. So far we tried the goat cheese and eggplant ravioli, sweet potato ravioli, peppercorn linguine, and cappellini; also the basic marinara and the carmelized onion sauce - all excellent! The best thing is this over-the-top mushroom sauce, which is so thick it's also great for bread or crackers. We'll be regular customers from now on. read more

The staff is really super friendly but as others have said, the place is kind of small and gets busy and packed fast (especially in the summer, obviously.) Best lobster ravioli I have eaten hands down.

I had tried one of the frozen raviolis a couple of years back (bought from another store) and was disappointed as it was tough after cooking. Wanting to give Terra Cotta another try, I went in recently and purchased some fresh linguine (which I have yet to try) and two different kinds of stromboli. Both of the stromboli were tasteless. The dough was not right for the type of dish and was more like a biscuit texture. Perhaps they needed to be cooked more but I was told they were already cooked. Desserts were disappointing although the chocolate chunk cookie was probably the better of the purchases. read more
