After hearing great things about Town Pizza, I made a quick trek over to Town Pizza to try the pizza, after shopping at the outlets. The place is very casual with an order counter, open kitchen, and self serve seating. There's also a TV to watch. The menu offerings include traditional and gourmet pizzas, calzones, subs, appetizers, pasta dinners, subs, and salads. There are 20 toppings to choose from. They offer both Coke and Pepsi products from the cooler. The prices here are fair. I was going to order Zucchini on the pizza, but they were out, so I ordered a Large Eggplant Pizza ($10.75 plus tax) to bring home. The pizza was ready in about 15 minutes. However, when I was paying the total with tax came out to $11.66. I thought the meals tax was still 7 percent (not 8.5 percent, yet?) since I went to both McDonald's and Starbucks at the nearby outlets earlier in the day and paid 7 percent tax. Anyways, the pizza was really awesome and very tasty. The good thin crust was soft inside and firm outside and the toppings were abundant including the sauce, cheese, and thin sliced battered eggplant. I actually enjoyed 2 slices of the pizza (fresh out of the oven) in my ride before heading back home. This was definitely one of the better pizzas I've had in the State of Maine!

The Good: Homey, old-school, family-owned pizza place. Casual, low-key locals' spot to grab pizza & a pitcher of beer and watch the game or just chill. Tasty handmade pizza! Big menu with tons of pizza options, subs, calzones, and salads. The Bad: Nothing bad! It's not a fancy place but it's priced accordingly. The Food: We get the Kittery Pizza -- pepperoni, red onion & feta -- it's delicious! Their homemade crust is perfect -- not too thin, not to thick, it held up perfectly. Our fries were tasty as well. They also have several draft beers -- ask for a pitcher! The Service: No service, order at the counter and pay when you're done. Overall: Awesome, laid-back, comfortable, inexpensive place to kick back and watch the game with a pitcher of beer and enjoy homemade pizza -- it feels like your Italian grandma's house, which is great.

Tried Town Pizza the other day and was very very happy with it. The staff was nice. The Pepper Poppers Pizza was fantastic. The crust wasn't bland at all. I would note that they serve beer too. I will most likely have to have a beer there while waiting for my pizza next time. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try to anyone.

This is what you see from their front door while you wait for your delicious, copious, reasonably priced meal!

We love this place. It's a cozy, friendly place to get a copious, delicious, reasonably priced family meal!

Horrible service. Half the time they either have your order wrong or they forget to make it. Never a sorry

A friend recommended this spot when I visited Portsmouth ... knowing full well that I love dive…read morebars and vintage places. I would say this qualifies as both. The pizzas are a lot more expensive than I thought an individual-sized bar pie would be ... and the pizza was honestly nothing I couldn't make at home in a toaster. However, the 70's atmosphere didn't dissapoint. The best part about this place ... other than the fantastic waitress ... was the ice cold beer. It comes in a frosted mug and is some of the coldest beer I've had on draft. The prices weren't terrible at about $5 - $7 per glass, although the glasses seemed a little small. 12 ounce maybe. The best of the pizzas we ordered was the roasted garlic pie. The garlic was sweet but also had the typical garlic taste. Hamds down, I woukd order this again. The hamburger pizza was the worst of the bunch with dry, tasteless burger crumbles on it. I was surprised to see so many good reviews about it. Everything else was just okay. Next time, I'll try one of their more intrtesting pies like the bratwurst one. A one-topping pizza was $15 - $16 and was about the size of a frozen Cape Cod pizza from the supermarket. About the size of a dinner plate and enough for one person ... probably not to share. I heard interesting things about the wings bit I am not a fan of 'heat challenges', so we skipped those after hearing another customer say they could barely finish one due to the pepper. Overall, if you want to feel like you are in the late 70's/early 80's, this is the no frills vibe you'll get. Except in the 1970's the cost of one pizza today could buy dinner for an entire sports team back then. This place gets my recommendation, especislly if you like a thinner/crisper crust and well-done cheese/toppings. Places that have been around since Gerald Ford was President are a rare thing these days, especially off the highway in a town like Portsmouth.

We've been coming here for years, and it's always extremely consistent. Bar style little pizzas…read more Frozen glasses for beer so cold that ice will form in your beer- so cold and so good! Potato skins are the best I've ever had. Staff is always super friendly, but can be a little slow when they're busy, and understandable so. Apologies for no pictures, this review wasn't planned.
