Was here on a business trip for Oncology. The service was amazing, the waitress greeted with a smile. Seated right away and order taken on the spot. The facility have that New Hampshire's vibe with all those wood walls to wood stalls. Only con was the black Atlantic salom. It was a lil overly salted, rice was kind of mushy oshy, and broccoli was broccoli. My opinion, not worth $26, maybe should've gotten a bacon cheesebooger.

Kati the server was amazing!!!!! Love the vibes in the front, a HUGE beer selection. Can't complain about anything. 10/10 recommend

Kati was amazing!! Such a good attentive server who knew everything we inquired about, which says a lot about such a large menu! The vibes are wonderful outside, can't complain about anything. 10/10!

Waitress asked if I wanted fresh blueberries in my blueberry beer! Awesome appetizer of hummus and Tabbouleh with kalamata olives, peperoncini, feta, cucumbers. Great bar and beers on tap. Nice summer outside dining option.

Popped in as a group of 6 and found bar seats open. Tabitha was on her A-game and got us drinks and took our food orders. The tabouli and hummus appetizer was awesome! Great pita and fresh olives, pepperoncinis, and tomatoes. The hummus was great. For my meal me and my gf both got crispy chicken salads and they are a good deal with the big portions. All sauces and dressings are made in house too, the Ranch was A+. My uncle enjoyed his reuben. My aunt enjoyed her nachos. My gram and other aunt enjoyed pepperoni pizza and a house salad. Overall we had great service and good food and drinks. Tabitha is a damn good bartender. Ty.

My wife and I stopped in last night as we were staying across the street at the Hampton Inn. The place was hopping busy! We chose to sit at the bar, so we can kabitz occasionally with the staff. My wife found a really nice boysenberry sour that she loved and I ordered their 603 double IPA. We tried a different pizza this time than our normal, the blue buffalo chicken pizza. Our pizza came out relatively quickly, and was absolutely delicious! We really appreciated our server and her friendly & professional service as well as her information about the Exeter area. There's a lot of worst places you could go to, we've been to them, this is pretty good!

Teddy had a hot dog & fries off the kids menu with a lemonade. He ate it all. There are about 12 beers on tap. I was happy to have a Maine Beer Co. Lunch. The quesadilla I chose was delicious-it came with sour cream & salsa on the side. No complaints. Plenty of parking in the shared lot. So glad my daughter recommended Tailgate Tavern. Would not hesitate to return.

The nachos were alright, not the best I've eaten, but they were fine. Not pictured is the fried chicken salad and that was also fine! Again, everything tasted good, but just wasn't overly special! It's bar food and if you want good bar food, then here you go! They do have a happy hour, but I don't know what's on the menu. Though it's 3-5 pm every day and 3-6 on Thursdays. I think that's pretty good and I'd be interested in coming back to try some more appetizers with a drink! The server was attentive and the food came out quickly. The decor is fun and definitely reminds me of a tailgate! Again, if you want bar food, this is a pretty good option in the Exeter/Stratham area (though I personally don't eat a lot of bar food!).

Statey has just recently opened up, which replaced State Street & while I live in Vegas now this definitely was on my list of stops while home visiting. I finally got to go in last night to check it out. It is very big & kinda open but not too open around the dinning room area. They have plenty of seating on the floor & around the bar. It was great to see Mo a long time bartender still working for them. They were having karaoke night & they have a nice little stage out back for the "maybe soon to be famous singers to perform on". It started @ 7/8pm (can't remember) & went to midnight. No cover charge to get in. It wasn't very packed here on the Thursday night I went, but I have heard that it does get very packed to the point that you may not be able to get in. So keep that in mind when heading over to check them out! I didn't get anything to eat as I was not hungry. My cousin got the fish sandwich with tatter tots. He said his sandwich was good & I had a few tatter tots which were yummy! They still have their famous lobster roll for a crazy, reasonable, too good to be true price! My Mom had asked me to check on this for her as she loves their (State Street) lobster rolls. I do want to go back before I head home to have one as I have in the past & it was very tasty & they fill the bun up with plenty of lobster meat. They have one of my favorite flavored vodkas, blueberry so I was drinking those up. It was nice & cozy in there, temperature was just right. The bathrooms were clean & they have more then one stale inside their rest room so I never had to wait. State Street had less bathrooms & that would make for a long wait when needing to relieve the bladder. I saw some familiar faces while I was in there. Their door guy for that night, Aaron was a really nice guy. Friendly & smiling all the time. You definitely need to check this place out. Stop by for a drink (or two) and/or a bite to eat! I will be back before heading home & on my future trips back to NH!! So happy that they brought State Street back!!!! Thank You!!!

We looked at it today and I think the menu looks really touristy, sort of like Weathervane or Newick's. Lots of fried seafood platters, and not much that seems interesting or creative, but maybe there's a page of specials that isn't in the window. This could be a good move for the owners - summer's coming and in Portsmouth, that's tourist season. Tourists come to Portsmouth and say things like "I'm on the ocean, I want seafood." Portsmouth isn't on the ocean but that's okay, whatever makes the tourists happy. I look forward to trying Portside Seafoods and I hope it's surprisingly interesting and fun. Quick edit (7/10/10): Portside Seafoods was open for a month or two, was sold, and is now under renovation. Again.

"I do not want a pickle ... I just wanna ride my motorsickle."…read more Dropped in with my old man and my brother and sister-in-law for some brew and some hot food. Three inches of snow had fallen in the last four hours; cars' tires were spinning a bit, people were slippin and slidin on the slick of the downtrodden snow on the sidewalks, and a general white-ness filled the air and the sky. You could see the cold. Which is why, of course, that I was in desperate need for fried pickles. Mmm-mmm. Pickle chips doused in batter and fried to a deep delicious golden brown with Texas tartar sauce and buffalo wing dip. Tasty. There's a good selection of beers in this joint and, to my delight, the left coast was represented with Anchor Steam and Sierra Nevada. I opted for a Smutty Nose Pale Ale with my pickles. The pulled pork quesadillas were tender and tasty with a sweet, tangy BBQ sauce and pepper jack with a huge dollop of sour cream on the side. My only gripe was that they were served on a thin piece of butcher paper that, upon getting more and more damp in the process of eating the damn thing, would come off in pieces and inevitably get ingested with the rest of the forkful. %DV of Wood Pulp? 100! Apparently there's a FREAKIN' MASSIVE platter of orgiastic proportions called THE SQUEALER. I can't say that I'd ever try to partake in this, but essentially it's a veritable shitload of pork on a plate and you gotta eat it ALL in an hour. If you're able to complete this formidable task, you get it free. A line of photographs by the front door shows some people who had accomplished the feat and others who had not. What was amusing to me was how many big, fat guys wearing baseball hats failed, and how many cute young women emerged victorious. Yay, you go, girl! Enough. Good place, pleasant atmosphere, good food. Pass me those damn fried pickles, please.
