Sat at the bar with my girlfriend and ordered a few drinks to start. We were seated right in front of the Salad Station. We had ordered a light meal, some garlic knots and a couple of salads, mine with chicken. The waitress had asked if I wanted the knots to come out first and I said to please bring everything out together. After 30 minutes of waiting the garlic knots finally came out as I expected them to take the longest. Little did I know I would be waiting an additional 20 plus minutes for our simple salads to come out. Overall I waited almost an hour for our salads. The salads came out and we eagerly anticipated having a nice light meal together. After looking at my girlfriends salad, I noticed mine had absolutely no Cesar dressing on it. As I continued to paw through it, I took my first bite into the driest chicken I have had yet to date. I thought to myself, okay that was a thinner piece let me indulge in a meatier section.... To no avail it was just as dry. I could not and did not want to eat my salad or wait another prolong period of time for the next one to come out. The kicker was us sitting in front of the salad station. We were watching the worker make multiple salads then proceeding to make small talk and childish banter with the fellow staff workers. I get water cooler talk, but all things consider you have customers. This unfortunately added to our wait time for a incredibly sub par experience. The station was littered with food all over the place, nor did they turn away from food to cough into their elbow. The individual would touch computer screens with gloves that people have been touching with barehands, while continuing to make salads. I've been a patron at the Exeter location since opening and didn't think what would be another great experience turn horribly wrong. It was a Monday and things were slowing down pretty well so we expected a simple meal and easy experience that I have know to enjoy there. It simply was not, I took two bites out of my salad and was dissatisfied. My girlfriend did not finish hers either as it's as if she got all of my Cesar dressing. The attention to detail and cleanliness was lacking this evening. The Moose in Exeter is not up there as my top local spot anymore. Hopefully it's a one off and if I make it back, maybe things will be better. read more

When I went to inform the manager, the staff tried to talk over me and I asked her to step away while I speak to him and the manager said toe not to speak to his staff. WOW. My first visit to the Thirsty Moose left a lot to be desired. We had a group of 14 people and each table seats 6 people. We attempted to put 7 people at the table by putting someone on the end of the table and were told it was a firecode violation, so the extra 2 people sat a neighboring table. At this point, a waitress came a kicked the 2 people off a third table and made no effort to reseat the 2 paying customers. The table sat empty for 20 minutes and then she seats 2 people at the table. Also, the Fish Tacos weren't very good. Maybe you will have better luck with this place. read more

My husband and I go here all the time. Their beer list is amazing and if you like sour beer, like me, they will have a few to choose from. Their apps and entrees don't disappoint and the wait staff will always go above and beyond. We went on 7/4th and Madi, their manager was welcoming, and made sure our experience there was spectacular. Came in on a Monday after 1pm. We got the tail end of a weekday lunch hour so we found a high table inside easily. Overall, a great casual spot with a nice tap selection and range of food options. Lots of seating outside, less seats inside but it is still decently sized considering it's the Exeter area. Tons of flat screens decorate the walls so that the masses can watch a variety of whatever sport(s) your heart desires. The staff is friendly and attentive. They were more than happy to provide beer suggestions and tastings. My first choice of beer "kicked", meaning it went bad, so our server graciously offered close options for me to try. Nice to see they don't try to just get rid of any "skunked" beer. Ended up enjoying a cold Tangerine Kona beer on tap that had a slight hop at the finish. My friend enjoyed a more subtle beer that resembled a Stella, still refreshing and tasty. Not too hungry, we shared the Brats that sat in Stella beer, served with a delicious sauerkraut and a bowl of whole grain mustard (see photo). Very happy they obliged and substituted the meal's fries with carrots and celery instead--I love veggies and a good crunch! Some of the Yelp reviews talk about the place being packed and the food being so-so or not so great. I liked the food. Pretty reliable pub food. This was our second visit, on a Wednesday night, when we just didn't feel like cooking. We were seated with minimal wait (about 5 minutes) right at dinner time. Three separate hosts touched base with us. That's probably a good thing, but seems a bit inefficient. Ordered the pretzel appetizer, which is positively amazing. Careful, you WILL burn your fingers. Woodstock Brewery was there and pushing their product. That was good fortune as we netted a glass along with a very nice beer. Sadly, the Autumnal kicked just prior to my order, so I went with the Double Pig's Ear. Totally worth it. Main course came quickly, handsome pizza for the missus, and a Burganzola for me. Sometimes, that cheese can be a bit strong. This one went in the opposite direction, with barely any flavor. I traded up for the onion rings as a side, and frankly, it's time to change the fryolater oil. Service was attentive and professional. The seating is poorly laid out and cramped, and it was a bit chilly (in fairness, it was colder than a witch's t** outside!). We passed on dessert. To be blunt, this was our second trip to this site and I was a bit underwhelmed. While our server was good, some of the others, and the hostess were cackling about. It was unprofessional and unappealing (much like the stale oil flavor of the onion rings). Standard sports bar, but they won't be stealing anybody's business with this quality. read more

You basically have to chase down the bartender since she figured that everyone else besides the patrons at the bar should be looked after first. Further, she wasn't particularly friendly. Great beer selection food not so great. The menu had a great looking selection, but nothing we got was as good as it sounded. We ordered 2 appetizers. The Buffalo chicken dip tasted like it had come from a can and the chili had obviously been sitting in a pot for a very long time. The meat in both was so broken down it was pretty much unrecognizable. We were sitting at the bar and could see the person making the salads. As soon as we ordered I saw her making one like my husband had ordered. I joked that it was his salad and he said no way we hadn't even received our apps yet. Well it was his. It sat on the counter for well over 20 minutes before it was served. My fish and chips came with cold rubbery French fries. I do not tolerate heat lamp fries so sent them back. My waitress brought another serving right away. Cold again. She had them cook some more and on the third try I got nice hot fries. They were nothing special, but at least they were hot. The place was really busy and our waitress warned us in advance that she was working the whole bar by herself. She sure did work. She was very efficient and never stopped moving. We didn't find the wait excessively long and everyone around us was getting their food and service in a timely manner as well. Double kudos to her. Overall the food was like a prepackaged Denny's restaurant at a regular brew pub prices. read more

Pros- The atmosphere is very nice. They have picnic tables and cornhole outside. The restaurant is clean. They have a large assortment of beers on tap. Our appetizer was excellent! We ordered the huge soft pretzel and it was crazy good. Really hot, perfect softness. The cheese was very good. The mustard hard the bite of hot mustard that you get at Chinese restaurants. Cons- Our Service was horrendous. Never before have I had a worse experience with wait staff. She visited us once and got our drink order. 15 minutes later she took our food order. We didn't see her again until we were almost done our meal. We didn't even have utensils! My boyfriend didn't get a refill on his drink until we were practically finished. My fish and chips were fried well on the outside but the batter on the inside was very much underdone and still raw. My boyfriends pastrami had almost as much mustard (the same one as the pretzel) on it as there was pastrami. Overall, we won't be back. There are much better places to eat in the area. read more

They seem to have all the safety protocols in place and the service, food, beer and atmosphere are excellent. You still have a few ignorant people who believe they are above having to be responsible people and are to good to wear a face mask. I guess you run into a holes everywhere now though. Great takeout order tonight. The person taking the order was detail oriented and polite. The food was delicious. Husband had garlic knots and onion soup with the Gorgonzola cheeseburger. Last night my family and I had a really nice experience sitting out on the deck. We were spaced far away from other tables, the server was wearing a mask, and gloves when serving food and drinks. We felt really comfortable and really appreciative that the staff took such good care of us. Sanitizer machines at the entrance and near the bathrooms too! Given everything that's going on I want everyone to be really respectful and grateful to the restaurants opening and the staff that's willing to risk their lives to serve you. This place just opened and with the weather being so nice I want people to understand that wait times are going to be longer, and to not take it out on the hosts or staff if it takes much longer to be seated and receiving food and drinks. They are figuring out a whole new system and it's not easy. Things that guests can do would be leaving after having their meal instead of lingering for an extra hour at peak dinner times and NOT ordering another drink. It's not the staffs fault your reservation has now extended an extra 30 minutes, it's because no one is getting out of their seats. Consider your server, maybe don't make them split 5 checks for the table, don't ask for a meal with a bunch of different modifications and ALWAYS tip 20%. read more
