Even after that it didn't get better. I gave her a 10% tip because I felt that reflected level of service provided. 3 stars because I would not return. The inside was packed, too many people sitting too close, and the noise level was deafening. The outside seating was perfect. It was 61 degrees and the heat lamps did the job and kept us comfortable. Reggae music played on the high quality sound system. Our server was delightful, no complaints there. The Americanization of Asian dishes is quite evident here. None of our food was enjoyable and it all came out cold...very cold. Our Korean ribs were "fall off the bone" but the flavor was peculiar. Something was missing...The Haddock Bao Buns, served ice cold, was drowned in creamy sauce. The bed of seaweed salad was OK but did not enhance the haddock. The real loser of evening was the salmon curry, it's as if the recipe came from Stouffers...it was so bland and unbalanced. We were surprised to get charged an additional fee for using a credit card. Finally had a chance to visit Southport Kitchen & Bar, and enjoyed a very nice dinner with friends. There have been a number of restaurants in this space previously and happy to report that the interior is redone and more inviting and setup like a bar/restaurant, rather than a living room with couches and low tables or high tops. We dined early but still found the restaurant busy, so be sure to book a reservation and plan ahead. We chose to eat outside and had a pleasant waitress. Cocktails were good, potent and arrived quickly. We tried the dumplings and cauliflower to start, and enjoyed both of them. I'm always a little worried when a restaurant offers a large menu with very varied dishes (Asian, Chinese, Italian...), but they seemed to do a good job here. We enjoyed both starters. As these portions were pretty large , we opted to share the double burger which was very tasty. Plenty of food for us. If I need to find fault, we found the music from the speaker outside just a bit too loud. Talking becomes difficult. The inside dining room seemed even louder, and we were glad we were not sitting inside. This was a good experience overall, and a nice option for dining in Rye. Formerly The Office Lounge, SouthPort Kitchen + Bar opened recently in Rye on US Route 1 north of Breakfast Hill Rd. This local restaurant and bar is fairly cozy with dim lighting, TVs, offering seating up at the full service bar and table seating along the walls and windows and high top seating. There is also an outside patio too. The place has been pretty busy since they opened in early June 2024. As for food, the menu offerings include a variety of shareables, salads, smashburgers, sandwiches, shrimp tacos, pork belly bao buns, wood fired pizzas, dinner entrees (pasta dishes, seafood, steak frites, risotto, ribs, cauliflower steak). The pricing is moderate high. For drinks, they offer 6 beers on draft, bottle & can beers, wine, cocktails, martinis, mixed drinks and after dinner drinks. After spending time near the beach, I headed over to SouthPort Kitchen + Bar for some food. However, since it was after 9pm, the kitchen was essentially closed and they were only serving their pizza menu and drinks from the bar. I took a seat at the bar and got an ice water. I decided on the Ricotta Be Killin Me Pizza ($17 plus tax), which came out hot within 13 minutes after ordering. The 10" pizza was topped with pink vodka sauce, crumbled sausage, cheese blend, caramelized onion, post oven ricotta, fresh basil on top of a firm thin crust with round slightly charred edges. I enjoyed 5/8 of the pizza since there were plenty of tasty rich toppings on the pizza and they gave me a box. The check was $17.89 (cash)/$18.45 (card) with tax and before tip. Overall, the pizza was pretty good and the atmosphere was very loud. I would stop in again earlier in the evening for one of their dinner entrees. I really wanted to try the Pasta Alla Vongole or the Chicken Parm Alla Vodka. I now know the vodka sauce at SouthPort Kitchen is the real deal, unlike a "jeweler owned" NY style pizza place in Derry which sells a Vodka Chicken Parm on their menu, but uses ordinary marinara sauce. I haven't been back there since after a staff member talked down to me after I questioned them about no cream in the sauce mix. El Presidente should really visit here once there are more reviews. read more

Good spot for dinner or drinks. The food was enjoyed by all 4 of us. The spicy fun guy pizza was delicious!! Smothered with pepperoni, fresh mushrooms, and hot honey, yum!! The special birria tacos were good but kind of skimpy looking compared to mexican style. The chicken parm is fantastic looking and was enjoyed. Lastly the wild mushroom ravioli dish was good too. The apps were ok, the buffalo wings were good but at about 2+$ for each wing you wouldn't need to dish out another $5 for blue cheese and ranch. The avocado artichoke dip app was good but we needed to ask for extra pita. Pretty good carrot cake. Our service was good and i liked the vibe inside but the value isnt there to justify this being a regular spot ill go to often. read more

We have been going to Southport since they opened for our girls dinners. We order a lot of food and drinks and always tip generously. Tonight after we didn't order food immediately we were informed that our table had a 90 minute time limit on it. (Parties of 4 are given 90 minutes, parties of 6 -2 hours) While for most this might be plenty of time we typically order apps, drinks, more drinks than dinner. We were very rushed, only ordered dinner and given our check three minutes before our 90 minutes was up. We won't be returning. read more

Saw Southport on Phantom Gourmet, decided to take a little road trip. I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. Food was top notch, service was amazing. Wait staff was very attentive, staff constantly stopped to check on everything, drinks, quality of food. Bar service was fast with quality cocktails. Dumplings are a must have! Pizza is ridiculously good. Restaurant is small so plan accordingly. Southport is a gem! read more

This is the 1st review I've ever written. After several visits my good review of Southport changed. Here's why : I ordered a speciality drink, I had ordered previously. This time It had an overwhelming taste and I politely sent it back and asked for a regular version without the cherry bitters. She dumped the 1st drink and brought me the new one. At the end of the night we realized we had been charged for both drinks. When I inquired the server said yes, "I am charging you for it because there is nothing wrong with the drink, you just didn't like it. " The owner said "if you go to a movie and don't like the movie do you get a refund? " What ? I'm not at a movie theatre I'm at your restaurant. You charged us for a drink you threw away and never indicated you were charging for. It's not about the 14.00 . I really like the food and the place is always busy so kudos to them. Unfortunately, it is so loud in there that you can't have a conversation because you have to yell. Also, there's no foyer and the hostess allowed a group of about 8 or 10 to stand next to the high tops by the door (we were at one of them) until their table was ready. Had the smash burger and it did not disappoint and my husband had the rib-eye shaved steak truffle sandwich which did not disappoint either. Kudos to this quaint restaurant!!!! My wife and I have been to Southport Kitchen twice now with reservations for a third this coming week. Everything that we've had to date has been excellent including pizza, spicy tuna tostones, crab cakes and the short ribs were nothing short of amazing. The service was pleasant and efficient without being overbearing. This is a very busy, popular place and it can be a bit noisy, but that seems to fade a bit as you dig in the the deliciousness. Reservations are a must, but we've had luck with seating at the bar without them. read more

First off, I don't usually leave reviews, but felt compelled after eating here. The food is incredible and the service and setting is great. You could be wearing formal attire or be fresh off the beach in flip flops and still feel comfortable and welcome here. The pizza is amazing!
