The food, service and ambiance was superb. We got the dumplings for an appetizer and then split the truffle shuffle and chicken pizza. The drinks were delicious as well, and very prompt service. We will definitely return!

Formerly The Office Lounge, SouthPort Kitchen + Bar opened recently in Rye on US Route 1 north of Breakfast Hill Rd. This local restaurant and bar is fairly cozy with dim lighting, TVs, offering seating up at the full service bar and table seating along the walls and windows and high top seating. There is also an outside patio too. The place has been pretty busy since they opened in early June 2024. As for food, the menu offerings include a variety of shareables, salads, smashburgers, sandwiches, shrimp tacos, pork belly bao buns, wood fired pizzas, dinner entrees (pasta dishes, seafood, steak frites, risotto, ribs, cauliflower steak). The pricing is moderate high. For drinks, they offer 6 beers on draft, bottle & can beers, wine, cocktails, martinis, mixed drinks and after dinner drinks. After spending time near the beach, I headed over to SouthPort Kitchen + Bar for some food. However, since it was after 9pm, the kitchen was essentially closed and they were only serving their pizza menu and drinks from the bar. I took a seat at the bar and got an ice water. I decided on the Ricotta Be Killin Me Pizza ($17 plus tax), which came out hot within 13 minutes after ordering. The 10" pizza was topped with pink vodka sauce, crumbled sausage, cheese blend, caramelized onion, post oven ricotta, fresh basil on top of a firm thin crust with round slightly charred edges. I enjoyed 5/8 of the pizza since there were plenty of tasty rich toppings on the pizza and they gave me a box. The check was $17.89 (cash)/$18.45 (card) with tax and before tip. Overall, the pizza was pretty good and the atmosphere was very loud. I would stop in again earlier in the evening for one of their dinner entrees. I really wanted to try the Pasta Alla Vongole or the Chicken Parm Alla Vodka. I now know the vodka sauce at SouthPort Kitchen is the real deal, unlike a "jeweler owned" NY style pizza place in Derry which sells a Vodka Chicken Parm on their menu, but uses ordinary marinara sauce. I haven't been back there since after a staff member talked down to me after I questioned them about no cream in the sauce mix. El Presidente should really visit here once there are more reviews.

The food, service, drinks and atmosphere are great. The sticky rib appetizer set the stage for the rest of the tasty meal, the shrimp and grits was flavorful and very satisfying. We topped our dinner with coffee and tiramisu.

Great spot for dinner. Nice tavern and the food is very good. It's a small venue, popular and gets very busy so make a reservation!

Been turned away twice now - they don't leave any open tables for walk ins. Frustrating.

The service is always fantastic, sunny and quick. I'll post the dishes ordered in the spirit of being brief (and needing to get back to the hospital) but I genuinely highly recommend if you love a friendly pub/bar, a good selection of 'off the menu' appetizers and mains, and well poured drinks!

My boys always order mozzarella sticks and Gumby's . The Gumby's are chicken strips kinda like clam strips and my son loves to dip them in the teriyaki sauce although there are more choices for sauces; buffalo , ranch etc. the kids menu wonderfully priced for parents and the selections are very good. Of course my boys always order "the burger!" Every server I have had here is fast and attentive. I don't know if they give aptitude tests before hiring but for all the years I've been coming here the servers are the best in the business. There are a lot of choices for food and it is a typical sports bar/ restaurant with big screens of golf , rugby, football and baseball etc. when I go here I feel comfortable and very happy with the food so do my picky kids. They have trivia nights and all that stuff so if you are Planning to eat here I would suggest making sure what night is trivia night because every seat in the house is taken. Anyways I am glad we have the shanty in Portsmouth. Oh , the parking can be a pain sometimes, but hey , it's worth it!

Statey has just recently opened up, which replaced State Street & while I live in Vegas now this definitely was on my list of stops while home visiting. I finally got to go in last night to check it out. It is very big & kinda open but not too open around the dinning room area. They have plenty of seating on the floor & around the bar. It was great to see Mo a long time bartender still working for them. They were having karaoke night & they have a nice little stage out back for the "maybe soon to be famous singers to perform on". It started @ 7/8pm (can't remember) & went to midnight. No cover charge to get in. It wasn't very packed here on the Thursday night I went, but I have heard that it does get very packed to the point that you may not be able to get in. So keep that in mind when heading over to check them out! I didn't get anything to eat as I was not hungry. My cousin got the fish sandwich with tatter tots. He said his sandwich was good & I had a few tatter tots which were yummy! They still have their famous lobster roll for a crazy, reasonable, too good to be true price! My Mom had asked me to check on this for her as she loves their (State Street) lobster rolls. I do want to go back before I head home to have one as I have in the past & it was very tasty & they fill the bun up with plenty of lobster meat. They have one of my favorite flavored vodkas, blueberry so I was drinking those up. It was nice & cozy in there, temperature was just right. The bathrooms were clean & they have more then one stale inside their rest room so I never had to wait. State Street had less bathrooms & that would make for a long wait when needing to relieve the bladder. I saw some familiar faces while I was in there. Their door guy for that night, Aaron was a really nice guy. Friendly & smiling all the time. You definitely need to check this place out. Stop by for a drink (or two) and/or a bite to eat! I will be back before heading home & on my future trips back to NH!! So happy that they brought State Street back!!!! Thank You!!!

The Parker House rolls were savory warm perfection and a great way to start the meal. My entree, the gnocchi with duck confit was one of the best things I've ever tasted (though very rich--I had to bring half home). And I tasted my dining companion's duck breast an it was also delicious (which they concurred in thinking). The dessert special was a sticky toffee pudding with bananas foster ice cream and peanut butter magic shell and I wish I could eat it every day. The only downsides were that (1) I didn't love the dessert cocktail (which was also absent a garnish), but it could also very well be personal preference and it was only $7, (2) it was freaking freezing in the restaurant. We were seated in a corner that didn't seem to have any baseboard heaters, and even though we weren't far from the fireplace, there was so little insulation on the windows we were all egregiously uncomfortable. The service was great, with the waitress very helpfully answering all our questions and brining each course with perfect timing. The food itself is on the expensive side, though I thought the drinks were normal for a nice restaurant (my other drink, which I enjoyed, was $13). But for the quality of the food, it's hard to complain.
