Extremely disappointed with the food quality and taste. I couldn't even finish the filet mignon as it was incredibly dry and completely devoid of all flavor. My girlfriend ordered a shrimp and pasta dish that also had no flavor with some of the worst shrimp I've ever tasted. The service was good and the drinks were strong, but that's about it. Last Saturday was my birthday and I decided to break my birthday tradition of doing hibachi with my family. Some of us had been to Christopher's, with a party of 10, in February but were in a rush, due to an event, so I didn't get to try as many things on the menu as I wanted to. I was really looking forward to going back, as many items were right up my alley. There were a total of 6 of us, with a tab totaling $296. Unfortunately, we were incredibly disappointed in the food, but not nearly as much as we were with the service. We had made a reservation and most of us were running late, so the first in our party to arrive shared this information and offered to sit at the bar and wait for a table when we arrived. The server insisted it wasn't a problem to sit at the table and order a drink, to which the member of our party that was there, even texted the rest of us saying that the waitress was great and accommodating, so that we didn't need to stress about running behind schedule. I'm not sure what changed when we arrived, but the dirty looks and attitude immediately ensued. After this was mentioned by other members of our party, I apologized to the server in the event we had been an inconvenience in any way, and asked her what her name was, as I don't believe it had been given previously. Throughout the night, we were sure to be extra appreciative, thank her each time she was at the table and call her by her name, Sam. Everyone at our table has significant respect for servers, as many of us have been in the industry ourselves, but we were also raised to be considerate. The eye rolls, dirty looks and rude service did not stop, no matter how kind and thankful we were. Unfortunately, the food was subpar, and the steaks that were ordered by 2 members of our party, were flavorless and disappointing. Instead of mentioning this or asking for any replacements, we all ate our food as we did not want to upset Sam further. After receiving the bill, I promptly paid and the rest of the party left. It was closing, so the restaurant had emptied at this point, but I did not see Sam anywhere in sight. After waiting for a little bit, I went up and asked the bartender if I could speak with Sam. Unfortunately, she was incredibly dismissive and it seemed as if I was a nuisance... it was clear that Sam had spoken negatively about me or about our table. There is no way to explain it, other than that I felt like the uncool kid being bullied by the cliquey popular girls. When Sam returned to the table, reluctantly, upon my request, I very carefully explained our experience to her. I shared that i specifically paid the bill, in good faith that I wasn't looking for anything for free. I wanted to let her know that we had felt as if she had been giving us dirty looks and was less than professional, making us very uncomfortable, along with our disappointment in the food. I treaded lightly, but she continued to be dismissive, rude and showed no signs of care when I was sharing the table's concerns. Her responses were short, if any, non apologetic, and honestly snobby. I had yet to leave a tip on the bill, as I was hoping she would have been receptive to our concerns and feedback. We tend to be a very appreciative party and we had every intention to leave well above 20%, but I wanted to clear the air first. Unfortunately, that goal was not achieved, but I was still sure to leave a $60 tip. My only possible guess as to why we received this treatment, is that she potentially overheard a conversation regarding politics that she didn't agree with. At no point were we disrespectful, inconsiderate, impatient or anything else I can possibly think of to justify this treatment. If anything, we went above and beyond to express our appreciation, because we noticed her change in behavior early on. Due to this experience, we will not be returning to Christopher's, nor will we be recommending it. In summary, we not only were disappointed with the food, we were treated very poorly by our server, and she had clearly spoken about us to other staff, who took on the same attitude. read more

I'm starting off with my total disappointment. I was made to sit in the dining room to have a beer waiting to get a take out order. The bar does have a counter to lean on, while waiting for a bar seat. But not tonight. I ordered the French Dip sandwich to go. Getting it home, as I opened the packaging I was getting the smell of burnt bread. Sure enough. Baguette roll blackened. On the positive side. Awesome pickles. Excellent french fries. They held up and still crispy when I got home. Then my first bite, Im digging a piece of gristle from my mouth. Thankfully tonight using up the last of a gift certificate. Just so sad. read more

He was so kind and took the time to have a conversation with us! We got sat and met the best server ever! Brittney was just as kind & gave us many amazing recommendations! What an experience! Firstly, our waitress and chef seriously took care of us. I have a lot of food allergies and they went out of their way to consult me and ensure my safety. The chef took my selection from the menu and created an allergy-friendly version of it. It was delightful! My friend is intolerant of gluten and they also went out of their way to ensure her safety while providing a delicious experience. I normally find one item on a menu I'm interested in, there were at least 4 or 5 and all of my friends loved what they got. The ambiance is comfortable and modern, the alcohol selections are good. My family and I were staying at a local hotel and stopped in for dinner on a moderately busy Saturday evening. We called ahead for reservations but didn't need them. I really liked the look and the ambiance of the restaurant which features a nice bar area. My daughter and I each began with the fresh garden salad. Very basic and met expectations. They provided complimentary bread and butter after you ordered. The bread was fresh and warm. I ordered the rib eye steak which came with baked potato and zucchini, my wife ordered the cobb salad, and my daughter ordered the pecan crusted chicken breast which came with zucchini and mashed potatoes. We asked to hold back the mashed potatoes and not to serve it. My steak came out a bit on the well done side. The zucchini consisted of 7 small triangles...which in reality was 3 1/2 round slices. A very small portion. My daughter's dish came out with the mashed potatoes after asking them to hold back on it and her zucchini consisted of 5 small triangles. The chicken portions were very generous. My wife said the chicken in her cobb salad was hard and chewy. She barely touched the chicken but ate the rest of the salad. The prices were very reasonable and the service was ok. There was ample street parking and the restaurant was located in downtown Dover. read more

Starting with the strawberry butter served with warm dinner rolls, we were very pleased. The food was well prepared and very tasty. Ribeye steak, thin but perfectly cooked medium rare and my wife had swordfish with a mango salsa topping, fresh green beans and sweet potato fries. All perfect, and at surprising moderate pricing. We came in on a Friday night and we're excited to see Shrimp and Grits on the specials menu. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The cheddar grits were fine, but the shrimp were horrific. Instead of grilled shrimp with a traditional bayou sauce, they were tiny popcorn shrimp, fried and doused in hot sauce. The shrimp were like something you would find in the frozen section where a big might be $5. The hot sauce was straight hot sauce, overwhelming everything. And because it wasn't a truly sauced dish, it was dry and heavy. For $22, we expect much better. The stars given were for a decent fish and chips dish and good baked scallops. Many other tables were seated and finished with their meals in the time it took my family to get our main course. There's not much else to say. Server Brittany was incredibly nice. Ordered the French connection and it honestly tasted like my grandmother made it. I came in with two other friends and they also really enjoyed their meals. We ordered bruschetta as a starter and it was better than most I've had. It took a bit for the food to come out while we were one of maybe 2-3 tables in here. This is a nice space! Service was also very good. Make sure you try the rolls and strawberry butter!! The chicken dishes, bacon scallops and onion soup were all very good. Nice portion sizes and good choices of sides. The menu seems large but it's actually quite simple when you break it down so you know they know what they are doing. There's a lot of choices without having too many ingredients. Would prefer Coke over Pepsi and the artichoke dip was a bit salty but overall it was a good experience! Returned here for dinner with a friend. They have a good cocktail & wine list; I tried the Blue Dolphin & the Grand Razrita. Both were made well & very tasty. For the appetizer we ordered the "South of the Buffalo" tenders; they were juicy & had the right amount of kick. My entree was a little disappointing just because the salmon was a little "too grilled" & the skin had a burnt taste (Mixed Seafood Grill). Presentation on everything was very appealing. I left this place feeling like the food lacked passion-thus lacking flavor. I found everything very bland and almost lifeless. Our service was good, so this is a stark contrast to other reviews here. The restaurant did have a bit of an odd smell to it- almost bathroomy/sewage like. It definitely threw us. Started with apps, the crab cakes and bacon-scallops. They were ok. Nothing special. The tomato salsa with the crab cake you can tell were old and have been sitting for awhile (squishy and watery). The scallops were over cooked, and the "fresh fruit chutney" was not fresh by any means and overly sweet. Entrees really really lacked flavor. The lamb chops were bland, but perfectly cooked (medium) and a hearty portion (7 lamb chops). The lamb could have benefited from salt and fresh herbs to brighten up the lack luster flavor. The steak Diane was 2 beef tenderloins in a mushroom sherry sauce. The sauce was too salty, and the beef was a tad tough for a 'tenderloin.' It was also served with the same sides, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The Mediterranean shrimp also lacked flavor. You would think with capers, feta, kalamata olives it would be bursting with flavor- but again it was bland. Overall my favorite things here were: the warm bread served in the beginning, the mashed potatoes (I didn't taste any garlic) and the grilled asparagus. Appetizers were terrific! I got the calamari RI style which came with spicy jalapeño, cherry and banana peppers on it. The Calamari was crunchy and delicious! Scott got the Bruschetta! He loved the Bruschetta, the bread was toasted but soft and it "didn't cut his mouth up"! Tomatoes and the balsamic drizzle were terrific! I had the Cobb salad and it was very good, the chicken was a little bit dry but for a salad it was very delicious. Scott had the Baby back ribs and they were terrific! Says both of us! The Butternut Squash Ravioli changed my life. I didn't know food could be an experience like that. Absolutely genius. And ditto on the Limoncello cake. The chef is brilliant and the service was also outstanding. Five stars isn't enough, this place deserves ten. read more
