The Snowstorm of 2026 left us with a broken snowblower and a lot of shoveling. By noon, we just wanted to find a place to eat. My spouse was looking for a burger and I was flexible. We were not having any luck finding any of our regular places open today. While driving through Dover, we passed The Nook and realized that we walk by it many times at night and this was the first time during the day we were in the area, and with the sign All day breakfast and Burgers, we found the place. Just on the corner, you can people-watch during your meal. The space is currently decorated for the holidays (yes, it is January), but we loved it. The menu is fantastic with a variety of breakfast and lunch options. If you cannot find something to order, there is something wrong with you. They also offer a full bar, so Mamosa are a perfect brunch option. The staff is friendly and made our visit. Of course, you walk in to a large display case of muffins, cinnamon rolls and other bakery treats. But today, I wanted pancakes! Eggs, baked beans and pancakes! The beans were incredible. Loved them and only hope they were homemade, but if they were canned, they were pretty yummy. My spouse had a burger with fries, and the fries were perfect. Crunchy on the outside and not mushy on the inside! What a find! Sorry it took so long, but we will be back again soon. There is street and paid lot parking nearby. This was my first visit to The Nook although my wife has been here three times. We visited after our tour of Dover's Apple Harvest Festival and as expected the place was packed. We were comfortable with our 35-45 minute projected wait time. We were sat within the projected time as enjoyed the Apple themed special board. I enjoyed Eggs Benedict and a side of their homemade corn beef hash both of which were very delicious. My wife had one of their signature breakfast sandwiches and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm sorry due to a malfunction of my phone I lost the pictures I took. We really enjoyed our server and although it was extremely busy we felt very much like appreciated customers in their establishment. read more

Hidden Ge... just kidding. This is the opposite of a hidden gem, but now I can see why. My first time here and it definitely lived up to the hype. Breakfast was fantastic. We got tofu scramble with a fruit salad , summer salad 2 good scoops of chicken sale egg salad or tuna. Salad was good size but nothing special. Also got the homemade biscuit I had high hopes love a good biscuit these were ok. The home fries were ok. Also got a eggs Benedict on an English muffin. Was told by someone they had gluten free options but did not see much. Overall it was fine no complaints but nothing really stood out. The service and staff were great. read more

First experience here and it was a fabulous one. The food is home-cooked and delicious. Angela, our waitress was one of the best waitresses I ever had. Came here today. Ordered a bunch of food in a party of 5. Horrendous service, food was avg. Waitress was completely obvious to us and we felt completely ignored. Had to get up and get my own coffee, and when I asked where our muffins were, she said "oh I thought you wanted those with the food." Maybe you could have asked? Wanted to grab a quick bite to eat on July 4th - called ahead to make sure they were open and we were able to add our name to the waiting list so that once we arrived we were able to be seated pretty quickly (there were several other parties waiting inside at the time for a table). We ended up at a table in the hallway/entryway of the connected office building - I suppose with COVID they were able to expand their dining space beyond what they would normally have. Service was still attentive despite not being in the main dining room, although there was a constant beep from the door and the overall aesthetic of the hallway leaves something to be desired. First let me say the my server was excellent and is the reason my rating wasn't one star. The Nook was closing for some type of break when I ate there. It took three trys to order something that was available from their breakfast menu. I ordered a breakfast burger medium rare. The burger was over cooked, the bacon was like leather and the home fries didn't have any browning. I wish them luck but I can't say that I'd eat there again. read more

The people in my group that ordered enjoyed their food. Me.... not so much. I ordered a Belgian Waffle with fruit, the fruit was not fresh. When you are in season , use fresh fruits. The fruit looked like it came out of a can. Remindeds me of the days when i'd make Pillsbury Blueberry Muffins and you'd open the can of blueberries to put in the mix. Me and my girlfriend have been to the Nook about 6 or 7 times now. We moved to Dover and love it! We both have tried a couple different things on the menu and all of the options have been delicious. Got breakfast here this morning. The food was just not good at all. Got the steak tips and eggs. Steak tips were over cooked and had ZERO seasoning or flavor. Scrambled eggs were murdered and rubbery and again ZERO seasoning. Home fries were just boiled sliced potatoes with some dried parsley sprinkled on them and again ZERO seasoning. I took two bites of my breakfast and the server didn't even inquire why I didn't touch my plate. My kids waffle had some sort of frozen berry mush on top that just made the waffle a soggy mess. My wife's sausage gravy had no flavor and was so thick you could lay bricks with it and her home fries were just as bad as mine. A giant waste of $50 and still left hungry. Needless to say we will never be back to this establishment. Would give 0 stars if I were able. read more
