my desert 1/2 a shotcake.. ugh!!

Well what can i say, we are regular patrons of this establishment.. tonight was not good.. We ordered a two way combo, clam strips and Sea scallops.. the food was lukewarm and some burnt, some undercooked.. we asked for drawn butter and what we got looked like maybe margarine slightly warm.. so the waitress came over and asked how is everything.. well i explained our dismay about the food.. she got her manager who offered us free dessert..ok we asked for strawberry shortcake.. what we got they should be ashamed of. 1/2 biscuit. say what? our bill was 75.00.. the menu listed out combo for $31. and change when we got the bill the dish was $34 and change.. they said the scallops were market price, however that was not clear on the menu, even the waitress was confused... so my desert pic is below.. it will be sometime before we return.. to bad this place normally had good everything

Dropped my kiddo off at his friends for a party. Driving around town wasting time and got hungry. On my way to the hotel noticed Smokey's & Grill and I thought wow I could go for a steak. Pulled my solo butt I to the parking and walked in with a smile proudly saying table for one. The hostess smiled back and said never solo here. She sat me in Kylie's section, which was the best decision. Kylie made my dining experience at Smokey's wonderful. Her bright smile and quick witted humor was just what I needed. I ordered my beer, cosmic brown ale, a water and pretzel poppers for an appetizer. For dinner I had the filet tips with a side salad and red skin mashed potatoes. My meal was perfect. Filet cooked to perfection, buttery soft and full of flavor. Potatoes were rich and creamy and pretzel bites were good, for me, could have used just a tad more cheese. I happily enjoyed my meal and the conversations with the staff who visited me. I highly recommend if you're in the New Hampshire area!!!

The clam chowder is excellent along with their mixed drinks from the bar. The waitress Casey was very fast friendly and professional. She suggested the rice crispy French toast dessert and for that I tipped her extra. I've been in town for a month's visit and this is the best place I've eaten. And its ambiance is fantastic! You can even eat outside with lights and fire lamps. Plus a live guitarist. It was awesome. Upstairs had a bar and lounge area along two pool tables, a real dart board area along with TVs over the bar area. It's like a one stop shop depending on your mood! This was my best experience to date. You should give this place a try.

We celebrate and ring in every New Year at the Governor's Inn event. Overall, my review is a positive one, but as with any venue or company, they depend on staff to be the face & experience of their business and being human...we all have our days. For example, when an Inn keeper's focus is proving His point rather than trying to satisfy his customer and then going as far as trying to belittle the unsatisfied customer from the MC announcement on stage....is very unbecoming. Glad to say I wasn't the customer, but disappointed to say we had to experience that whole unfortunate incident. I believe the resolution could have been handled with more dignity.

Our server finally came to our table to get a drink order, 20 minutes after we got there, and began complaining immediately about how busy it was and how there were only two of them waiting tables. We got our drinks, $4 beer because he gave us the happy hour price, and then we placed our food order. At this point it's 6:30, we've been there for 45 minutes, each time we saw our server, there was a complaint about how busy it was. The food took over an hour to come out from the time we placed our order. The food itself was good, my steak was not cooked how I had asked(medium rare), but it was still good. The mashed potatoes were just ok. 4 drinks, a steak tip dinner and a burger, we walked out of there paying $130. Definitely not worth the price.

Staff: we had Gabe at the bar to start and his drink knowledge and customer experience is on point. When we were seated on the patio...the enclosed patio space is such a nice touch...our server was Abby. She knows everything on the menu and her attention to detail was something I truly wish other places taught their staff...and the best part was she wasn't hovering...she just knew when to replenish our drinks and to do "check-ins"! Food: started with steak egg rolls cut at an angle and do well yummy! The freshly made meatballs were so tender yet so flavorful that I could have ordered more and been done. On to the entree's my ribeye was so well prepared...dare I say PERFECT which I don't say often in my reviews...that I didn't even use the added sauces! My colleague let me try her steak with garlic cheese topped...OMG!!!! The sides...multi colored carrots on a pesto base, shaved Brussels and garlic mash! It was so delish that I actually asked to give thanks to the chef that created all these masterpieces and Chef Matt came to the table and I didn't know where to start with the praise but I am glad I had the chance to truly appreciate the masterpiece menu! Drinks: cocktails with so many types of rums, tequila, bourbon that they can meet anyone's needs...the wine list is spectacular too. We wrapped up dinner with a Stag's Leap Artemis.
