I got dinner sized Cesar salad add shrimp (additional 8 dollars and I maybe had 3?) The salad was swimming in dressing to the point where my fork couldn't even stab the lettuce !! And almost slimy. Husband got the "Oh my pad Thai" this teeny tiny bowl of peanut butter slathered noodles left his tongue sticking to the roof of his mouth - literally tasted like a jar of natural peanut butter was opened and poured on. Daughter got chicken tender plate - mediocre at best lacked and only really lacked salt . So sad ... don't think what we ordered was hard to nail unfortunately we will never come back . read more

We like to come here probably because it reminds us when it was an amazing breakfast place, the Potting Shed. The location is beautiful at the crest of a hill filled with apple orchards. The inside is very big and comfortable. The staff is always so welcoming and friendly. They serve their own as well as other brewers beers. We did enjoy their own beer. They also have a full bar. The menu is more diverse than most pubs, but they should probably pare it down and focus on their strengths more. I had mushroom risotto. There were plenty of mushrooms and they were delicious. There was Parmesan cheese on it which would have been great if the dish was not so salty. And the cracker/ bread crumb topping was unnecessary. My husband had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and a veggie. Wings here are top notch, and drink choices are neverending. service has always been good even when we come with 10+ people. Many different sections to be seated in, so if you have kids its better to be in the quieter areas but sectioned off pretty well. Willys ale room or as locals call it WAR, it's actually an awesome place to have a bite to eat. They have some of the best spin dip I think I've ever had. The pita chips they serve with it are cooked to perfection. The buffalo dip is also a main staple for our group. The have a fried Korean chicken sandwich- chefs kiss. Their Cobb salad ... died and went to heaven. They have some amazing desserts as well. Cookie dough cheesecake for one, yes please. Most of the week they're only one 4-9. Friday and Saturday it's 12-9. They are busy busy too, almost always on a wait, but well worth it. The hosts do an amazing job but I don't envy them. The servers are polite and efficient, so are the bartenders. The atmosphere is spot on for a little tavern / pub. It's a drive from us but we do take it weekly to hit them up! The food here exceeds expectation in every way. Chicken wings perfectly cooked (with choice of drums or wings or both), in a choice of dry-rub options that'll leave your head spinning and your mouth watering for more. With housemade ranch dressing that's so good you could drink it from a cup. Which is a great choice on salads, too, which are thoughtful, and larger than expected. A Cubano sandwich that's elevated with quality pork belly and pickled onions. Soups are amazing. A stuffed squash with couscous that looks and tastes like something from a dream restaurant in a high-priced big city Michelin-starred joint. Haddock baked in parchment with the richest buttery-lemon cracker stuffing/topping imaginable. (Can you say moist!) And even though it's a beer joint, our cocktails over the course of two nights at the octagonal bar, were exquisite. Expertly thought out and prepared, by a bartender whose enthusiasm for every question and recommendations on drinks and food alike made us wish she could accompany us everywhere we go and be our life coach. Arrived at 5:30, seated promptly by the manager, server got our waters quickly, took our appetizer order and that food came out relatively quickly. We had the pretzels with beer cheese and buffalo chicken dip. The pretzels were really good, the dip was ok, not much of a buffalo flavor, and it came with house made potato chips. The server waited a really long time to come back and get our entree orders, but once she did, it took forever for the food to come. We saw people come in after us, get their food and leave before we even saw ours. About 45 minutes in, the server finally comes around and says "there's been a bit of a hiccup in the kitchen, your food should be out soon." We waited just shy of an hour for our food. If everyone had been waiting, I'd be understanding, but come on, other people came in after us and left before we ever saw our food! No apology, nothing. This place was a pleasant delight! We are traveling and staying at a local lake home and decided to stop in for dinner with no expectations. We were blown away! The menu was great and the drinks were too! My husband enjoyed the beer and flight so much he got a few more to try at home from the market attached. Me loved our wings and had a fun time choosing flavors- they were all perfect. I enjoyed a wonderful mocktail and we also split the delicious cheese curds (basically fighting over them) and the crispy Brussels sprouts. What a great atmosphere for the first night of our trip! It's been over 10 years since I last reviewed Willy's Ale Room. I am very happy to say that if anything, it has gotten better! A few years ago they renovated and brightened things up and added a brewery. There is usually a brew master on hand to give tours and answer any questions you have. My kids are adults now, but when they are home this is where they want to go - especially on wing night. The selection of sauces and dry rubs is pretty extensive, and we've tried almost all of them. My personal favorite is Satay but garlic parm is a close second. And if there's room I love the tomato and mozzarella salad with salmon! Service is always fantastic, even when it is very crowded- which is all weekend long in the summer! Still a great place for lunch or dinner in Acton! read more

Overall very good restaurant and and atmosphere. This place is always my go to when I'm in the area, I am rarely disappointed when I go here! Food is always great quality - I used to only come for wing nights but have not been disappointed with anything I've ordered since expanding my choices. The tomato and mozzarella salad is delicious, at one point the owner came over and asked how the meal was and informed us that the restaurant makes their own mozzarella and burrata in house. The bang bang shrimp was such a great app (better than the wings in my opinion!), wonderful flavor and had a nice crunch to them, and a generous portion for the price. Burger was delicious, as was the salmon. The only time the food has not met my expectations was the prime rib. It wasn't bad, I just had higher hopes based on my previous experiences. There are also a ton of specialty drinks at reasonable prices. The service can sometimes be a bit slow, but it's a very busy restaurant so that is as expected. Willys never disappoints. We were excited to be back in the area this summer to have dinner at Willys. We went back several times and tried new dishes everytime.The staff is always so kind, the food is amazing. Every dish we got was delicious. My husband and I love this place! It's a favorite stop after a day of riding. We have never had anything we didn't like! From the wings to pizza to burgers to sandwiches- it's all good!
