OMG !! We would typically have to goto San Diego for seafood this good, but not anymore. We had the calamari, tilapia & shrimp tacos . It was out of this world good. Was looking for a good fish place in Peoria area & found this place. It's an odd setup as you come in & order & get a number. Then you look for table. Then find utensil & wait for food. I ordered the catfish with was a 8oz piece. Came with French fries, but could substitute other items for an upcharge. The food was very good . The only down side is it's a little more pricey than my regular place, but that being said I would return when I visit friends who was fish & chips. read more

I'm from Wisconsin so to be a good fish fry you really gotta try. Stopped in here when I was craving a back-home Friday fish fry and thought we'd give it a try. My wife got the baked sampler and I got the deep fried. The fish was good but like most places the breading was a little heavy but still ok. The mozzarella sticks were very good. They make their own and I highly recommend them if you like cheese sticks. My wife had water to drink and I ordered a Captain and coke. The drink size was what you would expect for the valley (small), and a bit pricey and littlenon the watery side, but again, that seems to be standard for the valley. Overall I will be happy to try it again and hopefully once the election has curred COVID I can make this a normal Friday stop. read more

Great place to get some seafood. I am from California and I am accustomed to great seafood. So, i was shocked to find a seafood place in this area. I was even more suprised that it was actually good. Just had the catfish all you can eat... delicious! And I'm not a fan of catfish. The cod fish n chips is the best outside of California and my favorite. The wifey loved the clam chowder, again best you can get outside of California as well. Costs a bit more than other seafood places but it's also better quality. You get what you pay for. Stopped in my favorite fish restaurant for our usual fish taco but was met with a sign that said lobster roll special. Wife and I changed our mind and decided to share the $28 lobster roll since the last time I had one was a couple years ago in Boston. We really enjoyed the roll, it tasted great and was on a delicious bread. The only thing keeping us from ordering it again is the price. For $28 I expected a larger roll. Good variety for seafood lovers, fried and broiled selections....and a great Shrimp Louie salad; non-seafood options as well. Our favs included the fried shrimp, calamari, and their sweet potato fries. All the folks that worked at Oscar's were friendly and helpful. Recommended. I have such a wonderful meal at Pier 83 yesterday. I ordered the clam chowder soup which was excellent and a crab Louie salad. The salad came with a really a delicious homemade dressing and the tomatoes tasted like real tomatoes. And of course the crab salad was great. But the desserts oh my gosh golly. I ordered a small strawberry Bundt cake. They are all homemade and tasted fabulous. Pier 83 had eight or 9 varieties of small homemade bundt cakes. Lastly I'm an iced tea drinker and Pier 83 has iced tea that truly tastes like iced tea, not the week stuff you purchase at most restaurants. My only regret was that I spent some money there and did not use my 10% discount from Yelp so be sure to take advantage when you try this restaurant. It's the only Pier 83 in town. Back again one week later and again forgot to use my 10% discount. On Tuesdays they have $5 fish tacos so I ordered one. The flour tortilla was light and fresh as well as the fish. Also couldn't forget The clam chowder and the crab Louie salad and two homemade Bundt cakes one strawberry and the other was lemon blueberry. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Oscar's has one of the best fish and chips not only in the Valley, but also in the world. The breading was perfect and the fish was flakey. There are some great pier seafood joints in Cali. I think that's what the place is going for but it ends up being closer to a food truck vibe as they serve everything in a hard paper container. They have fish and chips as well as tacos. I had the fish & chips. The fish was nicely cooked, although I prefer it crispier, and the portions were reasonable for the price.
