Their food is always bomb! Love their summer six (3 mini fried burritos and 3 mini tacos chicken or beef) it's the perfect amount of food to not going home stuffed but it's not crazy expensive. You have great drink specials to choose from. The service has always been good even if they have new staff sometimes they always fix something if they mess up and are cool about it. I've been to Valley Luna before, but not Valle Luna Lunatics. It seems very similar to the other locations, so I'm not really sure what the significance of lunatics is. Staff was very friendly, and the place was very clean and nice. I didn't see any lunatics when I was there. The food was good and a reasonably good value. It's an Americanized Mexican food similar to many of the other Mexican chains, like Macayo's, Carlos O'Brien's or Garcia's. If you're looking for Americanized Mexican food and don't wanna go to a chain, this is the place to go to! read more

When I heard this was opening I was so excited!! My husband and I had so many great memories at the Cave Creek location and leaving that area was tough to be missing our spot! Years later, we often frequent Lunatics and love it every time!! So easy for pick up but also enjoy dining in for the atmosphere. Recently worked with the manager (she has been with the company for years & sooo good) on a large catering order (local school for teacher appreciation lunch). We had incredible feedback from our teachers and plan to put in another large order for them before school ends. First let me say that the service, as usual, was very good. We have been to Lunatics a number of times for both lunch and dinner, and have never been disappointed. We went last night (6/23) for dinner and were met with a short wait. Nothing of any concern. Unfortunately when they brought the chips, salsa, and hot sauce is when the issues started. The salsa was watery with little flavor. The hot sauce was even more watery, low in flavor, and not really spicy at all. We each order a red chile burrito dinner and my wife ordered hers deep fried. Hers came out without being deep fried. We told the waitress to let her know and so they wouldn't charge for the deep frying. She ended up removing the entire burrito dinner from the bill. (Again, excellent service). The enchilada sauce was thin... the red chile was lacking flavor and chile sauce, tasting more like a shredded beef that had some chile sauce thrown on top. Most of the meal was lacking flavor, like they lost their seasonings and salt shakers. We have had the red chile multiple times, and have never been disappointed. We also normally love their hot sauce and salsa. This trip was just disappointing. We will be back, but only to see if this was a one time issue, or a new normal. Wow! First of all - BEST SERVICE EVER! We visited last night about 5 minutes before closing. I know...not nice of us! But hey, we were heading home from a concert and had the munchies! Alicia was so kind and welcoming. Everyone treated us like they were happy to have us there! Food was great. The spicy hot sauce-yum! And the chips were served warm. They have a limited menu late in the evening, but that was just fine. The tacos, cheese crisp, and guacamole boat were just what the doctor ordered! So happy they are just down the street! We are so thankful to have a Valle Luna in our area. It's an Arizona staple and this new location didn't disappoint. The new decor is a welcome sight. Way different and modern compared to their other locations. The seating arrangement is better than the last restaurant that was in here. The staff was on point and very courteous. My wife ordered the Luna Bowl with pork and it was enough 2 people. The pork was moist with a slight spice to it. The accompanying condiments all looked fresh and made for a great addition to the pork. I opted for the classic #2 - Hard Shell Taco, Cheese enchilada, rice and beans. It was as I always remembered. A large shredded beef taco, gringo style with lettuce and tomato, a gooey enchilada where you have to use your knife to wrap the cheese that is oozing out of it, around it. All in all, I am super happy that they are so close to home and they are serving their classic dishes. read more

First time here, normally go to the 35th Ave location. This is a small place but set up nice. Full bar, smaller menu. Food just as delicious and the service was excellent. Hands down one of the best Mexican spots I've been to in a while. Loved the OG one on bell so it's nice this location is closer to home. The food was bomb -- super fresh, full of flavor, and the portions were generous (you will not leave hungry). I had the chicken fundido and honestly, I'm still thinking about it. But what really made the experience was the manager Alexa. You can tell she truly cares about the vibe and the people. She came by to check in, made sure everything was perfect, and just had such a welcoming energy. It felt like we were being hosted, not just served. Please have Chive on one tv on each wall. I asked for chopped up jalapeño and a whole large jalapeño was placed in a small tortilla cup. It was hard to stab with a fork and cut with a dinner knife. Was really hoping that my previous 3+ experiences were a fluke & id have better luck 6+ months later. But NOPE. The kitchen staff can't even make a quesadilla correctly. It seems to be only this location as we frequent other locations and never have this issue. This last time we ordered through door dash, and after receiving crap food, we called to speak with a manager and his response was "I can't do anything." Isn't it your staff making the food? We took our family of four here Thursday night and everything was fabulous. All four of us enjoyed our dinner and the service was amazing. Our server (Nick) was very friendly and efficient. Our food came out soooo fast and everything was exactly as we had ordered it. My daughter accidentally spilled her water and it knocked the glass sugar caddy off the table and made a mess all over the floor. I've been going to the Valle Luna on Bell and the location on cave creek for the last 30 years and this place is so so terrible. Do not go here! Please go to the original locations only. A big window ad shows 8 a m to 11 on saturday and sundays, but uh wooden billboard and the normal hours on the door say 9 a m and actually 10 am on saturday, which makes no sense.
