Lowkey hidden spot, but HIGHKEY worth it! The vibes are cool, the atmosphere is rustic, and the whole place has its own charm. The smash burger? Literally a SMASH. And the banana daiquiri? Absolutely BOMB! Definitely a spot worth finding. Good vibes, good food, and good drinks. What more do you need? read more

Burgers and waffle fries are excellent. The waffle fries are battered with a seasoning that reminds me of Jack-in-the-box curly fries(in a good way). The burger is a simple smash burger patty, American cheese, grilled onions and special sauce on a soft fluffy bun. Solid choice if you're looking for a smash burger. read more

Burger has a good flavor. I got the double with their house sauce. I hate when they ask for a tip at checkout. I was doing takeout. I always question if it affected my order that I didn't tip. Almost no sauce on top which is the whole reason I chose that burger. Also, I was offered the house root beer. But then i was told that the bar tenderer said he would just charge me for a root beer float but leave out the ice cream. So an $8 soda. I opted out. Lots of potential read more

On a recent trip to Phoenix, I stopped in here to try the delicious smash burger someone told me about. It did not disappoint!! Sooo tasty! This was a cute spot in a nice location not too far from my hotel. The waffle fries are also very delicious! This is a must try if you are in the neighborhood! read more

We tried Bad Jimmy's for the first time and it did not disappoint! We got the regular double hamburger and the green chili burger, and both were really good. The burgers were flavorful, juicy, and cooked just right. The fries were crispy, fresh, and the perfect complement to the burgers. Definitely a great spot if you're looking for a solid burger--we'll be back! Not a ton of seating noted but people are in and out quickly! read more

I came here wanting a burger, after seeing something on Facebook a year ago. I was excited to try this place, as I like a good burger and the ratings seemed solid. Unfortunately, I don't get the appeal. I had the LA Burg, ostensibly a pastrami cheese burger just the way I like it, grilled onions, cheese, burger sauce, pickles. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was tasty, but I but it failed at being a burger. The patty was thin as paper and I couldn't even taste it. I liked the Pastrami, it was grilled, and wasn't too lean, but the burger part of it was disappointing. If I ordered a Pastrami sandwich, this would be 5/5, but it's supposed to be a burger. And it's not a good 'burger'. Smash burgers are fine, but not like this, not paper thin patties I can barely taste. Also, the service was monotonous. It was like the employees were held hostage. The cashier barely whispered, no personality or smile, and one of the cooks who handed me my order seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but there at that moment. It was off putting and awkward. read more

BRUHHHHH!!!!! LOL This place slaps, and it does so HARD!! The menu may be limited, but you best believe the food is bomb af!! My Yelp friends from Houston flew in this weekend and this was the chosen spot for lunch (since we had a lil too much fun last night, lol). We ordered a few of their burgers along with fries and wings. They have a dry rub and the Buffalo Sauce wings. I think the dry rub is called Tennessee Dry Rub, I forgot, but all you need to know is they are absolutely delicious!! The Buffalo has more of a kick, but with some ranch on the side, it was also very tasty. Moving on to the star of the show, their burgers!! I can't even remember which one I got, but it had their own version of Thousand Island dressing and grilled onions. The meat hang on these burgs have been my best find yet, lol. My buddy Shay M. in San Diego is definitely proud, haha!! I finally found a worthy meat hang!! Service was quick and they will bring your order to you when you eat in. This location isn't huge inside, but it's enough for a few groups of friends. They also have a bar inside and that would be a good spot to pregame woth friends. Pricing isn't off the charts and the food is made super fresh, so you will leave happy for sure. The employees are very friendly and they'll make sure you have everything you need to enJOY your experience. Now I have to hit up the Scottsdale location, lol!! read more

Welcome to the Bad Jimmy's Review. Got put onto this spot from some beloved friends and I hope you get the chance to try it out too. I gotta say, one of the best seasoned fries from any burger spot I've tried recently. The dry rub wings are a must get, bigger than an average bone-in wing. The seasoning is a nice surprise when I've had a lot of weak dry rubs wings, you definitely gotta pair the chicken with ranch to balance the bit of saltiness. Lastly, for the smash burgers, if you like a satisfying bite that hits the spot, you found your new home here. I love the pickle inside to add an anchor of sour and tangy through all the heaviness of the patty and cheese. Buns are soft and soak in the residual meat juice. Overall, I recommend this place if you want to hang out in a casual Phoenix burger joint. read more

TLDR: Solid smash burger with crispy lacy edges. Unique smokey wings I got the double smash burger and it was well seasoned crispy lacy edges. They have the classic burger thousand island sauce, but I didn't really taste it too much in the burger. The beef really shines but I wish the sauce had more prominence. All in, if you are looking for a smash burger this won't disappoint. I also got the Tennessee wings which I would describe as smokey, sweet, and slightly spicy. It was unique! The ranch was alright, it lacked some acidity from buttermilk or sour cream. read more

Oh my goodness! What an amazing smash burger (they don't call it that) $12 was way worth it for this burger. It was outstanding!!! Simple place. Bar on one side order on the other. Service was great and loved the sign on the door outside. Loved the simplicity of it yet put all their love into the food. Ambiance was perfect. Omgoodness those fries! As you know by now, I love me some fries. They were seasoned and crispy. I didn't want them to end. If you get a chance to check this place out, please do yourself a favor and go! We were going for a game and found this to be in the vicinity. Okay, it was like a 15 min walk from Chase Field, but was it worth it? Hell yes. Would i do it again, 10000%. Simple menu, tasty smash burgers. The hubby and i both got the Double Burger and we were blown away. Loved the lacy edge and brioche bun (i think it was brioche?). The secret sauce was tasty but not overwhelming. And did i mention those waffle fries? I don't know what seasoning was on it but it was reminiscent of wedge fries which i can't find anymore? Regardless, probably one of my favorite fries to date. You can get ranch on the side for $2 but honestly, i don't think the burger or fries need it. Incredible Smash Burgers and the cocktails are great too! The spot is a vibe too, it can get pretty crazy on weekends but on weekdays it's not extremely busy and you can sit down and enjoy your burger. I will say sometimes the cashiers service isn't the friendliest.... she seems annoyed but idk if that's just her personality but everyone else is super welcoming and friendly! Overall, love this place and always recommend it to friends. read more

First off - their soft serve is amazing and deserves recognition. From what I recall they use Strauss milk for their soft serve and it's so good! If they switched to no seed oils I would be a bigger fan, but if you're ready to enjoy a greasy burger this is a decent stop. Their smash burgers are crispy on the edges and the waffle fries are executed well, but a bit of a grease bomb. read more

Great place after a night in downtown, love the vibes inside with lighting, music, and bar. Usually at night, inside seating is packed but there's more available seating outdoors in the back. I loved the Rocket to Russia which was refreshing and a classic Pornstar cocktail. DOWNSIDES: while waiting in the back I noticed at least 3 roaches on the walls, by a puddle and the trash can possibly attracting them which totally grossed me out. Roaches in the food industry is a huge concern. Definitely stuck to sitting inside after that. Also, parking is technically not free as you have to pay for street meters which can be a pain to find any open in the first place at night or weekends. Love the drinks and atmosphere, just wishing the patio can be kept a bit cleaner. read more

A low-key, casual American diner and bar with delicious smashburgers and criss-cut fries, Bad Jimmy's is a great place to hang out and chill with good food. When I walked in, I found myself wondering aloud if the double burger would be too much food for me for a mid-afternoon lunch. The staff explained that the patties are smashed flat, so she recommended the double burger. I got a double burger and fries, took the number the staff handed me, and sat at the table. At the bar, the bartender bantered with the customers there. Soft music played in the background. My food arrived not long after, hot off the grill. The double burger was delicious. The beef patties were crunchiness around the edges and seasoned, juiciness in the center. The pickles added a fun snap while the cheese and onions were smooth and mellow. The not-so-secret sauce, liberally applied, brought everything together with a creamy richness between two fluffy potato buns. The fries were starchy, hot potato goodness showered with salt and dusted with paprika. I had a satisfying lunch at Bad Jimmy's and would come here for burgers the next time I'm visiting Phoenix. read more

Stopped in before and event. The restaurants was moderately busy but we did not have to wait in line. The place is pretty small and there is only one big table. We squeezed into a booth an our order arrived in about ten minutes. The burgers tasted great. The fries were seasoned and warm. The slab salad was flavorful and I loved the blue cheese. The ice tea was out but they quickly refilled it. The music was a bit loud but all and all it was a good experience. See you again. read more

In the mood for a smash burger and Bad Jimmy's was on the radar. This location was in downtown Phoenix and in an old soda shop like setting. There is limited seating and the music was loud. We ordered 2 double smash burgers with cheese and an order of waffle cut fries. The burgers had 2 thin patties with secret sauce, pickles, onions and cheese on a potato bun. The meat was nicely caramelized and with a crunch. The onions were raw and a bit overwhelming. The cheese smothered the meat a buried any meat flavor or taste. The fries were spot on and delicious. Service was limited with only calling your number to pick up your food. I'm not unrealistic in my expectations that this is a burger shop, short and simple. I was however, looking for meat lightly season and a good crunch around the edges. I don't feel that that Bad Jimmy's met the mark. It was good but not above average. If you are looking for decent burger, you should give them a chance. read more

Great food and service. Smash burgers and wafle fries. Essentially a nice little burger joint with a bar.

Great atmosphere and food! Loved the burgers and the eclectic atmosphere! We were more than happy to recommend to family and friends.

Bad Jimmy's has the best burgers I've had in Phoenix! They specialize in smash burgers and they're absolutely delicious. The waffle fries are perfectly seasoned and are so good! I highly recommend the double burger but the L.A. Burg with pastrami really surprised me. I think it's also worth trying as well. The vibe here is fast and casual, great for a quick bite. Seating is limited though so you need luck and timing on your side to snag a table. There is outdoor seating but with the Phoenix heat, I usually wait it out until something becomes available inside. I also saw that they recently added wings to the menu, I'm definitely trying those next time. If you're in the area, I 100% recommend checking Bad Jimmy's out! read more

This place was weird and definitely not my vibe. My sister and I stopped by on Friday after a Sun's game (around 10pm). There was a gaggle of people standing outside which made us think that was the line to get in. We asked and they said no. We walked inside and there was another gaggle of people just standing in front of the registers. We had no idea who was in line, who was waiting, and or what was going on. The music was BLARING LOUDLY. It was overwhelming and we felt SO awkward not knowing who was going to order next as we all just looked at each other. I made eye contact with the cashier and she gave me a slight smile. I figured that was my queue to approach her so I did. I had no idea what she was asking me as the music was LOUDDDDDDDD so I just nodded my head and screamed her our order.... We ordered: One burger with everything One plain cheeseburger One order of fries One fountain drink TOTAL: $40 Walking to the soda machine was another challenge. People were in the way dancing, eating, and not moving in this tight ol space. Screaming out excuse me did not work so tapping them was the trick... I'm wanting to believe that they also could not hear thanks to the music. The big table by the soda machine had a birthday cake on it so I think there was a birthday party going on? IDK WEIRD. My sister then filled up our cup and then some guy elbowed her and she spilled soda on her shoes. He did say sorry but that's just how uncomfortably tight this space was... We found a spot in the corner right as a couple left. We sat down and the same friendly cashier who took our order brought us our food. We then began eating. The burgers basically felt like they had no meat. The meat is smashed down to like a paper thin consistency... They were flavorful but I've come to realize that smash burgers are not my thing. The fries were very cold, but seasoned well. We were halfway through our burgers when someone decided to smoke inside. I cant stand the smell of weed while im eating so I ended up throwing away the rest of my burger as my stomach began to hurt. This place definitely has more of a club vibe then that of a food place and just not it for me. I left wishing I had gone to In N Out instead. read more

I didn't like this place and felt very uncomfortable. Stopped by on Friday night and it was so packed. The music was playing very loudly and it was hard to even order our food. Finding a table was also hard and we had to wait for people to leave to get a spot. A lot of the people that were sitting didn't even have food, they were just hanging out. The burgers were not all that. The meat was smashed down to basically nothing and our waffle fries were cold. Someone was smoking nearby causing the area to smell like marijuana. The music was way too loud - this should be a club instead. read more

What a smash hit of a smashburger. Sauce was great, patties were crispy, cheese was melted but the best part was the bun. It was one solid piece holding this work of art together like a hot dog bun decided to start bulking. It was literally the perfect bun. Texture was great, it was airy. But the absolute best part was how because it was basically a hot dog bun hybrid, nothing was lost. Nothing fell out of the burger and I wasn't left with a greasy mess. ALL of the sauce was contained. What great bun choice. Fries were pretty mid. read more

I think Bad Jimmy's very well may be my favorite burger joint in all of Phoenix. Everything about this burger spot makes it feel like exactly what you would want to have in a burger place. Simple, burgers and fries, but cooked to perfection. We went at night after a downtown event we attended because we were still hungry and as you can see the neon lights just stand out and you don't know whether you're walking into a naughty place or not... but it feels chill once you walk in: there are tables in the front, the counter, then then a side room where you can also sit with your food. You order at the counter and menu isn't too expansive. But does have some options which is nice. I grabbed a burger and waffle fries to share with my guys. The sauce inside the burgers is insane. The cooking of the burgers is perfection. The crispiness of the waffle fries is immaculate. I tried to take a pic of my burger midbite to see if I could figure out why it was so damn delicious but I don't think I did: let me just tell you - it IS GLORIOUS. So damn good. Lady at the counter was lovely, she actually spoke Portuguese which my friend from out of town did too so what was a random special delight but overall, all three of us still dream of this burger. A must try. read more

This place has been on my list for a while and it did not disappoint! The menu is pretty short and sweet like a traditional burger place, basically a double double with all the toppings, or a plain one. I got the the double double and it was super good! I was nervous at first because that sounds like a lot of food. But the staff was super helpful and explained that they are actual smash burgers. So the meat is super super thin like paper thin. So a double is perfect! And the fries were 10/10! The vibe was giving neighborhood hipster bar it was very chill, no frills! I'll definitely be back, to try the soft serve and a cocktail!
