That thin thing at the bottom is the burger. Ok.
Matthew C.

I came here wanting a burger, after seeing something on Facebook a year ago. I was excited to try this place, as I like a good burger and the ratings seemed solid. Unfortunately, I don't get the appeal. I had the LA Burg, ostensibly a pastrami cheese burger just the way I like it, grilled onions, cheese, burger sauce, pickles. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was tasty, but I but it failed at being a burger. The patty was thin as paper and I couldn't even taste it. I liked the Pastrami, it was grilled, and wasn't too lean, but the burger part of it was disappointing. If I ordered a Pastrami sandwich, this would be 5/5, but it's supposed to be a burger. And it's not a good 'burger'. Smash burgers are fine, but not like this, not paper thin patties I can barely taste. Also, the service was monotonous. It was like the employees were held hostage. The cashier barely whispered, no personality or smile, and one of the cooks who handed me my order seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but there at that moment. It was off putting and awkward.

TLDR: Solid smash burger with crispy lacy edges. Unique smokey wings I got the double smash burger and it was well seasoned crispy lacy edges. They have the classic burger thousand island sauce, but I didn't really taste it too much in the burger. The beef really shines but I wish the sauce had more prominence. All in, if you are looking for a smash burger this won't disappoint. I also got the Tennessee wings which I would describe as smokey, sweet, and slightly spicy. It was unique! The ranch was alright, it lacked some acidity from buttermilk or sour cream.

Two double burgers and a side of fries

We were going for a game and found this to be in the vicinity. Okay, it was like a 15 min walk from Chase Field, but was it worth it? Hell yes. Would i do it again, 10000%. Simple menu, tasty smash burgers. The hubby and i both got the Double Burger and we were blown away. Loved the lacy edge and brioche bun (i think it was brioche?). The secret sauce was tasty but not overwhelming. And did i mention those waffle fries? I don't know what seasoning was on it but it was reminiscent of wedge fries which i can't find anymore? Regardless, probably one of my favorite fries to date. You can get ranch on the side for $2 but honestly, i don't think the burger or fries need it. Bad Jimmy's knocks it out of the park - definitely a top burger spot for me in Phoenix!!

Welcome to the Bad Jimmy's Review. Got put onto this spot from some beloved friends and I hope you get the chance to try it out too. I gotta say, one of the best seasoned fries from any burger spot I've tried recently. The dry rub wings are a must get, bigger than an average bone-in wing. The seasoning is a nice surprise when I've had a lot of weak dry rubs wings, you definitely gotta pair the chicken with ranch to balance the bit of saltiness. Lastly, for the smash burgers, if you like a satisfying bite that hits the spot, you found your new home here. I love the pickle inside to add an anchor of sour and tangy through all the heaviness of the patty and cheese. Buns are soft and soak in the residual meat juice. Overall, I recommend this place if you want to hang out in a casual Phoenix burger joint.

BRUHHHHH!!!!! LOL This place slaps, and it does so HARD!! The menu may be limited, but you best believe the food is bomb af!! My Yelp friends from Houston flew in this weekend and this was the chosen spot for lunch (since we had a lil too much fun last night, lol). We ordered a few of their burgers along with fries and wings. They have a dry rub and the Buffalo Sauce wings. I think the dry rub is called Tennessee Dry Rub, I forgot, but all you need to know is they are absolutely delicious!! The Buffalo has more of a kick, but with some ranch on the side, it was also very tasty. Moving on to the star of the show, their burgers!! I can't even remember which one I got, but it had their own version of Thousand Island dressing and grilled onions. The meat hang on these burgs have been my best find yet, lol. My buddy Shay M. in San Diego is definitely proud, haha!! I finally found a worthy meat hang!! Service was quick and they will bring your order to you when you eat in. This location isn't huge inside, but it's enough for a few groups of friends. They also have a bar inside and that would be a good spot to pregame woth friends. Pricing isn't off the charts and the food is made super fresh, so you will leave happy for sure. The employees are very friendly and they'll make sure you have everything you need to enJOY your experience. Now I have to hit up the Scottsdale location, lol!!

Oh my goodness! What an amazing smash burger (they don't call it that) $12 was way worth it for this burger. It was outstanding!!! Simple place. Bar on one side order on the other. Service was great and loved the sign on the door outside. Loved the simplicity of it yet put all their love into the food. Ambiance was perfect. Omgoodness those fries! As you know by now, I love me some fries. They were seasoned and crispy. I didn't want them to end. If you get a chance to check this place out, please do yourself a favor and go! You won't be disappointed.

Very juicy and tasty smashed burgers. I had the double burger and it was amazing. The fries are super tasty. We had good service our food came out in a speedy manner. They have a real alternative aesthetic in their interior that you wouldn't expect by looking at the outside of the building.

The LA Burger is possibly the best burger I've ever had and the burger I will from now on crave. All the flavors mix so freakin well! The wings are sooooo tasteful and meaty!!! The place itself is pretty cool and even has a bar! I want to check it out on a weekend night. The service was great, zero complaints and pretty quick service too. Also, I was not aware there was more than one location and I live super close to one so I will definitely be there often!!!!!

I don't think I've eaten a burger so fast before! Fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside, their ranch is top tier, SO good! It was definitely worth the extra charge and for a large amount. Such a cute place, good for quick lunch, chatting and overall good vibes. Order at the counter, they make your food fresh, then bring it to you. Great, quick service.

Stopped in before and event. The restaurants was moderately busy but we did not have to wait in line. The place is pretty small and there is only one big table. We squeezed into a booth an our order arrived in about ten minutes. The burgers tasted great. The fries were seasoned and warm. The slab salad was flavorful and I loved the blue cheese. The ice tea was out but they quickly refilled it. The music was a bit loud but all and all it was a good experience. See you again.

A low-key, casual American diner and bar with delicious smashburgers and criss-cut fries, Bad Jimmy's is a great place to hang out and chill with good food. When I walked in, I found myself wondering aloud if the double burger would be too much food for me for a mid-afternoon lunch. The staff explained that the patties are smashed flat, so she recommended the double burger. I got a double burger and fries, took the number the staff handed me, and sat at the table. At the bar, the bartender bantered with the customers there. Soft music played in the background. My food arrived not long after, hot off the grill. The double burger was delicious. The beef patties were crunchiness around the edges and seasoned, juiciness in the center. The pickles added a fun snap while the cheese and onions were smooth and mellow. The not-so-secret sauce, liberally applied, brought everything together with a creamy richness between two fluffy potato buns. The fries were starchy, hot potato goodness showered with salt and dusted with paprika. I had a satisfying lunch at Bad Jimmy's and would come here for burgers the next time I'm visiting Phoenix.

Double burger and waffle fries

Really great burger and fries, the patty was fatty and delicious and just overall really good. I'm usually not a fan of waffle fries because they can be dry but these were delicious! Will definitely be back to satisfy my burger craving! The interior is like a modern diner, pretty cool spot!

Pretty good smash burgers. Fries are decent and the environment is immaculate. Fun, upbeat, dark & neon. Bar service was quick and professional. I've heard the owner is an asshole though. That's not what kept me from giving 5 stars, but it didn't not hurt my rating. Just be kind dude.

Main level/Upstairs vibe is well-lit with a true cantina bar feel. High-top tables, seats at the bar & happy hour from 4-7 pm make it ideal for some $7 drinks!!. The collection of Tequilas is GREAT. Many of which do not contain additives. I won't lie, I thought I was a big fan until I realized I didn't recognize a lot of the tequilas they had on hand. Downstairs is a whole different vibe. Custom craft cocktails, dim lighting with artwork, and more make it feel like an upscale NYC spot in your basement. I did 2 of my favorites, Paloma De Guayaba with the custom block name etched and the Baya Nueva. It was busy, but not packed, which made the service stand out more than it should have. I had to ask for water twice, never got a refill, and overall felt largely ignored--minimal eye contact, no real warmth, just an impersonal feel that didn't match the space. It felt like a place that may be a bit of a victim of its own success--popularity has grown, but delivery hasn't fully kept pace. Part of the appeal here is the permanent taco truck outside, which I know from past visits is excellent, and I love the truck's outspoken, unapologetic support for immigrants. That said, the cocktail itself was excellent. I was specifically looking for a coffee-based drink before heading to another event, and the Cambures al Estilo Foster delivered on flavor. It was tiny, though--served in a small stemmed glass, gone in a few sips. It did the job, but some may find the portion underwhelming for the price. No major complaints, but nothing pulling me back either. I'm adding a fourth star on a bit of a hunch--I'd like to think they can dial it back in if I return.

It was perfect to converse and enjoy drinks with friends! This time we went with some friends, and each of us could not stop talking about how good everything was! We started with In To The Blue shots for the table, which were so good we wished we had sipped them. Then we ordered our first round of drinks and food. We shared a plate of nachos and they had the perfect balance of toppings and chips, then my partner and I ordered some tacos and a Cubano Sammie. The sandwich was delicious, much better than the average Cubano I've come across in Phoenix. The tacos were also great, and $11 for 3 was a steal! Our friends also got tacos, which they enjoyed. My partner ordered Cupid's Dagger and the Insomniac to drink, and she loved both of them! Cupid's Dagger was also served with a bubble of smoke and it was on a little silver tray, which was cool. I ordered the Son of a Peach and Femme Fatale, and they were both delicious. The Femme Fatale was also served inside of a wooden cake tray filled with smoke, which was a very cool experience and added to the flavor of the drink. All in all this is not just a restaurant, but an experience. And if you have some money to go out in downtown Phoenix, I would say this experience is not one to miss!
