I came here wanting a burger, after seeing something on Facebook a year ago. I was excited to try this place, as I like a good burger and the ratings seemed solid. Unfortunately, I don't get the appeal. I had the LA Burg, ostensibly a pastrami cheese burger just the way I like it, grilled onions, cheese, burger sauce, pickles. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was tasty, but I but it failed at being a burger. The patty was thin as paper and I couldn't even taste it. I liked the Pastrami, it was grilled, and wasn't too lean, but the burger part of it was disappointing. If I ordered a Pastrami sandwich, this would be 5/5, but it's supposed to be a burger. And it's not a good 'burger'. Smash burgers are fine, but not like this, not paper thin patties I can barely taste. Also, the service was monotonous. It was like the employees were held hostage. The cashier barely whispered, no personality or smile, and one of the cooks who handed me my order seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but there at that moment. It was off putting and awkward.
Top 2 burger in the valley! Staff is alway super friendly and the vibes are immaculate. I love when they do collabs and specialty food items (like wings). Highly rec trying the root beer float with the red cream soda!
BRUHHHHH!!!!! LOL This place slaps, and it does so HARD!! The menu may be limited, but you best believe the food is bomb af!! My Yelp friends from Houston flew in this weekend and this was the chosen spot for lunch (since we had a lil too much fun last night, lol). We ordered a few of their burgers along with fries and wings. They have a dry rub and the Buffalo Sauce wings. I think the dry rub is called Tennessee Dry Rub, I forgot, but all you need to know is they are absolutely delicious!! The Buffalo has more of a kick, but with some ranch on the side, it was also very tasty. Moving on to the star of the show, their burgers!! I can't even remember which one I got, but it had their own version of Thousand Island dressing and grilled onions. The meat hang on these burgs have been my best find yet, lol. My buddy Shay M. in San Diego is definitely proud, haha!! I finally found a worthy meat hang!! Service was quick and they will bring your order to you when you eat in. This location isn't huge inside, but it's enough for a few groups of friends. They also have a bar inside and that would be a good spot to pregame woth friends. Pricing isn't off the charts and the food is made super fresh, so you will leave happy for sure. The employees are very friendly and they'll make sure you have everything you need to enJOY your experience. Now I have to hit up the Scottsdale location, lol!!
Welcome to the Bad Jimmy's Review. Got put onto this spot from some beloved friends and I hope you get the chance to try it out too. I gotta say, one of the best seasoned fries from any burger spot I've tried recently. The dry rub wings are a must get, bigger than an average bone-in wing. The seasoning is a nice surprise when I've had a lot of weak dry rubs wings, you definitely gotta pair the chicken with ranch to balance the bit of saltiness. Lastly, for the smash burgers, if you like a satisfying bite that hits the spot, you found your new home here. I love the pickle inside to add an anchor of sour and tangy through all the heaviness of the patty and cheese. Buns are soft and soak in the residual meat juice. Overall, I recommend this place if you want to hang out in a casual Phoenix burger joint.
TLDR: Solid smash burger with crispy lacy edges. Unique smokey wings I got the double smash burger and it was well seasoned crispy lacy edges. They have the classic burger thousand island sauce, but I didn't really taste it too much in the burger. The beef really shines but I wish the sauce had more prominence. All in, if you are looking for a smash burger this won't disappoint. I also got the Tennessee wings which I would describe as smokey, sweet, and slightly spicy. It was unique! The ranch was alright, it lacked some acidity from buttermilk or sour cream.
What a vibe !!!! The music is blasting old school jams and the place was packed . We ordered the double burger with waffle fries and of course I had to get the homemade ranch !!! Everything was made fresh to order and the fries were hot . I'm a ranch lover and I give their ranch a 10/10 !
Oh my goodness! What an amazing smash burger (they don't call it that) $12 was way worth it for this burger. It was outstanding!!! Simple place. Bar on one side order on the other. Service was great and loved the sign on the door outside. Loved the simplicity of it yet put all their love into the food. Ambiance was perfect. Omgoodness those fries! As you know by now, I love me some fries. They were seasoned and crispy. I didn't want them to end. If you get a chance to check this place out, please do yourself a favor and go! You won't be disappointed.
We were going for a game and found this to be in the vicinity. Okay, it was like a 15 min walk from Chase Field, but was it worth it? Hell yes. Would i do it again, 10000%. Simple menu, tasty smash burgers. The hubby and i both got the Double Burger and we were blown away. Loved the lacy edge and brioche bun (i think it was brioche?). The secret sauce was tasty but not overwhelming. And did i mention those waffle fries? I don't know what seasoning was on it but it was reminiscent of wedge fries which i can't find anymore? Regardless, probably one of my favorite fries to date. You can get ranch on the side for $2 but honestly, i don't think the burger or fries need it. Bad Jimmy's knocks it out of the park - definitely a top burger spot for me in Phoenix!!
It's our first time coming here and we enjoyed the food! The burgers and fries were delicious and the staff were nice! We loved the decor as it gave 90's vibes! I recommend this place!
Great place after a night in downtown, love the vibes inside with lighting, music, and bar. Usually at night, inside seating is packed but there's more available seating outdoors in the back. I loved the Rocket to Russia which was refreshing and a classic Pornstar cocktail. DOWNSIDES: while waiting in the back I noticed at least 3 roaches on the walls, by a puddle and the trash can possibly attracting them which totally grossed me out. Roaches in the food industry is a huge concern. Definitely stuck to sitting inside after that. Also, parking is technically not free as you have to pay for street meters which can be a pain to find any open in the first place at night or weekends. Love the drinks and atmosphere, just wishing the patio can be kept a bit cleaner.
The LA Burger is possibly the best burger I've ever had and the burger I will from now on crave. All the flavors mix so freakin well! The wings are sooooo tasteful and meaty!!! The place itself is pretty cool and even has a bar! I want to check it out on a weekend night. The service was great, zero complaints and pretty quick service too. Also, I was not aware there was more than one location and I live super close to one so I will definitely be there often!!!!!
I don't think I've eaten a burger so fast before! Fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside, their ranch is top tier, SO good! It was definitely worth the extra charge and for a large amount. Such a cute place, good for quick lunch, chatting and overall good vibes. Order at the counter, they make your food fresh, then bring it to you. Great, quick service.
Very juicy and tasty smashed burgers. I had the double burger and it was amazing. The fries are super tasty. We had good service our food came out in a speedy manner. They have a real alternative aesthetic in their interior that you wouldn't expect by looking at the outside of the building.

Really good burger place! The only "complaint" i have would be they are very soft and wet burgers. I ate the whole thing though so wasn't an issue for me The fries were 10/10, my favorite texture and a waffle cut!! Their ranch and not so secret sauce were also really good! Service was quick and the staff were friendly. Definitely recommend trying this place out if you are in dtphx!! read more

Quite possibly one of the best burgers in the valley. However, the website shows incorrect hours and days of operations, so I was left hanging without a burger when I arrived to find they closed an hour earlier than their website says. read more

This is my favorite burger joint in the city, best smash burgers ever!! There's only one problem. They hate mayonnaise, apparently?!? They only have one sauce option besides ketchup and it's that orange Big Mac type sauce:/ not my thing. I literally jacked some mayo packets from jimmy johns just to bring here for my burger this is a burger joint with the best smash burgers in town but they kill me with the no mayo policy GET SOME MAYO PACKETS PLEASE FOR THE LOVE oF BURGERS ! Some people just want the classics! It's so funny, I asked almost every time I came in because I thought it was a new business and maybe they just hadn't ordered mayo packs or mayo yet but now, after coming a bunch of times, I realized they were not a new business, they just won't give us mayo #mayoneverhurtanyone read more
I have heard that Bad Jimmy's makes some of the best burgers in Phoenix and stopped in to try them this past weekend. The restaurant has a very unique vibe. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you but there is also a full bar inside of the restaurant which is a great area to hangout with friends, eat, and listen to music! They do have some outdoor seating as well. The burger was delicious and had super crisp edges to it but held a ton of flavor. They had a great house sauce on the burger paired with onions and lettuce that tied the burger together well. The fries were crispy and to die for, if you're a ranch lover you MUST get the house ranch. One of the better ranch's I've had. read more
Finally tried this place cuz a friend of ours kept saying how good it was. Definitely, hyped. 6:45pm on a Saturday. Luckily, the line to order was short at the time. Tables were pretty packed though. I saw a few but by the time we finished ordering, people who walked in after us had already grabbed the tables. The bar side had a few open spots at the corner and window so we grabbed those. My friend and I ordered while the other two went to the bar. Small place so tough to find a spot when it's busy. Music was playing. It seems from others reviews that they play different genres from time to time. I liked the music they were playing on this day and didn't mind the loudness at all. Our orders: - Double burger with fries - Double burger + raw onions & red cream soda float Pros: - liked that the patties were smashed and the edges were crispy - soft buns Cons: - Not being told there was an additional $1 charge for onions. The double burger comes with grilled onions but I had asked to add in raw onions as well - the raw onions were never added - only had a few grilled onions in my burger - the Not so Secret Sauce was very little to non-existent. I had to dip my burger in ketchup - patty lacked flavor - a small container of ranch is $2! - red cream float wasn't bad but wasn't worth $8 It was just okayyyyy to me. There just wasn't enough onions and sauce in my burger. My total was a little over $27 with tip. Chose the wrong tip option but it was still overpriced. And paid for extra stuff for nothing. read more
Food was great. My friend with a gluten allergy couldn't eat much but it's expected. Burger was a perfect smash burger with great toppings. The ambiance was a great bar with limited seating for others. I liked the way it looked but I wish they had more games on and less music videos. The service was over the top and Roman was pouring up great drinks and on point I appreciate everything they're doing. read more
Finally got to try the famous Bad Jimmy's! I liked how retro and cool they are, lightings and stuff, it was so cool. There weren't many places to sit inside, but there were seatings outside! Ordered double burger with fries, it was good. Patty was so flat and fresh, it was well seasoned and yummy. And the waffle fries were good as well. It was interesting and different, yet yummy :) read more

An amazing burger! Their potato bun is to die for and the quality of their ingredients really stands out. Service is fast casual and turnaround was probably twenty minutes. I almost wish the burger was bigger or that I order two next time. Highly recommend read more
This food was incredible! So simple but soo good! I got the classic burger, or maybe it was the double. But it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The staff were nice and the decor was old school diner themed. The bar area looked really cool, but I didn't have time for drinks. read more

Thanks to Bad Jimmy's for giving out free burgers on Mother's Day! We stopped by for the first time and looking forward to coming back. The double burger was delicious, flavorful, juicy; hands down one of the best I've had. The onions were sautéed and sweet and the bun had a nice crunch to it from being toasted. The fries were awesome, asked for extra crispy and they fully delivered. Downsides: Music is wayyyy too loud inside. We came with our baby and we couldn't even sit inside so we had to sit outside in the heat. It was over 95 degrees with no umbrellas for shade- super uncomfortable. We would literally have to order to go next time because it's not a baby friendly environment. Otherwise there should be some shade offered in the back so people are able to sit down. Multiple people came into the back and after they saw every seat sitting right in the sun, they walked back in. We also had a red soda float, don't remember the exact name but I would skip it. Nothing special for $9. They put the float in a to go soda cup, even if you are staying to eat. Very cheap presentation for a $9 drink. A fountain soda is $3, so you are paying $6 for a scoop of ice cream... next! read more

Saw a TikTok about this place and have really been craving a smash-burger. I walked in and it definitely had a cool ambiance with an old diner / burger shop vibe. The menu is basic and the food is fresh! The burger had caramelized onions and I ordered some diced peppers in there! The fries were super fresh and crunchy! The patties are super thin, as a smash burger should be with nice crunchy sides. The staff was friendly and welcoming giving us a run down of the menu! Will definitely recommend! read more
First time at Bad Jimmy's. We arrived at 12:15 on a Friday afternoon and it was full, so we ponied up with the manager who was on a break. I ordered a Double Burger, fries and a soft drink for $21.85 and my son-in-law got the same. The burgers ran about $12, but the fries were overpriced at $5. Our meals arrived in about 10 mins, despite many tables seated right before our arrival. They smash the patties as they cook, giving them a great crust. Topped with gooey American cheese, savory grilled onions and creamy thousand island dressing on a pillowy potato bun, each bite was a perfect blend of soft, crunchy, savory, salty, sweet and gooey richness. The potatoes were cross-cut and cooked to a yummy crispiness but many were clumped together in both orders, making them not as attractive. The flavor of our meals was excellent, despite the spud-fest going on. I'll be back. read more

Love love love Bad Jimmy's. Perfect late night burger spot on Roosevelt row that has ALL the flavor. If smash burgers are your vibe you NEED to check them out. We went on a busy Friday night before a show and the line wasn't awful, nor the wait for the food. The menu is simplistic but ADD chilis for a little kick The double double is preferable. Two juicy smash burger with American cheese, grilled onion, pickle and a delicious tangy, creamy sauce. The edges of the burger are crispy and so inviting. I had the lil Jon because I didn't want a huge commitment and it was equally good, but the second patty really ups the juiciness factor. Can we all agree waffle fries are superior? They know what they are doing here because these fries are gas. They have those little crunchies on the outside that keep you coming back for more. So good! Price wise it can be a little steep, but I think it's worth it. Again, you get what you pay for. We had 3 burgers, 2 fries, and one soft drink and spent 50$. The inside of this place is so cute too and they have a full bar. Great place to start or stop when hitting Roosevelt row. read more

Bad Jimmy's has a super simple menu, making it easy to order without overthinking. We came in as a group of 10 and were impressed with how quickly everyone got their food. While the space can feel a bit cramped on a busy day, we were lucky enough to snag the seating area right in front of the ordering counter. I went with the One LA Burger, and wow--it was packed with flavor and loaded with pastrami! Yes, it was messy, but absolutely worth it. Every bite was fire, and I'd definitely order it again if I'm in the area. If you're nearby, I highly recommend checking this place out--it's worth a visit! read more
Good...but not good enough that I would go out of my way, on a long drive from Mesa to Phoenix to have a burger here. The menu had less variety than expected, so I stuck with a double burger and fries. Both were tasty! The double burger tasted like a typical smash burger and the fries were average, well alittle above average because they were seasoned well. I didn't try any drinks but the bar area was cute. read more

Service: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Vibes:10/10 Came here on a Friday afternoon and got a double and a single. Both were sooo good. The flavors were so delicious and the fries were even tasty and crispy. The employee were all super nice and helpful. We sat at the bar and also got shots. The drinks were soo delicious. I've been dying to come back. read more
Very hip and cool burger joint! I had been wanting to try bad jimmys since it opened and had only heard wonderful things about it. Plus love that they have a vegetarian option! Came here with my husband who can't say no to a bacon cheeseburger and my almost 14 month old. I got the veggie burger, fries, and not so secret sauce. My husband got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The fries are waffle fries! They were crispy and well seasoned. The veggie burger could've used a bit more flavor but was otherwise good! My husband liked his burger too. My son was all about the fries. Service was really good, everyone was really nice and friendly. The vibes are really cool, loved all the decor behind the bar area. Limited seating but we were lucky that the people in the big booth were leaving when we arrived, otherwise our only option would've been baby at the bar haha. It was expensive but worth trying for sure and I would come back, maybe check out the new location in Scottsdale next time! read more
Rolled through Bad Jimmys late on a Monday night. You'd never know it was a Monday inside. 90s hip hop, pink neon lights, a true retro feel. The place was popping. I ordered the slim. Nothing fancy, but deliciousness doesn't always need to be fancy. The burger was smashed, pressed, and crispy. It was awesome. Thought about getting soft serve ice cream- will definitely next time. The vibe inside is unique. Local legend chef Rene of Bacanora was chillin there. Jimmy was super cool, chatted with us for a bit and was so appreciate of the support. Lots to love about Bad Jimmyz. An easy 5 star review. read more

So happy to see another local restaurant open up a brick-and-mortar right in DTPHX! We went in and each ordered a burger, I got the double burger and my partner got the veggie (Where's the beef?) burger. We got an order of fries and the wedge salad for the sides to share. My burger was delicious, but my partner mentioned how their veggie burger left some to be desired. The fries were great and the wedge salad was something I could 100% see myself coming back and ordering with just fries and living a great life. The restaurant itself it a really fun concept - bar meets diner vibes. Everyone is laid back and wants to make sure you get great food and great service. I'll definitely be coming back as they continue to shake off their new restaurant nerves. read more
Honestly one of the best smashburgers I've ever had. I ordered the double burger because of the not-so-secret sauce, it came out fast, was a bit greasy, and the edges were extra crispy - perfection. My friend had the LA burg and said it was super good, he tore it up fast. I went with a group of 8 on a Monday night and not even 10 mins after we got in the door there was a growing line. This place isn't very big but there's lots of cool neon lights and it gives off a "this is the place to be" vibe. The runners did an excellent job bringing food out. Definitely gonna visit again sometime! read more

After trying their food truck when they first opened I knew I was going to be disappointed because they were only going to be at pop ups or at Cobra(high traffic area) which meant I couldn't be able to eat them as often as I would like to. I'm a big fan of smash burger style and they definitely nail it. Simple and delicious is the best way to enjoy that burger and it's full of flavor. The waffle fries were a bit salty but I'm sure it was just that batch or most likely order without salt on them next time. I'm only a walk away from work so I'll definitely be here on my lunches! read more

Honestly best smash burger I've ever had. Friend forced me to try this hidden little spot that you'd miss if you walked by. Inside is super old school with a fun bar. Seating is pretty tight inside but that have a back patio. I had the double burger and the salad. It was awesome. Great sauce, good patty, just a good burger. Salad is heavy on the sauce and cheese but somehow it just works given you're at an old diner style burger joint. Service is not the quickest but all super nice. Definitely will go again read more

Love Bad Jimmy's! I'd go after having class at ASU since it was less than a 5 minute walk. When you walk in, it smells so good. The times that I have gone, the staff is very nice and welcoming. I always tend to order the classic double and the fries. Totally random, but they have really good ranch lol, I dip my fries in it and also the burger sometimes too. If you ever feel like having something sweet, their soft serve is pretty good too, I get the vanilla and chocolate swirl. read more
