Bad Jimmy's offers good food overshadowed by its other flaws. I've visited several times and the experience has remained consistent. The staff are slow and forgetful. The bartenders are often absent. Seating is limited, and other customers inexplicably take up spaces without ordering or stay long after finishing their meal. The music is always at a level that requires yelling or repeating yourself. You can get a tasty burger and fries here if you don't mind the staffing and environmental issues. read more

Excellent service Super fun diner ish atmosphere Food is perfect every time Love the menu Love the specials Such a tasty place Love the vibe A really excellent add to this community with a brick and mortar read more

Loved it! The menu is small, but focused on the good stuff. Single, double, or veggie that really all the choices. I got a single with fries. The fries are crispy and hot! Waffle style as well. The burger was a touchy salty (love it) and crispy. Very good smash burger! The service is super friendly as well. The location is freshly updated and remodeled. Couple of notes: They are not a fan of any substitutions. So you pretty much get what is described on the menu. Also, I have been 3 times now and each time the music is crazy loud. 91 decibels last time I was there. Can be very challenging to talk to the meal partner at those levels. Each time we ate outside due to volume of the music - although it is still really loud outside. Would return, would recommend. N*joy! read more

So I'm in Phoenix for a conference and began looking for a lunch place near to the Sheraton downtown. I saw this place and the great reviews. They definitely live up to their reputation. I've literally never had another burger quite like this. Crispy edges to the beef patty, not messy but the perfect amount of toppings. In short, if you're ever in the Phoenix area and looking for a great burger (fries are great, too), then don't walk but run to Bad Jimmy's. You'll thank me and the countless others who recommend this place! read more

The Fat Man and his wife traveled west to Phoenix and the Valley of the Sun. While there, we hit a burger joint called Bad Jimmy's. Bad Jimmy's is a casual restaurant serving cheeseburgers and other comfort foods paired with beer, natural wine, and cocktails. We both had the Classic Double; I added bacon and an order of fries. The burger was a Double Patty of K4 Ranch premium Arizona beef, American Cheese, Ketchup, Mustard, Diced Onion, and Pickles on Martin's Potato Bun. The burger had a good smash and crust while also being juicy. The bacon was crispy and salty and offered a good chew. The bun was soft and fresh; the veggies offered texture while the mustard hit the back of your mouth and cut through the saltiness of the creamy, gooey American cheese. When you ask for a smash burger, this is what it is supposed to be. They serve Waffle Fries. They were cooked perfectly with good seasoning on all of the fries. They had a great crunch on the outside with a soft chew on the inside. Jimmy's gives you a pretty big order of fries with your order as well. Jimmy's has a small menu, offering only six burgers, four sides, and soft-serve ice cream. They have a full bar and canned beer, plus soft drinks. The staff was genuinely friendly, and the food came up quickly. They have two locations in Phoenix. The Fat Man says that Bad Jimmy's is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins. read more

I don't recall having a good smash burger and heard Bad Jimmy's was super popular, so I had to give them a try. The restaurant is small, there's some counter seating, maybe 1 or 2 tables that could seat four people and the rest were small two seater tables. I'm sure you could push the tables together if you have a larger group. There's also a bar to the left. I didn't get to see if they offered any specialty drinks, but there is a bar for adult drinks if you don't want water or fountain soda. I ordered the classic double with no cheese. The burger was pretty plain, as were the criss cut fries. I appreciated the finely diced onions on the burger, but the rest was ok. I'm sure the burger is probably better with cheese, but Bad Jimmy's did not become a favorite of mine. read more

Hands down the best burger you can get in AZ. I got the Double Burger with Bacon and a side of their fries. The burger is exactly what I want every burger to taste like. It was tasty, juicy, cheesy, and well perfect! I usually don't like bacon on my burgers, but this was the perfect addition. The bacon was crispy, didn't take away from the burger at all, and was not too salty! The fries are waffle cut, but taste like curly fries!! So delicious dipped in their "not so secret sauce". I'm seriously still thinking about this burger and I can't wait to go back! The total for the 2 burgers (both with bacon) and a side of fries was around $40, so kind of expensive. However, 100% worth it to me. read more

Found Bad Jimmies a few weeks back. I'm addicted !! Best Smashburger in town !! Service is awesome ! Very friendly staff. Only thing that I wish was different was the fries. Think that a shoestring fry would compliment the Burger better. Waffle fry order is too much. Just my opinion. Jeff read more

Smash burgers are the rage now and so we had to try them here. So good! I was really impressed and loved the burger. Also got a plain patty for my dog and she was equally as thrilled. The place is small and we were lucky to snag a seat, but worth the wait. Food came out pretty quickly. Great addition to Phoenix's fabulous food scene. read more

Oh how I love a great burger! Bad Jimmy's has a great vibe. Kind of old-school Happy Days feeling. Sat at the bar, we ordered double burger, fries, and a cocktail. The burger was amazing. I have never had a smashed burger that was so tasty and crispy. Both my husband and I have been thinking about this burger since we left bad Jimmy's a few weeks ago. The cocktail menu definitely needs to be worked on maybe add some basic drinks. The fries were super good as well as great service. See you soon Bad Jimmy's! read more

I don't think I've had a smashburger before so I was looking forward to trying this place out. We came on a Friday before beating the crowd especially since we had two little ones with us. We were able to find a table to accommodate us. It is a small space and they have an outdoor area which I'm not sure how that'll be with the summer now here. The burger itself was pretty good but was it amazing? No. Vibe wise: I liked the old school feel to the space. The staff was great and accommodating, although I'm not sure if I could consider this a family friendly establishment given that the music was so loud. It is a great option for the downtown area though but glad I got to finally try it. read more

A friend told us to check out Bad Jimmy's for the best smash burgers and we were not disappointed. You order at the counter and then find a table. Seating is a little limited, but they do have tables outside as well. We were able to grab a table and got our food pretty fast. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fun and lively. We did notice the line getting pretty long just after 7:45pm. The food arrived and we happily took our first bites. The burgers were so tender and delicious! These burgers are definitely on our list as some of the best we've had in Phoenix. The fries were yummy as well! They had a good amount of seasoning. Would definitely recommend this spot! read more

Hands down one of the top burger spots in all of Phoenix! Handmade smash burgers made to order with a side of waffle fries - absolutely delicious! Restaurant is small and intimate and can get crowded pretty quick. This picture of food cost $34 dollars and although it was great, a bit pricey in my opinion, but hey Definitely a nice place for a first date if you happen to be in that area of downtown. read more

Great grub after an evening of museums and dancing. I chose the Double Double, side of fries and a coke: WHOA!! The burger was juicy, smashed to perfection with grilled onions, gooey cheese and not so secret sauce, all between a soft bun. The waffle fries were seasoned to perfection, hot and crispy - I gobbled half before jumping into my burger. Decent sized portion for sharing too. Fast service and the lighting + music made the experience feel like a cool dive spot. I'll be back for sure! read more

Now that was a delicious hamburger. Double burger was quite tasty. As was the classic. Both would be ordered again. Waffle fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the in. Just wish they had bottles of ketchup. Salad was quite good too. All would be ordered again. Service was fast and friendly. Diner/Instragram vibe at the same time. I would come back for sure. read more

Fantastic burgers. Definitely hit the spot for what I was looking for in terms of smash burgers. Where this place falls flat is in their service. Most of the workers there don't look like they want to be there nor do they care to be bothered by your business. My other issue is this place is not kid friendly. The music is blasting and every other verse is an f bomb, read more

What a fun burger joint! Ducked off the beaten path - we stopped in for some burgers for a mid afternoon lunch. We got a couple doubles (12) and one LA burger (15) and some fries (5) and the slab salad (9) and all of it was super yummy. The slab salad is heavy blue cheese as a heads up - may not get that one again. But everything else was tasty!! You order at the start then they bring your food out to you. Ambiance was cute and we enjoyed dining in. We will be back for sure. read more

This spot is such a gem. Cool, relaxed interior that gives futuristic old school diner vibes. I had the special which was a hatch chile burger that was absolutely delicious. Fries were seasoned to perfection and perfectly delicious. A little pricey for a smash burger which is why I did 4 instead of 5 stars but you can always expect that in downtown Phoenix. Service was quick and polite. I'll be back :) read more

I am so happy I visited Bad Jimmy's. The burger was fantastic! There's a crispy edge and oozing cheese. Then the thinly sliced onions are grilled into the burger to perfection. They topped it with a thousand island sauce and ketchup, which I am not a huge fan of. The burger was so delicious i didn't even notice it was there till I was half done. By then i didn't care. The service was fast and friendly. The ONLY downside was the volume of the music. I was happy enjoying my burger but my friends were having a hard time having a conversation. Hey, shut up and eat, right?!?! The waffle fries were crispy and perfection. Came out hot! I will definitely make Bad Jimmy's my go to spot for an amazing burger! read more

I've never had a smash burger before and it was bomb. I saw this place on TikTok and thought to give it a try. I love that the menu is simple and it reminds me of an old school diner. We had the classic double burger with cheese and fries. The patty was so crispy but not too heavy or light. Paired with the bread and cheese it was mouthwatering. This was a great place to grab a quick burger between activities. Fantastic smash burgers, great music, and comfy bar seating.

So I came here for the first time with my little sister who loves a good burger. I heard there was a vegetarian burger and was willing to be a dirty vegan that day. I had heard from a few people that the food was good and "good" was honestly an understatement. I haven't had waffle fries (really any fries lately) that have made me sit and question everything I've tried prior lol. They were seasoned and fried to perfection. The burger was also really good, I'm not a fan of mustard so I had them remove it and add their not so secret sauce. Loved it! So much that I came back for another burger a week later lol. They'll definitely be seeing me more often. read more
