I hate to have to write this but I don't think I've ever had such a dry breakfast burrito before. Almost to the point where I can't swallow. I ordered the chipotle breakfast burrito because it's supposed to have a sauce in it but maybe mine didn't get that treatment? Tried adding the green salsa but the texture is like a jelly, not a salsa so it seems they just got pulled out of the fridge/freezer from overnight. Just a horrible experience, honestly. And that sucks because we usually love this place. For nearly $13, I expect a lot more. read more

Always busy when we come in and for great reasons! Food is excellent with ample portions, amazing flavors, and freshness. I've cold salsa bar with plenty to choose from including hot carrots, lemon, and Serranos. The seating areas are always clean and wiped down, no trash left on the floors. While MasterTaco does have good food, it's disappointing. The quesabirria is not birria at all. It's more like a lightly seasoned shredded beef taco with some type of broth. I would definitely not consider these birria and their menu add is deceiving since the food itself lacks the color/look of the picture. Plus there was the end of the onion that should've been trash.The sides were 2$ for a tiny condiment container that I'm surprised held up with the heat of the food. (The integrity of the cup was questionable.) Not to mention the girl taking orders had a major attitude. (She practically dropped the food on the table.) Unless you were a regular then you were greeted friendly instead of a glare. Like I said the food wasn't terrible just not as expected. I might give it another chance. But I don't see myself going back in the near future, and definitely wouldn't recommend. read more

Breakfast burritos and green salsa are tasty! Mainly dropping this review to say that both their beans and rice are made with chicken broth and therefore not truly vegetarian. I called the restaurant to verify as I was thinking about getting the vegetarian nachos but alas, due the chicken broth, I did not. Master Taco is a conveniently located, fair priced, and clean establishment at T-bird and 99th. The salsa bar has limited but good additions to your order, and includes green and red salsa and some pickled carrots, onions, and peppers. I had the 3 rolled potato crisp tacos (taquitos) and refried beans (tastes homemade!) special which included some chips for under $6. I think they shouldn't put the sour cream and cheese on top of the tacos as you can't cut the tacos with a fork, and trying to lift them by hand with those toppings, makes a mess. Very tasty though. I like that they use paper rather than styrofoam plates when you eat-in, but unfortunately, I forgot my own fork so had to use a plastic one--maybe they can switch to bamboo. I didn't order a drink, but it looked like they served in paper not plastic, although the water cup was plastic. Counter help could use a little more hospitality training as I smiled and greeted them rather than the other way around and I just didn't get any "We're glad you're here and happy to serve you vibes," and it never hurts to talk up the daily specials and offer help if there are any questions. Be on the lookout for days with specials to add to the experience. read more

My first visit was yesterday at around 5 PM. Definitely busy, which is a good sign that the food is good. Salsa bar looks great. Restaurant is clean. Customer service is good. I waited about 15 minutes, which I am totally fine with because the quality of the food was on point. I ordered a Carne Asada plate with rice and beans Carne Asada fries and a bean cheese and rice burrito with onions and cilantro. Everything was delicious. Carne asada was fresh, hot and tender! I did a takeout order and requested that the lettuce, guacamole and tomatoes be on the side for the Carne Asada plate. Everything was done as specified. I will definitely be back and I will recommend this place. It is tucked behind the CVS off of Thunderbird Road. I personally never would've known that. Highly recommend! This place has great authentic Mexican food and every time I come to visit my mom I make sure to stop here, their barria is excellent! My mom loves the chili relleno burrito, enchiladas and tacos. I've had the master bowl, quesobarrias, chili verde, and chili relleno plate, everything is always delicious and the portions are large! It's difficult to choose what I want each time since it's all very tasty. The place is super clean and the staff is friendly and efficient. I had a nice young man (Eduardo I believe) serve me yesterday and he got my large, random item Mother's Day order out quick and correct! This place makes great food that is authentic, I would also say that everything is homemade, and quite delicious. Hurry on down before there is a line out the door. If I could give this place 15 stars, I really would. The food is always good and great quality. The service is excellent. They never try to rush you, always friendly and if you ever get stuck on what to order, they always give recommendations and so far, when I try food they recommend (potato taco, carne asada fries, and enchiladas) honestly has hit and have became my favorite foods from here. This is number one on my top three places to eat on the west side. Definitely always recommend it to anyone looking for a new place to eat. read more

Awesome customer service, amazing food, great value, and super clean. Had the Arizona Surfing burrito which was HUGE, wife had the $5 Sope and loved it, and my daughter (who is a VERY picky taco eater) LOVED the carne asada tacos. Was a quick stop on the way home. tacos were filling and not skimping on the carne asada in the taco, nor the cilantro and onion. Service was nearly immediate and I was eating right away. I work close to this restaurant and came in frequently. The last few times, the food was just sloppy. Thought I would try 1 more time today. Got the same exact thing. Just sloppy food swimming in sauce. Enchiladas swimming in sour cream, shrimp tacos swimming in the white sauce.
