    Great big one

My wife and I like a good burger and saw a reel on Facebook for The Original Hamburger Works so decided to head down there to try it out. The inside of the restaurant is pretty cool with lots of old signs on the walls for decoration. The menu is pretty straight forward. I had the great big one and my wife had the big one. We both ordered fries and a soda. The food was very good, I liked the fixings bar as I'm picky about how my burger is constructed. The fries were hot and cooked perfectly. The only draw back was 40.00 for two burgers and fries and two sodas. But otherwise we enjoyed our experience and we will return.

This is one of our favorite burger places in Arizona having been here A LOT yet never a review. Here are a few reasons why we come back again and again and again. The menu provides more than adequate options for those who are a little finicky. Burgers, chicken options, several restaurant-popular sides, etc. Burger weights are either 1/4 lb, 1/3 lb, 1/2 lb or the full pounder. How they cook the food is key. They don't use a flattop instead, it's basically BBQ'd using select wood as a heat source. The taste from a well used and seasoned 'pit' (if you will) cannot be described nor replicated so the word "Original" is just that! Remember the failed business Fudruckers where they had a dress-your-own food bar? They have a successful concept with abundant options so you can do whatever you want with dressing your food. Did I mention you have 3 bun options? Onion rings are the BOMB! Crispy on the outside just right I'm on the inside. Fries were buenos too! This place is huge once inside with a lot of seating, atmosphere is fun and creative. It's a win win so come and enjoy! Burp...!!

The burger and fries combo was $12, plus $4 for drink, so it didn't feel like a deal if you added non water. The burger was cooked perfectly well done for me and they used round bacon. Everything on the fixings bar was fine, but just the basics were there. Felt unnecessary actually. Still, glad to have finally tried the place.

It has been a while since I've been here and unfortunately it was not a good experience this time. Everything was cold, the burger bun was hard and fries were cold. The burger was still perfectly edible but definitely will not be back for another visit. The wings were crispy, they were lukewarm and perhaps a little too fatty. Overall, it filled my craving for burger and wings. There is plenty of tables in the main dining area and also have a bar on the other side where you can also seat and enjoy your food.

Love this place for a good grilled tasting burger. The place inside is big, has a bar, a few tvs playing sports, plenty of seating, and has old school car stuff as decor around the place. Had a salad bar for all your toppings, the burgers come plain so you can add what you want. The service is quick and has a friendly vibe.

Great burger spot! New to the area so we wanted to checkout a good local spot instead of a chain burger spot. Huge dining area and the restaurant also has a bar. You pay when you order then wait for your name to be called once your food is ready. They have a condiment bar where you prep the toppings you want on your burgers, there's a large selection. There were a lot of people which felt like a good sign, but the service was also quick and easy so we didn't have to wait long for our food. Overall the burgers were really good. You can pick between a 1/2 pound or 1/3 pound burger. They have tons of options on the menu and also sell chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, fish and chips and fish sandwiches. The bacon cheeseburger was awesome as the patty was well cooked and seasoned and the bacon was crispy and tasty. The border burger was great too. Tasted home made. The green chiles were big and we wish they had been cut up but very tasty burger. The fries were nice and crispy and well seasoned. The onion rings were okay too, we could tell they got a little cold or that the oil was old so they tasted a bit off but we did go an hour before closing so we think they will be better next time when we go earlier. Overall very happy with finding this new spot for us to get local and homemade burgers. Would definitely recommend and plan to come back!

Came with work team for lunch and meeting. This was my second time here and the first for others. I had the big one with Cheddar and made it my own with the condiment bar...my burger was cooked a tad under so next time will ask for medium well. I don't like pink meat! I also got onion rings and zucchini, both which are perfection! Others got salads, burgers and everyone was sold on the zucchini! Great experience overall!!!

This place has been in business for over 40+ years and I finally had an opportunity to try them since I was in the area. It shares a parking area with other businesses in the complex. The lady taking orders, literally, was handling customers in line, phone calls and online ordering, but she was friendly and professional the entire time. I decided to try their "Big One" burger (1/3 lb) w/cheese and a side order of fried zucchini. You can see their chefs/cooks working hard on fulfilling orders and after about 10-15 minutes, my order was ready. While it's basically a burger, the patty was seasoned well and cooked properly. You do have the choice of how you build your burger with their sides wagon (ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, onions, etc...). It does have a western decor along with a lot of memorabilia items that include signs and toys. There is a person that comes through and cleans tables as they open up. It's a fairly good size building with various table configurations that also includes a bar with more tables and a common courtyard for outdoor seating. The prices are reasonable and they do offer a very extensive menu with other food options.

Another burger placed checked off the list in the quest to try all the great burgers in the Phoenix area. I loved the rustic old time interior. Order at the counter and they bring your food to you. All of the condiments and toppings are in a full service bar where you can grab anything that you'd want to add.

I was surprised just how big this place was inside and there's a bar that seems to be in a completely different area from the rest of the restaurant. The inside is full of interesting and antique looking decorations that give the place an interesting atmosphere. This is another place where you line up and order your food up front before finding your own table to sit at. They also have a condiment bar for adding your own basic toppings on the burger. I loved my fiesta burger and would love to get it again or try one of the other delicious looking burgers on the menu. We also tried the fried zucchini and that was also delicious.

I like this place because it has a vintage look to it. The decor is pretty unique and you feel like you travel back in time into an old burger joint. I like how they have the bar with toppings to make your burger the way you like it. The wings are delicious and so are the waffle fries. It's also a family friendly place!

Came on a Tuesday right at opening. Fairly large restaurant with awesome western vintage decor from days long gone. Only one other patron during this time. Good menu as it had plenty of hamburger combinations and side choices. Decided on the Big one (with grilled onions and mushrooms) with fries and the wife got the Small one with Onion Rings. We had a good laugh at their "Retirement Burger." Spent a good amount of time watching the burgers get grilled during our wait. It became VERY busy shortly after as well. Several large groups received their orders before us, which confused me since we were of the first three patrons. Finally got our order and we made our way to the wagon condiment bar line to build our dream burgers! Yes, we waited awhile, but it was worth it after we took our first bites! Flavorful patties and fresh veggies made me giddy. Couldn't stuff my face fast enough. Fries were not hot or crispy at all, so we sadly abandoned them. The onion rings were perfect though! Amazing crunch and taste! Would have ordered more, but the line became quite long. Although we had to wait a long time for our orders, the service was great and the burger quality was awesome! Will definitely be back to clog our arteries soon.

Food was great! Was a confusing experience at the register, very busy spot. The bar area was very loud. Love the whole chile on this burger.

    The decor is awesome!

We expected to get on sooner because the tickets said 7:30 but I guess the time to actually go inside, not when takeoff is. We sat down and got welcome drinks and peanuts. About 10 minutes after they started to take drink orders. I'm a lightweight so I didn't get anything but my husband got the chilte collab drink. It tasted a lot like tomato and was super unique. The tuna tostada was great alongside the pepper on the side. We then got mole which was the star of the show. The mole was so unique and spicy, I'd never had a mole like that before. The flight was 4d in that it moved like a real airplane. They then come around for martini cart service. They shake it in front of you so we had to try the dirty martini togarashi. It was super unique and perfectly salty. We then got the chilte taco which was good but nothing special. The dessert however was amazing! It tasted like a cheesecake. We then "landed" - it was faster than I thought, as it's 1.5 hours but settling in and getting everyone inside takes a while. The bathroom was a cool airplane looking bathroom, but huge. It's such a fun immersive experience. Server and bartenders were friendly and fun, and the vibes all around were just super happy. I loved the rolling martini cart that came around! The only reason I'm knocking a star is because when we booked (a party larger than 5) I emailed with the team there for our reservation. They mentioned the option to upgrade the reservation to a $100/person meal option which I declined. After we were seated small bites were passed around the plane. We noticed every table received it, so I truly thought it was part of the standard experience. It wasn't until the 3rd round of small bites went around that I realized we will probably be charged for the full service experience (which we were). Because this was a new experience for us, my suggestion would be to confirm the experiences with our table prior to passing around offerings. We aren't familiar with what to expect, so we didn't know it wasn't standard until it was too late. Otherwise, we had a great experience!
