First time here after picking up our rental car at Phoenix airport. We were hungry and Yelp lead us to this fun and interesting place. There is an extensive menu, so something for everyone. The three of us decided on a hamburger and we all enjoyed them. They were made fresh, hot, and juicy. The French fries were hot and crispy. The place has crazy and fun posters and memorabilia on the walls. The service was quick and friendly. You order at the counter and then pick up food when it's ready. The drinks are self serve. Many seem to stop here on the way out of the airport, as there are several foreign currencies to show off the different countries that have stopped there, placed at the counter. Very cool. I've never really felt the need to use yelp before, but after my visit to one of the craziest restaurants I've ever eaten at, I had to tell everyone. Walked in and was instantly overwhelmed by all the different menu options under one roof and definitely showed signs of it. Girl at the counter seemed to notice and helped me out right away. Leslie helped me navigate the menu(s) yes plural, and pick out my lunch. The Philly cheesesteak Moms way was perfection. I definitely should've gotten the smaller size, took home more than half. She also suggested I make it a combo, thank god I listened. The koolaid on tap was better than any I've had. I wish I was smart enough to take pics. Definitely will have to next time. read more

Haven't been to WTF in a couple of years but I took my granddaughter here last week and now she wants WTF every week. I arrived for a takeaway order at 11:45 on a Sunday and there were only a couple of tables full, with a couple others waiting for takeaway. I ordered three byo burgers, three fries and a drink. It all came to $50.45. Not bad for three full meals. Our order came out in about 10 mins, still piping hot. WTF offers something for everyone and now they offer protein burgers that my wife can eat. Great lunch spot! Service is on point. They are friendly, fast, AND ACCURATE! This is what generates repeat business... The food is very good, and there are SO MANY options. I have been here a lot over the years, and tried many things. And most recently, about a handful of times over the last 2 months, and it is consistently good. First, let me say Marlen P who rang us up at the register was amazing, definitely welcoming, she had my mom and friends and I laughing. WtfExp (or WTF Express) is one of the quirkier eateries in south Phoenix. I had a really disappointing experience at WTF Express today. We ordered online -- fish and chips and a Caesar wrap -- then I picked up my son from school and went to grab the food. While we were there, I added a cheeseburger and a slice of carrot cake that was clearly displayed behind the glass. When we got back on the freeway and closer to home, I realized the carrot cake was missing. I drove back (through traffic), not only because the cake was missing, but because my partner asked me to have the food remade since fish and shrimp don't stay fresh once they've sat. When I went back, the owner, Adam, was extremely dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of simply correcting the mistake, he insisted that because the carrot cake wasn't on the online receipt, he wouldn't do anything about it. He also claimed the carrot cake was "self-serve," even though it was clearly behind a case. No apology, no effort, no basic customer service. As a customer, the expectation is simple: if a mistake is made, make it right. Instead, he argued and refused to help, leaving us with cold food and no resolution. We will not be returning. This is a place with an enormous and eclectic menu. You can choose from burgers, hot dogs, Asian fusion, fry combinations, salads, and cheesesteaks. It is absolutely inane that this place refuses to serve cups of water like 99% of restaurants in America. Their beverage section even includes water but they just won't allow you to drink it apparently. They sell water bottles but the cashier said they ran out. However, once I started eating, I noticed there were water bottles to sell so apparently the cashier is too incompetent to know what water bottles are. There is a Yelp deal here for a free drink since the cashier refused to give me water. Instead, the cashier said they refuse to honor the Yelp check in deal. I asked if the name of their establishment was "WtfExp" and she said "yes" and then said that the restaurant on my app is not me despite it saying that it's verified by the owner. If the owner is reading this, I suggest hiring competent workers. I wouldn't bring any other deals/coupons here considering that the people here won't even honor them. I got myself a Mac Daddy Burger which is a burger with mac 'n cheese and bacon. The burger itself was of average quality; somewhat dry meat and lukewarm mac 'n cheese. This was my husband's and my first time at WTF. I ordered a make your own poke bowl, and he ordered the Greek burger with fries. I am mainly writing this review about the poke bowl, which was easily the worst poke bowl I have ever had. The primary reason for this is that they use basmati rice. Basmati rice does not go in a poke bowl. Poke bowls are supposed to use japonica rice. Basmati rice has completely the wrong texture and flavor and ruined the whole bowl. I have honestly never had a poke bowl that used the wrong rice like this before and I was really surprised. I suppose it makes sense that, in a place with a menu this large, they try to use the same ingredients across the menu, but you can't use basmati in poke. Quite frankly, given how large the menu already is, I don't even know why they chose to add poke to it if they weren't going to buy the right kind of rice for it. They also have signs advertising their 'sushi,' but they have no sushi. Sushi specifically, as a term, refers to japonica rice, and since they only serve poke bowls with the wrong rice I don't think advertising sushi is wise. In addition, the menu says you can choose up to 5 proteins. I chose 5 but received only three. Of the three, the salmon and tuna were good but the crab salad but totally tasteless. It didn't have the right seasoning, probably for the same reasons as above, ie. they didn't invest in the proper ingredients for poke. My husband said his burger was pretty tasteless but the fries were excellent. I am interested in other parts of their menu, so I may go back and update this accordingly once i've tried other things. The restaurant is very cute, the staff were all very nice, and I liked the environment. I am not sure why Yelp says they have limited vegetarian options. They had a ton of vegetarian options when I looked. read more

I have been here dozen of times dragging people from the airport, downtown Phoenix all the way from Surprise and Queen creek. This is my last time ever. I got this last order to-go. Super Sam protein style as always and a side of fries. It was ordered thru Grubhub and I watched the entire process of order to delivery. It was about 20 minutes in totality. I have had issues in the past with delivery from here, thus the reason I was tracking. The issue, today, is the super Sam is suppose to have grilled mushrooms per the menu. To-go they charge an extra $1. The possible two mushrooms were not grilled but canned. The meat was complete gristle to the point I couldn't chewed it. My fries weren't much more done than flash fried after being defrosted to a point. They weren't even cooked in the middle. I will complement on my daughter's poke bowl. Nice size chucks of salmon and tuna on the So Cal--Sauce on the side so nothing was drenched. No red onion or crab, which I would guess krab. $40 for two lunches and I'm starving. I was treating myself to a birthday lunch, and mine went to the dog. It always frustrates me when I pay extra for a menu item even though I get less than should be included. Let alone each item we specialized reducing food costs. And they couldn't even include two forks when utensils were requested. This is a time of week and year when the business is slow. School is out and downtown is a ghost town. Phoenix has plenty of excellent places to eat a mile up the way for the expense. Or go across the street to eat at places that have been in busy for decades. read more

I visited your restaurant recently and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered a gyro and asked if the sauce could be placed on the side. I was told there would be a $0.50 charge for that. I was surprised, because the sauce already comes with the meal, and there were free ramekins available for other condiments like ketchup and mustard. When I asked about it, I was told I was being charged for "labor." This policy didn't make sense to me and, more importantly, the way the situation was handled made me feel uncomfortable and out of place as a customer. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, it felt dismissive, and it left me feeling bad for even coming in. I believe customers should feel welcome and respected, and I hope you'll consider improving how situations like this are addressed in the future. read more

Not sure what more I can say other then "You've got to give this place a try"! I have passed this place way more times then I care to remember when visiting Phoenix and never stopped. Today after getting in late I was starving and decided to give WTF a shot and boy am I glad I did! The menu selection is pretty impressive ranging from salads to burgers to sandwiches with all the sides and more. I had a small issue at the kiosk and the young lady at the counter jumped right in and helped me out, she could not have been any nicer. I ordered a Turkey Sammy and fried zucchini sticks both were served quickly and freshly made. The guy at the counter made sure I had everything i needed like ranch dressing and ketchup before I left (my order was a to go). Both items were outstanding! Our WTF and DTF (yes, that's the real name) burgers were hot and fresh and delicious but the French fries were freaking amazing! I don't know what they used for seasoning but I could have eaten a whole plate of fries and died happy. This was a great find on our travels and I would make another trip to Phoenix just for this! Stopped by here for lunch with a co-worker. It is an all in one multi food restaurant. They have burgers, sushi, cheesesteaks, gyros etc. I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was average/good. The food was hot and had a good flavor. The rice was good. The hummus was nothing special basically sabra (which I do not like) and the small salad was not good. This a fast food type place and does what it's meant to do. The only thing I didn't like was the ventilation from the cooking smoke is not the best and you can definitely smell the cooking and smoke. I don't know what seasonings they use on their shrimp but it is amazing. Such a burst of flavor in every bite! The hoagie was filled with fresh goodness. The shrimp on the hoagie are smaller than the butterfly shrimp but still they are packed with just as much flavor. The pickles are big and homemade so they taste incredible. This was my first time giving this place a try so I'm very interested in trying out one of their cheesesteaks next time since they looked really good. This was a great choice for our group today! Two of my favorite things shined bright at WTF, Service and a Cravable Menu. Both were excellent Today!!! From the Street it looks like 5 different restaurants, on the inside it looks like a food hall. The place is super clean with newer sturdy furnishing, big bright menu boards and food everywhere. I especially liked the condiment table it was generous and well stocked. The beverage station was just fine and included a bank of slushy machines. Everyone said the food was great, and we all really liked the convenience of being such an excellent stop and meet up spot before a Diamond Backs game. I bet this place crushes it on Postmates and Door Dash and The dining room was just an extension of the delivery concept. They have all of the late night munchies and very good sandwiches for lunch.
