I stumbled on this place going from airport to office nearby. Wow glad I did. Yummy!!! Got the double hot dog with everything on it. Don't skip this place. I'll be back.

This is a pre review out of excitement. Wow I'm so happy to have. Wait first... let me take a bite. Ahhhhh-mayzing! I love me a good Chicago dog. Now I'm not from Chicago so I can't say what's actually right but from my understanding the only thing that's a little off is not having a poppy seed bun? But other than that it's absolutely perfect. And the bun is not a make it or break it for me, I just added the info for the review. I was driving down Broadway and spotted the Vienna beef umbrellas and that's always the best advertisement. It's hard to find Vienna beef in Arizona. I decided after my quest that I had to stop because who knows when I'll ever be back over here. So glad I did. What a treat. Seriously hits the spot. The maps say they open at 9:30 but when I got here it was open already with 2 people inside (that was 3 minutes til 9:30) So I'm not exactly sure their actual hours. Definitely gotta stop here if you're from the Midwest!

    Chicago dog

I stopped in here today around lunchtime. Ordered a Chicago dog and French fries. The dog was just right, with the condiments you come to expect (day-glo green relish and tomato, to name a couple) and the fries were freshly fried. It was moderately busy, but it only took a few minutes o get my to go order.

This place is amazing! the service was friendly, patient, and the food is delicious and fresh! Definitely a solid 9 out of ten

This place is amazing! The service was friendly, patient and fast! I got a jumbo dog with the works and it was fresh and full of flavor

This place is great! You wouldn't think of it driving by. Looking for new lunch places around my area decided to come here. It is small inside with a couple of tables to sit. Very simple menu but everything is made fresh! I ordered a turkey sub and fries. My husband ordered a Chicago style hot dog and fries. My sub was ssooo good! It was a good size very filling. The turkey in the sand which was good and it all tasted so fresh with good flavor. The fries were also good, they are made from cut potatoes there so they are really fresh. My husband hot dog was so tasty as well. They were friendly with the amount of fries as well. That is always a big bonus for me. The pricing of their menu is a deal! For the great quantity and quality you get! For sure will be coming back here for more food! Oh also the staff was very friendly! Can get busy during lunch time but they keep the line moving fast.

Jimmy's is the 5 Star hot dog spot you're hunting for when you want a no frills hot dog with fries spot. The best part about Jimmy's is you have to make the time to get here, because he's not going to work with your schedule. This shop is 9-5 and no weekends, which means the food you're getting is the real deal. This spot has fresh cut fries, tamale boat, and a double dog. The dining area is the size of a small patio, so get it and get out. Stop at Jimmy's and you'll know what's good Phx.

    Onion ring

I love this place. Seems like a genuinely awesome Chicago eatery. I'm originally from Illinois and would drive into Chicago several times a year throughout my entire childhood. This place feels like I'm back home and about to visit Grant Park. I got the Italian Beef sub, and it was amazing. I personally like my bread on the crisper side so I might request that next time, but I know traditionally it's on a fresh hoagie I believe so no complaints here. I'd post a picture of it but I ate it way too fast hahaha. I also got the onion rings and these honestly might be the best onion rings ever. The ranch was a nice pairing too. 10/10 would recommend.

Easily one of the best places in Phoenix to grab a bite to eat. I recommend anything on their menu - you will NOT be disappointed.

Is this place based off or same owners of the Jimmys off Grand and Pulaski in Chicago?

Not sure but I do not think so. Jimmy that owns it is from the Belmont/Harlem area. Jimmy's Hotdogs down near Bisbee has a relationship from the original Jimmy's. Check out the website for the Bisbee Jimmys. I really like the Jimmy's off of…

After searching online, I called one of JL Patisserie's other locations to ask whether they sold sourdough starter. The employee told me to head to the South 24th Street bakery because it was the location selling fresh starter that day. As someone who's just getting into sourdough baking, I really appreciated being pointed in the right direction before making the drive. When I arrived around 7:45 on a Saturday morning, the parking lot was overflowing. After circling for several minutes I finally found a spot, only to discover a line nearly reaching the door. Normally that might discourage me, but after walking inside it became obvious why so many people were willing to wait. The first thing that surprised me was the bakery itself. From the website, I had expected something that felt a bit older. Instead, the interior was bright, clean, modern, and beautifully designed. The open bakery, sleek white finishes, updated equipment, and thoughtfully arranged displays immediately gave the space a polished feel while still feeling warm and welcoming. The pastry case was just as impressive. There were rustic artisan loaves, oversized cookies, cinnamon rolls, pecan sticky buns, savory pastries, specialty Cruffins like the Banana Dulce de Leche and Cherry Cereal, along with a seasonal drink menu featuring items like the Biscoff Cookie Cold Brew, Hawaiian Latte, and Strawberry Cloud Matcha. Everything looked fresh and intentionally displayed--it was honestly difficult to decide what to order. I originally planned to leave with only the sourdough starter, but ended up adding the Quiche Lorraine, which was excellent once I got home. The crust stayed wonderfully flaky, and the filling was rich and flavorful without feeling overly heavy. The staff made an already great experience even better. They patiently answered my beginner questions about caring for sourdough starter and never made me feel rushed, despite how busy the bakery was. My total came to roughly $22, including the quiche, sourdough starter, tax, tip, and I walked away feeling like it was an excellent value for the quality of the products and service I received. I'd especially recommend JL Patisserie for adults looking for a leisurely morning coffee or pastry, anyone interested in artisan baking, or those wanting something beyond a typical neighborhood coffee shop. Families are certainly welcome, but this is an order-at-the-counter bakery that can get quite busy on weekend mornings, so arriving early is probably your best bet. I came looking for sourdough starter and ended up finding a bakery I'll be making excuses to return to. Places like this are more than just somewhere to grab breakfast--they become part of a neighborhood, bringing people together over good food and good conversation. It's easy to see why JL Patisserie has developed such a loyal following.

Afterwards, he mentioned that he tasted it and agreed about our comments- I appreciate that level of attention. Shortly after, the food arrived. Spicy pork tacos for me, and BLTA for my wife. The tacos looked a little overdressed. I was so wrong. Flavor and texture were balanced perfectly. The tortillas were firm, but again, perfectly suited to the juicy pork, that had a teriyaki vibe.
