Fried zucchini with two fish and a shrimp
    Wes S.

Don't judge a book by its cover. But you don't have to dress up either 32nd st and Washington is not convenient for me to go but my family and friends have gone there for decades for Fish & Chips. If you don't want French fries try upgrading to fried zucchini or mushrooms. Long loved local place to go for comfort food

Located in a bit of a questionable part of town, but don't let that stop you -- the food more than makes up for it. Their fish and chips are consistently excellent: crispy batter, flaky fish, and properly cooked chips. The fried zucchini is next level -- light, crunchy, and addictive -- and the sauce is what really seals the deal every time. My only gripe is that the fish portions have shrunk over the years, which keeps this from being a full five-star spot. Still, I've been coming here since I was a kid with my family, and it remains a reliably great place for a comforting seafood meal. Highly recommended.

Place smells weird, food is ok. Service is friendly. Seafood Platter Shrimp, ok cook on it, but they want like 3 bucks a shrimp, they are honest about what size shrimp they use (i forget but it was on the wall). But it's not that big and they cut it and fry it like a straight line, it wasn't that good. Clams, chewier than I would have liked but ok. Onion Rings were the best thing on the plate.... Hush Puppy - has bits of corn in it and a bit of a mexican salsa type thing going on but is not that flavorful Fish - tender fish, tasty

First timer -- This is the definition of "hole in the wall" diner, but good!! There is a smell when you walk in which made me little worried but it was good! Fish and chips -- batter could have better adhered to the fish, but the fish was flaky and delicious!! Chips (fries) were frozen and disappointing. Fish tacos -- I prefer flour tortillas, the corn tortillas were not heated and shredded apart so it was hard to eat. I probably wouldn't order these again. Zucchini -- holy large!! They were delicious but the grease holds inside and burns ya and with time made them very mushy which then was not good. Overall this place is a staple to the area. If close by, I would get the fish again.

My husband took me here for the first time, Good place to eat, just in time to get some yummy food . Inside of the restaurant looks so cool I like the atmosphere

Awesome seafood find in the desert! Cute decorations, friendly staff, quick service. Good selections. We are picky as we are from the north east coast and used to easy access to seafood. This is a good find. The clam chowder is amazing - must get. In a little bit of a questionable area but give it a chance and you won't regret it

This place is awesome! It has been there for decades. We had not been there in quite some time. Ended up close and saw it was still open. Was concerned based on some negative reviews. We went in anyway. Gal at the counter had been there since the last time we went. This place is unique and always has been. It is not a five star dining area. It is what it has always been. Good hot food served at a good price. We enjoyed the fish and chips. Onion rings tasty too. Fun atmosphere. Good customer service without an attitude. Tables and floor were clean. Did I mention the food was hot and right out of the fryer when they called our number? Condiments tasted fresh. You fill your own drinks. We found nothing to complain about. We will go back the next time we are in the area. Hopefully it will not be as long of a wait as this last time.

My family and I have been coming here since I was a kid. The food is always fresh and hot. There's many options for different platters. I don't believe that the fish is well seasoned so I always add hot sauce. The hush puppies are my favorite. They're nice and crispy but nice and fluffy on the inside. Service is always great. It's a check in and call your number system. There's plenty of indoor seating. There's no real decor! It's pretty much dining and open seating! Definitely worth a try if you visit Arizona l.

3 fish and 3 shrimp it's so yummy

Best fish and shrimp in Phoenix. Been eating there since the late 50's. I wish they would upgrade the interior. Redo the ventilation system.

Does this place sell lobster? It's in the name but I don't see any lobster on the menu?

Funny about the name, but no... fish, shrimp and fantastic hush puppies!

From the moment we walked in, everything was phenomenal. The service was stellar, attentive without being overbearing, and made the whole evening feel special. The atmosphere was the perfect balance of upscale and welcoming, with an incredible vibe that still made our kids feel comfortable and included. Now the food... unreal. Every single thing we ordered was perfection. The steak was hands down the best I've ever had in my life, cooked flawlessly and portioned generously enough that we even had leftovers. The elk medallions were absolutely superb, tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. And the sides? Just as impressive. Every bite was beyond amazing and clearly crafted with care. Even my extremely picky 11-year-old, who rarely likes much of anything when we go out, loved his meal, which honestly says a lot all by itself. This dinner was everything we hoped for and more. Incredible food, amazing service, generous portions, and an experience that felt both special and comfortable. We will absolutely be back and will be telling everyone we know how much we loved it. Thank you for making this birthday celebration so perfect!

We had the 16oz ribeyes, two cooked medium and two medium rare. All four were perfect, which rarely happens at steak restaurants. The flavor was very good and the steaks were tender and juicy. Two of us had a loaded baked potato which was a pretty standard potato - hard to mess up, but I always asks for a lot of extra butter and very rarely actually get it. I got plenty of butter. Two had the garlic mashed potatoes, which were also very good. We all had house salads which were fresh and cold and the various dressings (ranch, bleu cheese and orange balsamic vinaigrette were very good. We also shared a basket of onion rings which were excellent - perfect amount of crispy breading and perfect crispiness. For dessert one had pecan pie which was very good. The rest of us had the bread pudding. So - it was good but definitely not like bread pudding we've ever had. It was closer to a slice of marbled cake with ice cream and a drizzle on top. Not bad, just not what we expected or what bread pudding is to us. We'd definitely go back if we are back in town and want an upscale meal. The restaurant itself has apparently been around for decades and the walls reflect some awesome history, which was very cool in itself. The prices are a bit high - about $450 before tip and without any drinks, but otherwise, great place.

On top of that, the service was incredible. The main host, chef? Idk, but either way, he educated us on every dish, was clever and witty, and made us feel so comfortable. My husband and I came here for lunch on Valentine's Day and it was fantastic! We were seated outside on the patio, it was lovely as the weather was perfect. They had many plants and trees including a lemon and grapefruit tree! We ordered a variety dishes to share like the beef tartare with squid ink milk bread, Japanese sweet potato, Spanish octopus, golden beets and roasted cauliflower. I was impressed with everything. You can taste the quality in each ingredient and I appreciate that. My husband and I agreed that the Spanish octopus was our favorite dish. It was the best octopus I've had in a while, the char flavor and slight crisp was amazing. We enjoyed the creamy sauce, artichokes, and other veggies that came with this dish. The cauliflower and golden beets were incredible too. The chef told us that the Japanese sweet potato was one of the popular dishes, but out of everything we ordered, it was surprisingly my least favorite. It was still good but everything else tasted better to me. Pa'La is a bit pricey but the quality makes up for it. I would recommend this place for people who are visiting or for a date night!

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more King's Fish House 35 S McClintock Drive Tempe, 85281 Good places to have a fish dinner are getting hard to find. We decided to give this one a try. Companion and I arrived at 5:45 and were seated promptly. Our server Nikki brought menus and took our drink orders. We started off with Calamari. It was perfectly cooked and came with 2 sauces that I have never had served with it before. One was MaPloi, and the other was an aioli that was nicely spicey. The portion was large and unfortunately, we couldn't finish it. Companion ordered Fish & Chips. A nice sized portion of cod, perfectly fried. Unfortunately, the chips were not fried the way companion asked for them and most of them were left on the plate. For myself, I ordered the Scallop & Shrimp Combo which came with nicely prepared brussel sprouts which were grilled and then had balsamic vinegar over them. I also ordered the char broiled zucchini, which I did not care for and left most of it on my plate. On to desserts! Desserts are prepared in house and not from the outside. Companion ordered Bread Pudding. Sliced from a loaf and served with a Jack Daniels Whiskey sauce and a ball of vanilla ice cream. Companion was so full that it was not finished but not before declaring it to be delicious. I ordered the Butter Cake. A delicious cupcake sized portion tasting deeply of butter, served with whipped cream, berries, and topped with vanilla ice cream. Once again, the portion was so big that I could only eat half of it. As one might expect in a restaurant of this caliber, it was squeaky clean. Service was efficient and almost all of the food was prepared as ordered. 5 stars
