This place is absolutely amazing. The food is delicious. The restaurant is ALWAYS clean. The staff is so friendly. It's hands down my favorite restaurant in the valley! Get the fried clams read more

Not the best and not the worst, this is just an okay choice for fried fish in Phoenix. The service was a mess: don't get me wrong, she was kind, but she said she didn't know how to make a drink (and asked us how many shots go in a rum and Coke!) yikes. Don't recommend this spot if having a drink is a part of your plan. The fish and breading was bland, and the fries very very salty. It was not memorable by any means. They had a large sized menu though so there's options to consider if maybe what we got just wasn't very good. Overall, I didn't like my experience here and likely will not be back. read more

First visit. I have been wanting to stop by but the 40 minute drive (w light Saturday traffic) to Glendale location. Amazing service and tasty food. I had a hankering for baked cod. I will definitely come back to try other options. Please consider adding a far west valley location. With all of the Midwest and Northwest transplants fish eating folks you would be very busy. The inside is very clean and inviting natively theme. read more

Arrived right at opening for what I've been reading about "the best fish and chips in Phoenix" for quite a while. Clean, orderly and decorated appropriately with seafarer motif. Service was with a smile and a thank you. May be some of the best fish and chips and fried calamari I've ever had. Here's the hitch. The portion size, abysmal. 18.95 for four skinny calamari pieces and what appeared to be a fish stick, not a plank. Outrageous price. Total bill for two combos and drinks, $49.72 for the worst portions per price I've ever seen. I would be happy to go back any time for the quality food and service, however the portion size will be preventing that. Very sad. read more

Oscar's Pier 83 - "Jumbo" shrimp combo. What a joke on the jumbo part - Fish & Chips Near Me - Glendale, Arizona

Not bad, not good. Cost was high, service was ok. Really no reason to come back.

My wife and I stopped for lunch at Oscar's Pier 83, a casual seafood restaurant in Glendale on the northwest corner of 59th Avenue and the 101. The restaurant specializes in both fried and broiled seafood options. They are family owned and have been in the Valley for over 20 years. I ordered their signature fish & chips $20.95 and being Sunday it was all you can eat. I chose tilapia the fish was pretty good light and flakey but I didn't care for their fries and would order it again but would go for steak fries instead. Shanda had the shrimp Louie salad which left he wanting the shrimp lacked flavor and the Louie dressing was bland the cost was $16.99. We wound up switching entrées in the middle and I ate her salad. Happy wife happy life. read more

I'm not out this way often but did give this place a try. Staff were friendly and helpful here. This is a seafood place and they have lots on offer, if you like fried foods. I tried to avoid an all fried meal, so had their broiled cod, steamed veggies plate. I didn't want the seafood pasta salad and substituted with hush puppies (oh well so much for not wanting anything fried). The broiled cod was pretty terrible, rubbery and overcooked and tasteless. I really had to try and finish all of my meal. The steamed veggies felt like they were frozen and just steamed up. Hush puppies were solid but then again you can't go wrong with the taste of fried, right? They have a soda fountain here and seltzer water and lemons available. Place was clean and bathrooms were fine. Also, had an outside patio space too. Sadly, I really wanted to like this place, but everything was pretty lackluster here minus the excellent service. I doubt I'll be coming back here, unless I may want some hush puppies... read more

Firstly, Oscar's is not a bar. It's probably the best seafood restaurant in Phoenix and happen to have some available adult drinks. The most tender, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth seafood is what Oscar's serves. Even better, every single wonderful person working there, especially Kari, is kind, considerate, helpful and just wants to provide you with the best food and service. Bonus, they completely respect dietary concerns and are happy to make adjustments per your needs. As a T1D, my diet is strict and Oscar's is one of the very few restaurants I can get an actual full meal and not worry about dietary impact. We enjoy Oscar's so much we go at least once a week. Definitely put Oscar's on your list for great food, great service and a family, home atmosphere that invites you in. If there were 10 stars, Oscar's would get it. read more

Best ever & now with Bruce Donaldson singing there is icing on the cake or tarter sauce on fried shrimp

I've been here before but forgotten the name, so it had been a minute since I was back. Service is okay, no issues, it seems like a place with a lot of regulars. Vibes are pretty chill, "fishing boat" themed decor, fitting with the name. The food was pretty good. I was craving fish and chips, but not regular fish and chips, "good" fish and chips. The 2 piece fish and chips comes with a hearty portion of shoestring fries. They aren't anything special but they weren't bad at all. The fish is definitely the star. The batter is nice, it doesn't just get soggy when you add malt vinegar. It was crisp, cooked nicely and the fish tasted better than I remembered. You can choose different types of fish, I just went for the cod because that's what I was craving. It also comes with coleslaw and I like the coleslaw here a lot. It's not overly sweet, not too "soupy". Yum. I definitely will be back, and I can't wait to try the calamari. They have different specials too, don't forget to try those! read more

Enjoyed our Friday Fish Fry meal at Oscars. I ordered a Catfish filet with hush puppies. Both excellent choices. My wife chose the shrimp Louise salad and enjoyed it. The service was prompt and handled well. The dining room was clean. On Fridays live music was provided. A nice addition, but the volume was a little too loud. Most other people chose tables away from the music. We'll return for other seafood dinners in the future. read more

This is by far the worst sea food I have ever eaten. The deep fried clams were absent of any clam flesh and was just fried batter, the deep fried oysters were overly battered and the oysters tasted old. I will never eat here again or recommend this eatery to anyon. read more

This is a place you order your food at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. It wasn't busy, so we were waited on right away and easily found a table. We just wanted water to drink with our meal. There is a self serve water dispenser with plastic cups. The three of us all took a taste, and immediately we all said, it tasted bad. The water tasted fishy! It also had that old refrigerator smell. We decided we would eat our meal without water. My sister and I both got the salmon and we both thought the salmon was dry, overcooked, and very fishy. It left a bad aftertaste in our mouths. The large serving of vegetables were good, and the side serving of pasta was just ok. We also tried the clam chowder, it was very thick and pasty and was more like a gravy than a soup. The staff were friendly and the place was very casual but clean. Unfortunately, we all were very disappointed in the food and will not be returning any time soon. read more

I stopped in at Oscar's Pier 83 for a quick lunch after running errands in Glendale because it had such high ratings and reviews on Yelp. I'm glad this spot popped up on Yelp because I wouldn't have found it otherwise and it's a charming little fish and chip shop that's great for a nice lunch or dinner. It's clean and warm inside with very friendly staff. I decided to get the cod slider special Because I didn't need anything too big for lunch. It comes as (2) Cod Sliders topped with Coleslaw & Pickles, with lots of House Fries & a cup of tartar sauce. The fish was delicious with a crispy breading and a soft interior. The grease tasted nice and clean. All around very good fish. I'd like to come back and try the fish and chips, and also the wild mahi sandwich, when I have a bigger appetite. There's table seating surrounding the kitchen and counter in a U-shape, and patio seating on one side of the restaurant. There is a small bar with high chair seating as well. There are several TVs that play Fox News with the sound on. Men's and women's restroom available for customers. A large, private parking lot is shared with other businesses, with parking spots available directly in front of the shop. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Save yourself some money and buy fish at the store. This place is WAY overpriced and overrated. We are one and done I wish I could get a refund read more

Thanks Mo. for leading me to Oscar's!! I have been a few times for pickup now and it's consistently amazing food and service! The broiled salmon plate is what brought me here. The seafood salad is the most amazing pasta salad I've ever had in life!! Ugh it's so good and filled generously with shrimp, crab, scallops, so good!! The broiled salmon is cooked and seasoned to perfection and the veggies are so good! The catfish filet and fried shrimps are huge portions and quality food. The customer service has been so friendly as well. I'll be back soon for another delicious meal! read more

The food itself is fresh as can be. The fish flaky, the shrimp plump, the tacos filled to the brim. But what really separates is the friendly and helpful staff. Specifically Carrie (I hope I spelled that right). Have a party for the 4th and decided would see if could order catering size of Oscar's amazing seafood salad for a side. She immediately hopped on with the owner who didn't have the large quantities but instead of saying sorry no go offered the 24/32oz bowl sizes. Didn't stop there. Was ready to pack it up and bowl the salad and send me on my way but that wasn't enough. She went in the back to check the freshness of (made date). She kindly mentioned it was made prior and while still fresh offered if I could wait until today (4th) would have a brand new batch ready for me for the days offering. Immediately jumped at the chance. I already opened one and started digging in as it really is amazing but she went above and beyond. Her demeanor. Her politeness. Sweetness. She's an absolute gem and the restaurant is lucky to have her at the helm. Thank you to Carrie and to the owner for running such a great team with a premium offering and very competitively priced on top of it all. I truly appreciate you for helping make our party a success and more so how sweet and caring you are to ensure satisfaction. You have a customer for life. read more

Oscar's Pier 83 - The seafood pasta salad. Other places have been put on notice. Plumb shrimp, crab, creamy, cold and delicious. - Fish & Chips Near Me - Glendale, Arizona

As always amazing! We found this place on opening week just by a chance. Dad and I decided to go in and enjoyed it so much it is one of our regulars as most people know we still recommend them to this day. Their clam chowder is the absolute best in the state and since we went to Seattle, acriss state lines too in our opinion. Mom's too. When she was in the hospital after a stroke and refused to eat anything they helped us out with thinning the chowder down a little for her because we were worried it would be too thick. And this was the only thing she regularly ate besides frostys so we were so appreciative of the staff for helping us with that. It's a great memory we reminisce on, now that she has past. But as always love the food and recommend the fish and chips, get your cod grilled or fried both are amazing. Their calamari is amazing too! read more

Came in on a Sunday and the place was pretty empty (not for long). We were greeted by a super nice lady that helped us through the menu (we wanted to try everything). The place was very clean and had a nice casual vibe to it, with NO fish smell whatsoever! We ordered the All you can eat Catfish, (2) Fried Shrimp meals, Calamari appetizer, cup of Clam Chowder and hush puppies. The fish was FANTASTIC-not fishy tasting- and had the perfect crisp to it. Clam Chowder was great and the Calamari was not chewy - all was perfectly cooked! The shrimps were HUGE and meaty, not just breading! Next time we have a fish craving, Oscar's will be our first choice!!! read more

First time here. Was craving fish and chips and saw there was an all you can eat option on fridays. Showed up and there was a big line. Only two registers taking orders. Order at the counter then they bring your food to the table. WELL... there is an all you can eat fish and chips but everyday EXCEPT Friday!! lol just my luck!! Well ordered the 3 piece tilapia plate. The fish was deep fried in batter. Tasted a little fishy but decent. The tartar sauce was pretty bland. The fries were salty but the coleslaw was good. Overall it was pretty average. More like a fast food meal than a sit down type dinner. I probably won't come back unless I'm in the neighborhood and definitely not a a Friday! read more

Oscar's Pier 83 is really good. The food is fresh and exactly what would be expected with a fish and chips place. We ordered the two piece cod fish and chips and the one piece cod plus four jumbo shrimp combo meal. We also took a piece of catfish and a side of seafood pasta salad to go. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is casual dining. You order at a counter and the food is brought out to your table when ready. There's self service of drinks and condiments. We had combo meals. I had cod and clam strips and my spouse had fried shrimp and clam chowder. Everything came out quick, fresh and hot. Food was tasty and the oil they cooked in was "clean". Only recommendation we have is on the Cole slaw it was a little too vinegar strong and the clam chowder could have had more clams. We'll be back though to try other things since we love fresh seafood. Service was great! read more

Great food and stellar prices. Staff is very pleasant and it has a very laidback and casual vibe.

Well it had been awhile since last visit. Was in mood for clam chower and was soot on. Unfortunate after that it went straight down. Order 1 piece fish and chips. Terrible choice. The COD fish as shaped like a popsicle I kid you not. Not sure what it was but bad. Fries were no better. Limp with no flavor. There are too many great fish places in arizona but this is not one. read more

My family and I have been here a few times. Each time it seems like the food gets better and better. The fish, grilled or fried, is always moist, flaky, and tender. My new favorite is the fried catfish. It's a big thick piece of catfish, not those little over fried strips you get from other places. We've had the cod as well, and it never disappoints. My husband loves the broiled salmon! It's never overcooked, always full of flavor. This time, we also tried their clam chowder, and it was thick and creamy and stuffed full of clams. I'm seriously thinking about ordering the gallon to go next time. And even then, my husband might not get any. This place is highly recommended! Don't forget to try their seafood pasta salad either! The staff there is very friendly and accommodating. They always put a smile on our faces. read more

the food is a little pricey but so good i got a pore boy sandwich the bread was so soft an buttery it had at lest 20 or more shrimp i even gave the girl friend some plus cole slaw an if you want more its free. Yay! I have added some pics. see previous review for most items Cod Cake is good flavored but it's not as good as a crab cake, I'd just skip it and go for a fried piece of other fish. We used to get takeout all the time but the last 2 times it's been subpar. The Cod doesn't taste like the same Cod they used to have. This fish is oily and the breading breaks and falls off.
