The food and service here were pretty good. I'd say the piece of cod was a bit small for price but was tasty. The clam chowder could have used a bit of salt and pepper. The clam strips were really delicious and the hush puppies stole the show. They were just the right balance of soft in the center and crispy on the outside. We were first greeted by Carrie, who is an absolute joy. She welcomed us as if we remember her of her own family when we ordered she politely informed us that tonight was all you can eat catfish and tilapia, which I took full advantage of From there. Good fish is hard to find and unfortunately Oscar's does not perform. Not impressed by the food prep or taste. Parking can be hard to find on a Friday night. Service was very slow. Take your order and wait a while to get it. On time, ordered food, waited 1/2 hr. Went up to cashier and asked her to check it out. "Can't you see we're busy? ". Best fried seafood in the valley! Food is made fresh to order and always piping hot. French fries are always good. Get the seafood pasta salad! It's a tasty upgrade. Also believe it or not. They offer different options, French fries, salad, coleslaw etc to go with your meal., A few TVs around andself serve beverages. We've been coming here for well over a decade at this point. Sometimes, I just feel like I need to hit this place us up, stat. Today was that day. They have a long haired male employee who never seems to remember me (understandable since I tend only to come in once a year) but I know he has been here forever and does an excellent job. I know the term "jumbo is relative and is often misused" but these were JUMBO shrimp thank goodness I didn't get the 6 I could never have finished them. The fries were crispy and not too salty, staff was AMAZING welcoming and patient A+ my mom had a seasonal special of theirs soft shell crab and let me say this she is VERY PICKY about her soft shell crab and struggles to find a restaurant that suits her, she said it was very good and it was literally three good size crabs and it had such a nice sweetness to it that is indicative of blue crabs.
