Food: Excellent sushi! This might be one of my new favorite sushi restaurants in NYC. We ordered a variety of appetizers, noodle dishes, and sushi and sashimi. The fish was very fresh and good quality. We tried the fried purple yams, fried chicken, stir fried udon, yakisoba, and a variety of sushi platters. I would highly recommend the Tokyo Don which was a variety of fish and seafood on a bed of rice. The Salmon Lover's was also excellent, and slices of fish were nice and thick. Service: Service was wonderful! Our waiter was attentive and came back to check on us throughout the meal. There's a button to press when you need service, and our waiter was always quick to come after we pressed it. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables sectioned off into small "rooms". There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. We recently visited for a birthday and it was a great experience. From the moment we sat down, the staff was incredibly thoughtful--they actually brought out coloring books and markers for my two children right away. It was an absolute lifesaver that kept the girls happily entertained. And the food was absolutely worth savoring. We kicked things off with a round of handrolls--salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and yellowtail--which were perfectly crisp and packed with fresh fish. I went all in on the Salmon Lovers set, and it was an absolute dream. It came with a massive, beautiful spread of salmon sushi, seven thick pieces of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, a bright kani salad, and a really savory piece of grilled salmon. We also shared the Ysukiji sushi platter, which featured a gorgeous, high-quality assortment of cuts, while the Smoked Chicken bento box was a huge hit, offering fantastic cooked flavors and generous portions. The room we were in mimicked a traditional Japanese room where everyone had to sit on the floor and put their legs under the table. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. Osaka Sushi is a great spot for fresh, flavorful sushi! The fish tasted very fresh, the rolls were well made. The quality for the price is great and the rolls were balanced perfectly -- not overloaded with rice like some places tend to do. You can tell they care about quality. Our party of 12 visited Osaka Fusion for a Saturday lunch. This is a small bi-level Japanese restaurant located in a popular shopping and dining area. Upstairs there are private stalls with curtains for privacy. The stairs going down are difficult to navigate, but once there you are greeted with 2 adjoining rooms with sliding doors, again for privacy. The rooms are hard to describe except to say they have a hole in the floor to accommodate your legs when you sit. Older adults and people with physical disabilities will do better with the upstairs facilities. Hot tea and WiFi are complimentary. The service is friendly. The food came out fairly quickly. For drinks, my sister ordered Yuzu Sparkling water. I ordered a Mango Cream soda. She liked her drink better, and I liked mine. For food, we ordered a Sushi and Sashimi platter, Beef Yakitori Skewers, Japanese Fried Chicken, Fried Purple Yam, Osaka Yakisoba Noodles, and Yaki Udon. The various sushi and sashimi were spot on fresh and delicious. I also really enjoyed the Purple Yam. I thought the noodle dishes were just average. Yelpers get a free dessert if you ask, but I did not like the matcha or the mango cake. The bathrooms also could be cleaner. I had been wanting Japanese and I did not get a chance to have any until then and they were one of the few spots still opened that late into the day. I tried their Tokyo Don for takeout. It was nice and fresh. I enjoyed it very much. A couple months later, I came here again with my sister and my daughter. We were seated pretty quickly, within 20 minutes. I did not even know they had a downstairs but they did. It was more like a private room, very comfortable. The staff was pretty nice too though not as attentive as other places. We then ordered the Tokyo Don again, a salmon fried rice, beef skewers, and the Salmon Lover. The fried rice was good. Very flavorful. The salmon was surprisingly good and not fishy at all, but a bit dry. The grilled salmon as part of the Salmon Lover was much better. All 3 of us loved it, despite my sister and I not being fans of cooked fish and my daughter being pickier than a professional food critic. My daughter also liked the beef skewers. My sister and I thought it tasted similar to a particular beef dish -- steak with chinese broccoli, from the chinese restaurant. I personally feel like they deserve a full 5 stars just for satisfying my difficult daughter lol. The 3 rolls for $13.95 is also not a bad deal. Both my sister and I became a fan of this place. It's a cute little Japanese restaurant with both yakitori and sushi. We were seated at the sushi bar. We ordered the following to share: Ankimo Spicy Scallop HR Spicy Tuna HR Chicken eel Don Chicken Yakitori Mix Sashimi regular Food came out quick and service was good. Ankimo was torched and we actually preferred regular untorched. Both Spicy scallop and spicy tuna handroll were good. 4 mixed chicken yakitori included skin, heart, gizzard and chicken thigh. Yakitori was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Chicken Eel Don was also yummy. Sashimi regular had a good amount of fish and all were fresh. I didn't like that the Ikura was vinegary. Had my eye on Osaka Fusion Sushi for a while, and finally had a chance to stop by with my fiance for a late dinner. Surprisingly, the restaurant was still PACKED at 8:30pm, with more diners coming in at 9:30pm & on. The restaurant looks to be a bit on the cozier/smaller side, but I think they might have additional seating downstairs (?). We each ordered a maki combo (comes with 3 rolls), and the sashimi regular (16 pieces) to share. I enjoyed my maki roll selections - I ordered the california, eel/avocado, and spicy salmon. My fiance's were just okay - the yellowtail was definitely fishy and a bit unpleasant. The sashimi platter was a highlight; the sashimi isn't skimpy and paper thin, and there's good variety. Most items came with about 2-3 pieces, except for the uni, ikura, and ebi. The yellowtail on the platter was fresh - a pleasant surprise considering the maki rolls. I wish the maki roll combo came with a side though, maybe a salad or soup. A few other items to note - Osaka is one of the most reasonably priced spots in the area, especially for the variety of menu options they have. Service was nothing to write home about. Came here for weekday dinner and it was quite empty. We were seated immediately in the booth seating. There's a call button for you to call for the waiter if you needed anything. Service was prompt and they did come in once to check up on us and refill our tea. We ordered the Osaka sashimi deluxe and the yakitori set. The sashimi presentation was quite pretty! The pieces of fish were also fresh and delicious. One thing was we didn't particularly like the uni / fish roe with the cucumber. Felt like the flavor profile wasn't that great with cucumber. The yakitori was just okay. Nothing special and was a little salty. The yakitori set feels a little overpriced so I'll suggest skipping the yakitori. My biggest issue was the restroom. It was quite dirty. It felt kind of disgusting using the bathroom and really turned me off from the whole atmosphere. There was only a little bit of toilet paper left and I was looking in the bathroom for any replacements but there weren't any. The soap bottle had the nozzle broken so the soap wasn't even coming out properly. Overall: the food is good but given the bathroom situation, I feel uncomfortable to come again. read more

I have been here on multiple occasions and the food is pretty good. I love the selection of appetizers on the menu, both hot and cold options available. I would definitely recommend getting the yakitori, I've tried nearly all of the yakitori options and I've enjoyed them all (I love food on a stick)!! I dined alone the most recent time I went and got the chicken yakitori mix and the sushi deluxe. The chicken gizzard was so yummy, I wish I had more! The sushi was good and the fish was very tasty, I loved the tuna the most!! The only thing I did not like was the texture of the squid (? last piece furthest from me in the photo). It was very slimy and difficult to chew. I also had a stomach ache shortly after when I got home (maybe not related to the food, I didn't eat all day, and I haven't had an issue in the past). The restaurant is pretty small but I've only had to wait more than 20 minutes once out of the four times I've been there. They also have additional seating downstairs. The service is good, I don't really go expecting over-the-top, standout service. Servers are nice, food gets to you quick, and I've never had the wrong order placed. :) read more

Neighborhood gem. I've eaten here many times before, takeout and dine-in. The service and quality of the food is consistently great. Food is still great but service was a bit weird today. I ordered the Osaka sashimi platter for 2. The menu lists out all the types of fish. I didn't want octopus and told the waitress. She said that was fine and we agreed on a sub that would cost a little extra. When the platter arrived, the tako wasn't there but neither was my sub. The woman who brought the plate over was different from my server and wasn't exactly the most helpful in explaining what happened. She was saying it could be octopus or squid, depending on what's available. Menu doesn't state that. But what really ended up happening (based on my own observation), is that they replaced the tako with surf clam. Which I would have preferred subbing even if I was to pay extra. None of this was explained and the woman bringing the plate made it seem like I was the confused one. Our server stopped by afterwards to tell me I wasn't charged because there was no octopus anyway. It was a confusing interaction and definite ly left an unpleasant feeling after spending quite a bit for a lunch. Today we ordered: - the fish curry; which was actually really crunchy and well fried. The curry has a very light kick. This would be a very filling meal for anyone. - the crab and masago fried rice. The rice was well prepared; nice texture and seasoned well. Not much crab and not much masago though the menu picture is quite misleading. However, a generally great fried rice - two 300 ml sakes. One was a nigori and the server must not get them often bc she didn't shake it and poured it for us. - the sashimi platter as mentioned before. A few misses with this; the squid weirdly had no flavor. It's usually sweet but this had nothing. The ikura was very sweet and I couldn't taste the usual briney yumminess of the roe. Good ambiance I ordered the Tokyo Don, Salmon Don and the Japanese curry katsu and some skewers chicken gizzards and pork belly. Everything was very good and the fish were very fresh. The sushi and sashimi are more pricy than the bentos but they are in good quality and portion. We were seated right away b/c we had a reservation as they get busy pretty quickly into the night. These could have been pre-made, frozen and bought by the box from a distributor. Takoyaki: awful. The octopus was hard and chewy. I only ate half of one. So disappointing Japanese Fried Chicken: fairly flavorless. Like little chicken nuggets. I ate a couple with pickled ginger from a sushi roll, and dipped in the dumpling sauce. I wouldn't recommend these, either Grilled pork belly: only two pieces, but incredibly delicious. Jeremy wants to learn how to make this. Salmon avocado roll: quite tasty. This made me understand how people can eat an entire sushi roll. Usually I can't make it through all six pieces, but then again, I tend to get sushi from Harris Teeter, which isn't bad but not the best. Omg Roll (Eel, scallop, eel, uni, top salmon) expensive, but the pinnacle of sushi. INCREDIBLE. If I was made of money I would eat this all the time. Ordered the beef yakitori, Tokyo Don, eel cucumber hand roll, spicy tuna roll and a dancing eel roll. Plenty of food for two! I'd skip on the beef yakitori, but everything else was delicious. Today I went to Osaka Fusion BBQ & Sushi with my best friend. We planned to dine in, but the waitress told us the wait would be 30 minutes, so we ordered takeout instead. After walking around for about 10 minutes, we came back and saw plenty of empty seats, even two private rooms. I asked a male server if we could just eat there since the food wasn't all ready yet. He said yes, but we would need to eat from the takeout boxes, which we didn't mind. But when we tried to sit in a private room, the waitress told us no, saying takeout can't be eaten inside. I explained that the male server just agreed, but she still refused and only offered us outside seating. In the end, we had to take it to go. Some of the food wasn't even ready yet, so it really made no sense. The food itself is okay, but the service and attitude were disappointing. I won't be coming back. read more

There are three rooms in the basement, which can sit up to seven people in each, and you get to sit on the floor, but it's still like a western table because there's a huge area underneath to put your legs. We were given hot tea and ordered food. And kept ordering. And everything came out relatively quickly despite the fact that they were fully packed upstairs. We stayed about three hours and never felt rushed. Everything tasted super fresh and even the deep fried items didn't taste oily. I asked for recommendations for a new sushi spot and I was given a different place, finally told my husband I wanted sushi today and he said where and I told him a different place but he found Osaka himself and said" let's try this one first" I love cooked sushi! You won't catch me eating raw unless it's smoked salmon. Anyway! I looked up the menu and saw "Big Lobster Roll" it looked really good, so I was SOLD!!! From pictures the place looked really clean and nice so that was a plus. My husband went out and got the Big Lobster Roll and let me tell you......Oishiiiiiiiiii!!!( Delicious) one of the best sushi I've ever eaten. So fresh! Love this place! The sushi is so fresh and tasty. And reasonably priced. Free green tea pudding with Yelp check in! The pudding is topped with a spoonful of sweetened red beans. A delicious dessert! My favorite is salmon and here, it's melt in your mouth fresh and yummy. My favorite dish here is the Salmon Lover. It's salmon four ways plus a side of kani salad with some roe on top. Thick generous portions of sashimi, also has sushi, salmon avocado roll, and a grilled salmon collar (when available, otherwise you get 2 pieces of salmon belly). This place is so good, in one week, I went 3 times and still not tired of it. Not crazy about the chicken kaarage. The pieces are too small so when fried, it becomes dry and loses its juicy tenderness. Tried some skewers. A tad on the dry side. I'd stick with the sushi. Though the skewers were very popular with the kids at the table. Service. Attentive. Tea constantly being refilled. Decor. It's a small place. Lots of wood decor. Another great sushi spot in Bensonhurst. It can be a small wait sometimes, due to the size of the restaurant, but it'll be worth it. It has a pretty diverse menu in terms of Sushi and other Japanese entrees. I typically get a bento box or a don. For the price, there is a good amount of food. The fish here has been pretty good so far. I typically get Salmon and the toro and I'm never let down. As for the service, I have only been seated in the curtained booths. I like the semi-privacy and that the wait staff will only check in when you press the call button. Definitely give this place a try and come hungry. read more

Doesn't come with tempura though which may be why it's cheaper. Taste wise, it's comparable to other Japanese restaurants around the area. Grilled pork belly yakitori- pretty good. I liked the little green sauce they put on top of it Chicken gizzard yakitori- decent and crunchy We ordered a matcha crepe cake and told them it was for a bday and they comped us for that which was nice of them. It was decent. Service was pretty quick. There's a call bell. U just ring it when u need someone and they come fairly quickly. Overall, I had a decent experience here.
