Osa is such a pretty rooftop in Pasadena. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The views were amazing and so was our service. We ordered a couple of mocktails to start with- the Merry Roses and Beetroot. Both drinks were refreshing and uplifting. We shared the peach burrata salad, king salmon crudo, and beef carpaccio. Peaches were not in season, so they were replaced with pear slices for the salad, and it was nice and light. The presentation for the crudo was lovely and really delicious. The beef carpaccio was my least favorite. It needed a bit more flavor. For our entree, we opted for the grilled swordfish. This fish was moist and so flavorful. We were too full for dessert and it also started raining, so it was perfect timing to leave. I'll need to save room for dessert next time!

Went to Osa last night to celebrate my graduation and everything was absolutely fantastic! All of the food was delicious. I got the chicken tacos and they were so moist. The burger was very juicy as well. Vibes were really nice and my entire evening felt super celebratory.

I wanted to spend my birthday at a rooftop restaurant that was more on the casual side. After attending a Yelp event here when they first opened last summer, I thought this would be the perfect place. WRONG!!!! They use "Open Table" to make reservations where they specifically ask if it's a "Special Occasion" as well as for any requests. WHY BOTHER??? This place did not even acknowledge any of my requests. When we arrived, Emma, the hostess was so busy talking to a female server that she completely ignored us. That already took my review down a star. After waiting a few minutes, I had to politely say "HELLO," in order to get her attention. BTW - no apology was given! She then sat us at a table in the middle of the place and told me that no other tables were available with a view only by the bar (which was extremely LOUD!) That was complete BS since after we sat she managed to sit a few other couples at the long table I requested!!! Gets better! We sit down next to a couple of women with one saying the "F Bomb" every other word!" I actually started counting her! She was up to 13 F bombs every 5 minutes... We sat for at least 10 minutes, ignored again until I asked Emma as she walked by if we had a server. 5 minutes later our server Alejandro, with NO personality, or as my mother would say, " Dead From The Neck Up," came to our table. We ordered drinks which finally came when our appies came! The menu is limited but we did enjoy the beet salad and the "Hand Pressed Tostones." We also shared a burger for $28! To make a very bad experience here even worse, my birthday was NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED! NO happy birthday, no cake, no nothing! Just a bill for $111 that included 2 drinks, 2 appies and 1 burger w/fries that we shared! Not a memorable birthday dinner:( ~ and that's all I have to say about that...

@osarooftop in Pasadena is a beautiful rooftop restaurant that brings the vibes and food. Everything is shareable and I especially loved their arancini. It was so crispy and had this cheesy savory sauce on the bottom that I scraped off the plate. I also loved their cheesy chicken tacos that was loaded with a huge patty of melted cheese, tender chicken, and pickled onions. Honestly surprising that such a nice establishment served this good of street food.

Came here for a friends bday brunch the scenery is so stunning. Food is pretty good I've tried the swordfish and the steak, would recommend both. Menu is pretty small and limited but has something for everyone. Drinks are pretty. I think it's a good spot for a birthday dinner or brunch make reservations in advance.

My sister and I stopped by for an early birthday celebration on a Friday evening. The rooftop is located on the sixth floor and we arrived just in time for the sunset which was a beautiful view! I ordered the Cactus Cooler which comes with mezcal and it was good! My sister got the Merry Roses mocktail and she loved it too! For food, I ordered the King Salmon Crudo and it was different from what I expected. I am use to the crudo being more citrus and spicy flavor and this one has a more sweet flavor. Our server was friendly and surprised my sister with a slice of cake for her birthday which was really sweet! They take reservations so I recommend booking in advance!

A truly unforgettable evening. The food was magnificent, the drinks impeccably crafted, and the service graceful and attentive from beginning to end. The rooftop itself felt like stepping into another era, with Casablanca playing softly on the wall, casting that timeless old Hollywood glow over the entire place. And then there was the company of Dr. Parker. Effortless conversation that lingered and that rare kind of chemistry you can't quite explain.!! By the end of the evening it felt less like a first act and more like the beginning of something steady. I walked away a little in awe... the way one does after a night that feels like it could have been written for the screen.

My husband & I came here during Dine LA and so many of the dishes were amazing! The tuna with crispy rice & pasta courses were fine, pretty standard. But the cauliflower was the stand out with a deliciously creamy texture and packed with flavor. We wanted to get the chocolate cake for dessert but it was already sold out for the night - must be delicious then lol. We couldn't agree on another dessert to share so we ended up getting both the red velvet & the caramel cake. Fantastic, no notes! I've got a sweet tooth and those were the perfect way to end the meal.

Osa Rooftop feels VERY LA - a busy hotel rooftop restaurant that's clearly a favorite for people who work in the area and desperately need a drink after clocking out. Great views of the mountains and incredibly quick service. We came in at 7 and were out with some time to spare before our show started at the Playhouse at 8. The seasonal cocktails my girlfriend and I had weren't the best -- I had the spritz which was a tad too tart for my liking and my friend got the beet cocktail and then complained that it was too earthy. Not the restaurant's fault because HELLO it is made with beet what did you expect? The steak frites were pretty great, my only note is that it sat in a bit too much olive oil on the plate and made some of the frites taste regrettably oily. Perfectly cooked piece of meat though. The burger looked really good too. This big group of big men had the table behind us and were standing the whole time like Neanderthals! They were just taking up space and a waiter broke a glass because they were very much in the way. Again not the restaurants fault but if you were in that group of men SIT DOWN!

Great spot! Off Colorado on the 6th floor of the Marriott Hotel For the record, no happy hour here. Despite yelps search methods - NO happy hour. With that said, great date spot or friend hangout spot. There is the bar area and the seated area. Bar area has windows and seating area has open air seating The cheeseburger was great. Don't mind the presentation lol Bartenders were nice and welcoming Drinks are pricey but seems like a standard hotel bar drink

This is the perfect spot for drinks with your girls. We were on the hunt for a casual rooftop bar, and I'm so glad we ended up here. The place is absolutely dreamy. It's located on top of a hotel with the prettiest outdoor seating. The bar overlooks the mountains, and the view alone is gorgeous and perfect! As for the drinks... we did not plan on sitting there for hours but they were that good. We ordered the Beet Margarita, Cali Spritz, and our favorite, Swift Relief. It was perfectly citrusy and sweet... so good we each had three. The bartenders were so friendly, gave great recommendations, kept our waters filled, and even took photos for us. Definitely coming back with my girls to try the food next time!

I say this in explicit detail do not visit this want to be Bacari restaurant. I got the swordfish and I feel like I bit in to the front seat of a Honda Civic. It was so dry. It was my birthday. The host did not know how to seat people over 6 foot and placed me and my date in a tiny two top that was crammed. We ordered half the menu and everything was beneath mediocre. Awful attitudes and energy partnered with poorly done premium plates means your restaurant will fail. What a waste of a hotel rooftop I'm happier at a taco dollar in LA. I own a Michelin star company.

I made my first visit to Osa Rooftop on Valentine's Day, and honestly... I was really impressed. They had a prix fixe menu, and in my experience, that's not always the best way to understand what a restaurant can really do. But this one totally worked. First off: the views are amazing. How have I lived here all these years and never noticed that green lookout on top of the building across the street?! I never would've seen it without this view, and now I can't unsee it. The waitstaff was friendly, kind, and genuinely helpful -- especially appreciated since I have some kind of lifelong curse where I spill things on light-colored shirts at important moments. Thank you for the soda water offer before I could even possibly ask . The curated menu for the night was spot on. Almost everything was excellent and cooked perfectly. The only thing we didn't love was the vinegar-heavy marinade on the oysters -- a little too sour for us. And honestly, when I saw someone at a nearby table make that face after trying one, I knew I wasn't alone. But aside from that? The steak, the fish, the pasta, the tuna tartare, the artichokes -- yum, yum, yum. We were blown away and pleasantly surprised. We skipped the Valentine's Day cocktails and went straight for dirty martinis to really see what they could do. They were great... so great that we ordered seconds. And at $12 each for a rooftop bar? Yes, please. Overall, such a great experience. Beautiful views, great food, lovely staff, and solid drinks. We'll definitely be back.

Ask the Community - Osa Rooftop

Is Osa going to have a special menu or event for Valentines Day 2026?

I would call and ask or go to their website

    Are kids allowed?

They are but there's no special kid menu or anything.

Do I need to make reservation?

    It's suggested. I definitely would.

What is the dress code like?

Casual but doesn't hurt to dress nice ;)

    Is there Vegan options?

    Yes.

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes, It is outside but while I was there there was a lady with the dog in her lap.

Is it okay to smoke cigars?

No. Pasadena has strict no smoking laws

When we walked in, there was a tall, bald male bartender and a blonde female bartender working--neither of whom I've seen here before. We ordered two drinks, but the service from the male bartender was inattentive from the start. At one point, my friend tried to get someone's attention to ask for a lime and wasn't acknowledged. She ended up grabbing a lime herself from the garnish tray--which I understand isn't ideal--but the response we got was completely out of line. The male bartender became immediately hostile and started aggressively cursing at my friend. When I calmly asked the female bartender if this was normal behavior, he inserted himself into the conversation and said, "she put her fucking hand in the fucking jar," in a very confrontational tone. I tried to de-escalate the situation and respectfully explained that there was no reason to speak to us that way, but he continued the hostility and ultimately told us to "get the fuck out." At that point, I paid for our drinks and we left. What made this especially disappointing is that this has never been our experience here before. We've always enjoyed this bar and have had positive interactions with the regular staff. If this had been my first visit, I would not come back. I understand that what my friend did wasn't appropriate, but it absolutely did not justify being yelled at and cursed out. I hope management addresses this, because this kind of behavior is not reflective of the bar I've come to know.

We ended up staying until about 9:30 p.m. and never felt rushed or pressured to order more. Waiter Manuel. This…read moreis a review reflected on you, solely. Being kind is the moral of the story, from the beginning you were passive agressive with your comments and tone. Being in a party of 4 girls coming from high tea, we were dressed in elegant dresses, first comment was asking if we were coming from church, followed by eye flutters, short "okay" with an upward inflation to a joke about the day, an impatient comment about hurrying up and trying the wine while we were talking, asked for water when we were out, were left to pour the rest of our wine, didn't ask how the food was all the while was attentive to the table behind us, the cherry on top comment was when we were discussing the bill at the end, he was hovering at the table behind ours, then when we were ready, we asked to split the bill into 2, my portion on mine and the rest on another card, he then said "this isn't like a drive through, we can't do it that way" so I asked him to explain his comment, cause it was passive agressive and rude. After he wasnt able to becuase he wasnt expecting me to call out his rude comment, I had to then break it down and specify what I had ordered, he then sold "okayyyy....so how much, cause we don't itemize?" I had to again express for him to specify how they do it cause he has still yet to explain where his attitude is coming from and explain how they do their check splits, from my understanding it just felt like he wanted to play dumb and make me to the math, one I did he was like "ohh, okay" should have asked for the manager but we paid and left, I hasnt had this experience before being a returning customer, but he needs an attitude adjustment as his attitude was completely out of pocket. Do better Manuel, you alone got your place of work a 1 star. The rest of the staff was kind, facility beautiful and food and wine was good. This restaurant is not reflected in the 1 star.

This bar is tucked inside Vroman's Bookstore (already one of the most charming and iconic bookstores in the area) so the entire experience feels like stepping into a warm, literary universe. You can browse for a new book, take in the bookstore's atmosphere, and then walk straight into the bar. Honestly, it's the perfect outing. What makes 1894 truly special is how intentionally it celebrates literature. Everything in the bar pays homage to the bookstore. The drink menu is full of clever, book-inspired names. You'll find cocktails like Pride and PearJudice Pride, Fifty Shades of Earl Grey, and other fun literary twists. Every drink feels like a little wink to readers, writers, and book lovers, and it adds such a unique charm to the experience. The vibe is super quaint and warm, dim lighting, and a creative atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. The wine is on the pricier side ($19-$21 per glass), but the quality delivers. Customer service was excellent. One of the bartenders spent time chatting with us. He pointed out a chalk artwork behind the bar a dramatic portrait he drew himself featuring expressive, literary-style faces, like Edgar Allan Poe, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, etc. It fits perfectly with the creative, bookish aesthetic of the bar. If you're into books, wine, and unique experiences, 1894 is a spot you absolutely can't miss. Perfect for a date, a solo unwind-with-a-book moment, or a fun night with friends who appreciate a good story and a great drink.

We made a later reservation and would have stayed longer but didn't know just how much of an experience it would be. Vibes here are dark and moody, and it would be a great place for a unique date, just maybe not the first one. We got the beef tartare and spicy tuna crispy rice to munch on. The spicy tuna crispy rice was worth it, the beef tartare not so much. Also decided to do the drink omakase because they make the single drink prices so expensive it still feels more worth it to do the omakase so you end up getting that instead. You tell the server what you do and don't like or are looking for in your drinks and the bartenders will make them for you. Some might be already on the menu, some may not. If there is something you really don't like and you tell the servers, they will be kind enough to replace it for you with something you do. Overall they did a good job with making mine but didn't quite hit it for my friend. The omakase is at least 3 drinks, so be prepared to have transportation after, you may be a little drunk Overall would come back or bring other people here just for the unique experience, but it is pricier than just grabbing a cocktail at a normal bar.

There's also a cool little speakeasy in the basement. At the entrance you'll find a display case filled with Dodgers bobbleheads. They have an extensive beer list (about 20 on draft), specialty cocktails, and free freshly popped popcorn to snack on. The walls are lined with sports memorabilia and there's a juke box for entertainment between games. I had many fun nights here when I was younger. My friend and I were in the area and stopped in for a drink. Tony was behind the bar and he was an absolute doll. He's one of those friendly neighborhood bartenders that you would reveal your deepest secrets to. My friend had a beer and since it was Cinco de Mayo, I ordered a margarita with Tromba Tequila. It was tasty. My friend and I munched on popcorn while watching the Dodgers game. It was a relaxing evening and a reminder that I should visit the 35er again soon. *Adjacent parking garage (90 mins free) or metered street parking.

Cause the music here is kinda whatever, or at least random lol. There are pool tables in the back, which I saw was $2 per play. Overall, not bad. We also went on a Tuesday night so there were barely any people.
