Sunday brunch with friend at this cute rooftop restaurant. The patio is small but with gorgeous view of the Pasadena mountains. We were impressed with the food quality. We ordered burrata salad, tuna tartare, grilled swordfish and the strawberry cheesecake. They were all super delicious! Our waitress is very friendly and attentive but the other waiter took the umbrella from our table left us fully exposed under the sun without even asked us if that's ok with us. When we asked the receptionist for the help, she gave us the attitude, told us the guests from the other table requested the umbrella and they don't have more umbrella for our table. The whole situation just showed unprofessional management and the poor customer service. Valet parking is inside a little ally on the Madison street and it's a bit hard to find. read more

I will start by commending them on a great location for a rooftop bar in Pasadena. Wonderful views! Everything else unfortunately lackluster with the exception of the crispy Brussel sprouts, those were delicious. I ordered the steak and frites, which was pretty underwhelming in taste. Couldn't taste any flavor of the steak itself, and it tasted more so like the grill (if that makes sense), so I wonder if that's mainly attributed to the cut and type of meat they have in house. The service, by far the most underwhelming. By all means they're friendly! However it took some time to get waited on/get waters/drinks/food order. And after we got all that, we didn't get checked in on regularly, maybe one time if memory serves me correctly. I would've loved to have another drink (which was decent) but I never got asked and I didn't want to bother the staff. Over all I'd say 6.5-7/10 on my experience. I don't usually review restaurants so (to me) this says a lot haha. Also on the way out, it would've been nice if the staff had wished us good bye or offered gratitude for visiting, instead it felt like we committed an Irish goodbye/exit without intending to. The food is AMAZING and the service is top tier. I went two days in a row. The first night, Jordan was our server, he was so on top of everything and his personality was extremely charismatic. As for my meal, I had the Brussels as a shareable and the Chard Chicken tacos, both items were so good I couldn't stop eating...I really wanted too, because I wanted dessert. Since I was pleasantly satisfied with my meal and service Friday night, went back Saturday night, to celebrate our Anniversary. On Saturday I had the Steak Frites (I subbed the Frites for Brussels). The Steak was nice and juicy and the brussel hit the spot again. This time I left room for dessert and had the mouth watering Chocolate Mousse cake. The combination of cake and moose with chocolate drizzle, was chef's kiss good. When it comes to the ambiance, for it to be a rooftop bar, the temperature was absolutely perfect. I'm always worried about being too cold, but luckily it's been pretty hot in Pasadena. It was a romantic candle light dinner experience. The vibe / decor / layout was perfectly designed, and the views of City Hall and the hills are breathtaking. You get to appreciate Pasadena in a completely different way. The food was delicious...! We had the burger and it was seriously so, so good! Same with the starters and the drinks they recommended (we got mezcal cocktails). My daughter absolutely loved the fresh lemonade and the warm artichoke dip (we almost ordered a second!). Had a reservation for Saturday afternoon. While the restaurant wasn't busy, it still took about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us or took our order. It was another 20 minutes before our drinks and appetizer arrived, and no one checked in on us during the meal. I wanted to order another Berry Root but couldn't flag anyone down. The space itself is lovely -- great decor, plenty of natural light, and beautiful views. But unfortunately, the service just didn't live up to the setting. Food-wise, it was okay. Came here for dinner on a semi-cloudy day and the view was still gorgeous. They made us wait ~10-15 minutes even though we had a reservation. The ambiance is pretty cool, it's a very outdoor and open space with an elevated, modern energy. It would be nice if they had a host downstairs to greet you since you just wander down this hallway until you get to the elevator at the back of the building. There is a pretty very view of Pasadena city hall and we were able to watch flocks of Pasadena parrots fly around. Drinks were good, but the food menu was very small. It felt oddly limited, so hoping they expand it. The appetizers of Brussel sprouts, charcuterie board, and tostones. They were all delicious. Our entree, the steak was pretty mediocre and fully cooked through despite asking for medium well. The first thing you notice is the outstanding view, followed by the beautiful presentation of every dish. The ambience is spectacular: elegant without being pretentious, warm without being noisy, and designed to make you want to linger. The menu is full of unusual yet creative Cuban-influenced and Asian-inspired dishes that feel fresh and exciting. We enjoyed the tostones with guacamole and black bean--crisp, flavorful, and wonderfully balanced. The salmon crudo was excellent, bright, and delicate. The olive stuffed with spicy cream cheese was a fun and surprising bite, and the classic Vesper cocktail was absolutely on point. After dinner, the manager, Vincent, stopped by. He was deeply attentive, receptive to compliments as well as small suggestions, and genuinely committed to making sure every detail was right. With the restaurant being only four months old, it's understandable that a few systems are still finding their rhythm--but with leadership like his, it's easy to see this place becoming a standout destination. I come here pretty often and I have always enjoyed the atmosphere. During the summer you have a nice view of downtown Pasadena, great cocktails and the food is delicious. The manager was very personable; he introduced himself before and made light conversation on his endeavors to make OSA the best rooftop experience in Pasadena. We did get a complimentary dessert and that was delightful-many restaurants don't do this very often unless they royally made a mistake. My experience at OSA Rooftop was so upsetting that I feel I need to share it. During what was supposed to be a special evening out with my boyfriend and his parents, our server's behavior completely ruined the night and ultimately hurt my relationship. The server openly flirted with my boyfriend in front of me and his family, even going so far as to try to give him his personal phone number and Instagram handle. It was incredibly inappropriate and disrespectful. To make matters worse, he deliberately spoke to me in Spanish, knowing I don't speak the language, and made mocking comments--including calling me "hangry" when our food took over an hour to arrive. This name calling occurred more than once and when confronted, the waiter said that's how he "jokes with people." It is not my intention as a customer of a restaurant to be insulted by someone I've never met, let alone restaurant staff. Instead of professionalism, we were met with rudeness and behavior that crossed the line. This experience left me embarrassed, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. A night that should have been fun and memorable turned into something I'll never forget for the wrong reasons. OSA Rooftop may have a nice setting, but no atmosphere can make up for staff who treat guests this way. I hope management takes this seriously so no one else has to go through what I did. read more

The ambience is great especially if you are there for a date. Food was alright. Drinks are more expensive than food. Service was horrible! They're non-attentive at all. Some of them seem like they hate their job. We ordered steak and it took about 45 mins to come out. No waiter came out to check on us. We saw someone walked by from the kitchen and asked about our food. She stated because our steaks were MEDIUM WELL DONE THAT'S WHY IT TAKES SO LONG TO MAKE. Yeah right just be honest and say you FORGOT OUR MEALS!! Not to mention she had a nasty attitude when I asked too. Right after that interaction, some guy brought our food out. The steak was cold!!! Came here with a group of friends after hearing that Pasadena has a new rooftop bar restaurant. From pictures, it seemed promising with great atmosphere and a nice view of Pasadena. We were all excited to check it out! I'm not sure if it was because this place is fairly new, but this restaurant definitely needs a lot more improvements. Menus were given to us upon being seated and the first thing we all noticed was that every single menu did not have the same exact number of pages. Some menus had the full menu including food and cocktails, while some had missing pages and there was even one that was completely blank inside! Not to mention, there were some typos. I wanted to have a glass of Rose wine and saw that the two different ones offered had the same exact description. I decided to ask the waiter, inquiring the difference between the two wines. Instead of providing an answer that was somewhat reasonable, the waiter read the menu, and just said that each of the Rose was just from a different region of California, which was obviously already written on the menu. It's alright if he didn't know the different tasting notes of the wines. I didn't expect him to know every single drink on the menu, however, he could've been more professional about it and maybe offer to ask the bartender or someone who is more well versed rather than giving me an excuse saying "honestly, we just opened and I just started working here". Waters weren't poured out for all of us consistently, and all our drinks came out at different times. He took our drink order but messed up who ordered what and seemed like he just randomly guessedwho ordered what by putting it down in front of us. Overall it took 20+ minutes for all our drinks to come out. What was even worse was that my friend ordered a white wine and tell me why our waiter didn't tell us that they were out of all white wines until 15 minutes later, when all of our drinks came out. Her new drink order was even forgotten until we had to check in with the waiter AGAIN when our food came out. Food was alright overall. We got the steak and frites and tuna tartar. Overpriced priced for the quality of food and honestly, after waiting so long for everything to come out and our waiters lack of attention, we simply weren't in the mood to enjoy the rest of our time here. All in all, there needs to be major improvements to be made and better organization management across staff and inventory checks. I'm all for hiring new staff and can understand this is a new place, but please train your staff so they maybe they can give better responses to the guests. "We just opened and I'm new here" just doesn't cut it. Also they really lack the attention to guests and the entirety of what is being served at this restaurant. It'll also help if the menus can be proofread and reprinted so that all menus are exactly the same, especially if they are all going to be nicely put in a leather printed menu cover. Although the aesthetic was there, the detail and quality service was very, very lacking. We probably won't be back for a while until maybe things have changed up a bit. read more

OSA rooftop is such a hidden gem in Pasadena! tucked away next to urth cafe on the rooftop of the AC hotel -- the views are absolutely breathtaking, the space is so romantic and beautiful. I came here to celebrate my friend and I's birthday and we ordered the Swift Relief and my friend ordered a mocktail the beetroot and they were both so refreshing, flavorful, & delicious. we were super cold due to the nature of the restaurant being on a rooftop with high winds but our kind server moved a heating lamp near us and gave us blankets! we ordered the King Salmon Crudo, OSA burger, and Steak Frites. The king salmon crudo was so fresh, flavorful and delicious! The perfect light appetizer. I had the steak frites and the steak was perfectly cooked and the fries were delicious! My friend loved her burger as well. The movie projector above made the vibe so romantic, amazingvibey, and fun! Definitely the perfect spot for a date night or a dinner with friends or family. Ambiance and service was great. Our first time dining there and we decided to do Dine L.A. which was $65 person plus the cost of drinks and a 20% service charge automatically added to our bill. We expected the food to be superb but it was far from. For the main course we had lamb chops and steak. I ordered the steak Medium Rare. The steak came out pre cut and was drenched with a sauce. It was so salty. A good steak doesn't need thay much seasoning. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. I had my friends try it and they agreed it was too salty. The lamb chop some pieces was good and some was super salty as well. For the price we paid, we expected that chef can cook the main course correctly. The cauliflower was bland and wasn't crunchy enough. The yellow tail crudo was super yummy. The pasta yummy too, but temperature of the pasta was cold. The plate if the pasta was heated, pasta was unfortunately cold. The spicy tuna tartar was a little bland too. Unless they can get the main course cooked right, we wont be coming back. The food and service at OSA was excellent! We came in with a 8:00 reservation and were sat right as we walked in. Ambiance was nice, the place was packed and very lively. All of the food was amazing but the steak could use a little more work in my opinion. The drinks were fantastic and the vibes overall were very pleasant. The one thing I could say is that the menus were torn up and the pages were falling out of the booklet, our waitress went to bring another one but brought back what seemed like the same loose menu. Those menus need to be fixed as soon as possible as it kind of throws off the first impression. But all things considered I will def be back for another visit! read more
