The service was great. Our waitress was attentive and polite. The butter and bread were plentiful. I ended up finishing the whole rack of ribs. The meat was super tender. It was to the point where the meat would fall off of the bone. I didn't find anything too noteworthy about the sauce, however. The broccoli was cooked perfectly but the fries could be crispier! Placed on online order, show up it's going to be 10 more minutes, 20 minutes later and they're now saying they're too busy for online orders and it's going to be....... Until they even start it. I asked for a refund then I'm told they can't refund my money in the restaurant they have to sent an email to corporate. We have had just terrible luck getting decent prime rib lately. We thought we would give the roadhouse a try and we were pleasantly surprised. We like the steak cooked medium rare and that is really hard for a lot of restaurants to give us. Roadhouse did it perfectly. Really enjoyed all of the sides and the delicious dinner rolls. We had the spiked lemonade flight in the cute little mason jar glasses, and it was delicious. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is the service was slow and it just looked rundown. I think it may need to be a little bit updated or replace the junkie menus. We will definitely be back regardless of the ambience. They sure know how to cook a good steak there. read more

I just wanted to have a good steak and decided to try out this place. We went there for dinner during a week night and the lot was already full of cars. We were seated right away. And bread came right after. The bread looked really good, but I didn't have any due to eating low carb at the moment. It was a bit dark in there but I was fine with that. Lots of wood surrounded the place. Good sized place with a lot of seating. Our waited was super nice, checked on us often, and answered all of our questions. There was a lot to choose from the menu but I ended up going with tri-tip, steak with deep fried garlic green beans and coleslaw. It was all really good. Them deep fried green beans were so good. And they were not shy with the garlic. The meat was delish and full of flavor. While the coleslaw was pretty mild, it was a refreshing end to my dinner. I left there full and satisfied. In the museum of terrible food, Roadhouse is the Mona Lisa. While I attempted to voice my extreme displeasure with this "eatery" but, their customer service and general care is just as terrible as what they consider food hence, this review. First, the delivery order was wrong. Okay, maybe a simple mistake that items were missing but, that was just the tip of the iceberg of what was to be one of the absolute worst meals I've ever had the displeasure of having. How one jumps from medium rare to charcoal when cooking steak should be studied. Truly a world class acrobatic act of culinary buffoonery. Luckily for me, the $12 add on to my Caesar Salad resulted in 4 miniscule pieces of what amounted to basic shoe leather I had to try and muscle through. What a wonderful workout for my jaw muscles. Bravo! But, I did get a full head of wilted lettuce and a vat of dressing to make the meal all that more abhorrent. Oh, and their croutons must be on the Save the Planet list as they were clearly made from recycled cardboard boxes. Good on you Roadhouse for saving the whales while you dish out slop on par with low grade dog food. My wife had the filet and again, this should be studied. Was this beef? This place must be owned by a dentist since the filet nearly crunched when being chewed and is clearly filling the coffers of said dentist with throngs of chipped teeth, loose fillings, and full implants. How is a filet this tough? Filet of football is my random speculation after contemplating the origin of this mystery meat. The bacon wrap must have been measured to some sort of larger type of thread. So thin that you almost needed the James Webb telescope to reveal its very existence. To be fair, the sweet potato was decent and could be proudly served at such reputable establishments like Elmer's, Denny's, Black Bear, and the like. Those eateries are what they are but, a "steakhouse" that charges as much as Roadhouse should be doing much, much better. In closing, have your insurance card at the ready and say 5 Hail Mary's if you still decide to drag yourself in. Getting a roundhouse kick from Patrick Swayze or stitched up sans any anesthesia after a sweaty 10 on 1 gritty bar fight would likely rank higher on the enjoyment scale than suffering through another meal at The Roadhouse. read more

Called ahead to let them know we had a party of nine for a Sunday afternoon, they said no problem, it won't be busy. Arrived and had to wait almost twenty minutes to be seated. There were two booths occupied and every single table was empty. The food was not good, the ribeye was thin and tasted like propane, no flavor at all. The only people they liked their food were the one that ordered ribs. Filet mignon was burnt, the nine oz sirloins were dry and in no way nine ounces. The tables were sticky, the server had to be called over for refills, and the rolls were never refilled. Not what hoped to get for a $268 meal. I have never posted on here, but the experience was so sub-par that I had to let others know. No idea why it has gotten so bad, but they are screaming to go out of business. read more

Roadhouse grill has been a part of Gresham since the early 90s. Not to be confused with, 'Texas Roadhouse', this is the only one of its kind. Located off Burnside in a pretty busy traffic area, the parking lot is relatively big, but when it's full, you know it's packed. I've had different experiences each time and never know what we'll get. Some good, some bad.. they did get a revamp a few years back which helps with their appearance, the prices though, are a little steep. We haven't been in awhile, and everything was just ok. The main reason why we craved Roadhouse was for their delicious complimentary rolls. With (honey) butter. Comes super warm and melts in your mouth. And actually, Roadhouse was known for broken peanuts everywhere, like alllll over the floor. Yep, you get a bowl full of peanuts to snack on, and y'all just threw the broken shells on the ground. Imagine the floor covered in peanut shells x 100, and the crunch stepping on them (haha). After our recent visit, we didn't notice the mess, so I think they aren't doing that anymore. What a great (messy) tradition that the workers are probably very happy ended. Service was great, attentive and our main server was friendly. Our steak was a little over cooked, but good, I had the shrimp and it was pretty good, too. I feel like the sides is what pushes the bill over. I got one of their bootleg drinks and it was pretty delicious, but it tasted like a different drink on the menu, still got the job done. I think Roadhouse is a restaurant you can 'experience' once in awhile. They have a pretty good selection of barbecued (and non) items that everyone can try. read more

I took my GF here on a Tuesday evening at around 5pm. The place was not busy at all and after being seated with no wait time we sat with no drinks for over 20 minutes and we decided to leave. No one even came to our table. The waitress went to one table and then just disappeared. There were two other tables around us with no drinks and menus on the edge of the tables as ours were. The atmosphere was terrible. The customer service was non existent. I am not sure what the food is like because we never had a chance to even talk to anyone before we had had enough. Good bbq. Not great but will check the box. Today I had the St. Louis style ribs, sliced tri tip and baked sweet potato. My wife had the rib eye and broccoli. We also ordered the Texas egg roll appetizer. The tri tip was cooked perfectly. Very tender. The ribs were overcooked. They we fall off the bone but there was no structure left to the ribs. You had to use a fork and eat them like pulled pork. Also no flavor to the sauce or rib meat. The baked sweet potato and coleslaw were delicious. My wife's ribeye was over cooked as well. She ordered medium and it was very much well. Parts were even heavily charred. I would still return because it was good enough. Just nothing to write home about. Really not the steak house that I remember from years ago. I ordered the skewered shrimp and " burnt ends sausage " the 6 shrimp were about the size of a quarter each . And the sasausage was a hot link cut down the center and torched. Wife ordered a medium rare steak and got a well done steak . The peanuts on the floor ambience was gone . The "Roadhouse Rewards" is a scam. They say you get a 10.00 welcome bonus on tents at the table and a big board in the front of the restaurant. I inquired how to use it and was informed we couldn't use it until the next visit, which I would have been fine with if it said it ANYWHERE on their literature. Justin the GM said we just don't give you 10 dollars to come in and eat, it is on your next visit. I pointed out that nowhere in the fine print did it say it wasn't good until the next visit. So in essence, they lure you in to their "rewards" club under blatantly false pretenses. The food was wonderful, and the waitress was great. I just feel I was mislead. First things first. Salads were excellent, with lots of dressing and were accompanied with rolls and honey butter. Just finishing our salads when the main course arrived. Aron said his ribeye was huge but just so so for flavor. Loaded baked potato was perfect. Val and I both had filet cooked rare, unfortunately they were both a little over cooked. Both were average for flavor, just expected more ! My baked potato came with only sour cream, I have no idea why there was no butter??? Val's steak came with French fried sweet potatoes and they were excellent. Service was spot on. Restaurant was clean, and about average for noise. Had steak all three visits now. The meat quality just isn't there. They were cooked about as well as could be expected, but the quality is so poor that their steaks are almost inedible. Can't fault the kitchen staff. They're doing the best they can with what they have to work with. I would like to think that there are possible some other items on the menu that I might like to eat, but this place purports to be a steakhouse, so I have a certain expectation. We have given up on The Roadhouse Grill. Others may be OK with this quality of food, but at these prices, I'm going to require a piece of meat that I can actually chew. Ambience is decent. Appetizers arrived, with salads arriving about four minutes later. Food arrived another two minutes after that. Not enough time to eat either appetizers or salad. The tri tip is advertised as slow roasted overnight." Mine was ordered medium, and I was surprised to get a cool, very rare, dry chunk of meat with a leathery exterior that withstood efforts to stab it with a fork. It was nearly impossible to cut with a knife. I was able to get four bites out of it before giving up. Every other smoked tri tip I have ever had was tender, nicely marbled, and delicious. This? Inedible. The garlic mashed potatoes were cold and dry. The server never returned to the table, so it was pushed to the side. At least I was able to eat the salad and potato skins. The rest was left at the table. This marks the single worst of a series of unimpressive visits here. Usually it's unremarkable in flavor and service, but my wife likes the rolls. Even she was disappointed in the quality this time. At least the burgers have been ok in the past. Tonight's meal was just terrible. read more

This is one worn out restaurant We ate lunch and ordered hamburgers and sweet potatoes. The potatoes were not hot and seemed warmed up from the night before and so were the hamburger patties. Dry and lukewarm not hot off the grill. Not my first time here, but may be my last. Used napkin on seat when brought to table. Was not removed (until I flicked it to the floor). Ive ordered the steak salad when I've come several times before. First off..salad has gotten much smaller while the price is almost 19.00!! I always ask for the vinaigrette to be removed. It was not. This is the second time in a row this has happened. I brought this to the servers attention and she said she "made sure" they didnt.. sitting by the kitchen..she didn't watch. What server does? Clearly there was vinaigrette tossed with salad as a lite brown oily liquid was pooled at the bottom of my plate when I moved the salad to the side. Server said it might be a seasoning on the steak. Okay..offend my sense of taste now. As for the steak on my salad. OVERCOOKED, TOUGH and flavorless. Ate less than half of the steak. Suffered through the puckery salad part since apparently having it remade wasn't even an option. I Left what was left on the plate for waitress to take. I mentioned the steak. She said she would have the kitchen look at it. Next thing you know..server was back asked if we want desert (no) then here is the check. Steak salad on there. To be clear, I wasn't trying to get anything comped or free BUT a remake of what I wanted (and expected from other times) and PAID FOR would have been nice. I was in the service industry for MANY years. I understand the front and back of the house (restraunts). This was VERY much a disappointment in customer concerns. Finding ourselves in the area we decided to take the Original Roadhouse for a test drive over lunch. We were met by Craven who also served as our waiter. We found him energetic and unabashed at giving his opinion as to what he'd recommend (or not) based on what he liked. The restaurant is big although sectioned off as best we could tell. We clearly missed the crowds having gotten there around 1400. That said, Craven offered us a table of our choice in the bar area. As one would expect, the menu has an emphasis on meat and we weren't going to argue. My wife chose a ribeye which came with two sides. She decided on coleslaw and fries. Although she was asked how she wanted her steak - medium rare - it came out a solid medium. Despite that misstep it was pretty tasty. The fries are frozen but reasonably good as well. The coleslaw was bland in my opinion. My wife was more favorably impressed. I ordered the ribeye sandwich which came with fries. The sandwich is served on a soft bun so it came apart before I got it done so although it was good, it was also messy. We weren't overly impressed but I can't say it was a bad experience. Punitive deficits include items being overpriced. My wife's steak was $27.99 and my sandwich was a whopping $17.99. Had the portions been larger (I'm looking at you, fries) and the steak prepared as ordered, I'd feel better about the pricing. Also, at $2.99 each, I'd have expected to be offered refills on our iced tea. We were not. They do offer peanuts in the shell at the tables and soft rolls with whipped butter to start (which are delish). Happily, they take Apple Pay at the table, and I really liked that. All done and said, this would be a 3 1/2 star review so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and scoring the Original Roadhouse Grill 4 stars.
