My friends and I went there to celebrate a birthday party. I had drove by this little place in downtown Gresham often and wanted to check it out, especially after seeing those menu. The birthday girl and I ordered the chefs special which was picanha with chimmichuri, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. This dish was delicious, rich, and filing. That cut of meat and how it was prepared was fantastic and melted in your mouth. One of my friends ordered the New York steak, no potatoes and extra veggies and the other two ordered the asada plate that came with beans, rice and tortillas. They all really liked their dishes. We also shared the ceviche with shrimp, mahi and octopus. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. Some places over cook the octopus, making it tough but not this place, the octopus was so tender. The chips that came with it were thick, salty and crunchy, great for scooping up the ceviche. I'm glad this place opened up in Gresham, we need more nice restaurants out here. This was our first time eating here and it exceeded my expectations. I'm pescatarian so my husband saw that they had several seafood options and I chose the mahi mahi fish and chips with coleslaw. We stopped here after flying into PDX. The pictures and reviews looked great, so we decided to stop in. My son asked for chips and guac to start, and they mentioned they do not have guac. I was shocked, since the entire place is Mexican food. I asked if they had avocados, lime, cilantro, onion, etc., which they said they did. They actually charged me by the item and brought it on a plate for me so I could make guac for my son. The food was sub-standard. The waitress was probably annoyed with my request, so I did get some unfriendly glances and we did not get the best service. My drink was entirely watered down, and did not taste like an adult drink at all. But had the full price tag. It just made it a rough evening, when it could have been smoother. My man got the fish, and it seemed overcooked and not fresh. Given the amount of other restaurants around, I would say you would have better chances elsewhere. read more

Yelper you have let me down. We went to go check out this place since it had such great reviews. When we got there we thought it was closed because it was basically empty. The restaurant was very clean. The entrees are pretty expensive. There was a mix of American food and Mexican food. The Mexican food was not good at all. The chicken sandwich was not that bad. Since my first 5-star review, I've really enjoyed Elixir Mezcaleria and am so glad they are in Gresham. Unfortunately, after their recent menu update, I need to remove a star. They previously had a well-highlighted section of the menu with vegetarian options -- including a stuffed poblano with the most amazing potatoes. The new menu is missing options for vegetarians (though there are a few seafood/fish options such as fish or shrimp tacos, which are solid). I still would recommend this, but just can't go for that 5th star until they iterate on the menu to provide some vegetarian options again. read more

Both the pork belly hash and the chilaquiles entries were good enough that I am pretty sure they should be illegal, give what I can only describe as an extextremely l addictive taste and texture... pure breakfast heaven!! This was our first time at Elixir Mezcaleria and it was fantastic! I wish we had come by sooner. We will definitely be back. The other half and I didn't care too much for the Mezcal Margarita, as it was a bit too smoky flavored and we were expecting a more traditional margarita flavor. We were given a heads up though when we ordered them. However, I ordered a second round of their traditional margaritas and they were delish! Our food was fantastic and the dessert was something new and interesting. Can't wait for our next visit since there's more on the menu we want to try. Yum! read more

Quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in downtown Gresham. Just remember to come a little early or a little late as it is a small space. Ever go to a restaurant, eat top notch food, only to return and not be able to replicate the experience leading to disappointment? Not here. The consistency matches the quality. Great lunch burgers and sandwiches, perfect fries (get the Chipotle aioli on the side for the fries), clean salads and tasty soups. The ribeye for dinner is absolutely phenomenal, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My wife and I split the ribeye along with the mussels and couldn't get enough. The floors look filthy. If you ask for pepsi or coke, they say they don't support them. I would have expected them to say, we only have RC. It seemed weird. When you get said RC, it has ants in it both living and dead. Makes you wonder how clean the kitchen really is. The service wasn't great either and the place wasn't busy. read more
