Chuy has perfected the SoCal flavors I've missed since moving away and have had a hard time finding in Oregon. The salsa bar is vast with every style you like as well as refreshing cucumbers and radish, your usual carrots and onions, but also freshly grilled peppers and onions! They go all out to make sure you have an all around great meal. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and during our last visit, we got to meet the legendary Chuy! This is the best Mexican food in Gresham. I've been going here since I was in high school so about 8 years now. Ordered for the first time on DoorDash and they plugged with extra sauce and even gave me a punch card with extra punches since they were out of a specific sauce (I ordered bear closing time) Amazing service. I feel like eight years ago when I gave this a four star review I just didn't have the appreciation for the consistency and overall quality of this place. This is our go to Spotify eat at any other place nearby. I feel like I'm cheating. Chuy and the family are the best. It is literally the place. My kids will choose to eat over something like junk food or fast food when I ask him what they wanna get when it's quick and easy. Does daily specials, even though they raised the price up a dollar every couple years it is still one of the best deals in town. Their Pastor is hands-down one of the best in town. Their dollar menu is nuts, mini bean and cheese burritos mini quesadillas old-school potato fried tacos... This place is open until midnight and you usually can't get this quality of food that late at night. When I discovered this place, I came back the same week to get another plate. The workers there are very chill and nice. My favorite thing about Don Ladis is the salsa bar they have in the center of the shop. Every salsa is delicious and I havent been able to figure out which one I like the most. The restaurant itself looks like a hole in the wall, but the restaurant is very clean and organized. Overall, the food is delicious. I've never been a big fan of beans, but the beans that come with the plate are amazing. I'm tempted to go back and order 20 bean and cheese burritos. They are cashiers are always very kind and have never gotten our order wrong. When you walk in you're faced with a colorful dining area and an island bar with quite the options of sauces and toppings. And the best part; it is always clean! As for my wife and I, when we dine in, we like to seat ourselves to the more secluded section of shop. usually, this place is pretty good, but I was super disappointed with the breakfast burrito I got this morning. It was a bacon breakfast burrito, I've got this before and had no issues. The burrito I got this morning probably had only one egg in the whole burrito. (And it was massive). The rest of it was simply potatoes and minimal amounts of bacon. I know eggs are extremely pricey right now, but if you raise the prices for your breakfast burritos, you should be still throwing in enough eggs. Don Pedro's packs the whole thing with Eggs and breakfast burritos are meant to be mainly eggs. I could've just eaten a whole potato and had a better breakfast. Do better read more

I placed an online order at 7:52 and delivery was expected to take between 30 and 50 minutes, so I was surprised when I went outside and found my food at my doorstep at 8:15. That's worth a star. The chili relleno I ordered was great. Large servings. Too many tortillas. The only negative was that the Chile Verde was, well, meh - almost no taste to it at all. This is the place we always come back to. It was our first taco shop in Gresham, and as others have opened and closed, the one we still go back to. It's incredibly hard to beat the breakfast burritos @$7. They're super flavorful and packed full. You can easily spend more for less in the area. Taco salad is excellent. Bean and cheese burrito, while not my favorite in town, is still really good and gigantic. I'm also a huge fan of their habanero garlic salsa. If I could order a 32oz cup of it, I would. Haven't been here in awhile. Decided to try a Sunday craving for Meneudo. Let me say it was amazing! The tripe was so clean and tender, the broth was so flavorful and the fresh herbs and onions and plenty of fresh lime wedges made it a complete wonderful Sunday meal. As close to San Diego Mexican food as we've gotten since moving here. I was trolling a foodie account on IG that posted Mexican food in Portland, and ended up getting DMed by Pip's Donuts some recommendations on spots to check out. Long story short, Pip's led me to the promised land. What reminds me of home: 1. Salsa Bar - variety of green and red salsas of varying heat, free pickled carrots. All the salsas are a bit thin, but they're all packed with flavor. 2. California Burritos - plenty of meat inside, no BS beans or rice, the tortilla is tender and doesn't taste like the shenanigans you get at a grocery store. 3. Carne Asada Fries - a rarity in the PNW (at least that are satisfying) with plenty of guacamole, sour cream and all the fixings I'm used to. 4. Cheap! We got a boatload of food for $20. We ate a late lunch and I didn't eat again until the next day at lunch. Although Gresham is a bit out of the way, and there's not much else that I'd go out there for, its definitely worth the trek. It was my partner's birthday and he didn't know I had invited a few people to stop by since it was a work night. I happened upon this place for delivery and was super excited when I saw that they have catering plates just on the menu. I was sold! 40 tacos plus beans and rice sounded perfect to me. Although I purchased chips and guac etc at the store they do offer these as well. I could choose 2 meats, which is better than one. This isn't actual catering, so I understood when there wasn't exactly even numbers of each that it was because they clearly had more meat than the other, but it was close enough to an even split. They're just your standard street tacos, which was exactly what I wanted, and they were delicious. They even had roasted hot peppers which some people enjoyed (very hot). The beans and rice actually could have been half the size. No one could believe how much there was, but we enjoyed them with chips as well. Unfortunately we could all only eat so much (or take it home) so some did go to waste. If you can mass produce and make this many people happy then I'm excited to try just a regular order for the two of us. So happy how this turned out. read more
