I had been to Orchids at least 5 times with wonderful service every time, I had been recommending them to all of my friends even. However, the last time I went in to remove my shellac manicure the man doing the service didn't have the correct solution to remove the polish. He ended soaking my fingers in a bowl of acetone for approximately 20 minutes until the shellac would come off. My nails are ruined, they are peeling and cracking, it's painful. He also filed so aggressively that he broke my skin twice with 0 apologies. It felt like I was burden the entire time. It was the worst manicure experience I've ever had and my nails have never been this damaged from shellac removal. Extremely disappointed. read more

Do not sleep on this salon. Uyen, the owner, is a gem. My husband and I visited for pedicures and absolutely savored everything minute. The trim and cleaning was detailed, the massage long and intentional, and the paint job meticulous. As they opened only two years ago (2020), they have struggled to build a steady clientele and are hoping to establish more consistent patrons. Love this place. It's a small nail salon on Brookside owned by the same Owner that owns Posh Nails, which is a little further North on Peoria. Orchid's focus is more on providing a quiet, relaxing, non noxious experience. There are only eight chairs so book in advance. They use all natural ingredients for their scrubs and non toxic nail polishes. Instead of the typical nail salon massage chairs they have the zero gravity chairs that heat up! Most services take a little longer than normal and I almost always end up napping , so plan for the time. I would not recommend taking small children but if your tween wants to have a spa experience then book a spot for them too. Though the prices are slightly higher than your average salon, it is well worth it. read more

Look, this salon seems amazing! Me and my mom went there to get our nails done, we wanted two full sets. I called at around 11, and set an appointment for 3pm. they had plenty of time to be ready. When we arrived, it was great customer service, got us all ready, and then the front desk lady goes "someone will be here soon" what???? we waited 20 minutes for ONE person to arrive, and he didnt even start my nails until 20 minutes AFTER that. We ended up leaving because that wouldve taken double the time we wanted. not going back to this place. read more
