Great experience with all professional staff. And, bar none, that's what you should want primarily at a health provider of any kind. I did go to another ora, on Randolph, for my night guard because what they provided here was a tray- not a true, heavy guard. The room for improvement- after 3+ years as a patient I haven't seen the same office staff twice and the customer service experience has reflected that. I had very poor experiences with being on the wait list, billing issues, appointments running over an hour late, and appointment confirmations coming for different dates from what was scheduled. So far, I have had only one appointment. But let me tell you just how awesome that one appointment was! Back story: I stopped going to a previous dentist because they no long took HMO. So I found one @ 122 S. Michigan Ave. Really great people. But I told them that the reason I was back at the dentist was to not only have healthy teeth, but mainly to get my teeth straightened. After fixating on this one tooth of mine (root canal, now they want to do some expensive minor surgery to make room for a cap on that one tooth and then pull out my wisdom teeth), I just got really irritated. I really just want my teeth straightened. And the way they keep having me come back is annoying. Just do what you have to do in a day so I can move on with my life already. So I took matters into my own hands and found a place that does Invisalign. That is when I happened upon Ora. So much closer to home too and free parking. It was already starting out to be awesome. When I got in I noticed how amazing and modern the place looked. I liked it. Even the private rooms had t.v.s on the chairs! Then my new orthodontist (Dr. Patel) came in the room and she was awesome. She saw how eager I was to get started on my Invisaline treatment and got me started right away. She even filled in a blue filling that my dentist put in to keep me coming back that day! They took the scans and pictures and I was out. Today I go back for them to tell me the time frame that Invisalign has set for me. The 1st set of trays should be in by next month. Unfortunately I can't switch to this location for my full dentist needs at this time because they accept PPO not HMO. But I'm really considering changing once my teeth are gorgeously straight. I never thought the highlight of my week would be a dentist visit, but this has made it the case. The lobby is modern and relaxing, complete with beverages while you wait. My husband actually willing to drive me just for sitting around in there drinking coffee. While you may wait for a standard doctor amount of time in one of the rooms, its not so bad- they have massage chairs and satellite tv. The receptions are nice and super helpful, they have even taken the time to explain my insurance to me in easily understandable terms and get into with my company. I have had quite extensive work done here, and the techs are all quite pleasant and gentle with the exception of the one guy. The dentist is quite nice and super gentle- like drilling for an hour without interrupting my tv watching with pain. read more

I cannot say enough about the outstanding experience I had at Ora Oral Surgery! Having my three impacted wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Koos was a breeze! I went into the experience extremely nervous. I had never been under general anesthesia, nor had any sort of invasive procedure, but Dr. Koos and his staff put me so at ease throughout the entire process. I have a difficult work schedule, so the fact that they even offer Saturday surgeries is amazing! They got me in immediately for my consult and the staff up front was great about calling me as soon as they had a cancellation to get me in on the exact date I needed! On the day of the surgery, I was comforted by the kind woman at the front desk and then by the sweet nurse who took me back to the operating room. The entire facility is state of the art and gorgeous, but this room, especially, felt so relaxing with the surround sound music and sunny windows on the ceiling. Next, the nurse let me choose an iPod playlist to play through the overhead speakers during the procedure! This doesn't sound like it would make much of a difference given the circumstances, but hearing Kenny Chesney while getting the laughing gas was just what I needed to get me in that relaxation state of mind! After putting on the mask and inhaling a few times, I can honestly say that I did not feel a thing!!!! Apparently, they put in an IV after I was asleep and I could not believe when the nurse woke me up, after what seemed to be a few minutes later, that it was all over with! Afterward, the nurse and Dr. Koos spoke with my family and gave them all the supplies and instructions I would need for the post care. They spent at least 20 minutes with us answering questions, etc. Then, Dr. Koos called me later that night to check in with me and told me to call his personal cell phone if I had any problems! I'm sorry, but being a healthcare worker myself, in today's day and age this is unheard of!!! They also have a free parking area which is right next to the door you come out after surgery, which is extremely convenient. I was also given three prescriptions to fill for pain and preventing infection. Oh and during surgery, you are given a steroid to minimize swelling. I had zero swelling and practically zero pain in the days after the procedure. I could not believe it! I can go on and on as to how phenomenal my experience was at Ora! I will be referring all my friends and family to them, without a doubt!!!! read more

I can't say enough about my experience at Ora Dental. The facility is beautiful- Clean- Modern- Quiet-State of the Art and comforting. The staff were all friendly without any pretension. It was simple making an appointment and having my insurance verified and billed. Also it is very convenient to park; there is an adjacent parking lot. I have been going my previous dentist for 30 years, since I was a kid, so I hated switching but HELLO it's 2014 and I always felt like I was in a 1970s time warp when I was there; yet I loved by old dentist and it was a difficult decision to leave him. So I had become pretty lax about going to the dentist but thankfully my teeth are in good shape and really needed a thorough cleaning. Ashley the dental hygienist is amazing. I've been going to Ora Dental in the South Loop for a couple years for my routine cleanings. Amazing dental hygienists and assistants. I got all four wisdom extracted back in November. Dr. Koos and his assistants put me at ease, played some Beyonce over the intercom and I was out like a light. My recovery was a bit a roller caster because I developed a dry socket (extremely painfully). But Dr. Koos gave me a call and proper instructions to help the healing process. He was very caring. I was able to come back and get the dry socket packed and instant relief. Love this dentist office!!! Another thing: I would like to thank the amazing ladies in the front counter, Leti, Tia and Ebony :). Initially, I was told that my estimated out-of-pocket expense would be $379 after my dental insurance but when I came in the day of the surgery, it was $579. I was a little upset but paid it. Leti and Tia suggested to run the surgery through my medical insurance and see if they would cover some it and see if I could be reimbursed. I never thought about that. In the end, my medical insurance covered a nice portion and I was fully reimbursed!!! All four wisdom teeth extracted for FREE basically. Now, how many people can say that? Thanks ladies! read more

Nobody loves the dentist...dentist need love too! LOL. Unfortunately I have had a lot of dental work in my life and have been to many different dentists. The people here are very knowledgable, honest and professional. Add that to a nicely appointed office with very modern equipment at a reasonable price and you have a winner. The optional text message appointment reminders are fantastic! This is also a green office which is a very nice bonus. Very high on my priority when looking for a dentist is honesty. Nobody wants dental work and expenses that are not needed. I recently had a root canal on a tooth that was capped. The dentist told me he wouldn't charge for the build up since I had already paid for that with the cap. This eleminated my insurance co-pay for that visit. Even though they consider this a normal way to do business, I am aware that this is not the industry norm. For this root canal they didn't have me come in for 2 or 3 visits; it was taken care of in 1 which saved me time away from work and money. read more

I purchased a Yelp deal for ZOOM whitening - it was well worth it. The office was comfortable and upscale and had some pretty impressive high-tech features. The technician (I'm not too sure about the terminology here - my apologies) that administered the whitening was friendly and accommodating, which made the whole process go a lot faster and was a lot less intimidating. The only weird thing was when Dr. Kralj met with me after the procedure he didn't really look me in the eye when he was talking to me. The receptionist also exhibited this behavior. Trust me when I say this: Dr. Koos is hands down the best oral surgeon and for anyone who needs any kind of tooth surgery I would recommend him hands down. My story: after countless years of my dentist persuading me to get my wisdom teeth removed, I finally agreed. The dentist that I was recommended did not get the best reviews so I looked up Dr. Koos and all of the excellent reviews. During the consultation, I had originally told Dr. Koos that I wanted to hold on my surgery until after my birthday as it was scheduled for 5/28 and my birthday was the 31st. Dr. Koos agreed and set it for today, 6/18. During the weeks which led up to the surgery, I was somewhat apprehensive (let's be real, who is happy to have surgery?) but I kept looking at Dr. Koos reviews which eased my fears. The big day: I got called to the operating room and Trish, (the doctor's wonderful assistant) put the laughing gas on me and asked me what kind of music do I like and I said "R. Kelly." By the second song, Dr Koos inserted the sedative in me and the next thing I knew I was being led to my cousin's car with all four of my wisdom teeth removed! With all of the "goodie bag" that he gave my mother along with instructions on how to take care of the teeth, I only came out with minor swelling and bleeding which stopped in a couple of hours. He even called to check up later tonight to see how everything went and answered both me and my mother's questions post surgery! This is the best dentist I have ever used. Dr. Krajl and his staff are outstanding. The dental hygienists are very thorough and do a GREAT job of cleaning teeth. Their goal is to make your visit comfortable, not painful. Massage chairs with satellite TV can make a cleaning go much faster, and it does. In addition Dr. Krajls partner is an orthopedic surgeon and did a great job of removing my wisdom teeth. Financially the pricing is very good. In addition if you do not have insurance, they reduce the costs (i think 30%?). The two women working up front ROCK, they have always been great about getting me in, making sure I knew my costs vs. what my insurance company would pay. I highly recommend Ora Dental to anyone in the South Loop or anyone who just has fears about going to see the dentist. The Dental Assistants who help Dr. Krajl are very friendly and helpful. I discovered ORA about 6 years ago when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I had such a great experience with Dr Koos and the team and immediately became a fan of ORA. Most recently, Dr Kralj and the team saved the day after an accident where I cracked two teeth, exposing a nerve, required immediate attention. They were able to squeeze me in for a quick consultation the same day of the accident, walked me through the process of what was required and showed sincere care for well being. The next day they completed the 2 hour procedure to save my teeth and use them as the foundation for two new crowns. I was quite comfortable during the procedure, I couldn't have asked for a more caring and professional team. The South Loop location will definitely be the only location I will be going to for any sort of dental care. Note: I have bounced around several of ORA's 5 locations in Chicago, mostly out of convenience to my office. I now understand they somewhat operate independently of one another. I had a great experience at Ora and will definitely be returning. Everyone in the office was professional and friendly; from the front office to the hygienist and dentist everyone had a smile on their face. Dr. Patel is wonderful. She explained everything clearly and answered all my questions regarding some concerns I was having. I was interested in Invisalign and she addressed this without putting on any pressure to get it done. I got a cleaning and X-rays and was in and out super quickly. Seriously I was only in the waiting room for 30 seconds. The office is really nice, clean, beautifully decorated, they have a parking lot right next door which is convenient and they have TVs in the exam rooms. DR. KOOS DID A PHENOMENAL JOB WITH MY WISDOM TEETH REMOVAL! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM FOR FUTURE SURGERIES. Being the gay man that I am I was overreacting about the procedure up until I had my appointment. I literally thought I was going to die and hate the thought of needles or being put under. My consultation prior to the surgery was very nonchalant and Koos gave me the reality of my situation - only needing to get 3 out of the 4 wisdom teeth out due to one not even being in and not worth pulling as it could seriously affect my sinus. I showed up to my appointment on an early Saturday morning and was beyond nervous in the lobby that I was shedding tears. Once the practitioner called my name to come back to the operating room I gulped and prayed that this would go smoothly. The practitioner could tell I was a little nervous and immediately asked, "What kind of music do you like? We have anything imaginable." I replied, "Britney Spears." She looked back at me instantly as if she was surprised and said, "Oh okay, it's one of those mornings?" I said, "Definitely, yes." As she began hooking me up to the anesthesia machine, she began to play a remix to Britney's Outrageous and began dancing to the beat as she was preparing me for Dr. Koos's arrival. And this wasn't just in a pair of headphones - this was for the whole room to hear on speakers. This definitely put me at ease and took the tension off my shoulders. I was so into the music that I forgot to breathe the anesthesia in through my nose that by the time Koos entered the room and was going to give me my sedation shot, I wasn't even woozy yet. So he let me soak in some more anesthesia for about 5-10 more minutes until I could start to hear slow-mo Britney. Koos gave me the shot and I was out like a light bulb. I experienced no waking up or witnessing of the teeth removed. I was scheduled for an hour and 15 minutes and I was done in less than 45 minutes! I woke up numb and feeling great that I couldn't believe how easy the procedure went. After the surgery I went and got my meds and had minor swelling. I was out on Gaslight's patio that afternoon with a friend. Did I really just get surgery done this morning because I still couldn't believe it? Dr. Koos called me later that Saturday to check up on me and see how I was feeling. He truly cares about his patients! As far as wisdom tooth extraction goes, I had an excellent experience with Dr. Schrotenboer. Understandably so, I was not looking forward to it, and had been putting it off for a while. The previous oral surgeon I consulted with was abrasive and impatient with my questions and it did nothing but increase my anxiety. Dr. Schrotenboer was the exact opposite. He took the time out at my consultation to sit down with me and carefully explain the entire procedure, talking about every last little detail and concern of mine. He was very friendly and ensured that all my questions got answered before I left, while making me feel completely at ease and confident. I knew exactly what would happen and what to expect. The day of the surgery was no different. Dr. Schrotenboer and his great team started me off with some laughing gas to relax me, and kept talking to me till I drifted off, ensuring that I was comfortable the entire time. The staff helping was also very helpful and definitely knew what they were doing. The night of the surgery he actually called me to check on my progress and see how I was doing and if I was feeling better, which I thought was incredible! I talked to him for a bit on the phone, and again, he was willing to listen and answer any questions I had. He is definitely one to go above and beyond. I had my surgery on a Saturday and I was back at work on Monday. My sister needs to get her wisdom teeth extracted this next week and I got her an appointment with Dr. Schrotenboer too. I would most definitely recommend Dr. Schrotenboer to anyone getting their wisdom teeth extracted! He knows what he's doing and he's an excellent healthcare professional. read more

Way to ruin me for other dentists, guys. Seriously, though -- my husband went last week and came home raving about the dentist. Who raves about getting their teeth cleaned? This morning, I finally experienced it for myself. As everyone else on Yelp has said: the staff is gracious and friendly, the office is immaculate, and the service is exceptional. I also had no idea you could even use lasers and crazy mechanical de-scalers on teeth, which just shows you how technophobic my old dentists were. I originally chose this place because it's mindful of its environmental footprint. Apart from the presence of bottled water (augh! no!), they absolutely live up to the billing. I was really impressed at the dentist's own commitment to being greener. It didn't feel like a bunch of talk for show. I'll be back every six months, for real. One of my bottom wisdom teeth had started to become a real nuisance to me in the past few months so I finally checked the local oral surgeons to see when and how quickly I could get the issue resolved. My insurance had given me pages of offices that they claimed were in my network, and it was a GOD SEND that Dr. Koos and Ora Surgery were on that list. I had called at least a dozen and gotten really poor customer service or felt instantly distrustful due to poor reviews, etc. But Dr. Koos had amazing reviews and one more coming his way. From the first interactions with his front desk, to the initial consultation, to the scheduling and the actual surgery - everyone was respectful and courteous and knowledgeable and it instantly put me to ease. I was nervous about the general anesthesia, but his assistant worked confidently and with ease and before I knew it, I went from looking up at their blue sky ceiling to being walked to my ride home. They gave me a bag full of information and everything that I needed for a smooth recovery. It's the first morning after my two lower wisdom teeth were extracted and I feel great! It was also so great that Dr. Koos calls to check up after the surgery to make sure that you understand the care plan for the next few days, in case you were too groggy to remember immediately after the surgery. I absolutely loved my experience at ORA today. The staff were extremely professional and helpful. For the first time in my adult life, I had the best experience at a dental office. Although I couldn't use my dental insurance at ORA, I still feel it was worth it. I will change my dental plan to a PPO this year. Nonetheless, the out of pocket cost was more than reasonable. Dr. Kralj and Shelly (awesome hygienist) eliminated any anxiety I had about dentists. I never felt additional services were being pushed on me. Dr. Kralj didn't feel ZOOM was needed at this time. If there was any way to add more stars to this place I totally would !!. I had never had surgery before, I was extremely nervous about getting my wisdom teeth pulled out but Dr. Koos and his team were amazing. They made me feel very at ease and comfortable. I had the best experience minor pain and swollen. The procedure was so fast and pain less i didn't even realize that it was done once I had woke up from the anesthesia. While Dr. Koos team prepared for the procedure they played the music of my preference as well as making me feel relaxed before the anesthesia kicked in which i really appreciated. Dr. Koos office is really clean, very modern and nice. His team is amazing, professional and extremely nice. I had my procedure in the morning and the same night Dr. Koos called me to check up on how I was feeling and to reminded me of things i needed to take care of. ORA has been my go-to dental office for routine work for a little less than a year. In that short amount of time, I've had an infected molar and another molar required replacing a 25 year -old silver filling. Not to mention the usual preventive care. Drs Broomhead and Kralj are both gentle, meticulous and use the latest technology to ensure that they are doing the best for your dental care. I have been their patients for almost 2 years since 2013 for Invisalign treatment. The doctor and nurses are nice and professional. The wait isn't too bad every time I come. However, their general staff is horrible. I encounter multiple frustrating issues because of their incompetent staff 1. I was sent home MULTIPLE times (in instances where I have to reschedule an appointment) because of miscommunication (i.e., the doctor wasn't there for that appointment, etc.) They just rescheduled without trying to find out what my next appointment is for...as it could take 5 mins to pick up my invisalign, 1 hour for whitening, or 30 mins for doctor's check up, etc. 2. They messed up in sending a claim to my insurance company for reimbursement. (They were not even planning to send a claim to my insurance company until I asked) My lesson learned is that NEVER PAY UP FRONT. It gives them no incentive to follow through with your insurance company to get their money back because you already paid. Not only that I have to ask them to send a claim to my insurance company. I also have to call my insurance company couple times after just to find out NO CLAIM WAS RECEIVED and to resolve the issue. 3. Now that my insurance company paid for half, they took forever to give me a refund back. They didn't know they owe me a refund until I called. I called them 5-6 times already. EVERY TIME they said they will leave a note for the office manager Amy. She will review the claim and call me back. Yet, no call back ever. It has been at least a month since I got my insurance statement. I called today and again, they said, they will let the manager know and she will call me back tomorrow. If she doesn't, I should call back!!!!!! WTH The girl on the phone was even mad at me....wth?!!! I will never go back there for any kinds of treatment, especially when they are horrible at dealing with insurance. It's frustrated when you have to deal with all kinds of paperwork/phone calls because nobody cares. My general dentist always helps me call the insurance to see if a specific service is covered before treating me, and they always handle all the insurance claims. read more

I got my Invisialign procedure done here about a year ago. If my memory is correct, this is the only dental office in Chicago that offered Acceledent and with that feature in mind, the entire procedure was less expensive as well! This facility accepts CareCredit, which is a major plus for customers that don't have thousands in their bank account. The staff - from the receptionists to the doctors- was very professional and friendly. The furniture and decor is chic. The doctors are good. Though I was left alone by assistants for over 10 minutes a couple times in the treatment room to wait for their "coming soon". There is one time an assistant just disappeared for over 30 mint so I had to grab another assistant to figure out what's going on. Mentally prepare yourself that you have to tell them which stage you are in your treatment and what treatment you are supposed to get. I've been seeing a few assistants on different appointments who did not know me or my treatment progress at all, so I was not given the treatment I was supposed to have according to the treatment plan. So make sure you know your progress and tell the front desk you need to see your doctor when you call to schedule your appointment. Or they will just send you any assistant who is available on your appointment. I don't mind seeing an assistant most of the times, but I do need a doctor when an assistant cannot give the treatment. If you are going to have invisalign here, here is my experience to share. I saw good results but had some bad experience. I've been having Invisalign here and I needed IPR when I got my 15th (around that) aligners, but they never did it until I reminded them four weeks later that I was supposed to do IPR on my previous appointment. It happened again this morning. I called them to make an appointment for getting new aligners. They scheduled me and did not realize I need IPR on that appointment until I told them I need my doctor to show up on this appointment to do IPR. After realizing that, they had to push my appointment two weeks back because the doctor's calendar is full. I went to Ora because it has a lot of good reviews, so I had to accept they were too busy to see me. read more

Dr. Koos took out my lower two wisdom teeth a week ago and was wonderful! The initial consultation was quick and clear, and Dr. Koos walked me through the procedure, recovery, and answered any questions I had. The actual surgery took less than an hour, and was totally painless: the nurse prepped me and started me on nitrous oxide, and then Dr. Koos came in, chatted with me for a bit, and then started me on the general anesthetic. When I woke up, the nurse led me to a recovery room, where I sat for a bit, before the doctor came in and walked me through the recovery again. I had the surgery at 1 PM on a Friday, and only felt a little numb for the rest of the day (no pain). I felt minimal pain for the next few days, and had a little bit of swelling and bruising on the third and fourth days, but they went away quickly. I was back to school and work on Monday! Dr. Koos gave me a prescription for painkillers, but I just took aspirin for a couple of days, and felt totally fine. Now, a week later, I feel almost totally back to normal (it can still be a little bit uncomfortable to eat, but is getting better everyday)! I was recommended by a friend to see this oral surgeon. There is nothing against the oral surgeon, but the office. I was there for a x-ray, and most places would submit the cost to insurance and the rest one pay later as a deductible, instead it is opposite at this office. And, I was informed by my insurance, once I pay that amount there is no refund, nothing against my deductible, but I can wait for the office to submit a claim, but that did not happen. I pay the stated amount up front, not happy of course, because it was more then the stated amount. However, I have a follow up procedure over $4,000. I wanted the office to submit the quote to insurance before I pay, because it is like paying for an overpriced steak. I was promised that they will send the quote to insurance and they will call me. All, I got was a text message that I have yet to set up an appointment for propose treatment, and when I text message back, no reply, silence, not even a mail quote. I am guessing they are not serious about doing business with me. And, I will make sure my friends will not do business with them. Would I recommend this office, no, expect to bring a lot of cash upfront, or a personal check for unexpected amount, or a credit limit way over the expected limit. I love the fact I don't have to look for a dentist / surgeon ever again! THIS IS THE BEST PLACE IN THE WHOLE CITY!! I will be continuing my care here although I have moved from Ohio... when I found just how genuine this group is, I promised I would not go anywhere else unless I had an emergency or moved out of the country.... I've now been to see Dr. Kralj, Dr. Kralj's endodontist recommendation, seen the hygienist, AND had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Koos here! Honestly, you won't find a better dental experience in the city. Highly recommended. Bedside manner is awesome, and very calming. Dr. Kralj somehow remembers conversations we've had months prior and is super attentive to your needs and symptoms. Friendliest front desk staff you'll come across too. Dr. Koos extracted my upper left molar and did an incredible job. The extraction had to be harder than usual since I am not able to open my mouth very wide. I was very concerned about how this extraction could possible by achieved. I have been pretty much pain free and have had absolutely no swelling since the extraction, yesterday. The office staff are all very pleasant. The team and the decor of the office is both contribute to a calming environment. read more

This was my best dental experience ever!! The office is very high tech and relaxing. The receptionists are friendly and helpful. I had no issues with billing my insurance and it was a great deal! I was not overcharged and there was no unexplained billing. I was skeptical at first because I needed the remaining 3 of my wisdom teeth removed and I wanted to be put to sleep so I thought it would cost me an arm and leg but when they ran my insurance and came back and told me my copay I thought what a great deal! First I came in for a consultation with Dr. Steve Koos and his assistant took my xrays which was also done in a very high tech way. Dr. Koos was the most soothing/relaxing dentist I have ever been to. He has a very calming demeanor and and very soothing voice. He explained everything to me in detail and I was very satisfied and decided to move forward with the procedure. The day of the procedure I got there early to fill out my paperwork and pay. They called me to the back at my appointment time (which is huge for me) there was no extra waiting. When I got back the assistant asked me what I kind of music I liked and I told her and she played it over the speakers while prepping me. She was really nice and made me feel comfortable. First you get a mask with nitrogen oxide and it makes you feel very relaxed and tingly :). Then Dr. Koos came back and started talking to me and having great conversation before he administered the anethesia...then I was out like a light! When I woke up we were still listening to my music and I thought man that was fast! Then you go to recovery and they explain post procedure to you and send you off with pain meds and walk you and your driver to the car. Once the local anethesia wore off I was in a little pain and took the vicodin and an ibuprofen but the next day (today) I have not taken any medication at all. I feel great! I'm not in pain at all. Dr. Koos even called me last night to check on me and see how I was doing and go over post procedure again...that was great! I had the misfortune of breaking a wisdom tooth 2 weeks after I had hip replacement surgery. Recovering from hip surgery is hard enough. But now, facing oral surgery to extract wisdom teeth, and the potential to get an infection at the implant site from dental work left me very worried. My fears were put to rest by Dr Koos and his staff at Ora Oral Surgery. I was able to get an emergency appointment the next day for a consultation and the wisdom teeth extraction two days later. At the consultation, Dr Koos thoroughly explained what had to be done, how it would be done, and how he would minimize the risk of infection. He answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. Dr Koos knowledge and professional is outstanding. He was fully versed in all the protocols to follow for someone like me with an implant to minimize the risk of infection. The day of the procedure everything went smoothly. The extraction was painless. They gave me a little nitrous before the procedure that calmed me down. Dr Koos assistant was warm and friendly. Our little chat really got my mind off the whole procedure. Dr Koos came in and painlessly inserted the IV needle in my arm to administer the anesthesia. The last thing I remember was telling Dr Koos that I didn't like the band Coldplay, but for some reason, the Coldplay song playing in the surgical room was relaxing me. Then bam! I was out cold. I woke up; the teeth were out; there was not much swelling nor pain. Everything went smoothly with as little pain as possible. I am one week in my recovery as I write this review. The recovery has gone perfectly. Dr Koos is one of the best Oral Surgeons period! He and his staff are caring and professional people. You will be in superb hands if you need oral surgery. I was looking for a new dentist in the Chicagoland area, and this one beats all the rest! After receiving an appointment the day after I called, the doctors were very understanding in answering all of my questions on my previous procedure at a different dentist. I was nervous to find out what they were going to say about my teeth, but waiting in the patient lounge eased the nerves away, in a space more like a spa than a dental studio. Not once did I feel like I was going to be told something incorrect, or misleading. The doctors were so welcoming and calming, eliminating the worry most people feel about the dentist. Going to the dentist will no longer be a pain, but possibly relaxing! Not only do they have parking in their south loop office, but also have reasonable prices, especially for those without insurance. They do however, accept almost all forms of dental insurance. I will definitely be returning for regular cleanings, and I recommend everyone to this office! read more

I feel obligated to 'pay it forward' since I found ORA because of Yelp. I moved to Chicago four years ago and had been in search of a great dentist the whole time until I found ORA recently. When I moved from Florida I was sad to leave my dentist's office there and even thought of flying back for cleanings every six months (I know, crazy, but I'm weird about my teeth). So I tried several dentists in Chicago and they were fine, but that's all...just fine. ORA is a different story. If you want the best care for your teeth possible in a beautiful office with the latest EVERYTHING your search is over. Bonuses: They are eco-conscious and my cleaning was completely covered by my insurance. A word of advice, it took me over a month to get an appointment for a first cleaning so if you need a cleaning give them a call sooner rather than later. read more
