I don't see one surgical tool before the surgery which was a nice touch to easing anxiety. First time visitor and nothing went well. They took me back for X-rays and quoted my needed services . After that, basically kicked and me out. The price was 1,300, and asked me to get my things and follow them to the front. I get to front and say "sorry, your delta dental didn't cover the full amount . You'll have to pay everything today ." I then ask "so is there any other options " She says " no payment is expected today , does that make sense?" I left shortly afterwards. read more

Be aware of over billing!!! and deceptive practice. Ive got a tooth extraction in July, and when on the chair already, I was told by the dentist that I need a 3D scan. I was not informed in advance that the scan is not covered by any insurance. After the procedure the assistant and the office manager both tried to rudely pushed me to take a second 3D scan!!! Despite being under anesthesia I was able to fight back and did not do it! I need to have an implant now, and I wanted the office to sent paperwork for a predetermination to my Insurance carrier. I have been making phone calls to Cameo since October, 2025 , and I have been lied to that they already sent it. Cameo doesn't want to send paperwork for predetermination of the cost of treatment, because they won't be able to deceive patients in billing cost. In order to get an implant I needed to stop a medication for 3 months prior to procedure. I have been off the medication now for 6 months , because I am waiting for the predetermination! And I need to go back on the medication ASAP! I started the treatment with Cameo, and only Cameo can send the paperwork for a predetermination. I made some inquiries with another provider/dental office, but I have to start from the beginning with them in order to get the predetermination. As of today my insurance company doesn't have any paperwork send from Cameo for predetermination. read more

I don't like writing negative reviews but this one is important. I initially had a great experience with Dr. Babcic on a root canal but now it's 14 months later and I've only had continuously bad experiences around that same tooth. Dr. Babcic did two root canals to try to save the tooth and eventually it still had to come out, that was traumatic but I felt well cared for in the process. However, after it came out I found out from another doctor in the practice that I needed a sinus lift. It was due to the bone available for an implant. However, they had my X-rays before and after the tooth extraction so why did it take them another 4 months to notify me of this very expensive additional procedure that isn't covered by insurance. Then when I finally wrapped my head around it and scheduled it they said the dr I was scheduled with wasn't the right doctor and they needed me to see a different one with more experience. So now they're not confident in the doctors treating me? Then the price changed again. I went to get a second opinion from a different oral surgeon who pointed out how much bone was lost and then not backfilled by the tooth extraction which is crazy because I had to pay for and endure a painful bone graft process back when they pulled it. So that process failed but instead of informing me of that they just said I didn't have enough bone mass. I'm still searching for the right provider to do the treatment because it's so nuanced that it's costing me more and more $$ because of oversights and mistakes by Cameo. Too disappointing. read more

I came in with some really bad tooth pain. It turned out I needed to have a few teeth pulled, and I needed some repairs done on a root canal I'd had 20 years earlier. It was a lot of dental work and I was pretty nervous. But everybody was so friendly and reassuring, and I felt like I was in expert hands. Dr. Chae in particular was fantastic. He gave me his personal number, and he texted me after each procedure to see how I was holding up. My regular dentist referred me to Cameo in the West Loop for two root canals, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Dr. Moussa is amazing--she works so quickly and efficiently, and I felt so confident in her care. This is my second visit to this office and I felt welcomed and well cared for. From my interaction with Marisol to Farah ( I hope I'm spelling that right) to the wonderful Dr Newman. During my first visit it was to get my gums evaluated it was really great Dr Newman explained what would happen and how long it would take in that second visit. Usually I feel anxious but I wasn't this time only nervous because this was new. She has a gentle hand and continually checks in to make sure her patient which is me is doing well. But get this she shared her cell# and told me she would call me later on to check on me. REALLY I've had many dentist and periodontics and this never was offered. That's care and customer service. A little about the front desk everyone was pleasant and shared a smile. Marisol who I interacted with was so friendly and clearly understood insurance and claims. Overall I'm happy this was a referral and now I'm wondering can I stay with them instead of going back to my dentist? By far the best dental office I have ever been to. I was referred to Cameo West Loop locating by my dentist in a Lincoln Park. I had to re-treat a root canal. I didn't know what to expect going into my first visit and consultation. I was impressed by the facility and their aesthetics (not my priority, but it was pleasing!). You felt very welcome as soon as you walk in and when you check in with one of the friendly receptionists. It's nice that they have several so that you are greeted and checked in right away. The appointment started on time which is so important to me, as I had bad experiences usually at dental offices. I met Dr. Babcic and she explained my treatment plan thoroughly and addressed all my concerns. I felt confident in the work she was going to do in my next appointment. I had a successful and smooth procedure. I honestly still can't believe it didn't phase me that I had a root canal treatment that it didn't even affect my day and the following days after. I've never written a yelp review, but this place was so amazing that I had to! Cameo Dental was the best dental experience I've ever had. I was visiting Chicago and had to have an emergency root canal. They got me in immediately. The whole staff was so kind and supportive. I didn't realize that my dental insurance had issues, and the staff called my provider several times to clarify the issues. They went above and beyond. Dr. Estevez did my root canal and she was incredible. Explained everything to me and did a great job getting me numb, because I often struggle with the anesthesia. Alex assisted and was so amazing as well. They were both so kind and made me feel so comfortable -- noise cancelling headphones, a blanket, and sunglasses. I was referred here for root canal treatment. When calling to schedule my appointment, the front desk nurse said with insurance I could still pay thousands of dollars. She told me that in case I would be shocked by the bill. However I was freaked after hearing this... usually root canal doesn't cost that much and I told my dentist. I went there anyways, but the price changed, much lower. I don't know what happened, but I was happy that the bill wouldn't kill me(jk). Yet I feel the pricing was too random... Nobody enjoys going to the dentist, let alone dental specialists. That is where I found myself after my failed crown procedure. Nobody's fault, it just happens. The moment I left my dentist's office I called Cameo Dental Specialists and Jessica assisted with scheduling my appointment for that day. Since they are conveniently located in West Loop (they even have parking) I drove home, parked, and walked over. It is a little difficult to find the entry if you don't know where you are going, but I managed to get to the office on the 6th floor. I was greeted by Jessica. I filled out my 'paperwork' electronically and waited to be called. Eddie was the tech. He was calming, professional, friendly, and reassuring. He performed my needed, inital xrays. Dr. Dhawan (Sunny) then reviewed my xrays with me on a screen in the room and explained everything that was about to take place. He too was extremely professional, focused, and ensured I was not in pain throughout my root canal. Eddie and Dr. Dhawan worked together like a well oiled machine. Nothing ever goes perfectly in procedures; they seamlessly and proactively addressed any issues/potential issues that were encountered. All in all, it was a great experience considering my situation. He is intelligent and a quick thinker as well as considerate and kind. The staff was amiable and competent. I scheduled a consultation and was just inquiring about oral surgery to correct smile to feel better about myself. Before even meeting anyone in person the representative on the phone was rude ,unprofessional, and nasty attitude! She wouldn't allow me to finish a single sentence before interrupting and kept stating how I was wrong and how such procedures would not be needed (without a actual in person consultation).She kept throwing the phrases "thousand of dollars" to scare me as if I was unable to pay for the procedure I was inquiring about. She made a reference to my age as too I was too young and unknowledgeable for oral surgery/implants and how braces would the preferred route again(without a actual in-person consultation). I was referred here by my primary dentist. After they moved my appointment back from 2:45 to 3, I showed up 9 minutes late (3:09). BTW the building is hard to find. It's next to UPS if anyone else struggles to find it. Upon arriving I was told that I was too late for my appointment and the Dr had gone into surgery. The front staff told me that I was 15 minutes and there was no way for them to fit me in. First of all- if the Dr goes into surgery, then they knew enough to call me. I had no phone call, no asking to move it back again. It felt more like the Dr went home and used their front staff to cover. I was so nervous but the dentist mr. munaretto was good with explaining everything from the before and after care. when I came in for my surgery I was a little nervous but his assistant made sure I was comfortable and kept me calm. the procedure when well although I woke up during it and I remember the nurse was holding my hand. that was so kind.once I finished they Gave me instructions for at home and pushed me out in a wheelchair. I was referred to Dr. Babcic through my new general dentist and I am so thrilled I was. She and Eddie made my entire experience incredibly comfortable. Their chair-side manner is informative, diligent, and friendly. They explained the process of my root canals, thoroughly, and I felt more informed than I ever have. This isn't my first rodeo with root canals, either. I was having extreme pain in one of my teeth. Through x-ray Dr. Babcic discovered that not only did I need a root canal on the tooth giving me pain, but also the tooth in front of it. This root canal was initially done by my previous general dentist (not an Endodontist. My first problem..). He missed a fourth canal, eventually allowing infection to set in. I was previously prescribed antibiotic for that so when I went to Dr. Babcic it was all business. She took care of both root canals and resealed the other three canals as well. I left feeling great! If it weren't for the technology this office has that canal would have easily been missed, again. The view the x-ray provided showcased a canal that was untouched. Eddie showed me several angles of the x-ray and it was very clear where the canal was missed. I highly recommend Dr. Babcic. She is incredible at what she does and is afflitiated with several endodontics clubs, associations, and societies. My words do her no justice. She is absolutely amazing! I would rank them higher if possible. My 84 year old mother was visiting and we were flying the next day to see my son's graduation and they took her in immediately to find the cause of her swelling and tooth pain. They were thorough, kind, patient and professional. They did the first part of a root canal so she could travel and we could enjoy my son's graduation without worrying about her getting an infection and/or experiencing more pain. When my mom returned home, she had to do the second part of the root canal with an endodontist and he said the work Caameo Dental Specialists did was wonderful. I read good reviews about Cameo Dental, so I'm sure they have quality dental surgeons; however, I want to share my experience. I made an appointment to have an emergency root canal in the beginning of May. Cameo was so busy they couldn't see me until June 9. They confirmed my insurance and told me I was all set. Today is June 8th and I called to confirm my appointment. They informed me that my insurance is no longer in network. The $1000 procedure will be 100% out of pocket. I now have to find another dental office that will take my insurance and wait another month to have my root canal. Had they shared this information sooner, I could have had my root canal by now. I hope my experience will help others avoid this poor customer service. read more

I was referred by my dentist to Cameo because I needed a root canal. I do have dental anxiety but was assured that Dr. Babcic is great and will inform and assure me during our consultation. Once I arrived I was escorted immediately to the dental chair and since I wanted Nitrous, I was told I needed to have oxygen for 5 min. first. So, no consultation I guess. The Dr. came in and looked in my mouth for 1 second and then started. That's when I got super nervous because I was still on the oxygen, NOT the nitrous. So I said to Dr. Babcic that I needed the gas first. She said it's on. I assured her it was not. She said "It's on full blast". But it wasn't. There was no gas being given to me. She just sat and looked at me. I said again, "I'm not getting any gas." She says "So do you not want to do it?" all annoyed. I said that there must be a problem with the gas. She literally did not care. She just asked again "What do you want?" I was appalled and had waited weeks for the appointment. I needed to do it, so I somehow went through with it. Traumatized to say the least. Oh, and they charged me $165 for the fresh air on top of $1600 for the root canal. No apologies, just annoyance. I guess that's what I get for making a 4:00pm appointment on a Monday. Complete indifference. Oh, and my tooth has hurt every single day since. That was over a year ago. read more

I am not a huge fan of going to the dentist, but my whole experience at Cameo was amazing. I would highly recommend them for endodontics. I went here for a root canal and internal bleaching with Dr. Babcic. I was terrified prior to my first appointment, but she throughly explained my diagnosis and laid out what the process would look like at my first visit. She made me feel comfortable at every subsequent visit and is very personable. Every visit she made sure to answer all of my questions, and I am extremely satisfied with the cosmetic outcome of the tooth. Cameo's staff is also extremely friendly. Because I had multiple follow up appointments, I interacted with Jessica and Eddie on a regular basis. Jessica was always a friendly face at the front desk and made me feel welcome to the office. Came here for a root canal last week after experiencing several days of a pretty bad toothache. I can't recommend this place enough. Dr. Babcic and Sammy (the hygienist/tech) were amazing: they put me at ease immediately, kept me informed of what was going to happen during the procedure, and what to expect after. The procedure itself, while not exactly fun, was painless, and within hours after the novocaine wore off I was feeling like myself again. The reason why I'm giving this review is because of the handling of the billing. My daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled back in May. When she went for her consultation, she wasn't given a written quote. My insurance company mailed the estimate , and according to their estimate, my out-of-pocket would have been around $1,500. This was received 2 days before her scheduled surgery. I wasn't involved with consultation because my husband and I were dealing with the virus. My daughter and I went to the dentist 1 hour before her surgery so I can explain the situation. My husband had the same surgery a year ago and his out-of-pocket was only $700, and we got a $50 credit two months later. I also explained this to the billing person, and said the $1,500 seemed unreasonable to me and we can't afford this. The quote came down to $950 and I was told this is all I would need to pay. I was even told they were going to submit the anesthetic to my medical insurance and there's a good possibility I will get a refund for that. Seven months later, I'm being hounded for $12.52. Unbelievable!!!! The surgery itself went well, and we were pleased, definitely shop around for this procedure because something still doesn't seem right with the submission of my claim. read more
