Amazing and generous neighborhood company! My Chanel sunglasses I bought at Bloomingdales lost a screw already and at $600 wtf... but anyway not the point of the story. I called a few places close to my dr who I'm at twice a week and found these guys. Found Street parking meter right in front which still had 7 minutes on it... and took my chances in case they couldn't repair the sunglasses. The nice guy took my sunglasses into the back, repaired, cleaned and adjusted them and all for FREE... I mean, who does anything for free anymore? A great find! A lens in my glasses fell out and I need them fixed fast. I stoped in first thing in the morning and they got the flense back in, tightened all of the screws and cleaned them up. Amazing service. Adjusted 3 pairs of glasses for free (fixing one of them) immediately and sold me new lenses for an old pair of Oakley Holbrooks that I had given up on for $20!!! I've been going to see Robert at Optix for probably 15 years. I live in the valley and drive to Santa Monica for my frames/lenses because they are that good. I'm very particular about my vision and since I use progressive lenses for regular daily use and for my computer/work, I need someone who knows what they are doing. Robert has given me wonderful service these many years and offers a great variety of frame styles and exactly the type of lens and coatings I should be using. He recently recommended a special type of blue light blocker coating for my computer lens and what a huge difference it makes on eye fatigue and comfort since I'm on it a good portion of the day. They do have a childrens table with childrens chair , not high bar chairs you have and theres no 2 year old who would sit on it. No, I was not shown any other brand, false! Called over the phone to see if they carried Smith Optics brand and many styles to choose from, but the guy on the phone said there was no such brand. I thought that maybe this guy might have misunderstood me, so I asked him again, and once again with an attitude, he responded there is no such brand, but yet they are a dealer for Smith Optics, according to Smith Optics's website. How would I ever want to spend my hard earned money at a store that only sells prescription glasses, is a dealer for Smith Optics, but argues with me that there is no such brand. I live in Florida. A friend of mine who moved from Santa Monica told me about Optix when I said I needed new progressive glasses. I called them the next day and spoke with Robert. I gave him my prescription and within a week I received my 2 new pairs of glasses at a great price. It was a great thing Optix did for me because I've had progressive lenses before and they were never right even when I went there in person for all the measurements that needed to be taken . I left it in Roberts' hands and he picked out the frames for me and did the right measurements with only me showing him a picture of me with my old frames. UNBELIEVABLE CRAFTSMANSHIP!!!! DO NOT GO HERE! I went to get my brand new glasses adjusted and they charged me $5. Okay it's Santa Monica I'll pay for the convenience factor, but every other Optician I've gone to it's been free. Paid the $5 and gave my glasses to the "specialist", waited 5-10 minutes and when I got my glasses back the lenses were cracked! I didn't notice at first because I had my contacts on and couldn't see through my glasses, but when I got back to my office I took my contacts out and put my glasses on and couldn't see anything through the cracked lenses. I called the store immediately and was told that they couldn't be held responsible because I didn't purchase my glasses there, but it's a glasses store! How can you have a license to sell and adjust glasses and crack the lenses on a pair of glasses?! So unprofessional! I was appalled - never going here again! Thank god I could return my glasses online and they are shipping me a new pair or else I would've gone in the store and raised hell. read more

Had an absolutely fantastic experience at Optix on Wilshire. I came in needing to get my PD (Pupillary Distance) measured and a new nose piece for my Ray Bans. While I was waiting for the nose piece, the guy at the counter helped me try on new glasses frames. Once my ray bans were finished and I had my measurements, they even threw in a free sunglasses case for me! I was shocked, they didn't let me pay for anything they helped me out with today, it was so nice of them. Could not recommend more highly. I'm VERY picky about glasses and went to about a half dozen stores before going to Optix. They had the best selection--not just the trendy stuff you see everywhere, but cool, unique frames, too. They're as helpful or hands-off as you want them to be.
