excellent service, efficient and thorough, friendly staff and doctor, nice office with latest equipment

I honestly cannot recommend this practice highly enough. If you are looking for an optometrist office that combines absolute clinical expertise with genuine, top-tier human care, this is it. I've been working through a complex, months-long process of finding the right contact lenses, and the level of patience, understanding, and thoroughness I received here has been unmatched. Steve Romero is truly a guardian angel and one of the best professionals I have ever worked with. He has gone completely above and beyond - not only helping me find a comfortable, well-fitting frame after a frustrating experience elsewhere, but even stepping in to help secure replacement lenses when my glasses were accidentally damaged at a work offsite. His dedication to making sure I was taken care of every step of the way means the world to me. Dr. Ito is equally phenomenal. She is brilliant, perceptive, attentive, and incredibly thorough. With her, I always feel like my eye health is in the most capable, thoughtful hands. Finding an office of people who genuinely care about their patients makes all the difference. I am so grateful to have ended up in their care. Thank you, Steve, Dr. Ito, and the whole team! read more

Been a patient of Dr. Ito since day one and the reason for that is Dr. Sarah Ito and Dr. Klaus Ito are simply the very best. The staff is amazing!!! Steve is so awesome, along with the rest of the team. I feel as though they listen and really care about me and my vision. They have given me stellar and guidance each and every time I have an appointment. I have confidence in the entire office, which by the way is beautiful, state of the art and pristinely clean. I highly recommend Ocean Park Optometry!!! 100% awesome!!! read more

This should be an update from a past great review. A year has passed and it was time for my annual appointment. The docs are really good, efficient, and friendly. To be honest I go back for Steve. He is super friendly, funny, tells me the truth about how the frames look, and basically makes the whole experience a great one. They have a few parking spaces in the back, otherwise street metered parking can be a bit tricky. Worth it though. read more

From the first person who greets you once you step into the office to the techs who do all the tests to Dr. Klaus everyone is very cordial, caring and pleasant. They all seem to be on a mission to make you comfortable as well as address the medical issues that you're there for. Dr. Klaus is exceptionally attentive and easy to talk to without rushing to get you out. I really like his approach to want to help his patients with their eye issues. read more

Great fun office vibe. Punctual. Friendly staff. Good clean modern equipment and assistance was great!

As always, Dr Sarah Ito was so very skilled, patient & effective in prescribing updated Bifocals, and taking the extra steps to make sure my aging eyes are healthy. In addition, the staff at Ocean Park Optometry genuinely care about their patients and I appreciate their competency. In particular, the practice manager Steve Romero, is an excellent super model for the staff. read more

Friendly staff, highly competent doctors, clean modern office, very modern equipment. Everything one would desire for excellent care and a positive experience. Their products are a bit on the more expensive side but not at a Beverly Hills level. Other than that, I would recommend them with little to no reservations. read more

It amazes me how high tech this office has gotten. With their various machines they can analyze every iota of your eyeball and advise you of minute changes and how to achieve perfect vision and eye health. The people, esp. Dr. Ito, are very nice. read more

Everything about this first time experience was well organized and efficient. The appointment, insurance, check in, people, tests, consult, order process were top notch. And the office has a beautiful vaulted wood ceiling and a flat screen with gentle ocean waves in calming blues. Well designed and executed! read more

My wife and I have been patients of Ocean Park Optometry for about five years now. Even though we live in the South Bay, we happily make the drive to Santa Monica because the level of care, attention to detail, and professionalism from Dr. Ito and her team is truly worth it. A special shoutout to the office manager, Steve--we appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for taking such great care of us during our visit yesterday. We love our new glasses! If you're looking for a great optometrist, I highly recommend giving this office a try. You'll be in great hands. read more

Easy to make an appointment, professional and friendly office. Been going to them three years now.

"I have been coming to this practice for 25 years, and the level of care here is truly exceptional. Over the two decades, I have developed a deep connection and absolute trust in Dr. Ito. The atmosphere she has created is completely unique--it replaces typical clinical anxiety with a profound sense of comfort, warmth, and calm. Whenever she makes a recommendation, I follow it without hesitation because I know she genuinely has my best interests at heart. Having this kind of trusting relationship with a medical professional is incredibly rare, and I cannot recommend her highly enough." read more

Great staff, very happy with the professionalism, friendliness and the ultimate product. Wearing it now!

I've been coming here for years and it continues to be one of those rare places that just does the work well. The new location is a real upgrade. Calmer, better laid out and a big step up from the old spot. It feels intentional, like someone actually thought about how patients move through the space instead of just filling rooms. Dr. Sarah Ito is exactly the kind of doctor you want. Quietly confident, clearly knows what she's doing, no theatrics. You sit down and immediately feel like you're in good hands. No second-guessing, no unnecessary friction, just competence. The equipment is modern, the staff has genuinely good energy and the whole place runs with an easy, understated efficiency that's increasingly rare. And then there's Steve. He's exceptional. Thoughtful, patient, sharp and genuinely invested in getting things right. The kind of customer service that doesn't feel performative, just deeply human and attentive. My only regret is not having met him sooner after all these years coming here. This is a practice that doesn't try to impress you. It earns your trust by doing things properly. Highly recommend. read more

The new location is beautiful and functional, but the lack of parking is a pain. Care from front desk to technicians to the doctor (Klaus Ito) was really quite good. Two thumbs up. read more

Dr Sarah Ito is an extremely skilled optometrist and has gathered a great team working with her. The equipment she and her colleagues use is top of the line, as well as the eyeware that is beautifully displayed in the front part of the spaceous, airy and tastefully designed office. All the staff is friendly. John was very patient and helpful in our glass frames decision.

Excellent service, friendly knowable efferent staff, pleasant environment . Great selection of eyewear.

great customer service. Love Doctor Ito, but products are very expensive comparatively speaking.

Everything. I ordered and purchased glasses. I'm working with Dr. Ito to correct my dry eye condition. I'm happy with the care I'm receiving

As a would be future repeat customer, I decided to leave and not to come back after waiting in the reception area for 30 minutes past my appointment time. Nobody came by to provide an update. Before my appointment, they texted me a link to fill out Patient Registration and Office Policy form. I provided all the required information prior to my arrival. The receptionist asked me to fill out Office Policy form and provide my healthy insurance policy again, which made me think what the point was to fill out patient registration before hand? What's more inappropriate was that the receptionist asked what the last four digits of my SSN were in the presence of other customers. Although I had a negative first impression, I was not planning to write a review here, but decided to write one after seeing lots of positive reviews on yelp. Hope the staff here will improve customer service. read more

They fixed my broken glasses, which others had been unable to do. It required a new part. Now they're like new.

Excellent service and care. Dr. Ito is very knowledgeable. Large assortment of style & high quality eyewear.

I think the actual optometrists here are very capable and good at their jobs but you will wait 30 minutes in the waiting room. I also made an appointment and they canceled it because I didn't "confirm" it. They texted me at 4:43 saying they were going to cancel it and I called at 4:45 two minutes later asking that they didn't and they had already given the appointment away. I don't understand the point in making an appointment if I'm also required to confirm it again weeks in advance. read more

Great crew. From the front desk team to the optometrists and staff, everyone was pleasant and helpful.

Great experience. Great staff. The optometrist explained the tests and thoroughly explained to me the results. Will absolutely come back here. read more
