As a would be future repeat customer, I decided to leave and not to come back after waiting in the reception area for 30 minutes past my appointment time. Nobody came by to provide an update. Before my appointment, they texted me a link to fill out Patient Registration and Office Policy form. I provided all the required information prior to my arrival. The receptionist asked me to fill out Office Policy form and provide my healthy insurance policy again, which made me think what the point was to fill out patient registration before hand? What's more inappropriate was that the receptionist asked what the last four digits of my SSN were in the presence of other customers. Although I had a negative first impression, I was not planning to write a review here, but decided to write one after seeing lots of positive reviews on yelp. After having an absolutely horrific experience elsewhere (see other review), I was surprised to find that this local office took my insurance. I went into the office before making an appointment to make sure and everyone at the front desk was super nice and patient. I then returned for my exam and it went quickly and efficiently and the doc was also super nice. Now, for the best part and I'm so pissed at myself for not remembering his name, but if I remember correctly the glasses he was wearing was made of vinyl records. HE WAS AMAZING. I have a really small face and most glasses hit my cheeks, which I hate. I have a bunch of old frames and he gave me honest opinions of ones I had and ones they carried, and we narrowed down choices. I ended up with one pair of each. Had my vintage frames made into prescription sunglasses and new frames for my all the time glasses. He did not rush me at all and I had his complete attention. I will be definitely be going back. Make note of their hours. I'm such a dummy that I always forget they close for lunch. read more

Great crew. From the front desk team to the optometrists and staff, everyone was pleasant and helpful.

I think the actual optometrists here are very capable and good at their jobs but you will wait 30 minutes in the waiting room. I also made an appointment and they canceled it because I didn't "confirm" it. They texted me at 4:43 saying they were going to cancel it and I called at 4:45 two minutes later asking that they didn't and they had already given the appointment away. I don't understand the point in making an appointment if I'm also required to confirm it again weeks in advance. read more

This was my first visit to the new, clean architecturally crisp office on Ocean Park Blvd. The staff is attentive without being overbearing, the frames selection is more than adequate with all price points and my exam was thorough. oh and they provide parking in the back! Ocean Park Optometry has definitely earned five stars in my book. I had set up the appointment on their website and I received back a form to fill out. They are always there to ask questions before, during and after the appointment. The receptionist checked me in and shortly thereafter I was called in by one of the technicians. After the screening tests the optometrist Sarah Ito did a very thorough evaluation. She is easy to talk with - a really good communicator. Every staff person from the receptionist to the technician to the optician did a great job. I trust Dr. Ito due to her expertise and thorough ways. Also - the office environment is pleasant. I observed a most pleasant yet subtle aroma when I went up to the receptionist desk. Lots of windows, natural light and pretty wood floors. Hey there, it takes a lot for me to write a review. Although Dr. K was great. His staff, half of them were not. I ordered my contact lenses through them and they showed up the wrong prescription. I called. I emailed I called again. The girl shares they don't it your prescription so we just ordered the lesser. And I thought that's weird. I took the prescriptions contacts back to the office and asked for a different brand and return the contacts for a refund. And they refused and said only store credit. And I said let me get this straight. You order the wrong prescription you don't tell me it's a lesser prescription. I didn't open the boxes. You don't return my calls. I have to bring them in and then only store credit. I hope this doesn't happen to you. read more
