I absolutely love my annual visits here! I've seen both Dr. Cooper and Dr. Chung in the past based on availability. They make you feel like family and explain everything so well. I usually hate any kind of medical check up but they are one I always look forward to every year! Their offices are beautiful and spacious, and they use the latest technology to make your eye appointment so simple. Their office staff is also super knowledgeable and helpful, they come prepared with what your insurance covers as well. I usually find street parking when I visit but there are meters and a paid garage I believe. read more

Love my new optometry office. Annabelle and Dr Chung were both great. They are organized and friendly and efficient. The whole experience felt super smooth and information - totally painless. Thank you!! read more

Had an appointment with Dr Chung today. Everyone in the office was welcoming and friendly. The tests were explained clearly. Dr Chung was friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated the explanation of my eyesight in detail. She answered any questions I had. Appointment was in time and everything flowed smoothly. Would definitely recommend this office! read more

I felt very well cared for during my first visit at Cooper Optometry. I was welcomed with a big, authentic smile from reception and immediately handed over to Brandon who greeted me with the utmost respect and hospitality as he began a series of eye health exams before my vision test with Dr Chung. Dr Chung's great chair-side manner made me feel very confident and comfortable. I had many questions and concerns and she answered them in depth and with patience and compassion. She went over my eye health imaging, explaining what it showed (luckily all was healthy). My vision test showed some age related degradation and Dr Chung explained how that is affecting my eyesight and what I may do in the future to correct it. The office is well equipped with the latest technology--the dreaded air puff test is a thing of the past. And Brandon's impeccable care while measuring me for progressive lenses was very reassuring as I've had trouble in the past from another place who placed the reading portion of my lenses improperly. Brandon was also EXTREMELY helpful helping me pick out frames (their selection was excellent!) pointing out the aspects to consider, and was happy to provide his excellent advise when I asked him about what styles suited my face. He made the selection process go so much quicker than if I tried to select them on my own. I can't thank the staff at Cooper enough! read more

My husband and I have seen both Dr Cooper and Dr Tran for our recent annual eye exams since moving to LA in 2019. They run an excellent practice in Santa Monica. Dr Tran was good, and I was extremely impressed with Dr Cooper's knowledge and attention to detail. I highly recommend Dr Cooper if you have severe near-sightedness like I do. The numbers on my contacts prescriptions pretty much shocks most doctors, but not Dr Cooper. Until now it didn't occur to me that I've never had an optometrist who actually understood. Dr Cooper notices every detail, details that have never been found or discussed by previous practices we've been to. Their practice offers a retina scan that you can opt in and pay for out-of-pocket (it was about $40 for me) for a quick and through examination inside of your eyes without needing to get dilated. I also like the idea that records can be kept of what's going on inside of my eyes. I do believe it's worth it for certain circumstances. Happy 2021, and may everyone have a great (better) new year! read more

Yelp did not steer me wrong this time! I finally had to bite the bullet and go to the optometrist because my 20/20 wasn't 20/20ing any more. When I tell you the ladies at Cooper Optometry are like Disney characters I promise you I am not being dramatic. When you walk in the office everyone is so kind it's almost weird. There were only 3 other ladies besides Dr. Cooper but gheesh everyone was so kind and patient. I had to get my first pair of glasses (at 42) and when I tell you the patience (I can't think of her name SORRY!) that she had was so calming in a scary situation. I didn't feel rushed at all and she even gave me her honest opinions on frames that she thought fit my face. They are really doing it right at Cooper Optometry, from the doctor to the receptionist and I promise you won't be disappointed. I recently moved to Santa Monica and made the decision that no matter where I move next I will come to Santa Monica for their service. Good customer service means so much to me and their service is BEYOND! read more

I have seen both Dr. Cooper and Dr. Chung and they are both incredible. They both remember personal facts and details of my life. They are both very personable. Scheduling is a breeze and I always get seen right on time. I also like that there's never a ton of other people in the office when I'm there so I feel like I get a lot of individual attention. They explain everything they are doing and always make me feel comfortable. The office is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. When I had laser eye surgery Dr. Cooper gave me her personal cell phone number to call in case there were any problems or issues. I didn't end up using it but that's above and beyond! read more

Friendly and professional office and doctor I have been coming to for years. Dr Tran and the Coopers are and have been fantastic. Equipment and procedures for checking eye health have evolved and been updated. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a kind, compassionate and helpful eye doctor. read more

Just got back from my appointment with Dr. Cooper. Hands down, the best eye exam experience I have ever had! Completely professional office with very state of the art equipment. Highly recommend! My wife and I came here to get our eyes tested and buy new glasses. Dr. Cooper and her staff could not be any nicer or more professional. And in addition to the office being clean and in a great location, they have all the latest tech. We did not have to get our eyes dilated. Instead they have an eye scan which is painless, quick and easy - and it's very cool to see up close the digital photos of your eyes. They stock a very nice collection of glasses too - we got some really cool ones. read more

The team here is kind, organized, has very modern equipment and amazing about educating me throughout the experience both as far as my eye health but then also transparency around insurance and pricing. Would def recommend! read more

Great optometry practice. Dr. Cooper and her staff are all very kind and knowledgeable. I look forward to visiting once a year for my checkup. read more

I don't know where you're going for your eyesight needs, but Cooper Optometry is unparalleled in my opinion. And I've been to several over the years. Dr. Cooper herself is focused on each patient, provides excellent insight and options to vision issues and her team - OMG. 3 staff work harmoniously in a relatively small space and are fun and SO HELPFUL. I'll follow this team anywhere!!! read more

Visited twice for me and my partner. Great experience with Dr. Chung, Anabelle, and Brandon.

Big Thank You to the doctors and team at Cooper Optometry. Courteous, prompt and highly competent. I trust them with my eyes and so should you. Thank you Cooper Optometry! read more

Dr. Cooper is one of the best optometrists I've seen. She was able to help improve my eyesight more than the doctors at Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Cooper is thorough, takes the time to listen and explain all the options to you, and very helpful with referrals. If you're tired of run-of-the-mill optometrists, I'd give Dr. Cooper a try. read more

I recently had my annual eye check up with Dr. Cooper. I'm no longer working or living in LA but rather commuting in from Palm Desert to see Dr. Cooper. It's not at all convenient but I do it because she's friendly and kind, she's thorough and explains what she's doing, and I trust her because she is genuinely excited to make sure her patients eyes are healthy and to help them see better. read more

Scheduling my appointment was so easy, and the ladies at Cooper Optometry are amazing!! I went for an eye exam, came back twice after to drop off my frames/pick them up, and, every time, the process was a breeze. Everyone is so pleasant and understanding, and I feel so comfortable asking any questions I have. They truly make me feel heard and confident about every step of the process! read more

Nothing but great things to say about Dr. Cooper and this practice! 1. SUPER easy to book appointments. You request online and find an appropriate slot, request a slot, and confirm it. Plenty of availability (even Saturday morning!) 2. It's in a large medical building on the 5th floor. Street parking is relatively easy to find in my experience. 3. The office is clean, nicely decorated and well-managed. The receptionist was super warm and welcoming and had already looked up my insurance information prior to me arriving which made things smooth and easy! I was seen quickly for my appointment slot. 4. Dr. Cooper herself is warm and engaging and very good at what she does. Anyone who has regular optometrist appointments knows they can be a little tedious and uncomfortable in some cases but she has a wonderful energy and explains everything she does. Overall a wonderful visit- very sad it will be my only one as I'm moving away from the area but I recommend her highly! read more

What a special place. Dr. Tran conducted my exam. Vanessa helped with additional tests. The office is bright, cheery, and organized. Emma helped me find glasses, and she did a great job! Great customer service. Note that prescription lenses have a high markup. But my health care FSA covered the cost and I wanted to spend this money locally. Cooper Optometry proudly participates in the Buy Local Santa Monica program and the Most Loved annual competition. read more

Great! No complaints at all! Yelp reviews = accurate. Booking appointment = super easy. Appointment = perfect. read more

Very easy in and out, no wait if you make an appointment, which I found was great! Doctor has good expertise. 4 stars instead of 5 is that I didn't get much understanding/explanation on what offers there are for buying contacts through their office and I ended up buying on my own through 1-800 contacts. Other than that, it's a good office and I recommend! read more

Dr. Cooper communicates effectively and is very knowledgeable. She provided me all my options for contacts/glasses as well as eye exams/ contact lens exams/ retina scans in a clear way. The staff was also helpful in navigating my insurance. I've tried a few eye doctors in this area and most of them try to push their "special exams" / eye products. Cooper Optometry is one of the few places that didn't. They're honest and trustworthy. read more

Loved my experience here. Great staff. Warm and inviting office. The doctors here take their time with you. She really listened to me and we dialed in a perfect prescription! read more

A few months ago, my adorable, loving cat catcidentally scratched my eye. (Horrible pun, I apologize). Dr. Donna saw me as soon as she could on an emergency basis, and despite my jitters dealing with eye issues, she handled it professionally, kindly, fun and well. I felt confident with her medical diagnosis and opinion. I had always meant to write a yelp review, and life got busy. I didn't. Shame on me. Now, a silly eye problem happened again. Without skipping a beat, upon calling that I had sudden blurry vision after being at the beach all weekend, Dr. Donna scheduled me for her last appointment of the day, just to make sure my eye was okay. On the day before her vacation. Quick check up. Quick diagnosis. Great office friendliness. She won't steer you wrong. If you're new to the area and looking for a new optometrist, or looking to change optometrists, seriously....look no further. read more

No better time to have a major allergic reaction in your eyes than quarantine, right? Dr. Cooper not only communicated with me directly through text to find the soonest and safest time to meet 1-1 in her office for an emergency visit (I was in within an hour!), but continued to support me at home going to bat with my general physician who didn't want to prescribe me what she recommended and gave me alternative medication in the meantime. When my eyes flared up again a few weeks later, she was still there to talk me through next steps over the phone. She personally went above and beyond in this crazy time. So knowledgeable, so supportive and so kind. If you need an eye doctor in Santa Monica, I highly recommend Dr. Cooper! read more

Donna is fantastic. Upbeat, young, professional, skilled.. a real upgrade from the prior practice. Can't recommend highly enough.

I found my New Favorite Optometrist, after a few years of searching and trying out lots of Doctors. Was recommended by my brother who has also been searching for a new office; he found them via yelp and then referred me. Had the most comprehensive eye exam ever, this was my first time with her and she mentioned conditions that no other Doctor had mentioned before. She is super friendly, takes great attention to detail and is uber patient explaining what's going; he love and passion for her career are definitely apparent. Will be see Dr. Donna Cooper and he team yearly from now on. Thanks again read more

If I could give Dr. Cooper 10 stars I would! I've been wearing glasses since I was 8 years old, and Dr. Cooper is the best optometrist I've ever seen. I followed her from Santa Monica Eye to her own practice. I would say Dr. Cooper is one part genius, one part Mother Theresa, and one part your best friend. She is very smart, so thoughtful and patient, and incredibly easy to talk to. She cares so much about each patient's well-being and really takes the time to get to know you. Also, the location is very convenient and I've never had a problem finding street parking right outside the building. If you're looking for an optometrist, I can't recommend Dr. Cooper any more. Go see her! read more

I got some bad eyes. I think I was born with them like this. Well, maybe it was reading in the dark and sitting too close to the TV. Whatever. YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN RIGHT, MOM. I've been to A LOT of optometrists in my time and Dr. Cooper takes the cake! She is so patient and has the best "bedside manner". She truly cares about the well being of your eyes, even if you don't. Case in point, I confessed one of my deepest, darkest secrets to her...I sleep with my contacts in sometimes. She suggested contacts that would help me break my bad habits and talked me through exactly how much a year supply would cost and my options for rebates. She's #dabes. Also, she has a very, very cute son! +infinitypoints read more

Dr. Cooper is the best optometrist I've been to in the past 13 years. She is professional, patient, warm and thorough. She spotted things no other optometrist has, explained every step of the exam and gave me plenty of opportunities to ask questions and be involved in my checkup. Overall, I left feeling like I could not be more assured that the health of my eyes was in good hands, and that my concerns about my vision health were heard. I would also add that her office is in a nice location, easily accessible in Santa Monica. Her staff are fantastic and a pleasure to interact with. Her equipment and methods are well-maintained and state of the art. I highly recommend anyone looking for a new eye doctor make an appointment and be seen! read more

I just had my eye exam with Dr. Cooper today and it was (yet again) another amazing experience. Finding a good eye doctor is always a challenge (I equate it to finding the right hairdresser), but I feel like I hit the jackpot with Cooper Optometry. The experience start to finish is unbelievable. I booked my appointment online with ease (and had great text notifications subsequent to booking), the team is so incredibly warm and kind when you walk in, the appointment windows are always respected (literally I sat down for maybe 15?30? seconds before they were bringing me back..), the technology is top-notch, the office is unbelievably clean, and Dr. Cooper is so knowledgeable and helpful. One thing that I love about her is how she explains everything in such an easy-to-understand manner and honestly I just love to chat with her - haha...I could go on and on. I could not ask for a better experience! They truly are top notch! I've been to three different eye doctors in the LA area and honestly they don't even remotely compare to the level of service I've received here. read more

Dr. Cooper is the most professional and thorough optometrist I've ever been to. Very kind with a lovely demeanor. I followed Dr. Cooper to her new practice because she's the best! If you're looking for a new optometrist, I definitely recommend checking her out. She's extremely professional, knowledgeable, super friendly and chill. She does fill up quickly, so make sure to make an appointment with her couple weeks in advance! I "suffer" from allergy bubbles on my lids, so Dr. Cooper recommended a hydrogen peroxide solution to help cleanse my contact lenses even more than the usual contact solution. Since using it, I can totally feel a difference in my eyesight! Side note: try to find street parking, which isn't hard to find, because they do not validate parking. read more

Loved Dr. Cooper and staff. Very thorough and professional, but kind and warm. I'm super happy with my exam and results.

Dr. Cooper is the BEST! I went to see her last week to get new contacts! I had been walking around with (much) less than perfect eyesight for the the last year because I absolutely hated the old contacts I had and I lost my glasses. Plus, I moved here from FL and just never got around to finding a new eye doctor- I can be really picky about new doctors... so it takes some time and a lot of research for me to go see someone. Anyway, my friend at work recommended her to me and I am SO SO SO glad I went. She was so sweet and knowledgeable and spent A LOT (I mean... A LOT) of time with me finding the perfect contact lenses! I have to say I've never been more excited about putting things in eyes! Thanks to Dr. Cooper I can now read street signs, sales signs, menus, and the like, from afar! I love it. She also helped me with my eye allergies and just was so informative and helpful! Can't say enough good things about her! :) read more
