Dr. Cooper is the BEST! I went to see her last week to get new contacts! I had been walking around with (much) less than perfect eyesight for the the last year because I absolutely hated the old contacts I had and I lost my glasses. Plus, I moved here from FL and just never got around to finding a new eye doctor- I can be really picky about new doctors... so it takes some time and a lot of research for me to go see someone. Anyway, my friend at work recommended her to me and I am SO SO SO glad I went. She was so sweet and knowledgeable and spent A LOT (I mean... A LOT) of time with me finding the perfect contact lenses! I have to say I've never been more excited about putting things in eyes! Thanks to Dr. Cooper I can now read street signs, sales signs, menus, and the like, from afar! I love it. From start to finish, I had an exceptional experience at Cooper Optometry with Dr. Tran and staff. I was able to get an appointment as a new patient right away with clear communication and instructions from the front desk staff regarding COVID precautions, including filling out paperwork digitally. I arrived and felt very safe with the new measures, including everyone wearing a mask and sanitizing the machines, chair and devices before my use. Dr. Tran wore a face shield and mask the entire time. I was also pleased with how Dr. Tran explained every step of the exam and gave me the details I needed to make an informed decision about having an additional test. After ordering my contacts (and taking advantage of the rebate offered) I received print outs of both my scripts. After a few days in my new contacts, I felt something was off, so I called to to get a small adjustment on my contact script and her staff could not have been more understanding and communicative regarding finalizing a new script, reordering the correct contact lenses and sending me a digital copy of the new script. I am not one who writes reviews on the norm, however when I receive such amazing care it warrants one. I had a contact fitting like 8mo ago, the Dr was SOOOOO thorough. I felt like I really got my moneys worth. She gave me 2 different types of contacts to try. I was suppose to follow up in a month and decide which pair I liked. Well, naturally I didnt follow up. Fast foward 7months later, I call to just order contacts, I liked both pairs so just went with what my ins covered. They would not accept this, they are giving me another set of BOTH contacts to try again to be sure I am truly happy with the ones I want. This was my mess up by not following up and this office is basically saying "hey, we arent allowing you to just pick whatever, lets be sure your happy and start over, " They are doing this at no cost to me. Its rare you find this type of care in todays world. The front desk, I think her name was Andrea, ugh I hate that I dont recall her name, but she was simply amazing and so kind. She took her time during my appointment to throughly review everything and go over options with my insurance and made sure I got the best bang for my buck! I recently visited Dr. Cooper to get my eyes checked after struggling with some eye strain and I'm a patient for life! Right out of the gate, the experience was great. The receptionist really listened to the difficulty I was having and got me in for an appointment the same day. Dr. Cooper is professional, patient and made me feel very comfortable. She explained every test that she did and how each one would help her identify the potential cause of my eye strain and dizziness. She's extremely knowledgable and I really appreciated the time she took with me. I never felt rushed. I've always been very happy with the care and service provided at this facility, and I've been especially pleased with Dr Cooper's kind, communicative nature. I always feel that I'm treated with individual attention, encouraged to ask questions, and feel well informed about treatment options. I've recently decided to pursue lasik eye surgery and Dr Cooper provided me with a wealth of literature and several personal recommendations. Both my partner and I have been going to Dr. Cooper for the past several years and we highly recommend her! She is very professional yet very personable and caring. These days I feel like doctors just want to go through all their patients as fast as possible and they seem very robotic and apathetic. But, with Dr. Cooper you don't feel rushed and she makes it a priority to answer all your questions and concerns. She makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. All the eye testing/procedures/machines seem very up to date. The office is in a good location. Safe and clean! My 5-year-old daughter had some problems with the vision screening at her pediatric check-up. So I found Dr. Cooper though Yelp and am so glad I did. She made sure my daughter was comfortable throughout the visit and did a great job of answering my questions. To be honest I was a bit nervous (I've never needed glasses and didn't know what to expect) but by the end of it we were all excited to pick out a cute pair of frames. Also, Dr. Cooper is a real patient advocate. When there were delays with my daughter's glasses she contacted the supplier and negotiated a free additional pair of lenses. Dr. Cooper is awesome! I'm really impressed with all aspects of her service. She put me at ease, made me feel at home, and handled the bustle of many patients visiting with professionalism. My prescription is by far the best I've had. I was impressed that, during our exam, she verified that I was consistent in reporting visual acuity with different adjustments ("better 1 or 2?"). She was also very detailed and helpful - she humored my questions about how each adjustment differed in magnification power or astigmatism. That's pretty rare in my experience. read more

Dr. Cooper is a find! I was relatively new to Los Angeles and needed a new eye doctor. I was referred to Dr. Cooper by a co-worker who had visited her a few months earlier and who spoke very highly of her. After my experience, without a moment's hesitation I would wholeheartedly recommend her if you're looking for a new optometrist! My eyesight isn't too bad, but I was in need of a routine check-up and some new glasses to replace the ones I lost in an unfortunate camping accident earlier in the month. At my co-worker's urging, I called Dr. Cooper's office and made an appointment for a time that fit conveniently with my work schedule. From the moment I walked in, Dr. Cooper was great. She was very friendly and put me to ease with her professionalism as we walked through the various eye exercises and used the different machines to get a good reading. I can't emphasize enough how easy and painless working with Dr. Cooper was. She answered all of my questions, and was legitimately interested in learning about the different ways she might be able to help my sight both in my work (I work at a marketing agency and use the computer a lot), or outside of the office - on any future camping trips, etc. When it was time, she helped me pick out some cool new frames, and explained all of the pros/cons of the various lens additions (UV protection, etc.). I got my glasses a couple weeks later, they fit great, and my prescription was spot on! My vision is crystal clear, and I'm able to spend all day staring at my screen without getting any headaches or fatigue. All in all, if you're looking for an eye doctor who's both knowledgeable and professional, and whose office is able to provide a first-rate, pleasant experience, you HAVE to visit Dr. Cooper at least once. I have very sensitive eyes, and do not adjust easily to new prescriptions, so if the prescription is off by just the slightest margin, I do not do well with it. This used to be a constant frustration for me. I went through many ophthalmologists and optometrists, and had constant problems getting exactly what I needed. That was until I was referred by an eyeglass store that I trust to go see Dr. Cooper. Dr. Cooper was a real find, thorough, knowledgeable, and extremely nice to work with. Because it takes me so long to acclimate to a new prescription, I sometimes have issues in the beginning, but luckily, I could not have found a more accommodating doctor. Dr. Cooper is - hands down - the best Optometrist I've seen in California. I'd had such an unfortunate experience with my former OD's office in Culver City after a few years that I was ready for a change. She's one of the best-rated Optometrists near me in Santa Monica that took my VSP eye insurance. The building she's in is easily accessible on Wilshire and there is plenty of free street parking on Harvard. She's pretty popular in the area so she can get a little booked up for a couple of weeks out but I didn't mind the wait since I made sure to book my appointment a good amount of time before my trip (and before I ran out of contacts!). In my eye exam, she took the time to answer all of my questions... allllll of them. I'm hoping to have LASIK done soon and Dr. Cooper told me everything I need to know about it before referring me to one of the specialists she often works with. With her, I never felt rushed like I do at other doctors' offices. Out of all of the eye doctors I've been seen by in my life, Dr. Cooper seemed to genuinely care the most about the health of my eyes. It's never a file-them-in-and-out type of doctor's office when I'm there. She's very patient, friendly, and willing to go above and beyond to make sure her patients are taken care of - a quality I wish I saw more of in any medical professional. It's not just a job to her. She makes it a point to make sure my eyes are in the best shape. With that said... you can rest easy knowing that the health of your eyes is in the caring hands of Dr. Cooper!
