What's the point of having a time be 9 o'clock and they decide to close 15 minutes early. I can already tell that the GM's aren't happy about that 15 minutes early. I was not a fan of the food here. Although the chicken is tasty, we literally ordered a plate which pictured chicken with rice and broccoli and got breaded chicken and rice with no vegetables at all. The food was delivered quickly. The 2-Entree Aloha Plate was huge (I'm 200lbs and can eat my fair share), salad was fresh, rice was perfectly cooked and the sauce on the meats was tasty. We used to live down the street from here and have always loved eating here. Everything is made fresh daily here. So since our move to NE Mesa we don't come as often we just happened to be over on this side of town and decided to come in and grab some dinner to take home. We got the pork and beef it came with salad and steamed rice. I loved the beef it was soft, in bite size pieces, tender and the sauce it was cooked in had just the right amount of kick to it. Now the pork had a nice evenly balance of smokey flavor to it but I wish it had been cooked in a sauce also. Anyways the customer service was great, they had a good system of working together well and the restaurant itself was all around clean I've never had a bad experience here. read more

I'm updating my review because it's been years. This location has been inconsistent with portion size. I usually share a plate with my daughter. Sometimes it's a ton of food, sometimes it's a couple pieces of chicken. We generally order the katsu (my daughters favorite) but sometimes we get the combo which includes teriyaki & katsu chicken. Comes with rice, Mac salad and steamed veggies. My husband always gets the kalbi. Sometimes the pieces are super small, barely any meat on it. The main reason I deducted a star was based on service. I always order online and they have a "dedicated line" for online orders. Great! No, not great. I'm always standing there looking like a damn idiot, not being helped. Seriously, why have a line for people who have paid and ordered ahead of time when I simply could just stand in the same line as people ordering? Then I get up to the counter and almost always the cashier seems to have an attitude. How do you have Hawaiian in the name of your business but show zero aloha spirit? This is the worst Hawaiian food I've ever had. I could have purchased the terriyaki chicken and beef from Panda Express for less and I would have had bigger portions for $3.00 less. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and beef plate. Small portions with cabbage under the meat to make it look like you got more. Way too dry and salty. Horrible waste of money. Love coming here and getting my little taste of a Hawaii! I usually get the teriyaki chicken and white fish. That comes with steamed vegetables, rice and macaroni salad. Yummy! The cashier today was very nice and helpful. Inside the restaurant on the side area is the teriyaki sauce counter, cups and utensils. I used the teriyaki station and the pump was stuck. I went to have a bite to eat and immediately got a refund once I went to get some condiments and this fella was on the floor in front of them and the drinks. The manager wasn't even there when this happened and an employee had to call for help on my refund. The employees didn't even know the mouse was there until I told them. Sadly no one even bothered to remove it as other consumers saw it too. I called corporate headquarters as this is a food, health, and safety concern and sent them these pictures too. I don't usually leave reviews, but no one should experience this buying food. I pray no one ends up sick and the health department investigates. I would give zero stars if I could. We got the Aloha plate to go and to be frank, I think the price is very reasonable for a portion like this with so many options of food and extra veggies and white rice. To me a plate like this is always a go-for. The Fire Chicken tastes amazing and I mean it, amazing! I love how they marinated these small pieces of chicken first to make them so rich with sauces. It's very Asian kind of subtle salty&sweet taste plus a bit of spice to it. That triple layers of taste is nothing but miraculous! Two bites and Honolulu is calling me! (I assume this is authentic since I haven't been to Hawaii before LOL) Fried fish is stardard-wise good for how beautiful it looks. I mean just look at this fine square piece of fish meat....Mmmm I think my relative Uncle Roger is going to "Fuyoo" this a lot! I really had a good experience in food being served at this place and I like the environment in this small neat place too. Love that they offer a self-service counter for as many sauces as you want to have. It's very friendly for to-go orders. Highly recommend the Kalbi, island fire chicken, Chicken / Shrimp Katsu They recently remodeled the restaurant so it looks really hip and modern now. I would say that this location looks busy at most times of the day. We got our freshly cooked food within a few minutes of waiting. The dishes were loaded loaded rice, meat, and vegetables. MUST COME!!! This place is SO GOOD!! The decorations are very nice inside. The restaurant is very clean and the bathroom is clean. The customer service was phenomenal! They were explaining the menus well and were very patient with us even though they were busy. Kalbi Short Ribs: I LOVE THIS DISH! This one is my favorite! It is cooked perfectly and sauced very well. There are vegetables under the short ribs. The rice is soo tasty! I cannot think of a way to improve on this because it is so perfect! Chicken Katsu: This is perfect for crispy chicken lovers because you will not be disappointed!! We wish we got more!! We brought the extra food back home and it was still amazing! Every time I come to this place the food has never failed me. I always get the teriyaki chicken plate which brings a big variety of delicious food. As of today, I have gotten out of my comfort zone and decided to try a new plate called the beef and chicken combo. I would make this plate equivalent to my usual. It brought a big variety of tasty food with a large fountain drink. Now the only downside I would have to say about this location is they have everything set out for you to grab whatever you need except for napkins. Alongside with not so sanitary bathrooms.
