Sadly there aren't many poké spots left in Gilbert, but grateful Ahipoki is still nearby. I've been here a couple of times now. My go-to is the poké bowl with two proteins. I usually order half brown rice, half salad and choose a combo of spicy tuna, tuna, and/or salmon for my protein. Then I load it up seaweed salad, edamame, cucumbers, and more. Finally top it with their house sauce. Each visit, the poké has been fresh, and the portions are generous. The service is both quick and friendly. The space is clean, relaxed, and provides ample seating. We will definitely be back for our next poké craving. read more

We went to this location to have lunch. Long story short. Rice was by far the worst I ever had! I took my bowl to the manager and showed her how bad the rice was. I told her it sticks together almost like mash potatoes. It was unacceptable! She kept making excuses about the rice maker and how it operates and sometimes it comes out a certain way blah, blah, blah.There should be no excuse. The rice is the most important thing that has to be done right! She seemed like she didnt care one bit! I dont think we got our money back because she was clueless on the POS system. She was like you should be getting your money back and gives us a receipt but it didn't say refund, just the ticket where we paid(see below). She never said, ok, I'll have to make new rice or anything. I look back and notice she didnt even change the rice, she was chopping some veggies and went on about her day. I even told her people will complain to you and instead of making poke,she will end up giving refunds all day. Not one care! She is not fit for the job. I took a video but on here only allows pictures but not video, but the video looked alot worse than my picture.Not to mention, not even an hour later, I had really bad stomach ache, you name it, the runs! Not going back here ever again and if I do, is to get our refund! I worked in the food industry and let me tell you, they have the wrong people working behind that counter or they need better rice cookers cause those look like dinosaurs.This is why these franchises don't do well and end up closing.Customers stop coming because food isn't consistent. I came here a couple days ago, and noticed a very manly looking lady, sitting in the lobby , I believe it was their manager I'm not sure, She was the only one without a hat so I'm assuming. I've seen her at the other location in Queen Creek before as well, I was in the line, and another girl working there said her name, and she completely ignored her and seemed to be extremely rude. This isn't something I usually care too much about, but I've just noticed every time I see her working her employees look miserable and thought maybe other people might recognize this as well. I worked in the food industry for a while , and I know how frustrating it can be to work with a boss that watches you work and will not do anything. A little history- The Ahipoki concept was born out of the desire of a restaurant group wanting to bring a much needed health conscious approach for their customers. It's an inspired seafood restaurant with a south pacific flare.. You also have the option of calling ahead to place a order to go and enjoy poke on the run! Arrive about 2:00 PM just a few patrons dining in and a few tickets were being processed for "pick up" by grub hub which gave me a few minutes to look over the menu. Took notice of how clean the restaurant was and how organized the process was going to be as well. Ordered the two scoop with white rice and organic greens. At an additional fee of $1.50 got avocado as well. Honestly, wasn't a fan as it was more guacamole than sliced avocado. Fish- went with ahi tuna and spicy tuna. Both were delicious along with fresh cucumber slices, red onion, wasabi, ginger, seaweed salad and drizzled with eel sauce, spicy cream sauce & garlic soy mirin. With tax and tip about $16! Standard poke place. Nothing special or unusual. Fish is always cut and deboned well. I appreciate that. I will add that for the price I wish they would give a consistent full scoop of the fish. Each time I have gone the scoop is subpar. If fish falls out, it isn't added again. I recommend this place if you're not looking to cook and don't mind spending the money. Was overall very disappointed by the price to protein portion amount ratio. The portion itself looks somewhat decent until you realize it's mostly rice. The fish portions are painfully small. Even the crab mixture they give you is small. I'm comparing this location to Pokitrition and Poke Hale, which are my normal go-to's, although a bit farther of a drive. Price is pretty high for the amount of poki you get. I ordered through grub hub online and received confirmation shortly after. My husband went to pick it up so I can't say how the service was. I loved that because I ordered online they put the poki in a separate container and it does not start to cook. The flavor was delicious and I will say that the regular was just the perfect amount for me. I didn't have to pay extra for the sides I got but there wasn't much on top of my rice as you can see in the picture. I got edamame, masago, crispy onions, cucumbers, seaweed salad to go with the ahi and spicy tuna combo. No call or notice they just decided to only put 2 regular proteins of regular tuna and skipped the 3rd. Had they called I would have asked to change out the spicy tuna for yellowtail or something else. This is the way they are though. And when a complaint is put into them...nothing. Could care less. I cannot say the same when I eat at sushi buffet places, where I rarely feel good after eating. Feeling bad after eating sushi is a sign of low grade sushi and/or health/hygience practices.
