The food was on point for fast food Hawaiian. Won't lie it hit the spot. The service not so much.

I've been to this location a few times, normally good/decent. But this time I was greeted with card holder no hi or hello. Got home and saw this hair in food. Gross read more

Came here with a friend for lunch while her vehicle was getting an oil change at Earnhardt Hyundai. We both got a combo that had teriyaki chicken, white rice, a cabbage salad, crab rangoons, & a large drink. The meal was really good with the exception of the salad. I wasn't very crazy about it but at least I tried it. They have Coke products, which anyone who knows me knows that right there scores big points with me since Coke Zero is my drink of choice. The customer service here is very good. Employees are happy & helpful & take pride in their work. The ambiance is bright & colorful as well as clean & inviting. I'll be a repeat customer when I'm in the area. read more

ONO? O-YES! It's slow livin on the island of Hawaii, but Ono Hawaiian BBQ is fast food island-style. You won't see workers dressed in grass skirts and coconuts; that would be a safety hazard and numerous lawsuits waiting to happen. However, the food does not disappoint as it is always fresh and flavorful. I appreciate that it is not the typical burger and fries joint. Yet the food can be enjoyed by all. Definitely a place that is good for families because they have items like Teriyaki Chicken, Crispy Shrimp and Pork Katsu that are all crowd-pleasers. Salad with the Sesame Ginger dressing is so simple yet refreshing. If you haven't had the macaroni salad, then you are missing out because it is a staple on the island and it is done right here on the mainland. This place even has a drive thru. Order ahead online and pick up so you don't have to drag the family out of the car. Unlike Yoko Ono, Ono Hawaiian BBQ makes you want to come back for more. Ono lives up to it's Hawaiian meaning, '"delicious, tasty, savory; to relish, crave; deliciousness, flavor, savor' Ono will have you saying 'Oh Yes!' read more

Grabbed dinner from Ono Hawaiian BBQ and the food was great, but the service was pretty rough. It was a Friday night and they seemed really understaffed -- there was no sense of urgency. I ordered online and got a notification that my meal was ready, but still had to wait another 20 minutes when I arrived. It's a shame because the food hit the spot; hopefully they can improve the service to match the quality of the food. read more

Please allow yourself max amount of time to wait for the food. Not sure if they're under-staffed. However, the wait is very long. Longer than you'd expect. read more

If you're looking for a solid Hawaiian comfort food fix, Ono Hawaiian BBQ really delivers! I got the BBQ Chicken plate, and everything hit just right! The chicken was tender, juicy, and had that delicious smoky-charred flavor that pairs perfectly with the sweet-savory sauce. The rice was sticky and fluffy--just how I like it--and I added some extra sauce on top (always add extra sauce) for that flavor boost. And the mac salad? Creamy, cool, and super satisfying (who knew that Mac salad would go with this). It balanced the plate beautifully. Generous portions, fast service, and consistently good food. Whether you're new to Hawaiian BBQ or it's your go-to, Ono always brings that aloha flavor, and it's always on point. 100%. Highly recommend if you're craving something hearty, tasty, and quick! Will definitely be back for another plate soon! Mahalo, Ono Hawaiian! read more

Food is always spot on! However, they really need to step up their customer service. Hire people that are friendly and have a good attitude. 30 minute wait on food is ridiculous. Hire more people. read more

Worker with a sleeve on her right arm was honestly just unprofessional. Wasn't very kind. Called out my order and gave it to another guy. She proceeded to try to give me the wrong order and when i told her hey thats not mine im a different number she goes "it's the chicken katsu, do you not want the mac" nope thats why i ordered with no mac. Proceeded to grab it and give it back to the ppl to remake. No sorry. Nothing. Gets it right, brings it out and just says "here's that chicken katsu" and just left it on the counter. No eye contact, no have a good day. If you're going to have people in the front at least make them seem like they don't hate their lives. Food is always good here tho. Ass service read more

Regularly order the BBQ and Katsu Mix through the drive thru. On two separate occasions, we were okayed the order, and after a while of waiting, the worker comes up to the window with a bag and what is supposed to be our food, and asks us if it's okay that the non katsu meat were replaced. Since we already ordered it we just went along with it, but found that they removed two meats and replaced them with only one extra set of katsu. Extremely disingenuous when they could've just made sure they had the meats on hand for the BBQ and Katsu Mix in the first place. Not to mention that they raised the price of it recently and fibbed on the contents more than once. Would not recommend ordering at this location unless you are thorough and expect to be disappointed. read more

Unfortunately, anytime i've ever come here, it takes forever to get my order. Line does not have to be long, but still expect a long wait time. It's quite ridiculous actually. I've waited 30+ minutes in drive thru for 2 lunch plates. I wish i could leave a lower review. read more

I'm a little concerned that this place is going to slide downhill rapidly. The restaurant has always been pretty iffy on service and ambience. There's items you can't order on the drive through, which is really annoying, and staff have a pretty clear "not my problem" attitude. The lobby is loud boring music, usually sticky, and has uncomfortable seating. The kind of place I prefer to drive through! Not dine in. But now their menu has changed for the worse. Their house dressing and salad was the best thing in the menu. I would buy that dressing in bulk if I could. They don't have that dressing anymore. Now their dressing is some generic salty sweet soy and sesame mixture. And the salad is generic spring mix you can buy at Walmart with sesame seeds. The salad went from great to I would not want to eat it twice. And the island fire chicken went downhill too. Serving size cut in half, and is now mostly Onion not chicken. These are the signs of a place in decline and desperate to increase profit at the expense of quality. Good luck. I'll probably shift my attention to other Hawaiian bbq places now. read more

We ordered food and we were told what we ordered had a 10-15 minutes wait time. That's not a problem as they were upfront about it. My wife was starving so I told the lady we would order crab Rangoon as an appetizer while we wait for our food. We sat down after ordering. I asked about the crab Rangoon and they said it would take the longest. I said I had ordered it so we had something while we waited. I was told by the lady that it was not her problem and there was nothing she could do about it. read more

My bf and I came here yesterday for lunch. I had the chicken and beef combo which came with the macaroni salad, rice, and veggies. Sooo good! My bf had the katsu plate with beef, rice, and veggies. Probably the worst Hawaiian BBQ I've ever had. Ordered chicken teriyaki, with chicken breast meat, and all white rice. I asked for vegetables as well, as the meal comes with them. Well, 20 minutes wait to get the food. After I noticed others that ordered after me were receiving their food, with multiple people parties, I went up to the front desk and asked about my order number. They said it still had another 3 minute wait for my chicken breast. Interesting... Finally received my order and the chicken breast looked almost uncooked. It was rubbery and fatty. Maybe I'm just dumb, but I've never had a fatty piece of chicken breast. That's literally why I order chicken breast! It was gross. The food looked and tasted very "rushed". The rice was good. But they never gave me vegetables. Yeah, I'm never going back here. Worst hawaiian bbq spot I've ever had. read more

Had to place my order 3 times. Still got it wrong. Looked baffled when I asked for the plate lunches. Waited for 15 minutes only to find out they "remade" the food. Guess what? Now I have 3 orders. All wrong. I left BTW many year customer says adios read more

Who doesn't like a good plate lunch?? We ordered takeout from Ono before and really like how they cook their chicken and kalbi! We had recently come by for pick up from over the weekend and placed it. We did have to wait an additional 10 minutes for our pick-up, but the wait wasn't too bad, and they were very busy. The mac salad is fairly decent, but the chicken is so good. Either way, this location seems to have become more busy, so prepare for that read more

Ono Hawaiian BBQ Celebrates its 98th Store with the Opening of its Newest Ground-Up Location in Gilbert, AZ The food & service was top notch! Atmosphere was clean, opening & bright. Greeted by two sweet staff members right as I walked in. Served with a smile & great conversations while I waited for my meal. Took it as a "to go" order. There were a few diners inside the restaurant & noticed the drive thru was packed. Had the Island Fire Chicken which is chicken slices marinated in their special blend of spices, then grilled with onions and tossed with their spicy Island Fire Sauce. It was fire LOL. Included with this meal is two generous scoops of white rice a delicious macaroni salad and choice of a side-which I went the Crab Rangoon (3 pcs) Faux crab meat and cream cheese in crispy wonton skins. They were good especially with their signature dipping sauce. Side counter has plenary or options for the grabbing! Ono's teriyaki & Katsu sauces, soy sauce, sriracha and more! Ono Hawaiian BBQ is a family-owned. Love to support these types or business. Will definitely be back! read more

Horrible food and service. Two of us got sick after eating there. The chicken was way overcooked cold rice it was bad. Put an online order in picked up at the time it said and my food had not even good started waited almost an hour for our food. Every one in there was complaining and some asked for a rerun and Left. None of the employees seemed to have a clue what they doing. We will not be going back. read more

I would give a big fat zero or no star at all if could.... Went the drive thru and waited 30 minutes for our order. Not once did the employee come to window to give us an update. While sitting at the window we can see all these people picking up for Door Dash, Uber etc.... We went through the drive thru because we didn't have time to sit and eat. If restaurants put online orders over everything else and help the people in the restaurant first, maybe they should dhutdown the drive through. As for our food, it was already cold when we got it. Never will visit any "Ono Hawaiian BBQ" again. In all honesty the food taste more like Chinese base than it is Hawaiian local food. It's been years since I've eaten here and now I remember why. So sad............ read more

The first thing I noticed was good music and the beautiful diversity of the customers. I was warmly greated, and the menu and customer favorites were explained to me. Enjoying variety, I decided on a the #4 Plate. The mix of grilled beef, chicken, and ribs with a side salad was a great way to sample a few things at once. Great choice. I went to Ono Hawaiian BBQ recently and had such an uncomfortable experience. The guy working the drive thru was rude and kept calling me "lady" in this really dismissive tone. It was "15 dollars, lady" and "here's your food, lady" the entire time. It felt condescending and honestly inappropriate. Instead of a friendly interaction, I felt talked down to and just... uncomfortable. Definitely not the vibe you expect when you're grabbing food. I hope management addresses it because it really took away from the experience. read more

Ono? More like OH-NO! I pass by this place every time I take my fosters to the vet. Tonight I decided to try it. Such a disappointment from ordering to eating. The gentleman who took my order was very short with me and seemed annoyed by my simple order of "Teriyaki Chicken" extra sauce on side. Pulled up to the window. Gentleman was playing on laptop. Couldn't tell if it was actual work. A girl came to the window and asked if I wanted any sauces, which was great. She handed them to me and walked away. I kept glancing inside, as I was waiting a bit. I made eye contact with the girl, who seemed to be annoyed by it and walked over to the window, which I thought she was bringing my food at the point. She said, "Oh it's not ready yet, pull around and park" very snooty and walked away. Got my food-didn't really smell great. Got home to eat and the food looked disgusting. Didn't look like chicken-looked like something fake. Just didn't look right. No vegetable, except a leaf of cabbage underneath the chicken. It showed broccoli on the picture. Rice was great, and sauce was okay. The "chicken" tasted disgusting and full of fat and who knows what. I should have kept driving. I shouldn't have wasted $14 on this crap. Ugh! I had high hopes for this place. Do yourself a favor and keep driving. read more

I really love Ono! this location is my favorite location because they are fast, I think we wait around 10 minutes in the drive thru each time which is fine for me because the fresh comes out so fresh and hot! There is a ton of parking and the menu is easy to view and easy to read. We always ordered the Hawaiian bbq beef with extra teriyaki and of course the teriyaki chicken. We loveeee the Mac salad, it has a ton of flavor and is the only Mac salad I'll eat. You can't taste the mayo it just has a ton of tasty flavors! We also love the spam masubis, they are huge and super filling. Ona is a little higher is cost, especially because drinks are not included with your meal so it runs around 45 for 2 people, which is pretty pricey for fast food but the portions are big as well! read more

It was like good food but I was hard core craving a spam musubi but when I arrived home I was mistakenly given a beef musubi. I tried it and realized wow this is the best mistake ever. Your employees need a lesson in customer service. I simply requested no rice and all broccoli and was flat out refused to be served that. Being in the service industry and understanding customers is a huge factor to me. I offered to pay willingly and she decided to still refuse and said we cannot do that.. since when can a person not order a side as a substitute for a meal ? Literally after i offer to pay an up charge if needed. I am pretty easy going but that certainly upset me to the point i walked out and now am at your competitor right rain d the corner who gladly obliged and did it with a smile. Especially from a person who used to frequent this establishment. And has sent many people there based on the food. read more

This place is definitely one of my favorites, but my recent experience was very disappointing at this particular location. I waited in the drive-thru for over 25 minutes, and while my wife was still in the drive-thru, l went inside to use the bathroom and found it to be very dirty, including the glass doors and windows. I cannot stand a dirty environment. When we finally received our food, it tasted terrible. I will not be returning to this location. read more

Have eaten here many times. Used to live very close by. The food now is not like it used to be. Used to get many pieces of flavorful chicken. Just had it. 2 pieces of dry chicken. I had the Katsu combo with beef/chicken BBQ. Super yum and the plus is they have a drive thru!

Although I absolutely LOVED my food yesterday, I found a dead cockroach in my food (it was dug in deep within the cabbage after I had already eaten some). This is the second time I eat at this location in the past week and the first time, I dismissed the two roaches I saw by the teriyaki and katsu sauce because they were little and I just figured maybe they came in from outside - and I love the food. Well, CLEARLY, they have a problem when the food itself has dead roaches. I tried calling multiple times and they don't answer - the machine will tell u to press "0" to speak with someone and then it hangs up on u. This is a new location!!! Deal with ur roach infestation because this is NOT a good look when one person has seen multiple roaches in one week. read more
