Cool, local indoor music venue. We had purchased tickets for an outdoor concert which needed to…read morechange venues because of noise complaints at the original location. This was lucky because the weather ended up being cold and wet. The space isn't huge and it's pretty unique because it looks like it was converted from an old theater. Since it was an outdoor show it seemed like the ticket sales were for a much bigger space. As the night went on the crowd thinned out and it was much more comfortable to not have people on top of you. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with how they configured a small space. There is a big bar in the back which sells drinks and pizza. There are registers reserved for canned drinks and water to help move the line along. There is also a vending machine to sell snacks. There is a slight decline in the floor so it feels like an outdoor show and if you are in the back you can still see. The big drawback is the bathrooms are super tiny. You could be waiting for a long time. Overall, a pretty cool spot, check it out if you are in the area.

Today 5/19/26, I received an email stating that I received a refund for those tickets. (Assuming the concert was cancelled since no other statement from the venue has been released saying so). I contacted the theater via phone to ask how I was going to receive my refund since the account I purchased the tickets with no longer exists. The gentleman told me "I don't know, maybe call your bank. This isn't my problem" then hung up. So I did, I called my bank and they told me the refund is going to bounce back to the seller. So I called back and told him this and he then tells me again that it's not his problem and we don't handle to ticket sales. So I asked who did and he responded with "what's your email say". I then said Open Table, which he then corrected me by telling me it was open date. I asked for their contact info and he told me he didn't have it. Which is a line of bull. A concert venue doesn't have access to the ticket sellers info? Interesting. He then proceeded to tell me "again this isn't my problem and they (open table) is going to tell you the same thing. He then hung up on me. I've since contacted open date and they are helping me get my refund, but I can promise I will never do business with this venue in the future. It may be nice, I'll never know.

It is not this way at other bars as the entertainment is an afterthought for people to listen to as they socialize and drink spending money. They want the money but cater to ones not spending it and then try to bleed the ones coming for the entertainment by forcing minimums even on those that bought a ticket and never showed up. RESPONSE to Owner: Then it is best to change all your Misguiding information on your website and Facebook pages. How doe one "SOCIALIZE" with people and "LOUNGE" around doing so as in your own descriptions on your website and Social Media? How can you charge people that don't show on a ticket for a table set-up on your minimum purchase, when those that did attend went way beyond the minimum purchase on those that attended INCLUDING the ticket that was a NO SHOW? Price Gouging or a Venue that is desperate for money trying to fleece those that "attend" and don't attend for your Shows? Where does it state that policy as to NO-SHOWS and what makes it Legal? You may feel certain ways about your Venue, but it doesn't pay the bills as you have basically asked to nickel and dime members yet won't do anything to improve your bottom line or approach? Joe Borello put some thought into the name of his new business, the Blue Spruce Lounge. Since the…read moreinterior is decorated mostly in blue, and since it's located in a hotel called the Maplewood, he wanted a tree in the name that tied in with the color. So he picked spruce. The Blue Spruce Lounge opened in the space that had been the Carnegie Cafe in the Maplewood Inn at 400 7th North St. The opening coincided with the completion of interior renovations to the hotel side, and is a bar and full-service restaurant, with live music several days a week and a banquet room that hosts weddings and other events, including a Paint Night and a Trivia Night. I found a Groupon for Blue Spruce and had been interested in trying it since I work very closely with it. The wife and I decided to try it out today for lunch while running errands. When you walk into the restaurant entrance, there's a small foyer area with a trash can. There were napkins and papers all over the floor today since that wasn't exactly a welcoming sign. We walked into the restaurant, which was empty, but there was no hostess at the stand. The bartender, who I now know is the owner, and also ended up being our server, ran over and sat us. We thought it was a little odd, as he was dressed in a sweatshirt and basketball shorts. We were told we could sit anywhere, as there were no other customers. The place is a very nicely decorated place, but for a sunny day, it was very dark inside. The owner turned the lights up, but we would've preferred just having the curtains opened. We sat and were given our menu. I chose The Northside, a sub with sliced pork, broccoli rabe and a roasted garlic aioli, while the wife chose their sweet Italian chicken griller sandwich, grilled chicken, a grilled sausage patty, roasted red peppers and mozzarella. All sandwiches and burgers are served with fries. Our order seemed to take a long time for two sandwiches. Especially seeing as the restaurant was empty other than us. It was also DEAD quiet...you could hear a pin drop. There were several TVs on in the place, but none of them had the volume on, and there was no music playing in the place either. The quiet was even more noticeable, as the owner/host/server/bartender spent most of the time we were waiting for our food on his cell phone having a rather loud conversation, then after he hung up, we clearly heard him yelling at his staff when he went into the kitchen. He was nice enough to us, but just didn't seem very professional. Our food came and we started in. The wife and I both switched a half or each other's sandwiches so we could try both and everything was just ok. The fries were good...we both like crispy, battered fries, and that's what they serve, but they had WAY too much salt on them. My wife's sandwich had a balsamic glaze on it that isn't mentioned on the menu, but we found both our sandwiches bland. The pork on my sandwich was pretty good, but besides that, it was also bland. There was apparently a garlic aioli on it, but the flavor was non existent. The sausage on my wife's sandwich was sweet sausage, but it also had very little flavor along with the chicken breast. Everything was just very plain. The owner rang us up, but rang the Groupon incorrectly. He was very easy going about it when I pointed it out and fixed it though. I went to use the bathroom and when I came back, the wife said the owner spoke to her and said they had a more extensive dinner menu and bands at night, which answered my question as to why they had such a huge, empty space in the back of the restaurant. Overall, it was just disappointing. I'm glad we used a Groupon and barely paid anything, as the flavors on the food just wasn't there and there was simply no atmosphere to the place. I think we could give it another shot for dinner at some point, but lunch just missed the mark.
