Wow! There was a wait for brunch on Sunday, but it was well worth it another amazing yelp find! I was in Syracuse for work, and needed a good brunch before I headed back south rise and shine diner is just what the doctor ordered! I sat at the bar, good service. Very cool decor in the small place. But the star of the show is definitely the food. I got the Witwhiz burger. It was fricking amazing! Home fries were super good. Also don't skip those! An amazing spot for breakfast or brunch in Syracuse. Parking is a little tight, but there is a street parking available too.

My buddy and I drove an hour just to try this place. The menu here is absolutely insane and the flavor and quality lived up to the hype. Portion sizes are huuuuge. I recommend the cauliflower pizza. It was outstanding. We can't wait to bring out wives. We were able to park on site and although we did call ahead to be placed on the waiting list it was not necessary. If you are looking for a unique and filling breakfast experience, this is your place.

The staff was so nice and accommodating. The food was great and the portions were huge. Well worth the money. Only thing was we had to wait a while for the food and when it did come out the home fries were warm but not hot and the same went for the sausage and bacon. If it wasn't for the warm instead of hot food and the long wait it would have been 5 stars. Love the options and quality was superb! Will definitely be back with some more people to try other menu items.

I have always wanted to try this diner because of the incredibly unique and creative menu, cocktails, and simply everything looked great! Well we finally got there and boy oh boy we were not disappointed. Our server was so sweet and answered all of my questions regarding the sweetness of the specialty coffee and tea options. They gladly made what I was craving a pumpkin cappuccino which was creamy, not sweet, and the perfect balance of pumpkin... well done! After changing our mind a few times as the food options are endless we choose pastrami style salmon Benedict served on sourdough bread in a delightful presentation and the moist abundant salmon was perfectly seasoned did not let us down! Next we gobbled down the pork belly Benedict with a sweet spicy Korean style sauce piled high with frizzled onions. Both were incredible! The diner is eclectic, filled with fun decor and local diners. Westcott St. is a great place for unique cuisine and we will certainly return sooner than later!

Beautiful and aesthetically pleasing diner that serves unique and traditional breakfast / brunch entrees. Service was extremely up-beat and friendly. The portion sizes of some the entrees are massive! Definitely enough to feed 2+ people. Mimosas were delicious. I love the fact they have more than one mimosa flavor to choose from.

Came for birthday brunch and was not disappointed! This place is super busy with limited seating and only takes reservations for large parties - so prepare accordingly. There's something for everyone on the menu - great gluten free and vegan options. The gluten free cinnamon roll pancakes were perfect! The cauliflower breakfast pizza is also delicious and gluten free. Flaming French toast was a big hit along with the wings and Benny Flight. The waitress did not do the sparkler birthday celebration that some of the other tables got, but they were very busy. Everyone was friendly and we're excited to go back!

Had a great experience dining in the patio area. Service was prompt. Food was tasty. I really liked that they offered drink flights to try out a few different drink options they had. I went on a day when they aren't as busy. I have heard it can get really busy with wait times but I lucked out.

Yummmmmmm! I'm so glad we found this place. Super cute and quaint. We walked in and just sat at the bar. Their menu is EXTENSIVE! I had the Irish benny and hubs had the Basic B. all of it was delish! Definitely stop by if you're in the area. It's actually worth driving out of your area to go too!

A fun and exciting spot for brunch, breakfast, or lunch! For as good (and sometimes) crazy as the food looks, it tastes just as good. Can never go wrong with the eggs benny flight, breakfast poutine, mac n cheese, or pancake flight for something sweet. Surprisingly good wings!? The table LOVED the chipotle french toast wings, sweet, savroy, crispy, and a little spicy. However this place can get BUSY, you can join a waitlist over the phone or in person. Because it gets so busy food can take a little bit, but normally drinks/apps/entrees are well timed to one another. It can get a bit loud inside so prepare for that. I enjoyed my chai and my friend loved her french toast latte- cocktails are fun and unique but the food is overall better. Our server-Brianna V..?... Was thee BEST

We were passing thru Syracuse and wanted to grab breakfast. Rise n' Shine was recommended to us and we're so glad it was! Things that were outstanding: * presentation- the plating of the breakfast egg rolls and pancake "sushi"was innovative and fun. * taste: we all loved everything we ordered, including chicken and waffles, pancakes and the items above. Coffee was excellent too! * service: we were seated promptly and our service was efficient and friendly. * ambiance: bright, happy, cool light fixtures One note: the egg rolls could have been placed on a napkin or something to help absorb excess oil - still yummy! I'd recommend Rise n' Shine to anyone looking for a great meal with a side of creativity. Bravo!

Coffee - 2.5/5 Just okay. You'll find a much better cup at Recess. Pancakes - 2/5 Undercooked and disappointing. Honestly, I make better ones at home. Shakshouka - 0/5 Please don't order this. Completely missed the mark. Service Waited 85 minutes for our food. We were initially told to sit at the bar, despite our reservation. Only after repeated requests were we moved to a booth. Ambiance Nothing special. Just average. Verdict Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Not worth the time or money.

If you want poor service by grumpy girls with nose piercings, that constantly complain behind the counter about other co-workers, over-priced coffee ($4.39 ‍) that you have to ask repeatedly to fill up, digital menus that are difficult to read and don't tell you they come with our home fires or anything else then this is the place for you. Don't call yourself a diner because diners have much better service than this liberal bunch. Food was good and reason for the 2 stars instead of 1, but bring back grumpy woman that at least know what service is and fill up your coffee without giving you an attitude. #bringbackflo #bringbackprintedmen Tired it again. They don't offer normal white sugar for your coffee. If you like fufu breakfast it's good. If you like traditional breakfast it Sucks. $5 bucks for lousy undercut bacon your in luck

Once again, it was outstanding. Great service great atmosphere and the food is superb. The price is worth what you pay for. If you have not come here yet, I strongly suggest it. It may be expensive, but the experience is hard to beat. One of my top five favorite restaurants of all time.

I was genuinely looking forward to dining at what is often described as "the best restaurant in…read moreSyracuse," especially for their Valentine's Day prix fixe experience. Unfortunately, based on our visit, I do not anticipate returning. While I do have several culinary critiques--such as paying for the luxury wine pairing only to receive a bold Burgundy alongside Linguine and Clams, or seeing "Caviar" listed on the menu and discovering it was actually Bowfin roe--these are ultimately matters of taste and expectation. Likewise, the eclectic menu progression, shifting from Korean/Asian-inspired starters to Eastern European notes and then unexpectedly into Italian influences, was unusual but clearly stated ahead of time. SEE UPDATED REVIEW FOLLOWING THIS SECTION SPECIFICALLY RELATING TO "SERVICE FEE". What was not clearly stated--and what I believe crosses into dishonest practice--was the service fee. The menu advertised on Instagram included fine print noting a 3% service fee. That seemed reasonable. However, the check we received instead included a 22% service fee, which is a significant and unexplained deviation. This is not a simple oversight. The terms presented online at the time of reservation did not match the terms presented at the restaurant. (UPDATED REVIEW: Following my review, one of the owners of Noble Cellar reached out to discuss my experience. We had an in‑depth, thoughtful conversation about the complexities of New York State restaurant laws, particularly those governing how front‑of‑house staff may be tipped and how back‑of‑house employees may be compensated. While we were in agreement that the language surrounding the service fee was confusing, our discussion gave me a clearer understanding of the intent. I now feel far less certain that the discrepancy was malicious or deliberately deceptive. That said, it should have been made much clearer to diners that the service fee included what is traditionally understood as gratuity. Transparency in this area is crucial for maintaining guest trust, and clearer communication would have prevented the confusion I--and likely others--experienced. I want to commend the owner for reaching out directly and taking the time to address each of my concerns. His willingness to engage, listen, and provide context demonstrated genuine integrity. We also discussed my other critiques in depth, and it was evident that he was sincerely interested in my perspective and committed to further elevating the experience they aim to provide. I was invited back to experience a standard service, and I appreciate the opportunity. I look forward to giving Noble Cellar another chance and hope to update this review again following a future visit.) Our total bill was $599, including a $100 "service fee." I still chose to leave a $100 tip, as our server was attentive and should not be held responsible for management's decisions. In the end, we spent $700 for two people--paired with the added disappointment of feeling misled. I have photo documentation of both menus, and the discrepancy is unmistakable. I will be reaching out directly to ownership and management regarding this issue. Until then, I feel compelled to leave a 1-star review, as this level of inconsistency and lack of transparency is unacceptable. Without the inflated and undisclosed fee, my rating would have been closer to 3 stars, based on the food and overall experience.

Walking through the restaurant was nice as the space was very large and the decor indoor was cozy and whimsical. Our server was nice throughout the meal. However, I did get a water glass that had marks on it that looked like someone just drank out of it and a crumb on the rim. I asked them if they could get me a clean cup and they ended up bringing the same one as the same mark and crumb were still there. For food, our table ordered a few items to share. We got: -CAULIFLOWER WINGS: The chutney/salsa on top of the fried cauliflower was nice and gave the item a little sour kick. However, the cauliflower itself was not cooked fully so not as soft as I wanted it to be. -SYRACUSE POUTINE: The appearance of the poutine was not the best. However, the gravy it came with was very flavorful and tasty. The potatoes themselves were not fried and were in wedge form but went well with the gravy. The small globs of melted cheese on top were a nice complement. -CAJUN SLIDERS: The slider compliments/sauce went well together but the sliders themselves had grill marks on it which gave a bitter bite to those parts of the slider. Additionally, the fried shrimp inside of the slider still had the tail on and so it was a bit of a surprise to bite into a full tail while eating a slider. All in all, a cute spot to see people but food had some hit or miss components.

I was the only returning patron, the others much enjoyed their first time here. Walking through the front door you're instantly hit with a wonderful smell of food cooking over an open fire. Got a terrific table to look out the window and enjoyed a nice evening view. Took full advantage of every food meal course available. Started out with their evening appetizer of homemade bread with cinnamon butter. Each of us got our own dinner choice along with small plates to start. The two small plates were green lentil salad and ember roasted carrots. Both of them with their unique flavor and style. The green lentil salad featured heirlooms. The ember roasted carrots featured labrieth, doqqa, and maple syrup. Keep in mind everything here comes from local farms and local breweries and distilleries. Big fan of supporting the state and local community. Fantastic! They feature only a few main entrées, tonight's included halibut, steak, chicken, and sea Island peas with jasmine rice. Knowing how well seasoned their steaks are, I went with a filet mignon 10 ounce. Probably a little more than I should've gotten, but I very rarely eat steak and know how well and good they are here. Ordered the steak medium to medium rare and that's exactly how it came out. Mouth watering delicious. Along with the steak includes mashed potatoes, chimichurri, kale, and. crème fraiche. Every bite was outstanding. One of us got ice cream for dessert which she said was very good. The ice cream was made right there at the restaurant. We kicked off the dinner with a rum cocktail and a tequila cocktail. All spirits locally sourced. If you haven't tried it here yet you should. You will not be disappointed.

We were promptly seated and ordered glasses of wine while perusing the menu, which is on the smaller side. That usually means everything on it is rather good, so we had high expectations. We started with the Mushroom Toast, Ember Roasted Carrots, and Beef Tartar. I'll start with the bad and finish with the good. The Ember Roasted Carrots were a complete miss. They were trying to go for a middle-eastern flavor, with each ingredient contrasting, while the carrot served as the centerpiece to flavor. I found this to be INCREDIBLY bland. The carrots were not salted enough during roasting and lacked enough char. They dish also needed more labneh than it was served with. It literally just tasted like carrots and yoghurt. Honestly, if I could only give one critique it would be to have used more salt, but this dish was a real disappointment. The Beef Tartar suffered from a similar issue. It was bland. Not enough salt was used. It unfortunately tastes like flat beef. I overheard the bartender talking to another couple and he told them they really want to highlight the ingredients. The idea is purity or something like that. And that's well and good, but you still need to season beef tartar. I don't think this is necessarily a poor execution of the dish(es) rather this is more in line with the philosophy of the kitchen, and that's fine. It's just not for me. And now for the good. The Mushroom Toast was great. It had all the things I had wanted. Fat, salt, umami, freshness. This was a good dish and I would get this again. As for the entrees, my husband and I ordered the Cappelletti and the NY Strip. The Cappelleti was the strongest dish of the night. The flavors were layered and intentional. This was a great dish and I1000% would get it again. My husband ordered the NY Strip along with bone marrow. It was cooked to perfection. Cooking it over a wood fire gave it a great char and almost Smokey flavor. It was very flavorful. The chimichurri made the steak feel lighter than it actually was. My husband loved it and I loved having a bite or two of everything together. This was a complete dish and I'd highly recommend it. The only knock I could give it is the bone marrow. There was a lack of volume in it which is probably due to being cooked over a wood fire. Parts of the bones were also over roasted. I'd skip this the next time and get the foie gras pate. Lastly, for desert we were disappointed that we could not try the rice pudding as they were out of it (we will try it the next time if available). We did however order the Flourless Chocolate Torte to share. It was made perfectly. It was rich and decadent but remained light. It was almost like a mousse, but not quite. We loved it. Overall, the had a great time. There were several highlights and I think they make up for the a couple of the earlier dishes. I'd like to see what else they have to offer when they change their menu.

The porkchop with kimchi fried rice was the clear winner, hands down. The chicken, mashed and greens took second place (but I'll give ya a pro tip chef: the longer you cook your greens, the better they are). The salmon was a distant third because everything bagel seasoning is a lot after a while, and the veg was uninspired. Our TL:DR recommendation is come for cocktails and poutine. But it was still very tasty. Only down side was that the grease weighted down our stomachs, so it was hard to finish the entrees. Dinner was very good; I had the six cheeses mac n cheese, and Ryan got fish n chips. Both were a good portion for the price, which is always nice. Again, it wasn't a bad experience! I just wasn't blown away/ i didnt feel that I need to go back in the future.

We've eaten here a bunch - mostly due to proximity and lack of other options. The food is wildly…read moreinconsistent; sometimes, we're surprised at how good a dish is (usually a special or seasonal dish), but if we order it again, it's never the same. The biggest issues: - Many things seem to have a lot of oil involved. From the side vegetables to the burgers to the "garlic bread" served on the side of the pasta dishes - there's a strong, oily taste. It's not a pleasant oil - my guess is it's ostensibly neutral, like a vegetable or canola, though it leaves a flavor that suggests it's not entirely neutral. Perhaps a fake butter? Why it's so ubiquitous is anyone's guess, but it leaves an unpleasant film in your mouth. While I understand restaurants use a lot more oil/butter than home cooking (it's often why we like restaurant food better), this oil is not good. - The fries. I guess some people like them; I loved shoestring fries as a kid, but these aren't the same. They have no flavor (aside from the aforementioned oil), and they're the consistency of McDonald's fries, but drier and harder. Recently, we got an order that came with a new, more traditional style fry, and they were so good. We were excited that they finally ditched the cardboard variety but that apparently was a one-off - today showed that they seemed to revert to the old style, unfortunately. - They had an amazing chicken bacon ranch pizza for a while, until one day when it was gone. I think the secret was smoked Gouda, but whatever they used, it was a great pizza. When it disappeared from the menu, I inquired and was told, "oh yeah, lots of people are asking for that." So I said, "is it coming back, then?" I was told it's "doubtful," which kinda sums up my experiences there. Everyone loved it and wants it back? Better get rid of it, then. - The kids menu options are somewhat insulting to children. The "grilled cheese" uses what appear to be hamburger buns, so carelessly made that they seldom match up (that is, the top will be skewed off so the sandwich isn't put together). The kids pasta dishes are just plain noodles, usually undercooked, with no seasoning (i.e. salt) or other attention to preparation. The inconsistency is really the biggest issue for me. Things range from "fine" to "bad," but even if you stick with one menu item, you don't know what you're going to get. Non-chain, family-friendly restaurants are seemingly hard to find in this area, so I really wish they were better. We've kept at this place far longer than we probably should, again due to convenience, and because every now and then, a dish will be surprisingly good. However, those instances are becoming so rare, I think we're done for a good while. I do hope they improve.

The preserve is always a great time, good food, and awesome service! I've been for lunch a few…read moretimes with work but recently went for a birthday dinner and enjoyed all of it. I didn't realize they had a different menu for lunch and dinner so I was pleasantly surprised to see some new options than what I am used to. I had an espresso martini with peanut butter cold foam and I wish I could taste the pb but still delicious. My friend and I both ordered chicken and the pieces were huge and so delicious!! We had a reservation for a Friday night and i'm glad we did because the place was packed, which it normally is! We were even 15 mins late and they were super nice about it and had no problem keeping our table for us. All the staff are very friendly and can give an answer to any question on the menu very quickly. I really do like everything about the preserve and will keep coming back! It's also nice they have a parking lot and don't have to street park.

So this isn't going to be a review so much about the food, but our experience. As you read you are…read moreprobably going to be like "yeah so why 4 stars??" Well here goes... I booked a reservation for 5:15pm as we had an appt at the theatre but we were running a little late due to weather and arrived around 5:35. I did call ahead to let the restaurant know and they were fine. We arrived and were promptly seated. The restaurant was quite busy. Our server greeted us and was lovely. We put our drink order in and then apps and food a bit later. We expressly told the server that our show was at 7:30 and her response was "good to know!". Then things went sideways. The drinks were very late to the table but the server apologized. They were rather tasty though and she convinced me to try a new Roku gin which I did! Good choice! The mozzarella app came promptly, it was tasty though pretty common. Then...we waited...and waited..and waited. 20min- 30min- 1 hour. We had been told that their new menu premiered today, and the server was also running around like a chicken with her head cut off. We later were told that they had cut a server earlier because they had not anticipated being as busy. Ooooops!! No bueno! The other issue was that our server, had tables all over the restaurant. Not in a specific area but like all over. Being that our show was at 7:30, at around 6:50 after speaking with the manager the food arrived. Here is the good part- The manager was AMAZING. She knew that the restaurant was in the wrong, she knew they were unprepared and she took action. She along with our server got the food to us with copious apologies and she made it right. I will leave that there- SHE MADE IT RIGHT. My brother was in the restaurant business for many years and explained where the failures happened - a new menu and lack of staff and why the mixture was not a good combination when unprepared. I asked if the owner happened to be in the restaurant at the same time and I was told yes, but that they were in a meeting discussing sauces. Lord have mercy! That bothered me, considering that there were problems in the dining room and the owner was nowhere to be found, but at the end of the day, the manager and our server really rose to the occasion, took care of the issue, apologized profusely, and we left feeling as though we were taken care of even though we had to shove our food down our faces in order to get to the theatre. Will we go back? Yes, of course - we will give them another chance but more over the owner needs to recognize that there was a problem that likely there will continue to be a problem unless they learn from the mistakes with his or her management team so that these things do not continue to happen. One thing our server did say to us is "we really enjoy and appreciate the feedback that we get so that we can pass that along in the hopes that management and ownership will listen to us, and these things won't happen again; she was embarrassed. We told her not to be. We tipped her highly because we felt that this was not her fault at all; that this was the fault of ownership and management not properly juggling all of the balls in the air to make a smooth evening for everyone. As we left we noticed that the restaurant was even more jam packed than when we arrived- I do hope that things got a bit smoother!
