My sister and I went to breakfast on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago. We were greeted promptly and seated. We were informed only breakfast on the weekends and no lunch. I was a little disappointed about that. I chose the steak, home fries, eggs and toast. The steak was very thin and a little tough but the rest was good. Was enough to take some home because I wanted to try the homemade pie. I got the coconut cream and it was not the normal way I would expect (no whipped cream on top) but it was excellent! The crust was delicious and the cream was definitely home made with shredded coconut on top. The place was clean and tidy and the service was good.

HOUSE special so worth it. 11.95....

Yum omelets and friendly, prompt service. What more can you ask for from a classic American diner?

The attention to detail and design is hard to not appreciate. We don't have the most exotic palettes so decided to pass on the appetizers, assuming there will atleast be bread or something on the table. There was not. We also just asked for water and were a little surprised that we drank $16 worth. We chose the swordfish and flat iron melange. The swordfish was a bit over cooked IMO and bland. But, the vegetables were great. The flat iron was cooked perfectly. It had a great flavor but was a little chewy, not terribly though. The vegetables with that dish were also quite good. Dessert was not appealing enough for the price. I was happy to try this place. It has potential for being a little bit better and hope it works out but we likely wouldn't return for a very long time.

We arrived to a busy atmosphere that quieted down throughout the night. We started with cocktails which were strong and delicious. The brussel sprout appetizer was to die for, who knew that brussel sprouts go well with blue cheese! I ordered the salmon dish which was incredible. My friend enjoyed the Greek chicken dish. We were disappointed we didn't have enough room for dessert so we'll just have to come back! Other notes: the service was friendly and there was extra parking across the street if necessary. I can't wait to be back to try their specials and seasonal menus

I read up on the menu and discovered they offered lamb chops which is one of my absolute favourites. A taste of home for me! Friendly and efficient staff welcomed us and showed us to our table. So far so good. Very nice young woman looked after us. My wife ordered the rigatoni and I had the chops. She loved her rigatoni so much she's finishing it off 2 days later and still loving it. Sadly my dish was a bit of a disappointment. My two large chops were extremely fatty. It's the kind you simply can't cut through on a slippery plate. Trying to separate what little meat there was from the fat was impossible so I had to give up and bring it home to a cutting board and an extremely sharp knife. I haven't tried to eat it yet but it looks as fatty as the first. Both had been totally covered by a condiment that I think should have been served in a separate container to allow the diner to regulate the amount desired. The base was a pilf which made trying to cut the chops even more difficult because every time the meat or the knife slipped, the table was showered with grains....all a bit slapstick....! As I previously said, my wife loved her meal and the previous visit was epic so I hate to criticise but I'm just trying to be honest and fair. I think $45 for a couple of very fatty chops with not much meat and smothered in a vinaigrette you might not like is a bit cheeky... In different circumstances I would have sent it back. Oh well, you live and learn...

Walking through the restaurant was nice as the space was very large and the decor indoor was cozy and whimsical. Our server was nice throughout the meal. However, I did get a water glass that had marks on it that looked like someone just drank out of it and a crumb on the rim. I asked them if they could get me a clean cup and they ended up bringing the same one as the same mark and crumb were still there. For food, our table ordered a few items to share. We got: -CAULIFLOWER WINGS: The chutney/salsa on top of the fried cauliflower was nice and gave the item a little sour kick. However, the cauliflower itself was not cooked fully so not as soft as I wanted it to be. -SYRACUSE POUTINE: The appearance of the poutine was not the best. However, the gravy it came with was very flavorful and tasty. The potatoes themselves were not fried and were in wedge form but went well with the gravy. The small globs of melted cheese on top were a nice complement. -CAJUN SLIDERS: The slider compliments/sauce went well together but the sliders themselves had grill marks on it which gave a bitter bite to those parts of the slider. Additionally, the fried shrimp inside of the slider still had the tail on and so it was a bit of a surprise to bite into a full tail while eating a slider. All in all, a cute spot to see people but food had some hit or miss components.

I ordered the tropical salmon and was side eyeing the coconut a little, but wow... it all came together perfectly. Sweet, tangy, and the salmon was cooked exactly right. Service never disappoints, and whoever was behind the bar deserves a shoutout because that blackberry margarita was dangerous. I went back for round two and I'm not sorry about it. Dessert was a dense chocolate cake that didn't even last long enough for a photo, which says everything. We ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer, and the batter was so crispy and also fluffy (almost like a battered haddock but lighter) - awesome! The bang bang sauce has great flavor, but slightly too mayo forward for my preferences - but ate it up nonetheless and would get them again! I also ordered a blackberry margarita- which I will say was strong, but the flavors were great. When I asked if they minded giving me a couple Slices of lemon and some simple syrup (and yes I admitted that it was a ME problem, not that they made it poorly- it was just stronger and I'm a big wimp!) , they promptly, no questions asked said "we got this" and put the drink back in the shaker and added some simple syrup (mind you I was totally fine with just a little shot glass of it to dump in my drink!) - so the willingness to be so helpful was very appreciated. As for our entrees, one of us ordered the Cajun Alfredo and one of us ordered the Tropical Salmon, both were made incredibly well, and the flavor and seasoning was fantastic! The Alfredo sauce when I tried it was lovely, not so thick and "artery clogging" as some Alfredo can be, but coated the noodles beautifully and packed a flavorful punch. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the pineapple and coconut in the rice made for an amazingly delicious dish. We were also fortunate to sit at a window overlooking the swan pond and then take a nice walk around the pond. So lovely- cannot wait to go back!!

The mixed salad was just a generic greens salad you'd find at a buffet. The crab cakes had bits of hard shell bits I've never experienced in a crab cakes.
