Really good diner. Just off 81 south of Syracuse. It's on the Onondaga nation and there were quite a few native Americans working, not sure if it's native owned but I'm guessing yes. Everyone was super friendly and the service was great. Lots of counter space to eat at which I love. It was busy, even at 10AM but service was quick. Menu is typical diner fare. I got the breakfast meat lovers scramble and the biscuits and gravy. The breakfast scramble was good but the biscuits and gravy were great- highly recommend! The coffee was also surprisingly good.

interesting. The dining room has an old fashioned rustic look, but the kitchen looks modern.

Great food, good service, good prices and specials Seniors discounts Cash only but there's and ATM (probably charges a fee) But you're really should've figured out that It's almost necessary to carry cash around these days- im seeing more and more businesses either have a surcharge or don't take credit/debit cards at all. There is no tax because it is on the reservation

A lovely inviting space. Plenty of seating and a counter too.

Everything from Firekeepers is delicious. All homemade. The service is excellent and friendly. Dinner came fast. It's really nice inside, rustic diner atmosphere, with lots of tables and counter service. They are renovating the front, so drive around the back and use those doors. There was a board with daily specials that looked great too. Chicken with biscuits. Chicken salad. Homemade soup. I had the turkey dinner. This tastes like you remember. Homemade gravy, stuffing, potatoes, real carved Turkey. It was awesome. This is a wonderful diner with breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7 am until 7 pm just off Rt 81 on the Onondaga Nation. Please support this wonderful restaurant if you are in the area. Cash only. They have an ATM.

One of the 315 rocks I found today at Firekeeper's Restaurant.

Stopped here on the way to the strawberry festival. Got steak and eggs breakfast for $12. Perfectly cooked medium rare, great steak, substituted grits for the home fries, they were cooked perfectly as well. Eggs over easy were just a smidge runny but it didn't bother me. All in all, it was THE best breakfast / brunch, whatever you wanna call it, I've had in... Well, I can't even remember how long it was that good! Service was pretty good, my wife got a little irritated when the waitress took a little long to get our boxes but I didn't think much of it. Love the ambience, whenever we come here I always find these 315 rocks with these awesome inspirational sayings on them. They always end up being really deep, profound messages that really, truly speak to my life experience. The one I found today really touched me. So, yeah, definitely one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Syracuse. Whether you live here or are just visiting. Do yourself a favor check it out. I literally downloaded yelp just to write this review.

    Frittata with Italian Toast

This place is always amazing! The restaurant burnt down years ago so they rebuilt it as a log cabin, the interior walls are beautiful. Everything is very clean and everyone that works there is friendly and hospitable. Every meal I've had there is delicious! During this visit, I had the Frittata and it's so simple but done so well. Coffee is good and they offer plenty of refills. Would recommend for breakfast or lunch!

Firekeepers has such a warm & cozy vibe to it. I honestly felt like I was amongst family while dining here. The staff were super friendly & attentive. The restaurant is very clean, open & bright. This is a seat yourself establishment. Within 2 minutes of seating ourselves, someone was over with menus, and to take our drink order, this level of service continued throughout our meal. The food is very tasty and extremely affordable! Not a single item on the menu was priced over $15. How amazing is that?!?! I am looking forward to returning to try out their hot turkey sandwich and mac & cheese. As I was leaving, another customer strongly encouraged me to come back for those menu items, so I will definitely do so.

    Chocolate cream pie

I've been here many times but always lose out on the pie! I heard it's homemade locally and every time I try to get a slice they are all out. Today was my lucky day!!! They had chocolate cream, coconut cream, apple and blueberry. I choose chocolate cream and it was just perfect. I also had a bowl of New England clam chowder but the pie was the star!! Service was excellent as usual. Very clean place. Note that they only accept cash.

    Hot turkey sandwich
    Erica O.

I've been craving a hot turkey sandwich and found out they serve the real deal here. Seat yourself, so I did and almost immediately I had someone come over for my drink order. Then my server came with a menu. Everyone was extremely friendly and the restaurant is so clean. The specials were up on the wall, Fish Dinner - Fish Sandwich - Macaroni and cheese - New England clam chowder. I had to have the hot turkey! A very nice serving of real carved turkey on bread, home-made mashed potatoes, a small side of cranberry sauce and plenty of gravy. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to come back and try something else.

There was a Hibatchi area in back corner but I didn't try it. There were many types of breaded, fried, sauced chicken...all a bit dried out. The coconut shrimp was a little dried out. The green beans were tasty but limp. The rice noodles were a bit plain. I did not try the fish nor roast beef. BF said the pork was dry but good. But the SHELLFISH was really exceptional. Clams of different sizes, muscles in sauce, cold shrimp, hot shrimp, shrimp boil. My BF was like a bear in honey! Everything was clean but the place smelled oddly of petroleum? I tried samples of several things but my favorites were the steak (cooked medium rare) and salad. The salad bar is amazing with so many choices and the steak was a pleasant surprise and tasty. And honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by this particular location! First off, the restaurant was very clean especially in comparison to other locations that I've visited, not overly packed, and the crowd seemed to come in waves, so it never felt overwhelming. I do want to mention that I came on a Sunday afternoon around 3:15 PM. They have two large rooms for larger parties. We sat in one of them. The staff was amazing -- they were so friendly and even familiar with my niece since we've brought her here a few times. They even came out and sang happy birthday to her, which just made her whole night! I do want to note that they told us if it's someone in your parties birthday, you do have to request for them to sing. They're no longer allowed to just sing to the birthday person without you asking for it. One thing that really shocked me: they have a slushie machine here! I've never seen that at a Golden Corral before. Such a cute touch, especially for kids. Now for the food -- it's definitely a hit-or-miss situation, but that's kind of the beauty of a buffet. You can pick and choose what you like! * The clam chowder soup was delicious -- full of flavor. * The rice with sausage was another favorite -- very flavorful. * The sweet potato casserole topped with marshmallows was really good, just a bit on the sweeter side. * The fried shrimp was solid too. * The strawberry cake looked amazing and tasted just as good. Some dishes missed the mark a bit -- I personally didn't care for the baked chicken, and my mom said the baked fish wasn't great either. But again, when you have so many options, it's easy to find something you'll enjoy. Overall, Golden Corral is one of those family-friendly places where not everyone will love the same thing, but everyone will leave happy and full. It's affordable, casual, and perfect for larger groups when you don't want the hassle of structured menus or high prices. I normally don't leave reviews for places like this, but this location definitely stood out -- newer, cleaner, great vibe, and the staff made it an even better experience. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area looking for an easy, family-style meal without breaking the bank!

On the dessert bar, there is an Oreo pie that I really like. I usually go get that first to make sure I get a piece, lol. Of the whole buffet, that is the one thing that I truly like. Everything is ok, but nothing is amazing. The pie is really good though. My husband is not vegetarian, and he is really why we come here. After taking some neighborhood streets, we arrived at the location and parked in their small lot. There was room for perhaps for 6-7 cars. Each space was labeled for whether it was for the restaurant or not. Entering, we were greeted and seated. We had about 1 hour and 14 minutes before boarding, so the staff were very accommodating and pointed out what could be made quickly (basically everything except their tandoori). They also answered questions about gluten. We ended up getting aloo tikki chaat and a lamb shank masala. They provided chickpea flour crisps with mint-cilantro and tamarind chutney. They also brought us their complimentary chai tea, which was very nice and satisfying. Their chaat was well-balanced, gluten-free (the crispies are made with chickpea flour), and it had pomengranate, chickpeas, and potatoes. The pile was dressed with yogurt, tamarind chutney, and mint chutney. Their lamb shank masala came bone-in with the curry sauce surrounding it. The lamb was well cooked, and mostly moist and tender, though there were parts that were dry. Both dishes were well-adorned, which was a nice touch. Best of all, however, was how exemplary all the staff were at the restaurant. They exuded a wonderful calmness and hospitality. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Syracuse.
